I bet. xD As if the thump of the textbook hitting the arm of the couch had been a summons, Mallory appeared in the doorway to her bedrooms, hands on her hips in a pose that meant business. She took one look at Tori and grinned deviously. "Oh, good. You're done studying. That means you can come to the party with me. I already have the perfect outfit for you. Come on!" Without waiting for confirmation from Tori, she spun around and went back into her bedroom, then into her closet, where she started digging through her large pile of clothes. Much of it ended up tossed out into the room, and the whole while, she muttered nonsense under her breath about clothes growing legs and wandering off.
This is crap compared to my Ren post, and dirt compared to your starter, but there you go. xD

Lol, don't worry about it. ^^ I also hope you don't mind that I created a bit of back story for them. I tried to keep it vague enough so you could add whatever details you wished to use as well. If you don't like something, just let me know.
Tori opened her eyes the moment Mallory began speaking. Party? What party? This was the first time she heard of such an event. Of course, Mallory was the social butterfly of the two. She knew pretty much everyone and anyone, or that was how it seemed to her. A party could have been created on the spur of the moment, and her friend would know about it the second it was announced. She also knew how little Tori liked such impromptu gatherings. Yet the woman stood from her seat and walked over to Mal's bedroom, stopping at the doorway.
There were no words she could use to describe how much she was thankful for Mallory. The two meet in the fourth grade. It just so happened that they were placed sitting beside each other in a lot of their classes. At first, it hadn't seemed like the two were interacting much at all, or even had a lot of interest in one another. However, she would never forget the day Mal had made her first attempt to use sign language with her. Since then, as unlikely the pair was, they had remained close friends. Mallory was the only one who even had an inkling of an idea of what was going on in her head, her problems. Granted, she didn't know every detail, but she knew enough to know the dangers it possessed to her. All the nightmares she knew of, but as far as she knew, they were only that. She knew of the stress between her mother and her, and all that other fun stuff that went with it. Mal was always there, even when she might have wished she wasn't. The other woman had had the unfortunate luck of discovering her during the lowest point of her life a couple of years back. Neither of them talked about it much, but Tori was sure she kept an eye on her more closely than before, especially whenever her moods were more negative than usual.
Party? she signed, leaning against the door frame and watched her friend. Even if she didn't see her, she knew Mal would understand her need of clarification for this sudden involvement of a social setting. The thought of an early night had tempted her greatly. If she was going to sink into the comfort of her bed, she wanted to know the details of whatever the party was in order to fortify her reasons not to go.

Tori caught the piece of clothing tossed at her, giving it a quizzical stare. Just the fact that it came from Mal's closet alone made her wary. She wore things that Tori normally avoid. If it wasn't a t-shirt or skinny jeans, she wanted nothing to do with it. Yet at the mention of Cambry, small pieces of the puzzle fell into place. Narrowing her eyes slightly, she stared at her best friend, trying to figure out what game she was trying to play. For the passed four months, she had been slightly crushing on Cambry, but the two hadn't really had much of a conversation. It was kind of hard when she couldn't speak, and he didn't know sign. If that wasn't enough to keep any interest on his part at bay, she didn't know what would. You forgot to mention, she replied. Her signs were short and sweet at the moment, not feeling up to signing word for word. Why this? To emphasis what "this" was, she held up the clothing item Mal had chosen for her.

"Because it'll look great on you," Mallory replied with a wink. She pointed to it. "It's a long shirt on me, but on you it'll be an almost knee-length dress." Mallory was quite tall for a girl, topping out at almost 5'10. It made it difficult for her to wear heels, as it annoyed her when she was taller than guys. She was ever grateful that her boyfriend, Ian, was tall enough that she could wear heels and still be shorter than him. There were too few guys she knew who were that tall. "I even have a belt in here somewhere that will help it give you a figure. Hold on." She dove back into her closest, tossing more clothes every which way as she sought the thin leather belt that would match the midnight hue of the shirt/dress, as well as Tori's eyes, perfectly.

A part of her was tempted to just walk out of the room while she wasn't looking. It wouldn't have been the first time she had dismissed one of her friend's random outings that way. It was the best way to convey sometimes that she just wasn't mentally or physically capable of putting up with whatever Mal wanted to do without having to waste the time signing. A well placed flop on her bed and a cocoon of blankets pulled around her, and it was the universal symbol of "Leave me alone." However, that was used on times that were desperate, the times when she had completely had too much stress during the day that she couldn't possibly function. Not when she was only slightly unwilling for to be around other people. Mal's suggestion of tights did improve the outfit a bit, yet it was still much too "fancy" for her taste. And perhaps the mention of Cambry had its desired effect. She hadn't said she wasn't going; she just protested the idea of the dress. Shaking her head, Tori moved into the room, placing the dress onto the bed while she tried to pick up and fold some of the clothes thrown about the room. A neat freak she wasn't, but she also liked to be able to see the floor. Knowing Mallory, she would have all of her closet on display and would create a huge mess for her to clean up later. So she had the urge to help a bit where she could.

A small sigh escaped the woman. Whenever Mal was in one of these moods, there really was no way for her to win. Unless she just wanted to be flat out rude, Tori couldn't really argue with the new suggestion that had been given. You owe me, she signed, though why, she wasn't really sure. She just felt like saying it. Leaning over, she snatched up the shirt and the belt before turning and leaving the room. The sooner she goes and changes into it, the sooner she can prove that this wasn't a good idea.
Ten minutes later, Tori walked back to Mal's room, now fully changed and looking a bit uncomfortable. Mal had been right, the shirt had been long enough to reach her knees. The belt gave her some kind of illusion that she had a waist and hips. The pair of black skinny jeans and ankle high boots completed the looked. Honestly, it did look good, and that was the reason for her discomfort. Now there would be no argument for her to change back into her normal clothing. Her only source of comfort were the hoard of bracelets still on her left arm. There was no way she would be removing them, even if they did clash the rest of the outfit a bit. Mal knew better than to try and talk her out of them.

Mallory did a triumphant fist pump. "Woot! Thanks, Tori! You're the best." Tori's claim only made her grin. "Sure, sure. I'll take you out to your favourite restaurant and treat you. Now go get ready! Ian will be here soon." Mallory had her own car, but she wanted to drink tonight; Ian wasn't usually big on drinking, however, so he was the perfect chauffer. Tori wasn't much of a drinker either, but Mal planned on coercing at least one alcoholic beverage into her friend, so it was best to be safe.
As soon as Tori was gone, Mallory started tossing her scattered clothing back into the closet, keeping only the outfit she planned to wear out: a black mini dress with fishnet sleeves and three inch black heels. It took about ten seconds for her to put the dress and heels on, and then she spent the next eight minutes before Tori's returning doing her hair and make-up. She was applying mascara when Tori reappeared.
Mallory saw her in the mirror first. She spun around with a grin. "Woo hoo, look at you. You look great. Would it be too much if I wanted to do your hair and makeup?" she asked, knowing what the answer would probably be. But she tried anyway, on the off chance Tori actually agreed.

(I added a picture of Tori on her form. Not really one that's perfect, but something as a reference point.)
It wasn't that Mallory's opinion of her didn't matter, but Tori felt as if her reaction to her was a little over exaggerated. The question was to be expected. One could never leave for a party without fixing hair and make-up. It was completely unnecessary in her mind, but Mallory took so much joy in it. While she was a wizard with make-up, she didn't really feel like sitting there, under her scrutiny for very long. Nothing fancy, eyes only, she allowed, figuring if she was already this far into the plan, might as well let her put some finishing details on everything. After all, it had been a good two months since the last time she had tried to doll her p for one reason or another. Maybe, just maybe, Mal wouldn't get too carried away this time.

Oooh, pretty! <3 Mallory brightened. "Yay! Come sit here," she said, gesturing to the little stool she'd shoved into the corner beside her vanity. Mallory pulled it out and placed it in front of the mirror. Once Tori was seated, she didn't waste a moment. She applied eyeshadow, a bit of eyeliner, and mascara. As requested, she didn't do anything fancy; she kept it simple and just a tad elegant, if she did say so herself. The makeup was impossible to miss, but it didn't stand out like a neon sign either. It simple enhanced what Tori had to offer naturally, and highlighted the lovely shade of her eyes. By the time Mallory stepped back to survey the finished product, she was practically humming with pride and excitement. "My goodness," she said with a grin. "I am good. You went from 'great' to 'freaking awesome'. You're welcome."

(I have too much free time on my hands. XD)
With begrudging steps, Tori took her seat, none too lady like on the stool, readying herself for the next few moments. She did this to herself, she knew that. So she sat as still as she could manage with her eyes closed. This wasn't the first time Mal had done her make-up, which made it somewhat bearable. Most people would flinch to have someone else working around their eyes. However, Mal had a steady hand, and for the majority of the time, it wasn't a terrible experience. Before long, the other woman had released her work. Opening her eyes, Tori glanced into the mirror to inspect what had been accomplished. A small smile tugged her her lips. Miracle worker, she complimented. She did look good, and had she been feeling a bit more enthused for the party, she might have felt a confidence boost by it. I don't know how you do it.

Oooooooooo, can Mallory come work her magic with my hair?
Letting her do what she did best, Tori waited another however many minutes it took for Mal to work. Although she watched her in the mirror, whatever twists and braiding of her hair was lost to her. Mainly due to not being able to see the back of her head, but also because the art of hair styling had never been something she learned. That's why she had Mal. Mal did the things she didn't, keeping everything well balanced. She was a little too cheery at times, but that was something that she probably need more of in her life. If she didn't have Mal, then there would be nothing to make her laugh or smile over the stupidest of things. At last, her make-over was complete, and she was gazing at her friend's handy work with the aid of the smaller hand mirror. Her smile widened. It's amazing, she signed sincerely, followed by a thank you. She might not be eager for the party or to be all dressed up, but Mallory also didn't have to take the time to make her look pretty either. That was a choice the other woman had made for herself not only now, but on a lot of other occasions. Saying thank you was something Tori felt the need to do a lot around her.

What Tori called 'punctual,' Mallory called 'early.' She told Ian all the time that when a girl gives a guy a time to pick her up, she expects him to be ten to fifteen minutes late. She even plans for it. But those words just seem to go in one ear and out the other with him, for as usual, he arrived right when he'd been told. One would think Mallory would start telling him to come later, or start getting ready eaelier. But then, she was too stubborn for that.
Once Tori had let him in, Ian, quite used to the wait required when taking Mallory out, made himself comfortable on tje couch. "Hey, Tori," he greeted with an easy smile. "You're looking nicer than ususl. Does that mean Mal convinced you to come?" He wasn't really that surprised by it; Mallory could be very hard to argue with when she set her mind to something.

Tori was used to keeping Ian company most times he picked Mallory up. Mal could never be ready on time. Try to tell her to be less picky about her outfit, or less extravagant with her hair and make-up, and you'd think you'd just insulted her very being. At least Ian was a good sport about it. Sadly, she signed, walking over to where her backpack was on the floor. Due to him dating her best friend, they had been slowly showing him a couple of basic signs so they wouldn't need Mallory's aid in translating every time they ran across each other. Most of the time, she would stick to writing notes for him, but there were some signs she used a lot that he had caught on and learned. Grabbing that notebook now from her pack, and a pen, she wrote out a longer note. She forced me into it, and I couldn't find any arguments. So now I'm here. She should be ready in just a minute. Maybe.

Tori chuckled a bit and nodded in agreement. As much as she would love to give her friend the benefit of the doubt, there was no way she would be done in the time she had stated. To his question, she took to writing once more. When done, it read: Yes, the royal European bloodlines happened. Everyone's related to everyone, and I have no clue who reigned when. Other than that, got a headache, but that's all. For right now, anyway.
