Who do you think the StarClan cats in the prologue (the broad-shouldered dark tabby tom and the black she-cat) are? I think the tom is Raggedstar, but for the she-cat I can’t think of anyone but Shadowstar and surely it can’t be her, she’s too important for her name not to be mentioned or for it not to be clear that it’s her

I actually think it makes a lot of sense that it would be Shadowstar. Not helping Tigerheart would have led to ShadowClan being gone forever so I don't see why not let it be her. No cat was named in the prologue and Spire didn't know anything about the clans yet so her not being named doesn't seem like a big deal for me.
Maybe it's Hollyleaf and she remembers how her littermates and Tigerheart's toppled some trees on top of Littlecloud and Blackstar so she wants him to stay alive.
Also, reading the book, I didn't realize it was Spire so now I know he has 2 POV prologues, that's impressive.

For some reason, I thought that the black she-cat was Pinenose. Lol! But, in reality, who knows who it really is.

The prologue of lost stars had a StarClan warrior as its POV. I'm currently thinking it's Ashfur but maybe they're the same cat as the one here, seeing how highly they speak of Shadowsightpaw.

The prologue of lost stars had a StarClan warrior as its POV. I'm currently thinking it's Ashfur but maybe they're the same cat as the one here, seeing how highly they speak of Shadowsightpaw. The StarClan cat in LS could also be Spiresight himself! If it is Spiresight it would make me frustrated beyond repair. In VoS prologue Spiresight talked about how Tigerstar "begged" StarClan to let Spiresight in but Spiresight chose not to, making him not a StarClan warrior. Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I have a new theory/strengthening to the evil Spiresight theory/HC?: SPOILER FOR TBC Spiresight has been rejected by StarClan's new policy to begin judging cats (see difference between OotS:TFW where it is not StarClan's place to judge and between SqH where StarClan judges) and began antagonizing them. Instead of being in charge of the Ashfur thing like the theory originally suggests (which for me the VoS prologue disregards almost entirely), Spiresight is just using it to push his own agenda on how to change StarClan (which when you think of it, StarClan's ways have a lot of similarities to the Guardian Cats' way of life so why would Spiresight be so against them?)
sorry for this being messy, I'll explain more thoroughly in the next spoiler SPOILER FOR TBC (my entire thoughts about the theory) So I don't think Spiresight is the one responsible for Ashfur taking over Bramblestar's body.
The VoS prologue is filled with Spiresight not knowing a thing about Bramblestar's situation. He doesn't recognize any cats, and he's very concerned for Shadowsight.
On the other hand, He does use a lot of strange language which suggests that he might have anti-StarClan agendas, i.e. use of the word "begged", "the more I stay around, the more I think something is wrong". And he has an untrusting attitude towards Puddleshine and other clan cats.
In the end I think he might be an antagonist, but him being the one who put Ashfur up to this just seems for me too contradicting of Spiresight's other actions or thoughts.
