ShadowClan has had a lot of cool deputies, but who did you think was the lamest? I'm only including ones who did not become leader, so no Raggedstar, Brokenstar, or etc. I'm also not including Cloverfoot, since she's still alive, and might be leader someday. Here's the list! Cinderfur

Either Russetfur, or Juniperclaw for me. One refused to help a lot while the other put an entire Clan in danger. I'd include Foxheart, but the worst she did was be a jerk.

Yeah, I don't understand why Foxheart gets so much hate, I know she wasn't very nice to Yellowfang, but Yellowfang wasn't very nice to her either. I mean, it's not like Tallstar and Shrewclaw, where Tallstar did absolutely nothing except have the parents he did, for Shrewclaw to dislike him. Yellowfang started out being rude to Foxheart, when Foxheart was a kit. But enough about that. I really don't understand Russetfur, in every book not from ThunderClan's perspective, she seems like a really nice cat. But not helping Berrykit was a scumbag move |

There's really nothing to like about her, she's just a generic bully who's mean to Yellowfang all her life for little to no reason other than for there to be a petty rivalry between them. And just because Yellowfang was also mean to her doesn't excuse anything. Two wrongs don't make a right, and I personally found Foxheart to be the worse of the two. There's literally a scene where Foxpaw even compliments Raggedpelt for a squirrel she thought he caught and is then disappointed when he tells her it was Yellowfang's. At least Yellowfang tried to put up with her for the sake of the Clan a few times or just ignored her completely when she could. Also, the worst thing Yellowfang did to Foxheart as a kit was not wanting to play with her. If anything, this just makes the rivalry appear even more petty than it already was. By the looks of it, she wasn't a good mentor to Nightpelt, either. At least with Shrewclaw, you can pretty much see why he was like this if you consider the tense environment he'd been exposed to since birth. |

My vote goes to Juniperclaw. Russetfur wasn't so great, either, same with Foxheart.

Juniperclaw was deputy for like one book before he died, plus he was an absolute jerk that I despised for the whole of TRS. Only redeeming quality is sacrificing himself.
Foxheart was a whiny cat who I never liked either, and although I wasn't glad she died, I wasn't sad. We get it, you like Raggedstar. We get it, you're meant to cause some petty love drama. Tbh she wasn't very deserving of deputy as far as I can tell. Bit sad that her name is an insult though.
I like Russetfur, at least in ShadowClan. Anywhere else she's a complete jerk. I want to like her, she seems cool, but alas. Then again ShadowClan was written as the jerk Clan.

Though, on the other hand, my vote would probably go to Brokenstar...you can't get much lamer than him. But if it wasn't for Raggedstar and his nepotism, Brokenstar would have never been deputy. But eh, he's an extremely manipulative guy, and ShadowClan is full of easily manipulated cats, I'm sure it wouldn't take him long to become leader. |
