She's a really good mentor, and I liked her a lot.. until Rosepetal sank her teeth into Bristlefrost's shoulder, and literally dragged her away by force. It honestly disgusted me. I know Rosepetal meant well, but this seems a bit much. She could have just called her name or grabbed her by the scruff if she had to do this at all, but I just feel like it wasn't necessary at all.
How do people feel about this scene? It really bothered me, but I guess I can get past this because she was a really good mentor to her despite that moment, especially when she advised Bristlefrost on how to move on from Stemleaf.
I'm on mobile, so sorry for minor spoilers.

No surprise. She's been shown as quite aggressive and impulsive in past books.

i admittedly don't even remember this scene. why did she drag bristlefrost away? Bristlefrost was sad about Stemleaf. Rosepetal didn't understand why and thought she was being ungrateful if I remember correctly. She sank her teeth into Bristlefrost's shoulder and dragged her away, with Bristlefrost protesting. It was honestly really messed up. Call her name; dragging her away really isn't necessary. :/

I don't think it's that big of a deal?

I don't remember that scene, but considering that Spiderleg, who is said to have a worse temper than Dustpelt, is her father, I can't say I'm surprised if she was aggressive. I do agree that she could have just called her name or flicked her with her tail gently or something, if Bristlefrost was too lost in her own little world to listen.

I don't think it was intended to be an aggressive act. I don't recall Bristlefrost being upset/commenting that it hurt either.
I could be wrong, but I don't believe it was meant to be that way.

I don't really think it was too much.

I saw it as more of a "grabbing an unruly child by the ear" kind of thing; I didn't see too much of an issue though, as Bristlefrost didn't even complain of pain.

I thought I was the only one that felt that it was kinda an "uh...??" moment. I didn't really like it, but at the same time, I'm not surprised, Rosepetal is shown in the books to be kinda aggressive.

I feel like it's mostly just a case of weird wording? I mean, there aren't exactly many ways to describe one cat pulling another cat aside when they don't have hands and stuff. Idk, to me it would seem a little odd if she tried to pick her up by the scruff considering Bristlefrost is a fully grown cat lmao.

Seems like a thing that cats do.
