But honestly it was less of having a friend like her and more of how I SAW her. The absolute truth is that in the end she turned out to be just as jealous of me- mutual competitors, so to say. When I was younger I got really really hurt over it too, and I remember seeing or hearing about something she did and just feeling really empty in response to it. Try your best to remember that you've got talents too, and what you're feeling isn't because she's better than you, it's just one of those things humans are cursed with feeling sometimes, ESPECIALLY when you're growing up. If it helps to say after time I learned to genuinely appreciate both my weaknesses and strengths as well as her weaknesses and strengths, and come to terms with the fact that no one is really better than anyone, just different and diverse in many ways. I'm sure she feels similarly with you too Anyway I hope you feel better, I can definitely sympathize with how frustrating that is to deal with

okay I don't want to sound like I'm bragging which is why I put this in a spoiler but I do want to vent a little bit I…I think I am this friend and I don't want to be but I can't just stop…I try not to bring up anything related to test scores, class rank, etc. because I don't like making people feel bad but someone always asks…my best friend is really smart but her grades are almost always lower than mine (she did better than I did on most of our chemistry tests which was good) so she always just calls herself stupid and I know she's upset I want to help her but I'm so bad at teaching I don't know what to do and I don't think I'm really asking for advice but I guess I will ask but it's okay if no one has anything to say I just needed to say it
