And here we go! I wanted to get this up before I had to go to work just so I didnt have to worry about it later also pay no mind to the fact I completely messed up the title please xD
Julia/Amaryllis | Female | 22 | Firebird A firebird is a medium sized bird with a plume and long tail feathers that glow red, orange or yellow. The feathers do not stop glowing even if removed, and one is enough to light a full room with no trouble. The glow of the firebird is said to have natural healing properties, as many patients who were tended under the light of the firebird's feather reported to have been healed faster than those who were not tended in such conditions. Firebirds are considered beautiful singers, their calls once were descried as if pearls were coming from their beaks. Most older Firebirds are able to transform between a human and bird form, the human form's hair keeping the same color as their feathers.
Julia is an average firebird, she has long red-orange hair and she is a bit smaller than others of her species. Her eyes are a piercing icy blue to match her almost crystal like eyes of her bird form. She normally tries to wear comfortable clothes, opting for a baggy sweatshirt and baggy shorts on her day to day life. Obviously for book signings she has to wear more formal attire, and so she settles for a white short sleeved dress that goes just barely down to her knees.
Julia is very excitable, she almost always expresses her excitement in grabbing the thing nearest to her and holding her breath. She is very open about her life and has done many q and a's about her day to day and her family's business. She is very uncertain about her future, having spent most of her life chasing someone who probably doesn't exist in this time period, but she tries to keep a hopeful attitude for her future as she feels a lot better with the money she has been making from her books.
Amaryllis is a lot different personality wise to Julia, she is very hard headed and stubborn to what she wants to happen. She is very slow to trust and very quick to distrust. She does try to keep conversations she has with those she trusts light, and is really open to people once they gain her trust.
Ekho/Lucerno || Male || 24 || Ghost There are many ways to make a ghost, but being born as one is different. While some are completely intangible, barely detectable to the average human senses, others are closer in relation to a human physicality. These kind are able to control their body's mass, whether becoming solid or not when being touched, appearing or disappearing from sight, even having the ability to phase through objects if they dissociate their mass at a large enough rate. Very rarely are these vengeful during their ghostly life - rather, the majority of those who were born ghosts are normalized in society, and are able to co-exist with other races.
Ekho has a typically ghostly appearance - although solid in flesh, his body has a transparency to it that alters the way light behaves around him. One could see through his body, but when touching him, would feel his warm flesh and pulse. His skin is a pale gray shade from the top of his scalp to the soles of his feet, his tall body lean and toned, lanky in silhouette. His eyes are a dull periwinkle color, though at times appearing a milky white, especially during the night. The shape of his eyes are droopy, almost sweetly in manner, and are his most pronounced feature. Rivaling the color of his subdued eyes, his messy hair is a stark white in comparison to his skin; it is short and tousled, with a layered fringe that frames the sides of his face. Ekho's usual attire includes flowy outfits that are unrestrictive of his movements, playing on his ghostly semblance, and consists of lighter colors such as whites and grays, thus enhancing his monochromatic guise further. One particular accessory he always has with him is a large black scarf, which also functions as an oversized hood that masks most of his face.
In terms of character, Ekho is a shy one, muted in speech and careful in manner. He is always cautious of the environment around him, shown physically by how he keeps his visibility to a minimum, silent in the shadows to avoid direct contact with anyone who he considers suspicious. No matter his timidity, he remains relatively friendly to those he shows interest in, and is a calm presence within his circle of acquaintances. Rather than being serious, Ekho is easily flustered by kind words and teasing jests, bashful in the company of those more extroverted than he. As of his rebirth, he currently has no clear memories of his previous life with Julia, but occasionally has 'dreams' about a person named Lucerno, who, unbeknownst to Ekho, was his past self who was in love with her.
Events of the past life [/spoiler][/ul]

that sounds good! i think that would be really helpful for the RP. my day was pretty great - i'm finishing up school this year, so just busy with that for now! i'm really excited to be done with it cx
so! did you have any other thoughts for the world before we get started? i wanted to see if there's anything we could brainstorm together, just to get a feel for the setting. if not, we can totally go ahead and start, no problem! i'm looking forward to writing with you :'D

I didn't think too much of the world, I was going to go for an alternate earth, the geography is the same but there are differences such as names of places and such but I would be down to make up a world. Like I was planning on the big 'LA' / 'movie land' area to be in the same location as our Paris would be.
On a side note I did some looking into how movies are made and hoo boy, that is extensive O.O

oh i see! that sounds pretty good, i don't mind an alternate earth setting! i feel it's easier to imagine/write ^^
wow, i bet it is! if you'd like, we don't have to go too into the details of the movie-making during the RP. maybe more about the interactions between julia + ekho with the movie-making ordeal in the background? or whatever you originally had in mind would be a-okay c:

Ya, just for reference the general geography of their past life was traveling like this in the first leg of their trip and the kingdom Amaryllis was from to be like where Brazil is it was a mix of both but the biggest thing is we have plenty of time from casting to the first shoot where the two can get to know each other better :3 Like casting happens before even the sets are planned out which is crazy

coolio! thanks for taking the time to show me :'D no wonder movies take so long to come out. they have to hurdle all the actors in before they even make the sets! that's pretty cool cx alrighty, your idea is great! did you want to start with julia's pov or ekho's? i'm a bit occupied atm so i won't be able to post ekho's starter until later - hope that's not a problem! you're welcome to start first, of course, and i'll add ekho in as we see fit.

It had been a whirlwind for Julia for what she felt like was forever. Screenwriters asking her questions about which part of the book was important so they can cut things out, or asking her about the characters to see if they would realistically do a certain action. If it wasn't for the fact she still had to work on the third and final book of her trilogy she was certain she would have to live in the basement of the director's home so he could ask her questions at 3 am. The movie for her first book, Ghostly Feather, was far from being complete. To her dismay she had been told about the long and painful process that was to come. Right now they were trying to cast all the characters. Amaryllis was long and hard to choose, eventually the casting director pushed her up and said that based on what she demonstrated during other auditions that she was 'perfect for the role'. Lucerno was another story. He was a special character that needed the right type of person to play him. Not a single person had reached that level, and with more pressure for picking one by the next morning, Julia was just stressed.
So there they were, only letting a few more people audition. They were lucky the Theater in the area had let them use their space for another day or the crew would be SOL. Already a few people had left in a hurry once they entered the room and realized that this was not the audition they had signed up for. "Let the next person in, send the rest home." Julia heard the angered voice of her casting director beside her. "After this we will meet at the office to make the decision. You wont run away this time." Julia laughed at his remark, Ben was normally a very kind and patient person, but she seemed to have completely reached his limit. "I understand. Thank you for allowing me to be picky up to this point"

; ahh, sorry for being late!! here's my reply, sorry it's pretty long! i just wanted to add some extra details, i hope it looks good c: --- Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out ...
What has he gotten himself into this time?
Ekho wasn't born with a natural flair for the arts. He wasn't even a dramatic person himself - let alone when prompted. Of course, when an opportunity to be a play presents itself, and one has always wanted to be in play since he was a child (but was overlooked both figuratively and literally) one would naturally jump at the chance. Despite not having the most flexible personality for the stage, Ekho had found himself wishing to partake in the dramatic arts from time to time, especially when he was younger. Many times did his school have plays that he could have been a part of. Many times did he want to say, Yes, I want to be tree number 2! Let me! but just as many times did he back out at the very last minute, too frightened by the butterflies in his stomach and the blinding lights of the auditorium.
This time, he resolved in his heart, I'm really going to do this.
Of course, he had resolved this before finding out the real role he was auditioning for.
"This is for a movie?"
Ekho looked up from his clasped hands, holding his script in place to hide his shaking, to glance at a nearby boy whose baritone voice flew up a few notches from shock. He currently sat among a dozen of other young men, all relatively similar looking in regards for the role they pinned for, who had remained eerily quiet up until this moment. A confused murmur started up among them, and the poor young clerk who faced the first boy could do nothing but nod, almost fearfully.
"There has to be a mistake. I thought this was a play, not a movie. Are you sure this isn't for Glory's Edge? Seriously? This better not be a joke." The same boy, his voice now sounding panicked, questioned the clerk loudly, causing her to shake her head once more. Ekho could feel his heart drop, just as he was sure others were, for at hearing that news more than half of the men rose up from their seats to leave, their murmuring matching the boy's panic. At the sudden noise the ghostly boy shrunk back in his seat, instinctively turning transparent out of surprise. It wasn't until the room became silent again that he returned to his normal state, peeking through his hood to see who remained.
" ... Looks like you're up next."
The clerk, now looking tired, spoke out, looking in his direction in what he assumed was wariness, as if he was going to snap at her any moment. This time he pushed his hood from off his head fully, returning her wary gaze as he stood up slowly.
"Okay." He said, and felt his heart blend into his skin.
---
The lights were blinding, so much that he was sure he looked invisible. It took a few moments for his eyes to blink away the brightness, speckles of black floating in his sight meanwhile, but when he regained it he was already standing front and center of the stage. It was much larger than he expected, and a nervous smile made it up to his lips as he took one more look around.
"Um. Hello. My name is Ekho. I'm supposed to be auditioning for the role of 'Lucerno'? So, uh ... I'll be reciting my lines. Yeah."
When he managed to finally get a good look at the casting crew, he found himself clutching his paper with a splurge of fear, but was able to greet them with a kindly smile nevertheless. He cleared his throat, his attention now on his script, willing himself to perform as normally as he practiced, taking a few breathes to control his beating heart.
"Why would I keep you from your home? Everyone's surely missing you. Fly to them, Amaryllis, do not hold back on your yearning ..."
It felt as if these words were all his own.
---
" ... As surely as I live, I will stay by your side. Evermore, my love."
With that, the young man spoke his last, his eyes only having to look down at his paper a few times to remember his lines. It was rather scary how much he memorized them, and briefly he wondered why.
"So, um," Ekho cleared his throat and mind as he composed himself, his previous stance of quiet confidence returning to his own conscious one, "Is there anything else? Or should I just ... leave?" He awaited their command, while one of his hands reached up to fiddle with his scarf out of habit.

(dont worry about post length, sometimes I can go a bit crazy with my posts too ) Julia eyed the last person as he entered, she had seen many people that looked similar to Lucerno so she really wasn't that excited by how similar he looked. She took note of his posture and general demeanor as he prepared to recite lines, and all she could really take out of it was that he really didn't seem like he was ready to audition for this big of a role. Once he started to speak, however, that was a whole different story. Julia found herself instinctively grabbing onto Ben's arm with both her hands as if she was trying to communicate something through them. She needed to hear more, what he just did was close to perfect. No, she hadn't heard a single person that matched as well as Ekho's performance. "Wait. Wait just a moment" Julia hurriedly tried to stop him, releasing the death grip she had on Ben and now sifting through the script she had in front of her. "Uh this line isn't in your's but wait" Julia scooted herself away from the rest of the casting crew to make her way to the stage, hearing a quiet complaint behind her but all but ignoring it for the time being. Once up there Julia had the urge to really look at the first person she seriously considered, but refrained as much as she could in fear she would scare him off "Okay so read the lines for Lucerno from here to here" She pointed to about half the page, and then turned her attention to Ben "Uh, Ben page 34. Okay so Ben will just speak the lines for the other person, so just go for it. You can take a minute to read it but when you are ready just go" Julia stepped back quite a bit, excited to see how this would be interpreted. She had given a section of the script where Lucerno was speaking to one of his close comrades, a scene where Amaryllis had long turned in for the night.

; thanks for understanding ;w; i tend to get carried away, especially when i'm trying to make up a setting - just like now! i hope the dialogue i came up with was okay c:
---
Ekho blinked curiously at the young woman, excitable as she hurried up to the stage to meet him. He hadn't expected such a reaction from her, or any of the crew for that matter - the most he thought they'd do was thank him for showing up. When she neared him, he couldn't help but eye her with a silent wonder, but said nothing to express his surprise. Instead he gave her an affirmative nod, quickly scanning the words she had pointed out for him to read. She was right - he hadn't seen this particular section in the practice script he was given.
Is this the actual script for the movie? The thought interested him, but he pushed it away as he returned his attention to Julia, gulping quietly when he noticed how expectantly she watched him. "Um ... alright." Ekho nodded again, hoping he didn't come off as too shocked.
---
"I know how you look at her."
" ... I don't know what you're talking about."
A laugh - one of disbelief.
"Everyone can tell how fond you are of her. Don't be embarrassed, Luci."
A shifting of the eyes, a scoff from a throat.
"That's my business. Stay out of it." Stay away from her.
"Come on. You can't hide anything like that from me. All I'm saying is that it's amazing how different you act when Amaryllis is around. I swear, it's all gentle smiles and soft blushing between the two of you."
Abruptly he stood, walking towards the ship's edge the stage's edge. "She's different. Not like you. She's not like anyone I've ever met."
The night breeze cooled his warm cheeks and flowed through his cloud white hair. He could taste the salt of the sea. Once it reminded him of adventure - now it made him think of moments with her. "You wouldn't understand ... "
Why does this sound familiar?
"I think I do, Luci," Another body joined him in standing, but this one leaned his elbows on the wooden railing. "It's called love." He flashed a cheeky smile. Lucerno gaped. "Love?"
"Yup. And you've got it bad. Real bad."
Lucerno remained quiet. Was he truly in love with Amaryllis? This wasn't a feeling he experienced often - never, if he was being honest. There hadn't been anyone he spent so long knowing enough to fall in love with them. His mind wandered briefly of where she slept, peacefully he imagined, while he struggled with these newfound emotions. He wondered if she felt the same, the possibility making his chest bubble up with fervor.
"As if you know what that's like." His quiet voice was laced with joking tone, not missed by his companion. He laughed, clapping his back good-naturally. "I do, I assure you. I have tips if you'd like them. You're not as good with the ladies as I am."
Lucerno said nothing more as he looked out at the silent sea, its lapping echoing within the depths of his ears.
---
Ekho licked his lips, feeling his throat dried by how much he had already spoken. And how loudly - he wasn't used to raising his voice, but he hoped it didn't show.
"Was that all, miss?" He held the script out to Julia, unsure in his actions as he eventually pulled it back to his chest, laughing a breathless laugh. "Or, uh, was there anything else you wanted me to read?"

Julia felt a rush of nervousness, she had really only heard this conversation through a third party so she really hoped it made as much sense in her head as it would sound. She felt lucky to have created a close companionship with everyone she had traveled with in her life that they would freely tell her these details. Another stroke of luck was how well she had been able to understand Lucerno before his death to be able to pull this off. She stood there watching, her eyes darting between his facial expressions and his stance. She watched familiar poses she thought she would never see again. She had to bite her tongue the moment his eyes almost seemed to dull the moment he seemed lost in thought. At the end, she darted her eyes over to Ben, having to hold her breath at this point. She was almost begging for permission to speak, after she had all but taken over the casting for Ekho. Julia opened her mouth to say something, ready to completely bypass Ben, but he quickly interrupted her "That is all Mr. Ekho. We will contact you within the next few days concerning your audition" Julia almost visibly pouted at this, she thought it was great so why cant she just say it was great? After a brief staring contest with Ben, Julia let out a small sigh. Maybe this was some weird tactic that the movie world does to try to get the right person for the role. "Well you heard him" Julia said taking a few steps forward, holding her hand out to Ekho "I'm going to need that back, though, the director would have my head if I lost that"

The young man shifted his gaze from Julia to Ben's direction, not missing how the woman held a gaze with her casting director, which made him squirm awkwardly as he fiddled with the script. "Oh. Um, yeah, that sounds good. Thank you." He responded to Ben's dismissal, offering him a polite smile before turning his focus back to Julia, right when she stepped forward to retrieve her script. At this time he began to observe her, not necessarily in a rude way, but in a way he hadn't before. Ekho had surely noticed her fiery head of hair a few times during his initial performance, but now that they stood much closely to one another, he had the chance to take in more of her features.
So he stood, perhaps a moment too long in his examination, that once he realized he was staring a color rose to his cheeks, his blush appearing as a darker gray on his skin. "Sorry. Of course, here you go," Quickly he exchanged the script with her, practically shoving it towards her during which he averted his eyes, looking at everything but her, "Th-thank you for having me. It was, um, a pleasure. And - I really like your books. They're great." Ekho risked looking at her once more before giving a wave of his hand in departure.
"Take care, miss."
Overcome with a shy sensation, he stiffly turned towards the door he had come through earlier, his hands flying up to the loose fabric of his scarf to pull back over his head as a hood. No matter how his heart ached with adrenaline, Ekho couldn't help the grin that graced his lips, one that mixed disbelief with excitement. Perhaps even hope. For as he headed towards the exit of the theater, a part of him really hoped it would be him with the winning audition.

Julia sighed once more when Ekho was out of the room "Ben he was great" She complained, jumping down to sit next to him once again "Why didn't you let me speak?" "Because that boy is obviously an amateur. While it is possible to have him be the main lead it is a huge risk. He could delay the production if we have to spend too much on one scene. Plus we already have one amateur to direct." Ben rose from his chair just as quickly as Julia had sat down, his quick movements towards the door made it very obvious he wanted to continue this conversation elsewhere. Julia rolled her eyes, following after Ben and keeping her mouth shut. She had gotten in trouble before when she spoke about the movie in a public space, so she really didn't want to get another lecture from the crew. Once they were both seated in the car that had been waiting, however she spoke up again "So what if is he an amateur? He seemed to quickly pick up on Lucerno's character and play it very well. Not to mention, he seems to be very good at memorizing lines." "You seem attached to him, he isn't Lucerno" "Well, duh. Lucerno is a fictional character I made up." Julia rolled her eyes once more, she had gotten used to this lie throughout her life. She hated the fact she had to keep it hidden that she hadn't made up his character. She hated he fact that she couldn't share with at least one person that Lucerno and Amaryllis were real people who did go on the adventures she wrote about. "Let's give him a chance, though" "I never said we wouldn't. I want you to pick some of the others for callbacks. It is one thing to be able to act like the character but you and him also have to look good together on screen. There is also the chance he will refuse to take the role. Quite a few people try to audition but either the pay or the filming times don't work with what they want." "So...don't get my hopes up" "I will pick the people for callbacks, keeping in mind your comments and opinions. I will put Mr. Ekho on the list but be prepared to have to speak with about 15 people tomorrow." Julia leaned back in her chair, at least he was on the list. Maybe she could convince Ben to pick him tomorrow, all he had to do was have good chemistry with Amaryllis, right? Seemingly as quickly as they left the car pulled up to her home, Julia smiled, already making plans on what she was going to finish her evening with. Probably a quick dinner and a few hours writing her book. At least it wouldn't be anything crazy. "See you tomorrow" She said back into the car, grabbing her few items as she spoke.

; i'm so sorry for not being on all day!! i spent the whole day at the beach with some friends and i just now got home ;w; i'm really sorry if this reply isn't so great, it's rather late for me atm but i still wanted to reply to you!
The trip back to his apartment wasn't as lively as his mood. Through busy streets and sidewalks, crowds of people walking home as he was, Ekho could only focus on recalling his performance, replaying whatever he remembered twice over in his mind. Was there anything he could have done better? He must have done something right if the author herself had him play out extra lines - it had to mean she at least wanted to see more of him, right? This thought lingered in his head as he climbed up the stairs of his apartment building, meeting his front door with a sigh. No matter how much excitement pounded at his heart, he knew the smartest thing to do was keep his hopes humble. After all, he was sure they would tell right away of his inexperience with acting. Would that be enough to hinder his chances?
Unlocking his door and shutting it after him, Ekho leaned his back onto it, letting out another sigh as he looked around his minimalistic home. Until the next day arrived, he would be alone with the pensive voice ringing in his head, nervously pondering whether he would get a phone call or not. Choosing to push that voice to the back of his mind, he instead unraveled his scarf from around his neck and held onto it as he entered his bedroom, setting it down on his bed before exiting once again, this time heading to the bathroom to shower.
---
As he laid back on his bed, pieces of his damp hair sticking to his cheeks, Ekho breathed in the sweet scent of soap that wafted into his room, calming him just as the hot water had. With a refreshed sensation overtaking him, the young man gradually fell into a deep sleep, Lucerno's words still echoing upon his lips.

(sorry for not replying, irl stuff happened)
The next morning flew by like normal, wake up early to get breakfast and a small run in, check social media to possibly reply to some fan questions or just update them, check her phone for any new calls or messages. It was all together fairly normal compared to what she knew the rest of the day was going to be like. The drive in was when it started to truly sink in what was going on. She was about to meet a group of people that were the final candidates to play Lucerno. The one she really wanted as her partner for the film was part of it but given the attitude of Ben the previous day he didn't have as big of a shot as some of the others. Most of the day was going to be spent with each individual for a compatibility test. Julia finally pulled into the lot, looking around to see if there were any unfamiliar cars in the lot. She saw a few, though not to total she was expecting making her think that the time they were all supposed to be there was a little later. Shrugging it off, Julia walked into the building, ready to make a b-line for a coffee maker to get a quick drink before everything started. She was not shocked to see some of the actors that had auditioned for the role in there having a small discussion at one of the break room tables "Good morning" She smiled at the group, giving a wave on her way over "I dont think we formally introduced ourselves last time" After those quick introductions, Julia joined in the conversation, stopping for just a second to grab the coffee that she wanted. She couldn't help but feel a little sad that she didn't see Ekho there, though she was certain that the meeting time wasn't for a little while still. "So, Ms. Julia do you know what the compatibility test is going to include" one said "I heard that it includes kissing" Another chimed in, he seemed way to excited about this idea Julia almost did a double take at this, she was one hundred percent not expecting this. Amaryllis and Lucerno did kiss in the book and in the script but she was not ready to do that right now. "I appreciate your enthusiasm..." she started, not sure how to politely say she would rather not "but I really doubt that it will include kissing."

; no problem! hope everything's alright. also, sorry if this is short!! i'm a little low on muse ^^;
---
Each time he thought about the compatibility meeting, there was a tug at his heart. It was one that would only bother him when doubt took over his mind, trying to convince him against whatever he was planning. Ekho could only sigh deeply every time he felt it, making his mind up to ignore it as he readied himself for the morning. This was a chance, he kept reminding himself, a small one, but just enough. It was a hope he clung to as he left his home, journeying back to the theater regardless of how his heart thundered.
By the time he had arrived, he noted a gradual gathering of other young men entering the building, recognizing a few of them from the day before. It was odd to see a couple of them appearing ghostly, similar to him, but seemed much more outgoing than he was known to be. He followed the group of men into the theater, remaining soft-spoken among them as they made their way towards where he thought the appropriate meeting place would be. It seemed to be a break room, and from the peeks he got over the shoulders of the men in front of him, Ekho could see others already inside, perhaps waiting on them to begin. His group filed into the break room with earnest greetings, mostly towards the redhead who sat at the head of the table. At this he joined them, giving a timid wave of his hand when he met eyes with Julia. He then took a seat near the end of the table, the one almost directly facing the author's, and quietly awaited for their 'testing' to begin.

Julia took a moment to notice that Ekho was present, but once she did she stood up and gave a wave "Glad you could make it" She said with a large smile "We're just waiting for Ben to grab us but it shouldn't be long" She walked over to the other end and with a lower voice asked if she could switch spots with another of the actors. She gave quick greetings to each of the other actors that had entered with Ekho, they almost looked like some super secret hero team with how they walked in at the same time. "I don't think we formally introduced ourselves yesterday" She turned her gaze to Ekho and held out her hand, her ever smiling face getting a little brighter as the excitement of today's audition started to truly settle in "I'm Julia Guerra. Just call me Julia."
(That's fine, this is where my muse is leaving me atm.)

; hello ziotsu!! i am so so sorry for my sudden absence - i know it was something that you specifically asked for your partner not to do, and for that i am terribly sorry. i recently visited my family in mexico this weekend, and because of the extremely hot weather there, i suffered a heatstroke. so i have not been feeling very well at all ^^; i'm not sure when i will be back to normal (since my symptoms are still quite strong) and so i'm afraid i will not be able to RP with you for now. again, i am so terribly sorry - i know we just began not long ago! thank you for spending your time with me on this c:

No issue, it's understandable when things just suddenly come up beyond your control so i do not mind in the slightest. My comment was mostly to help keep communication open so things can go smoothly. I hope you get to feeling better quickly, though. Just hit me up if/when you want to start the rp up again I'm fine with waiting cause your health is much more important than a roleplay over the internet, especially when it is something like a heat stroke.
