WARNING!- I don't normally post this much, this is just for starters!! The city was desolate, scorched by the blazing sun. The buildings where large crumbles, their glass windows reflecting light like a thousand blinding spotlights. A soft humming filled the air and a black object, much like a large bullet, whizzed through the ruins, leaving a trail of dust behind it. Zola gripped the handles on her hover-cab. The vehicle was much like a motorcycle, but it was shaped like a bullet and lacked any wheels. Two small bug-leg looking extensions came out from each side of the mobile, providing two foot holds for her. Two handle bars stuck out from behind a clear glass windshield on the front, one having a small lever like that of a bike brake, only this one controlled the gas of the vehicle. The one on the other side was indeed a brake, however with Zola, the brake was rarely used. The vehicle hovered above the ground, thus the reason for its name, and its 'engine' was on the back of the mobile, pointing out behind the hover-cab. A series of buttons and switches sat below the windshield. One of which was a large blue switch controlled the engine. When flicked to the right the engine turned in that direction, shooting the mobile to the left. The same reaction can be found when the switch is moved to the left, only the direction of the vehicle is reversed. When the switch is pushed up, the engine moves up, blasting the hover-cab backward. When pushed backward, the hover-cab will move forward. And when left in the center, the engine will point down and blast the hover-cab into the air. At any moment or position, the switch can be pushed inward and the engine will shut off. Other buttons do many other things as well. Zola leaned to the right and the hover-cab responded to her weight shift, making a round turn around a fallen skyscraper. With one quick movement of her hand, Zola let go of the left handlebar and pushed the engine switch in. With a deep hiss, the hover-cab glided to a stop at the side of the skyscraper. Zola set her feet on the ground and pulled off her black helmet. Her dark red hair waved out behind her head, the thick braid whipping in the wind. She wore tan colored pants and a white shirt, they were loose clothes, also whipping in the harsh wind. A pair of worn, brown boots covered her feet, making her appearance seem as though she was a simple nomad, one of low rank. But she was none of that sort. Pulling a pair of sunglasses from her pocket and grabbing a backpack from the back of the hover-cab, she casually slipped the sunglasss on her face and made her way toward the skyscraper.

Oh, forgot to mention. You can make up your own technology and everything as long as it isn't over powered and stuff xD

Kaydon had decided to take a walk around the neighborhood a practice that was foreign to many. He came upon the skyscraper, and a girl just stepping off her hover-cab. He stopped and began to wish he owned one, but knew wishing was an idle man's work. The Dyer family knew how to work hard for the things you wanted, with six kids and only one parent working you also learned how to go without sometimes. Realizing he was staring at the girl's hover-cab, he managed to stutter, "Uhh, sorry, I really like you're hover-cab." Right after he noticed the girl was heading into the skyscraper, he sighed to himself, rubbing a hand over his pale face.

(Hello! I'm so glad someone joined xD) Zola almost jumped at the stuttering of another voice. She's thought she was alone. Taking off her sunglasses, she turned, trying to act casual. She tucked flying strands of hair behind her ear and looked at the boy. "Thanks...." She said offering a very short, but genuine smile. "It's the latest model-" She walked back to her hover-cab and stood beside it, still looking at him, "Uses solar heat to power the engine, has a adjustable engine, weight responding steering, and very accurate breaks." It could be easily noted that Zola was a bit of a technology know-it-all. But she enjoyed technology, even made some experimental things of her own as well. Zola glanced at the skyscraper, deciding she could spare a few minutes, "You ever driven one?"

((Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm so sad with posting this b/c I'll lose my rank, but I really enjoy rping. XD))
Kaydon nodded along even though he already knew all of the stuff she was saying -practically memorized it from the technology magazine on his tablet and had to stop himself from mouthing the words with her for fear of being to nerdy. He ran a hand through his curly light auburn hair, thinking smugly that any of his brothers would kill for a chance like this. Kaydon tried not to show his eagerness but failed as a grin formed on his freckled face. He finally answered her honestly with a forced nonchalance, "No, not really." He gazed up at the girl wondering if she'd really let him take it for a spin. These things weren't cheap, and definitely the most prized. Forget the legendary hover boards of the past, those went out a long time ago, so old each Dyer kid had one.

(xD I just noticed what your avatar is! You're a Harry Potter fan too?!)
Zola's lips twitched with amusement at the grin that crossed his face. It seemed she'd come across someone who was very much interested in hover-cab's and recent technology. Either that or he'd never actually seen one and the excitement was getting to him. She hesitated a few moment before answering, shifting her gaze to the hover-cab floating beside her. Her first reaction was to let him take it for a quick lap around the sky scraper. But if he crashed it, it was expensive. Her father and his organization were wealthy because of the secret work they did, but they would be infuriated if she came back from her assignment with a wrecked hover-cab. But it seemed rude to ask and then simply nod and walk away. Zola stretched out a delicate hand and pushed on the small top of the engine controller. The switch popped upward and the engine roared back to life. She looked back up at the boy, "Wanna take her for a lap?" She asked, lips raising in a hesitant grin.

((Yuppers! Which house? I got Slytherin on Pottermore but I don't know....))
Barely containing the excitement Kaydon forced himself not to bounce right then and there. He stuck his hands in his pockets to make sure he wasn't fidgeting to much. He almost jumped at the roar of the motor but grinned his own antics. "Sure, you'll probably have to show me how to use it though," he admitted knowing his pride would be smarting from that confession later.
((sorry it's kinda sorta short. I think it would be funny if he crashed it and then they have to find a way to cover it up or something. XD but he also could get stuck with her on mission for something I don't know.))

(I got Gryffindor on Pottermore, but I think I'm a bit of a Hufflepuff as well xD Definitely not a Ravenclaw though, that's for sure) Zola almost cringed right then and there. She wasn't much of a teacher. Then again hover-cab's weren't to complicated, right? True she'd been around then her whole life, but it wouldn't be to hard to teach.......hopefully. She quietly took a deep breath and nodded, "Right then. Well you'll have to come a bit closer to see how everything works" She said with a light tease, motioning for him to come beside her. (It's alright. Oh my gosh that'd be hilarious! He could crash it and them while they're trying to cover it up her dad finds out and in order for Kaydon to 'repay the debt' he has to go on missions with her. But he doesn't know what there all for and she's not allowed to tell. What if her dad and this organization are trying to like take over something? Or doing something bad???)

((I kind of like the idea of being a part of "the bad house", you know? XD I know I'm not a Ravenclaw either. I could pass for Gryffindor and maybe even Hufflepuff, but I don't think Ravenclaw.))
Oh man, Kaydon thought, being near a girl and riding a hover-cab in the same day?! This is great! Kaydon didn't really get out much, and when he did he was with his mom or brothers. The only experience he had with any estrogen was his sister who was now out of the house and married. Kaydon took an anxious step forward, resisting the urge to run his hands along the side of the hover-cab and check the motor on the back. "Right," he answered his hand sneaking its way out of his pocket and over towards the buttons under the windshield.
((My posts vary a lot so, apologies in advance. XD That'd be great because at first the dad would be like "what the heck pay for it" and Kaydon be like "what no I don't have that kinda money, i'm a dyer!" and then dad be like "hmph well then ummmm you have to go on missions with my daughter." and then Kaydon being like "that's a punishment sir?" oh my gosh. I think we found a plot. XD That would be so great, like her dad working for the wrong side and having Zola do all the dirty work and when they figure it out they try to thwart him or something? ahhhh I love plot bunnies. XD ))

(Yea, I know what you mean xD When I took my test I was secretly hoping for Hufflepuff just because everyone wants to be a Gryffindor, Ravenclaw's are a nope for me, and I figured I wasn't anywhere close to Slytherin xD)
Zola chewed on her bottom lip, unsure where to start. There were so many things to go over, so many buttons, so many switches. She quickly decided to just teach the simple stuff, he would only need to learn how to steer and control gas for one lap right? Zola reached across the hover-cab, pointing at the left handle, "This is the brake, careful with it, it's extremely touchy. You do not want to fly headfirst over a moving hover-cab, trust me. I've had the experience multiple times. Not fun." She said seriously. And it was true, she had multiple scars from those experiences, they were no joy. She paused, looking over her shoulder at the boy to make sure he understood her point.

((my friend took it before me and she was a Gryffindor and I wanted to be in the same house as her and when I got Hufflepuff I got shamed so bad. Like ummmmmm Hufflepuffs are the house that held the school together bc honestly, how do you expect Godric Gryffindor and Salazar Slytherin to stand each other without having someone referee their matches like ummm hello????? XD))
Kaydon nodded, drinking in every word the girl said. He tried to imagine the girl flipping head over heels on the hover-cab but with the dignified image she presented Kaydon couldn't dream of this girl screwing up on the bike. Kaydon glanced around the hover-cab's controls, there were a lot of switches, he wondered if the girl was going to go over every single one of the things. He sincerely hoped not, he didn't think he had that much patience.
((That's fine, Amber (is that all right if I call you that?). I really like the plot, should we keep the thread open or...?? I might have to poof for bed in a half hour or so.))
((EDIT:: I'm heading to bed now, I'm going to get up early-ish tomorrow so see you around whenever. hope we can continue this.))

(I know right!! Hogwart's would be nothing without Hufflepuff's because they keep everyone together. Plus I read online somewhere that Slytherin's main friends were Hufflepuff's because the Hufflepuff's understood them and didn't judge them on their house. I was like 'Yes! You see! Hufflepuff's keep the peace! They are loyal and sweet and they understand you! Everyone should love Hufflepuff's!' xD)
Zola nodded in return, an old habit of hers. She then pointed to the right handle bar, "This is the most exciting thing on the bike in my opinion. This is the gas petal. Also very touchy, but just hold on tight and you should be fine." She smiled and then pointed to the bug-like foot-holds. "Your feet go there-" She pointed to the smooth black leather seat on the hover-cab-"Rear goes there." She straightened, "That's about all you need to know for a simple lap. Oh, but make sure you sit straight with your weight even. It's very weight sensitive, you lean a little bit one way and it leans too" She cautioned and then took a short step back, turning to look at the boy. "You got all that?"
(You can call me Amber if you'd like xD Um, I'll go ahead and close the thread because it'll be hard to explain the plot to others and find a way to include them too.)

((#Hufflepufflove))
"Yup," Kaydon answered as he heaved an internal sigh of relief, she wasn't going to go over everything! Kaydon lifted him leg over the bike and positioned his feet where he was told too, glancing at the girl again he almost fell off losing his balance on the hover-cab. He began slowly, his foot barely pressing the gas pedal, as he gradually gained confidence. Edging along the sidewalk he then began to turn slightly, shifting his weight, but soon after realized she never really taught him. Barely containing his panic he managed to pass that corner, and let out a sigh of relief. In his relief he slouched again, and began to urge the hover-cab faster. The third corner came quicker this time not giving him to shift his weight just enough. As the hover-cab turned much to rapidly, Kaydon was thrown off the hover-cab and on the ground with a resounding thud. The hover-cab itself though was turned into the skyscraper. Thankfully the base was made of stone versus the glass outside, but it had destroyed the hover-cab completely. Groaning Kaydon took inventory of his injuries. His ribs were definitely needing to be looked at, his shoulder probably bruised, and his head was a little rattled. Nothing that would need checking out immediately except his ribs, no blood though which was always a plus in Kaydon's book, living with lots of brothers he knew how dangerous injuries were and how to fall without dying. Lots of grass stains on his shirt and jeans though from skidding in the grass. Shaking himself mentally he began his process of getting up and glancing around at the damage, only to see the hover-cab wrecked. Immediately he forgot about his pain and injuries and scrambled over to look at it. The hover-cab's motor was okay until it had turned into the skyscraper, Kaydon could already tell what happened. It had turned into the building and the motor tried to keep it going because the brake didn't stop it from going, and it burned up because there was no place to go. His greyish blue eyes widened at the scene suddenly realizing that this wasn't his bike. What would the girl say. Oh man he was in big trouble when they were done with this. He knew his family couldn't afford a new one. Oh man, was he going ot have to become a slave? Kaydon's mind reeled at all the possibilities.
((I hate doing this to him but it's kind of hilarious. And sweet Amber, that's what I was thinking. One of my PJO characters is named Amber. I guess you can call me Sky, personally I odn't know why I chose Moon Fire's Path for my screen name. I don't like being called Moon, it's just like....ick, that sounds weird to me. XD))

Zola stepped back further when he slowly began to edge away from her. She winced a bit as he seemed wobbly, but he got the hang of it, at least that's what it looked like. That is until he crashed. Zola's hand flew over her mouth, her eyes following the hover-cab as it flew straight toward the skyscraper. She wasn't sure whether to be angry or sympathatic. But she needed to get over there and see the damage. Zola ran over to the hover-cab, the boy tempararily forgotten. She dropped her backpack and shook her head at the damage. "No....he's gonna kill me" She groaned, quickly moving forward and switching the engine off. Grabbing the hover-cab by the back-end, she pulled it away from the skyscraper, grunting with effort. This was not good, not good at all.
(It really is funny xD I attually laughed the whole time I read it xD You're a PJO fan too?!?! Okay xD I'll just call you Sky then. I love the Moon honestly, I'm a bit of a star, moon, astronomy kind of freak xD)

Kaydon winced as the phrase that would probably be on his gravestone came out of her mouth. Dusting himself off he pulled up his shirt a bit to check his ribs once again and found that they were already turning black and blue. Yep, that'll make a nice hospital bill,he thought knowing that his parents would also kill him. Kaydon pulled his shirt back down and glanced up at her realizing he crashed the hover-cab. It was time to take responsibility. "I mean..," Kaydon began awkwardly. "He won't kill you if I told him I crashed it." He finally said. As custom as a sibling Kaydon was not used to announcing that it was his fault, only really blaming it on his younger brother Jaxon.
((Yeah...I hate torturing my charies but it has to be done. Yep, who do you think you're parent is? I'm thinking that mine is either Hermes or Poseidon. Hermes because I kind of do everything, jack of most trades, not great with pick pocketing or pranks though.. Poseidon because I love the water, not really ocean water but water in general, boats, lakes, ponds. Not though because I also enjoy flying. But I don't know. I'm not much of an astronomy person for some reason, like I saw the Perseids in August but like not a huge person. I did hear that there will be an eclipse next year in the US?))

Zola looked over her shoulder when Kaydon spoke, she'd practically forgotten about him in her worry for the hover-cab. "Well sure, then he'll just kill us both" She said in exasperation, throwing her hands in the air in her slight state of panic. Then suddenly realizing she was being dramatic, she turned. She hadn't even bothered to ask about the boy! He could've been hurt. "Are you alright? That looked like a rough fall" She asked suddenly, looking him up and down for an obvious injuries.
(XD I'm a writer so I feel like in both roleplay and books its my responsibility to make things hard on my characters xD Oh my gosh!!!!!! Poseidon and Hermes for me to! Mostly Poseidon because I have the same kind of personality traits as Poseidon and his children, plus I love water and swiming. The Ocean is kind of scary to me, but I love all other types of water related things. I'm even a horse lover as well xD And Hermes because I'm good at bing silly, pulling pranks, and sneaking around. I can't really run fast or pickpocket. But I can pick locks xD I guess for me it's really stars that I like the most, like constellations and planets. Stuff like that. There might be one, I'd have to ask Google xD)

"Well then we can die together," Kaydon said with a slight smirk. "Huh, what?" Kaydon answered the girl's question oh-so-intelligently, not really processing the question. "Yeah, lots of bruises, ribs might need a quick check but I'll be okay, I've got 5 brothers." As he went over his injuries he waved his hand around his ribs and his shoulder. He hid a wince when he accidently hit his ribs, and tried to hide it with a smile.
((True, true. I don't know about personality wise, for that maybe more of a Persephone (she's the one obessessed with cereal right? I can't remember...) or Iris. I'm sometimes to optimistic for my own good, but I could also be like Hazel or Piper, so *shrugs* I don't know. Ah, I wouldn't know that much, I just kinda nod and smile through those kinds of talks until we cover it in school.))

Zola rolled her eyes, "Ha ha, so funny" She said sarcastically and then raised an eyebrow. She'd caught that wince. Zola looked at him and propped her hands on her hips. "I'm not stupid" Zola said flatly, "something obviously hurts." She glanced back over her shoulder at the hover-cab, and sighed. How was she going to explain this one? Something beeped loudly on her sunglasses and she glanced down at the lens. Incoming call from- she swallowed nervously- Dad. (Yea, I think Persephone likes cereal and Iris is like a collector who sells things kind of like a gift shop.....I think so anyways. Yea....I'm not close to Piper, she's a bit more brave and outspoken then I am. I could be close to Hazel, maybe I don't know xD. Sounds like me when I listen to history)
