How has your opinion on them (both as a relationship and individually) changed throughout the years, if at all? Personally, I never really liked them together even when I was first reading the first arc.
I also haven't liked Graystripe since F&I (though I'm hoping his upcoming SE will change that! after the first arc, I've just been mostly neutral on him) and though I liked Silverstream better by comparison, that's also not really saying much and I for one liked her more after she died.

I'm neutral on them. They did annoy me in Fire and Ice.

Personally, it's my favorite forbidden relationship. They're young, dumb, and in love. They suffered consequences. It's tragic. I just loved the way it was portrayed.

Graystripe was my favorite character up until I read Po3 and changed my allegiance to Jayfeather. And he's still pretty far up there.
I guess since I was a child, I've come full circle on Graystripe. I loved him at first because he was funny and I thought he and Fireheart were best friends. Then as I read other's opinions on him, I began to see how he wasn't being a good friend, and was neglecting his duties, etc., and I thought "you know what, maybe he's not such a great guy after all". Then I reread TPB (and all the other arcs) and saw how he was portrayed, and I love him again, but in a much more nuanced way. Like, I accept the bad things he's done and I love him anyway.
Silverstream I didn't like very much as a kid, but I love her now, at least in arc 1 (all StarClan appearances by her rub me the wrong way). I think she has a very strong personality and is willing to fight for what she believes in, and I deeply admire her.
As for their relationship, I think it's the most well-done forbidden relationship. For one, it doesn't involve a POV character, so it doesn't feel forced, and the little hints we get before the reveal are done really well. Yes, they're both dumb, but that's part of their characters, so it really feels realistic. I've always felt this way.

When I initially read the books (years ago now) I was indifferent to it and thought Graystripe was just being annoying. But going back and reading it now (I am currently reading through the saga), I think I like it a lot more. The pair were obviously so stupidly in love despite all the potential problems that could happen. Graystripe doesn't seem annoying to me now as much as he is just... in love with someone he shouldn't be. In fact, I think Fireheart is a bit more annoying because he is being pretty hypocritical talking about loyalty when he frequently met up with Princess at the same time.
I totally understand why they killed Silverstream off - or else it would have made Graystripes journey much more difficult - but I really did enjoy their relationship. We don't see it often but the few moments we do see it, Graystripe and Silverstream are described as happy, purring, kneading the ground with anticipation, etc. As a romantic myself, I feel for 'em. That's probably why I enjoy it haha.
Regardless, it ended and I have to say, I don't really like Millie. I think she is annoying in the Briarlight situation (which I suppose was the point) and she just never recovered from there, personally.
