Here's a scenario, a dawn patrol takes place and they come across an abandoned puppy (any breed) and decide to take it in as a Clan member. How do you think this would work, would a dog adapt or not? What would it's warrior name be? Would you guys like to see this in the series?

I think it could be a cute idea honestly. Gives me the impression of something akin to Tarzan

I love that idea! There are already some cute AUs where a Clan adopted a kitten which later turned out to be a lynx cub so why not a puppy as well? I think that a dog could certainly adapt and if not it at least makes for some dramatic situation. But then again, this is a fantasy series about religious cats so anything seems possible.

millie could only "speak" to the dog because she learned from twolegs somehow. i dont think it's possible for the cats to actually communicate with a dog like how they communicate with midnight (and we also dont know how midnight is even able to speak cat in the first place but oh well).
it's a cute idea though. same idea like hollyleaf taking in the fox cub.

I'm pretty sure any creature can learn, it's just a matter of listening and understanding. Even the rat leader in Firestar's Quest learned how to speak cat.

I think it's an interesting and cute idea. I can see the dog becoming a sort of "pet" or helper for the cats because I doubt the other Clans will be very happy seeing it around.

I think the nature of the two species is too different for the dog to ever fit in or work out, even if it was raised to speak/be friendly to cats.

Hmm, I wonder if the other Clans might oppose this because if that dog grows up big and dangerous (depends what breed and the size) they might consider it an unfair advantage for the Clan that has it.

I think this is a fun scenario but I'd be really surprised if the books did it as I don't think the clans would see it as an option to raise the dog themselves. I could see them taking in a puppy temporarily while they work out a solution that gets it away from the clans yet keeps it safe but considering how the clans struggle to accept even other cats I can't imagine they'd accept a puppy. I think a cat-like creature being mistaken for a cat and adopted could possibly happen but since they mostly see dogs as bad I'd find it a bit strange.
It would be cool to meet a dog that knows cat though! Millie could speak dog so why not the other way around?
