Before school starts for many, I want to create a small role-play that scratches a role-play itch I've been having. However, I've been very indecisive on what to make and do. I do have a more unique and special role-play being planned, but I want something simple. I've really been wanting to do the canon Clans, or at least a "POV" one. Unfortunately, those tend to run their course quickly and many get tired of them. I do have some options and if I really get some motivation and inspiration, then I may do something more complicated. Right now, my only ideas are the canon Clans and some possible remakes. They will all be a "POV" type role-play, meaning there will be other Clans but they won't be role-played. I do want to do differing plots for each and maybe an old plot that never took off. Regardless, here are some of the explanations of the ideas to improve them. Links are provided due to them most likely being remakes. Please do not steal anything from these role-plays, I'm not linking to give anyone ideas, I'm linking to show you the old version.
1.) HollyClan. HollyClan was a project I felt was hastily done and the whole idea of the Tribe bordering them wasn't fleshed out like I wanted. Essentially, I jumped the gun. That would honestly be the first thing addressed. How does the tribe operate and make them different, where exactly are they settled, essentially making the Tribe less unknown and vague because I was eager to get this posted and opened. I want the Tribe to have their own section detailing minor things with some things actually fleshed out in the background in preparation to give more information when needed.♦ I also was not fond of the plot and felt like the Clan became a quick-burn. I also would make the traditions more unique and add to how the Clan functions. The territory would be expanded, as what I picture in my head is way too small.
♦ One alternative would take the Tribe away and instead place two Clans. The other would add a Clan that functions similarly to HollyClan. The cap on the extra bordering groups would be two.
2.) MapleClan. MapleClan was something I wanted to do instead of repeating a remake of a canon Clan. i became very frustrated while making it because I felt like they were too much like ThunderClan. MapleClan didn't feel original enough and that would be what I would focus on. Each Clan in that role-play would be different, overall MapleClan wouldn't be the role-play I've linked, it'd be very different but you can see what remained. MapleClan would still be based on ThunderClan but would have their own spice and be much different than the other Clans. I would probably take another look at the territory and determine what made it feel so wrong to me. If I am to be honest, this is a role-play I regret making this seem so stale, but this may be the most exciting to overhaul for the simple fact I have a basis for each individual Clan stored in some document.
3.) Stone Valley. Probably my actual regret in making. The two Clans featured in this were very similar to each other and I despise that. I also really regret using the same character for this and MapleClan and honestly, MapleClan's version is a lot better. Though to be honest, I quite like Maplestar but she didn't work in this. I would need to flesh out a lot and find some differences for them. What's posted there is pretty much all there is to this role-play. I would start fresh so I guess it wouldn't really be remake considering I would probably change almost everything down to the names. Nothing was exciting and I can see why it didn't take off and unfortunately, I wasn't surprised it didn't, either. If I do go with this, I may not do the POV idea, but I'm not sure. I'm very on the fence about bringing this back.
4.) SkyClan, ThunderClan, or ShadowClan. Thought I was going to post ol' RiverClan, eh? Nah, I have a watery surprise coming up. Anyways, each idea differs in a way in terms of territory, plot, and just making them very different. Let's begin.
♦ SkyClan would be moved from the gorge back into the forest. It would be simplified for forms. I would have them differ from ThunderClan by making tree climbing an absolute and introducing some different traditions, maybe importing one or two from the RiverClan I had. The plot would be centered around the medicine cat and would be rather ongoing. I would need to restrain this in a way so it doesn't seem too spotlightish.
♦ ThunderClan would either be in the forest or at the lake, I'm not too picky but I would really make the Clan interactions a thing. I would probably have a journey plot to get others involved. It would have an original sickness in it.
♦ ShadowClan would be at the lake. The plot wouldn't be them being destroyed, but rather dealing with one of the Clans trying to push them out. The past issues of ShadowClan would be highlighted and they'd actually have to answer for their broken ways while actually repairing what is broken. This ShadowClan would really differ from the books because they wouldn't be an outcast because they're jerks, they'd be an outcast because the Clans no longer trust them and no longer see them as proper warriors. It would be a group effort to prove that while their past is muddled, ShadowClan is just as much a Clan as the others. I would make them the good guys for once, an underdog dealing with legitimate questions and concerns about their identity as a Clan and if they really should fight to remain at a place with Clans that won't accept them or move on to a place where they can be free of any issues that threaten to make them break apart.
