[ Since the Finley in dimension M-239 would have likely grown up an entirely different person from what the Finley in M-117 is, you can kind of treat her as her own character. If it's easier for you to make up personality traits and stories between them than I'm totally all for this idea. Just thought it might help. ]

( That makes sense. I'm still figuring Finley out, she isn't mine after all, but I'm pretty sure Tori at least would do her best to avoid her sister. They were close, but she's so easily offended and such an angry person that it would take a long while for her to do much regarding that bond again. And, like you said, the two don't know each other. The Finley that Tori knew isn't the same as the one that showed up at her doorstep, and even if she was, she'd been dead to her for years. So yes, I agree, not much interaction between them.
Ooh, I like that. Maybe if said person stays with the Adlers for a short while before the New Order arrives, that could lead to a confrontation between Tori and Finley? That would probably be enough to push Tori over the edge. And then during that argument, somehow, they end up having to run? Speaking for Tori, I feel like the most natural way for her to interact with Finley for a good while would be through an argument of some sort, especially if they've been keeping their distance for a while. Alternatively, she could run into Finley as she's leaving and end up tagging along to get an explaination, not realising what she's getting herself into. The latter could be quite interesting, too, and maybe easier as well. I'm throwing both ideas out there, but I think the second might be better, personally.
Ah, thank you c: That would probably make it a lot easier, honestly. )
Tori glanced up to see her mother and sister return. She let her gaze linger on Finley for a split second before returning it to the task at hand. In just the split second she'd looked at her, a surge of anger had overcome her. She gripped the cutlery in her hand until her knuckles turned white, then gradually released her grip, exhaling slowly. She'd not spent all that time getting herself under control just to start shouting again within minutes. She could make it through this dinner, and then she could leave. She'd sleep for as long as she could β what else was summer for β and then she'd be able to breathe normally again. It seemed like a solid plan.
She stood for a few moments longer than she had to. Sitting down would lock her into the situation at hand. But, unfortunately, she could only wait for so long. She pulled out the chair furthest away from Finley. If she had to do this, there was no reason to make it difficult. For a fleeting moment, Tori considered glancing up from her plate, but she shot the idea down quickly enough. It wasn't a good idea.
Meanwhile, Dianna was rushing back and forth to place the dishes on the table. Given the occasion, the older woman was sure that it should have been more, so even after she'd placed the soup, bread and salad on the table, she seemed unsure. βI'm sorry it's not more,β she said as she took her own seat. βWe weren't expecting to do anything other than order in tonight.β Tori could understand what she meant, even if she disagreed. The dinner consisted of a meat soup made from the leftovers she's considered having for lunch, lightly toasted bread and a salad thrown together from what vegtables they'd had. She didn't point out that it was a better meal than the three of them had shared for a while, but she did give her mother a breif but warm smile to reassure her.
βWell, the important thing is who we're sharing it with, I suppose,β Dianna added in a genuinely bright tone as she started to pour soup into dishes. Tori nodded a thank you as hers was set back down in front of her, then prompty stared into it. In an effort to distract herself, she tried to find similarities between herself and the soup. Unsurprisingly, she found none. Still, she kept looking. As long as she did, she didn't have to think about the rest of it, and that helped.
Next to her, her mother started to pray. She voiced her thanks briefly, then asked for blessings, and then made a vague gesture to the food. βEnjoy,β she said. Tori didn't wait for more than a moment to start eating. The quicker she was done the faster she could leave. In that moment, she wanted nothing more.

[ Haha. As am I. I kind of made her up on the whim so I'm still trying to grasp her as a character. I've got ideas but they're still in the making. And that makes a lot of sense. I feel that if they did interact, Finley would just try her best to dismiss the situation. Tori is nothing more than a liability that she has to deal with and, seeing as she doesn't know her or understand their prior connection, she wouldn't know how to handle herself anyways. She'll try her best to ignore her. Tori seems really interesting. A lot of what she's feeling and doing makes sense for the situation. I'm just wondering how she'll handle the whole interdimensional, space travel thing. haha.
That would definitely work. I can't really see them interacting with each other much prior to the reveal. Especially since Finley's trying to keep everything a secret. After they're transported, I'm sure they'll have plenty to argue about. Their parents, their relationship, the portal gun and Finn's lie, Tori's predicament and whether she'll ever see her own dimension again. . It'll give them plenty of reason to converse. As for the other character, Finley would definitely pull them inside for fear that they'll be seen together but she'd get rid of them the first chance she got. I was thinking that interdimensional travel would leave a detectable trace of radiation on each traveler. If the New Order picked up on this trace, they could hone in and track her through different dimensions. So the idea is that Tori discovers the person and confronts Finley about it, the New Order shows up and Finley opens a portal. While trying to escape, Tori accidentally jumps through the portal as well. This is the plan?
np! ^^ ]
Dimension M-239 || The Adler Household The bowl before her was like a beckon of warmth. She could feel the steam caress her face, smell the soup's sweet aroma dance under her nose. Bringing her hands up, she clasped them tightly together and placed them under her chin, fighting with herself. She almost forgot her manners, the people around her. She simply zeroed in on the meal, her eyes round with hunger. Forcing them up, Finley looked to her mother as she spoke, studying her expression. In all honesty, she hoped the woman was joking. Pursing her lips into a thin smile, she said nothing and instead tried to compose herself. This was normal here and she shouldn't be angry, but it was hard convincing herself of this. She shook her head. This was more than enough.
Saying nothing as the woman continued, she instead watched in silence as her parents bowed their heads in prayer. It was odd, seeing her mother pray. In dimension M-117, her mother detested religion almost as much as she did the government. The two were practically synonymous anymore. She grew up listening to her mother's silent rants about how they were treated - abandoned in their time of need. It was because of them that she was almost taken custody of, removed and exterminated like some pest or disease. Her brows furrowed and her hands tightened their grip.
As her mother gave permission for them to start eating, Finley wasted no time in picking up her spoon. It was hard, trying to pace herself so that she wouldn't scald her tongue eating it so fast, but she devoured her bowl as quickly as possible. Wiping her lips with the back of her hand, she sat back for a moment, trying to savor the last taste. Already, her stomach started to turn. Sitting still, she looked up at the woman across from her at the table. She seemed focused on her own meal, not glancing up once. The room was quiet aside from the clinking of silverware. "That was fantastic," she offered. "Thank you."
Her father looked up from his own bowl, looking entirely too uncomfortable, and smiled in reply. "It is your mother's cooking." She snorted feigned amusement and nodded her agreement. The room fell silent again after that, no one knowing what to say or how to act. The veil of uncertainty that had plagued them at the door once more shrouded them. Finley simply stared at the table, trying to find names for the other foods. She felt too sick to eat anymore, the small amount she had had almost too rich for her to keep down. More than anything, she wanted to retreat to another room - perhaps her own here - and spend the rest of the day in sleep.
[ Sorry if this post is all over the place. I'm a little distracted at the moment. ]

[ Hey! I saw you around and was wondering if you were still interested in this. I'm slighty impatient, sorry. xp Tis mah nature. If you're just taking a break or whatever, I don't mind. I'd just like to know? If you're losing muse or inspiration, perhaps we could just do the time skip now and see if that helps any? ]

( haha, been there myself a few times. It's always interesting to have a character grow into being through rp, i think. we're in agreement then c: that's good. with even more screaming and angry crying, probably. that's how she handles most things. oh yeah, definitely. once everything (or, some of it at least, depending on how much tori finds out) is revealed, i'm sure tori will have trouble leaving finley alone, honestly. that makes sense, i think. there does need to be some sort of tracking system in place if we want there to be any reason at all for them to run, and that one makes a lot of sense. finally, yes, if it works for you i think that could work pretty well. )
Dianna smiled, thanking Finley for the compliment, but Tori was too busy staring down into her soup for the words themselves to register. She ate quickly, struggling to keep her composure. She felt crushed beneath the weight of it all, like someone was pressing down on her chest so hard that she couldn't breathe. She needed an escape, a way out, but there wasn't one. She was trapped in her chair by things such as expectations, norms and pride, but somehow that felt as restricting as chains.
She pushed her bowl a few inches forward, drawing a shaky breath as she did. She hadn't eaten much, she felt much too sick to finish the contents of her dish. Instead, she nibbled on a slice of bread. That went down without the struggle. To her relief, it didn't seem like anyone bothered to care.
When all that was left of her bread was crumbs and the silence was suffocating, Tori stood. Her chair pushed out with an ugly screech and she winced, taking her dishes into her arms. She placed them unceremoniously into the dishwasher. She was still avoiding eye-contact at any cost, turning her back to her family whenever possible.
βThank you, mom, dad,β she said as she returned to the table. She placed a hand on her mother's shoulder as a faint reminder of her earlier promise, then nodded to her father. She made no gesture towards her sister. Finally, she walked out of the kitchen, her shoulders slumping as soon as she left her family behind.

as someone who loses muse very quickly, with no warning and then also can't stick around for other reasons, i can't in any way be upset with you. i completely understand.
i'll be around whenever you get your muse back, absolutely! until then we could chat to keep the topic alive or just wait it out, whichever you'd be more comfortable with.
