I found The Roging Storm (TROS) to be very lacking in solid plot or pacing. The characters felt stiff and lifeless, and the romance was... poorly conceived, to say the very least. Not to mention the plot twist. There's a difference between being out of left field and so completely off the rails you've fallen all the way to another continent. Genuinely one of the worst pieces of media I've consumed this decade

True, What he did disturbed me even more than Ravenwing's after-death scene, and that scene literally haunted me maybe it's just all the horrible things i've read and scene but Ravenwing's after-death scene did little for me. MpV did very little in general for me. Yeah, I mean, I've read wayyy worse stuff, but it was just shocking that it was in a book like this

I like the second and third books of AVOS, and the fourth book is alright too.

I'm currently reading it! I'm on book 4 and honestly I love it a lot. I stopped reading after OOTS came out for a bit, so it's been a while, but I remember not liking PO3 and OOTS that much due to just generally not liking the POV characters and the whole power thing (but I'll re-read them after I've caught up to see if I'm misremembering it) so this arc is pretty refreshing to me!

SAME about Power of Three, Omen of the Stars was a little better because it didn't have Snoreleaf, but it still had Grumpfeather

I haven't actually read AVOS, only learning about it on this forum. And from what I've learned of it...I'm actually glad I didn't read it. It wasn't awful, but I couldn't find myself really liking it.

Idk where dislike/hate for the series overrides the like. Really it's always been that the first half is better than the second half. I wouldn't say people hate the series based off that, more like the general consensus is mixed opinions that shift with the direction of the arc, if that makes sense.

The Apprentice's Quest was okay, I loved Thunder and Shadow and Shattered Sky, but Darkest Night was a drag to get through and so far River of Fire is turning out the same way.
