Boulderclaw and Liontail The gray tabby tom had been up for a while, too restless to sleep with the approaching dawn. Boulderclaw felt like he should be doing something instead of sleeping but didn't feel much up for hunting. He had gone out to do a little patrol by himself, enjoying the quiet before everyone got up. It was nice to be alone and not have anyone's expectations on you yet, to just do what you wanted to do. He had seen Nettlefang running about but didn't call out a greeting, wanting to enjoy the silence for a bit longer. As he approached camp the excited squeal of apprentices assaulted his ears. His whiskers twitched in mild irritation, he was still wanting to hold onto the quiet of the morning. But his guilt pushed him closer to camp, he would need to be around to be assigned to a patrol. It was then that he caught sight of Liontail sitting in a secluded looking spot. He approached the younger tom and would have raised his tail in greeting, if he had one. Instead he nodded, his yellow eyes friendly, and sat near enough to the tom to be friendly but not enough to invade personal space. He remained quiet besides a relaxed sigh, happy to enjoy some quiet with a clanmate for a while. <Raintalon> Ripplepaw and Dreampaw The dark she cat was returning from the dirtplace as she heard the commotion from the other apprentices. She was happy for them, but wanted nothing to do with the younger apprentice task they were surely being given. Ripplepaw was beginning to feel much too big for the apprentice's den at this point and was eager for the day she would get her warrior name. She even sat near the warrior's den to groom herself, trying to pay no mind to the chattering apprentices. She was trying to wait patiently for her mentor to wake up and take her out but she soon got distracted. She kept stealing glances at the happy apprentices and wondered where the other ones were. In particular Dreampaw, she liked the tom that had a dark pelt like her. She felt like they stuck out more from the other more lighter colored apprentices. She looked around for him, ready to sneak away to talk to him instead of waiting for her mentor. mintedstar/fur🦇 (Will post Hollow and Storm's Breeze later unless someone wants to interact with them now)

Saltsong, Cricketfrost | Warriors den Saltsong watched the dramatic display, unamused. "You were in my nest," she grumbled, sweeping her tail closer to her body as she settled into her now Cricketfrost free nest. She shut her eyes again, chasing the dark remnants of whatever is was she had been dreaming about before being disturbed. Probably the ship. It was usually the ship. With any luck she could steal a few more moments of rest before the day truly began. Sunpaw, Birdpaw, Blinkpaw, Mintface | Camp Sunpaw refrained from bouncing with excitement, though their tail waving high gave it away. "We'll make the others so jealous," they snickered, then nodded quickly at Birdpaw. "Of course I'm coming! I was the first one up." They weren't sure why Mintface was being weird about it. Maybe it was just because he was older than all of them and had already done it before. Well, Sunpaw certainly wasn't going to let Mintface's less than stellar mood ruin this for them. Shivermask, Moonflower | Warriors den/camp Shivermask stretched languidly in her nest, then gave her chest a few quick licks. Peering around, she found Moonflower nowhere in sight. Perhaps she had already headed out. A startled yelp suddenly caught in Shivermask's throat as claws breezed through her fur. Leaping to her paws, fur bushed out, she spun around to find Flintfeather shredding his nest in his sleep. She sighed, the adrenaline seeping out of her, though her heart remained beating quickly in her chest. Shaking herself, she turned and left the warriors den, immediately catching sight of her sister. Trotting over, she butted Moonflower's flank with her head, purring, "Good morning."

Blinkpaw nodded vigorously. “We’re all definitely going,” he said decisively. “We woke up super early, and clearly Eclipsestar thinks we’re good apprentices if she wants to take us on a special adventure with her.” The young tomcat’s eyes gleamed, and he held his chin high. His eagerness for the adventure ahead was clear in every word. “The others will just have to try harder next time if they want to go. And wake up earlier.”

Ripplepaw and Dreampaw | Camp | Kermode And Dreampaw was there, waiting in the shade. He blended in like a badly shaded blotch of dark against grey. When he noticed Ripplepaw's eyes on him, his eyes slightly widened in surprise before he lifted his tail and waved it several times in greeting. He walked over to the other apprentice - despite the fact she was older then him by several moons they still got along - and asked, "Hey. How are you doing?" He glanced at the apprentice huddle. "Avoiding the masses?" He seemed amused at the idea. "What were you doing today? Did Cricketfrost plan anything with you?"

Moonflower and Shivermask | Camp | IceclawMoonflower turned as someone bumped into her, and her expression softened into recognition and happiness as she realized it was her sister. She butted Shivermask back, a purr trilling in the back of her throat. “Morning, you.” She answered, and grinned, ears flicking back. “I was just looking for someone to drag hunting with me. What do you think? I bet I can catch something first.” She wasn’t actually sure of that. Shivermask was a very good hunter, better, Moonflower sometimes thought, than she was. That wasn’t to say she wouldn’t try as hard as she possibly could to beat her sister, though. She had a healthy competitive streak.

eclipsestar & sunflowergrin // // camp Moonstar of ValleyClan Iceclaw mintedstar/fur🦇 <Raintalon>
The palpable energy of the apprentices seemed to lightly amuse the calico molly, flame-bright gaze blinking slow, reptilian-like, as she watched them flit and prance about her like colorful hummingbirds. To Birdpaw, there was a hint of tooth in the curl of her maw as she spoke lightly-
" Yes, you are welcome to come along. You are all approaching your warrior status, the more the merrier as we go. "But, for a brief moment, her gaze narrowed and there came, quite literally, an eclipse over her visage as she spoke in a voice much more serious, the sweet-notes of her voice exchanged for something analytical, factual-" But this is no game. You need take care to follow our example when we are out on the rounds- there is no telling what you can find in the forest when you step foot in it. Be careful, as your mentors have taught you to be. "With that, the broad-shouldered feline stepped away, muscle bunched well and stern along her figure as she gave a nod to Mintface. to Sunflowergrin, before merging with the darkness of the entrance to camp. And it welcomed her, embraced her, like an old and teasing friend, and all that was visible of her was the brief flashes of flame across her pelage and the flag-white of her tail-tip as she led them into the territory beyond.Gathering behind the apprentices, Sunflowergrin took up the rear position, snakeskin figure something like a moving mirage in every step, the gold flecks of her eyes bright and sharp as pirate's gold in the lush green of the rest. Unreadable, untouchable- even more so than Eclipsestar- but her smiles were easier, more laid-back, more languid as she peered at the group, leaning down and murmuring to them like she was telling them a secret-
" Don't forget to look for any pr~ey tha' you can impress the Madame with. She'll be so very proud of you! Use this as your chance to show her what go~od apprentices you all are. "The lilt of her voice was perhaps odd in the clan, but for those who knew Sunflowergrin, it was the usual way she always spoke- melodic, like she was always on the verge of breaking into a song (of which, she was very good at). Her gaze practically sparkled with honey-drip and dragonfly wing glitter when she winked at them before tossing her exotic, thin cranium forward, shepherding them onwards.
For a long moment, Mistfalls was silent. As though in countenance, or in the usual melancholy quietude that she always seemed to have, a dark cloud of miasma following behind her wherever she went. Perpetually trapped in some kind of regret, of some kind of sadness, expressed in the abyss pit of her eyes- the blue one, a bottomless ocean, and the green one, an endless forest.
It just seemed to be the way she was.
Her voice was soft-spoken when it came again, but definitive-
" No, just observing "To Mousefall, her head turned towards him and she stared with a sort of eventide in her gaze, assessing him for a touch longer before speaking once more," ... I can feel the kits, but I am not sure how many there are. "A simple statement, one that could be offered help for or just acknowledged.
To Waterstripe, his concern, so genuine and honest, had her gaze pinching for a moment, peering at him closely and with a more emotional glean to her eye than the usual melancholy. He was kind. Strong. The chosen deputy of the clan, of the Vipers of the Lilies, the tribe amongst the woods that they fed and it them. She remembered, not so long ago, she had taken a path and followed it true, even when her limbs ached and her eyes had grown heavy from struggling to see past the darkness.
Recalled the twin candles burning in front of her face, the cool voice that had guided her the rest of the way, short fur silken-soft when it had brushed against her body, assessed her injuries and state of her swollen stomach.
Appraised, in a way that pulled the skin off her body and bore her heart to those searching eyes, so deeply and intensely that her body had shook from head-to-toe in awe and terror in a way she'd never experienced before that moment.
Almost collapsed in relief when the voice had spoken again- you are welcome here." I was remarking on current affairs. One being that Mousefall never has to worry about lacking herbs, considering Sunpaw's energy and Sunflowergrin's attentions. "For a moment, there was a genuine, however small, upward curl to her lips as she spoke, wistful and amused in some way. Something like happiness in the glint of her teeth, looking to Waterstripe with a touch warmer gaze-" And you... some cats are wanting for a patrol, I can hear... Eclipsestar is leaving for her rounds. Will you be leading another patrol, or are you staying here... in her place? "Gentle question in her soft voice, blinking at him with a quiet sort of genuineness, her own kind of sincerity that was like his and yet expressed differently. Like she did care. Was interested, in what he did from day to day as the kind of cat he was.

Mintface stayed by the two apprentices just long enough to hear Sunflowergrin's words before he moved after the leader. His pawsetps were light, his legs moving high as he darted after her. He had none of her grace or ability to blend in with the forest. Instead his pelt was bold - white and pristine. It was just his mask around his eyes which deflected attention. It seemed to be something he could hide behind. Even though he couldn't move with the forest like Eclipsestar could, he soon broke into a rhythm that any warrior would be proud of. He was hyper aware of the prey that might lurk everywhere, waiting to be caught. It was something he preferred to warriors' training - hunting felt like it could be part of his life blood. But he ignored those feelings too and instead glanced over his shoulder at the apprentices. It all seemed a bit hero warship during this trip, but he didn't find anything to really complain about it. It was too nice of a day.

Blinkpaw paused for a brief moment, considering Eclipsestar’s warning to tread carefully. But this hesitation lasted less than a heartbeat, and as soon as their leader started into the forest, the young tomcat hurried after her, his tail high and his overly-eager paws stumbling over any bit of debris on the ground. “We’re going on a special adventureeee,” he whispered in a sing-song voice, glancing at the other apprentices with a gleam in his eyes.
With surprise in his eyes at the fact that she even replied, let alone took interest in his day, Waterstripe had to wait for a moment as he struggled to gather his thoughts. “I... well.” He let out an uncertain sigh and shrugged, glancing towards the entrance where Eclipsestar was just leaving with the apprentices in tow. “I’ll likely stay here until she returns. I doubt they’ll be gone long, especially not with that group.” He huffs in amusement, his whiskers twitching. “Quite a bit of energy between the lot of them.” He remembered being that energetic during his own apprenticeship, and felt a familiar jolt of nostalgia for his younger days.

Moonflower and Shivermask | Outside Camp | Iceclaw Moonflower followed her sister, laughing lightly under her breath. “That’s supposed to make me want to take him?” She questioned innocently as she caught up. “I like my pelt just the way it is, thanks.” She hadn’t gotten to just..joke around like this in a while. It felt easy, natural, the way it had ever since they were kits, and Moonflower wouldn’t have traded it for anything. They’d always had each other’s backs and they always would, right? “Where should we go?” She continued, settling into step beside her sister. “I’m in a bird mood, honestly.”

Chaotic Apprentices’ Club
“Yup. There’s a reason the warriors always bug us to get up early,” said Birdpaw, nodding wisely. “They always save the fun stuff for the cats who listen. Oh, he’s going!” And with that, she bounded ahead of the other two, racing to catch up to the older warrior.
“So what are we doing?” she asked, keeping stride with Mintface so she could see his expression. “Hunting? Patrol?”
Salted Crickets are a Bad Combination
Cricketfrost watched his Clanmate settle back down again, ears flicked forward as he waited for some further reaction, or for her to get up. He waited for a minute or two, staring expectantly at her through wide eyes, and then when she didn’t move, a paw crept out of his nest, moving very, very slowly forward to flick her ear. It was like a compulsion - he was always bored, and other cats always provided the best entertainment. Especially Saltsong, because she was always so grouchy.
Lion and Boulder
Liontail glanced at his new companion, a bit surprised that his usual routine of solitude had been broken. He wasn’t exactly sure what to do now.
”Hello,” he said hesitantly, not sure what else to say. “It’s a nice morning, isn’t it?”

Sunpaw | Forest | Eclipsestar, Sunflowergrin, Mintface, Blinkpaw
Sunpaw blinked at Eclipsestar's words. The forest was safe enough, wasn't it? Sure there were some cats outside the Clan wandering around, but as long as they didn't cause trouble it was fine. Flicking their tail, they quickly disregarded the words and bounded after Blinkpaw, grinning at the sing-song whisper. They trotted alongside Blinkpaw, keeping ahead of Mintface, but behind Eclipsestar and Sunflowergrin. Mintface was a bump on a log, and Sunpaw didn't think the leader would appreciate them racing ahead. Even so, they found it difficult to keep their mouth shut. "So where are we going?" they asked, prancing closer behind Eclipsestar.
Shivermask | Outside camp | Moonflower
"Of course it is," Shivermask teased, padding out of the camp, enjoying the breeze drifting past her whiskers. The cliffs called to her, but she knew they wouldn't find many birds there. It was too wet and windy. Besides, she didn't want her sister to suspect anything was wrong. She knew if she went to the cliffs, she would spend time gazing longingly out across the water. She couldn't explain that to Moonflower. "We could head for the trees by the Storm Pool?"
Saltsong | Warrior's den | Cricketfrost
Saltsong's drifting was interrupted by someone- and she knew exactly who- flicking her ear. She stubbornly remained where she was. He wanted a reaction, and he sure was going to get one if he did it again.

Blinkpaw trotted along happily beside Sunpaw. He flicked one ear as Sunpaw asked Eclipsestar what the plan was for this special patrol, attempting to listen for their leader’s response, but true to form, his attention wandered in an instant. He glanced overhead at the sunlight streaming down to the forest floor, and then studied the different shadows along the path the older cats followed through the trees. Huffing quietly with laughter to himself, Blinkpaw took an extra long step in order to cover a particularly round shadow with his front paws. He blinked, recalling Eclipsestar’s warning of danger, and struggled to regain focus on the patrol.
