[ GRAPHICS TRAINING FOR Ƈσяαℓ Mєямαι∂ ღ ] using ; pixlr
Hello there! This is a page where I teach Coral some basics and techniques on what I know from pixlr.com/editor. I would like it that no one else post on this page, but if you are one to want to know and learn how to use pixlr, then please by all means bookmark and check this place out! You may like posts, but do not post -- think of it as a classroom of sorts. You may private message me for some questions if you have, or drop a post at my shop if you want ~

[ STEP ONE ]get to know your tools 1: CROP | select a square/rectangle-based area of your image, double-tap within the boundaries. you have cropped your image to that specific size.2: MOVE | the basic pointer arrow; you can move layer contents around your image.3: MARQUEE | choose between rectangle or elliptical shapes, drag across your image. cut/copy and move to a new transparent canvas to make circular/squared banners. use rectangle shape and outline long skinny shapes on image, press 'delete' on keyboard, and you've made a slice in a banner. repeat if desired for more slices.4: LASSO | free-draw a guide on image, must make a complete lap (end must connect to beginning). you've drawn your own shape -- use 3's instructions on copy/cut/delete.5: WAND | create for making png's. change and set tolerance, and select mono-colored spaces -- press 'delete' to delete them. best for single-colored backgrounds on images.6: PENCIL | set setting and change colors, and draw on image.7: BRUSH | you can change brushes (first setting, click arrow, "MORE..."). change colors and sizes (diameter) and create brush strokes on image. for complex brushes, best if used one click rather than 'drawing'.8: ERASER | you erase stuff. you can erase anything on any layer. you can also use the same shapes as in brushes.9: PAINT BUCKET | dump color on any surface!10: GRADIENT | create gradient backgrounds and such. if you want to make words/brush strokes a gradient color, select their pixels (under 'Edit') on their layer > create new layer > use gradient style on new layer. merge that layer down on words/brushes, then deselect pixels.11: CLONE STAMP | i personally dont know what this does so ignore it for now; will update when i figure it out.12: COLOR REPLACE | replace colors of things with new colors.13: DRAWING | choose between rectangle/rounded rectangle/elliptical/line shapes, change sizes and fill-in option. this is how i create overlayed borders on images; use on new layer with whichever styled you want, draw on border with either black or white, set layer to overlay, change opacity if needed, merge layer down.14: BLUR | blur parts of your image.15: SHARPEN | sharpen any part of your image.16: SMUDGE | take your digital finger and smudge and smear any part of your image.17: SPONGE | basically de-blurs colors and saturates lines. repeatedly do this and you can clean up a gradient to become color sections.18: DODGE | seems to bleach out coloring with every click you use.19: BURN | with every click and stroke, you basically "burn" that section. 20: RED EYE REDUCTION | works with literal photos with camera red-eyes.21: SPOT HEAL | probably best used for facial images. "heals" blemishes and spots by blending in the area with surrounding color.22: BLOAT | change size and click (only) on any area to 'bloat' or swell that area. rapidly click to get deeper effects.23: PINCH | basically the opposite of bloat tool, use same instructions though.24: COLOR PICKER | use the eyedropper and select any color by the pixel.25: TYPE | add text to images. change size, font, color and type! (how to get fonts: dafont.com or any other free font site).26: HAND | grab and move image/layer around; same effect as the move tool using the arrow pointer.27: ZOOM | zoom in and out. (or, you can scroll but using the scroll button on the mouse OR top right corner of pixlr screen.28: COLOR PALETTE | seven color boxes to choose from -- click on the large box to choose your color. large box indicates current selected color.

I've been messing around on Pixlr. I haven't saved anything, but is there a specific graphic you want me to make?

Good good. Well, you can try and create a basic Clan "welcome" banner -- those are simple.
Using any variation of tool usage you want, and whatever playing around you have done, follow this little guide: - find a cat image that's clear, can be stock or Warriors bc they're allowed now - use any color theme and mood you want - any shape you desire (square, rectangle, circle, etc) - create banner, complete with "Welcome" or "Welcome to the/our Clan"
Once done, post image here using imgur and I'll grade and give tips n.n

ah okie, transparency was tricky to figure out at first.
when you create a new image, with the resizing options, theres the transparency check box that you must check. then you create your image and all that. Once you're done, you have to save as PNG, it'll have better quality + it saves as transparent.

On the tool's guide above, I explained how to use the pallets ~
you also get your own color selection when you use text
click to create new text > by the font/size selection, there's a colored box. click on it. then select your color and hit OK. There ya go.
