[[ YUSSS I've shipped them since day one. Is that bad? And Bamboo... let's see.... I've got Austin. We can do some Fae drama? ]]
Nathan looked at the Fae and nodded. "Good to have you on board," he said, hiding his uncertainty. "You'll hear from us soon. We expect to have things settled once we get others on board," he continued.
Kenzie, the most decisive of the three Fairchilds, had no idea what she wanted to do at this point. Well... I didn't really have anything planned yet. Well, Fae are always sketchy. I guess we'll just have to keep a look out on that one.

{Ooh fae drama c: are we shipping them or nah?}
Hydrangea, nodded, satisfied. "Very well. It was a pleasure meeting the both of you." She was pretty sure they were still uncertain, but they were putting up a good front of trust.

[[ That is entirely up to you!! c: ]]
Nathan nodded. "Pleasure," he answered. "Talk to you soon."
Austin was sitting under a tall, obviously old tree just by the entrance back to the Fae realm. He was preoccupied, playing with something in his hand. He wasn't really up to anything. Rather he was bored and in this day in age, it was difficult to be bored, with the war and all.

{Please don't make me decide if you were to ever meet my friends, they'd tell you that I avoid making decisions at every turn xD} Hydra nodded once, then turned tail and walked swiftly back to the diner, quickly turning over the information in her mind. How could she use it to her advantage? Yes, she would be on their side...until she got a better deal. She thought this over until she reached the diner, and finally checked the time and realized her day's shifts were over. Groaning because she had walked the entire way over for no reason, she walked back outside and located a puddle, an entrance to the fae realm. It was noticeable because, if one were to dip their fingers into it, they would come out dry. She stepped into the puddle and reappeared at the entrance of the realm.
She noticed a young fae, probably around her age, sitting by a tall, old tree. Decisively, she walked toward him. What else was there to do on a day like this, anyway?

Nathan watched Hydra for a moment and then looked over at Nick. "Who are you texting that's making you look that happy?" he mused, raising an eyebrow. He actually wasn't looking for an answer, but he felt the need to poke fun at the werewolf.
Kenzie nodded to herself and sighed, pulling herself out of bed. Let me throw stuff on and I'll see you in like 5. McKenzie was dressed in short shorts and a sports bra, having just finished training before staring at her wall bored, just moments before. She put a pair of skinny jeans on and pulled on her favorite pair of purple vans. The girl pulled on a white shirts and was off to meet Nick.

Austin looked up when he felt the presence of another Fae, one who'd just entered into the realm. Immediately his eyes spotted Hydra who'd just returned. He stood from his position and watched her for a moment. "Where were you?" he asked, skipping the small talk and introductions. Austin was one of the Queen's advisors and needed to make sure that things were okay on every front.

Your brother is annoying me now. Asking who I'm texting. Apparently I look happy? Whatever.

McKenzie looked at her phone as she left the Institute and could not help but laugh. You? Nick? Happy? Ignore him. I'll be there soon. But I'll wait for him to leave, she answered, smile on her face, making her look sort of foolish.
Nathan nodded. "Note to self, don't interrupt a texting werewolf," he muttered. "Well, I'm going to head back. I'm sure Kenzie will be in touch to keep you updated."

{Ok!}
"Good to see you too," Hydra mused. "I was doing my shift at the diner, Taki's. Nothing wrong with wanting some money in your back pocket." She smiled inwardly. She had learned long ago that the best lies were mixed in with a little truth.

Nathan waved as he headed off, lucky for the two, in the opposite direction from where Kenzie was coming from.
I'll be there before you get this text, she responded as she pulled her stele out to reactivate a faded rune, swift, allowing her to speed towards the park. To the spot that they usually met. It didn't take her long to spot her friend, as she approached the park. "Hey," she said with a smile, from behind the park bench.

Hydra sat down on the large roots of the tree, leaning her head against the knots of the wood. "Austin," she said slowly. "I think I've heard of you. I'm Hydrangea, but most people call me Hydra. It was fine, rather uneventful. Just the usual separation of the realms, all uniting in the need for food," she smiled lightly at the weak joke.

"I'd say it would be a much greater surprise if you hadn't," Austin answered with a shrug, taking his seat again. This time, however, his hands were still, whatever had occupied them before, no longer present. "Pleasure, Hydrangea," he said, giving her a sideways glance before resting his head back on the tree. "Food will drive many to great lengths," the diplomat affirmed with a nod, shaking his head with a small smile.

Hydra laughed at that. "I was trying to be discreet. You're one of the queen's advisors, right? What's it like?" She risked a glance at him, looking at his hazel eyes. The prettiest, she thought to herself. She laughed again. "You should see me when I'm hungry." She looked around at her surroundings. The sky was a clear blue, and the forest behind her held a whispering wind that blew at her hair. The fae's realm was a beautiful place to reside.

"It has its good times and it's bad times," Austin answered with a laugh. "I do what I have to for my people." He kept his eyes trained on a spot in the distance, not noticing the look she'd taken. "Well, let me know the next time you're hungry." Austin took in a deep breath, the clean, sharp air filling his lungs as he tore his eyes off the far off point. Sitting here by the entrance, even when it wasn't his job always gave him a sense of quiet and peace, odd, for this was the point of passing, the area with the most foot traffic. "Well, what are you up to, now that work is over?"

She wondered what he meant. To what extent did his loyalty run for the queen? Deep enough to kill for her, perhaps? Hydra smiled. "I will. Didn't realize being an advisor meant sitting out here watching the entrance, though." {I don't mean to be repetitive by saying that I just wanted him to tell her like a deeper thought or something idk} "Talking to you, I suppose. I'm gonna have to go back tomorrow anyway," she laughed. "I'm just saving up the money, waiting for a time I might have to use it. What about you? You don't seem to be on duty."

[[ No worries! ]]
Austin smiled sheepishly, as if he'd been caught. "It doesn't," he answered with a single-shouldered shrug. "Usually I'm by the queen's side, especially when she in meetings or has visitors. I'm out here to... get away," he said, struggling with the words for a moment. "The hustle and bustle at the center of the city can be overwhelming at times. Ironically, there's a sense of peace out here." He voiced his thoughts, turning to look at Hydra. "What does a Fae like you need to get that requires money?" He mused, ignoring the next question she had.

"I'm sure everyone needs a place of peace," she nodded. "Nothing, really. The money just takes a weight in my pocket that I take great comfort in. I guess it's my own place of peace. Besides, the diner gives me a chance to hear gossip or to meet new beings. It works out, really. There's not much else to do besides work these days anyway. So what do you get out of being the queen's advisor? The fame? Thinking you hold the fate of our realm in your hands?"

"Interesting that your place of peace travels with you," Austin noted, only slightly intrigued. He understood the appeal of money, but he never found it necessary in his own life. "Well, what've you heard through the grapevine? And have you met interesting beings?" He asked, now more interesting in what she was saying. Austin paused for a moment, figuring that he couldn't get out of this question. He shrugged to start with. "Nothing, I guess. I was born into the role. Nothing more, nothing less."

"Not very chatty, are you?" Hydra laughed at his feeble answer and his dodging her previous question. "Oh, just the usual werewolf, some gossip about who likes who; nothing one of the queen's most trusted advisors would care about." She let her distrust in the fae become clear on her face. He wouldn't tell her much, she wouldn't tell him much. In order to get something, you had to give something back. It was the law of conversation. Hydra considered what she could say next."So what's your stance on the war? Are you one of the blood thirsty or a peace maker?" It was a reckless question, she knew, but it would be difficult to dodge it.

Austin shrugged. He was always the quiet one, the one that people cast aside because he was observant. "That's the usual? You didn't hear anything about anything else?" He mused. "Wow, right to the point, aren't you?" Austin said, turning to look at the other fae. It was apparent that she didn't trust him, but what good would it do someone to trust the queen's advisor, the same queen who was casting the lives of fae people for a bloody war. "You'll just laugh at me for how I'll answer," Austin said with a shrug. "And what I say will affect everything."

Kenzie walked around to the front of the bench and sat down beside Nick, smiling at the phone's alert to the text she'd sent. "I have no ideas. I just needed to get out of the Institute. All they're talking about, between Alli, Nate, and Logan is how they're going to stop the war." The girl sighed and looked over at Nick. "Is there anything you want to do?"

How about we wander, and whatever makes your heart sing the most is what we'll do for a while?" she proposed, poking gentle fun at him.

Kenzie watched him go and stood up to follow after him. The Shadowhunter looked over at him with a smile as he led the way out of the park and towards the part of the city that was home to all the activities that Nick listed plus some. She didn't realize what was going on with Nick, but she knew what was happening to her whenever she was around him.
