I haven't watched it recently, but I have heard of the drama around it! But thinking about it for days on end is a mood, it's just that type of anime that sticks with you! Plus the opening is GODLY

Plus the opening is GODLY oh definitely that thing has been stuck in my head since friday. whistling it and all. the drama over the dub and stuff you mean? i watched sub and looked up other translations and stuff just to make sure i knew the interpretations and all, i think its pretty overblown. i mean some of the subs are questionable (kaworu... >_>) but the dub is irrelevant to me luckily and not having watched it before i didnt miss fly me to the moon or anything too much

Sometimes I'll just wake up with it in my head, or it will come out of no where and be stuck in my head for the rest of the day. It's just SO GOOD. I think on Netflix they had a problem with changing the subs. They basically made it straight, getting rid of any romantic undertones between Shinji and Kaworu, and changed some iconic lines. I have to agree on the dub tho, I'm the type that prefers subs for the most part! Do you have a preference when it comes to watching anime?? I mean, there are a few that have far superior dubs tho!
EDIT: if y'all want to watch anime online, I'd highly suggest https ://www5.gogoanime. io/ just get rid of the spaces. It's my go to site to watch anime haha

i rewatched it! it's one of my favorites, so i'm glad i could watch it again without scouring through websites with endless pop-up ads. i checked out a couple of episodes in the dub, and i don't think the casting is nearly as bad as people made it out to be, but some of the wording is a little weird. the kaworu situation disappointed me, and it's especially weird when coupled with the changes in dialogue during the kitchen scene with shinji and asuka in end of evangelion. but i had a feeling they'd make some odd translation changes with the new dub script, anyway. i just wish the subtitles didn't match so closely with the dub. i was also able to watch end of evangelion in its entirety for the first time, and i'm still thinking about it. THAT ENDING. end of eva... blew my mind. tbh the show was so much different than i expected, i thought it would slowly become weird throughout, and expected something like akira, i guess? but it kinda just goes crazy at the end there. after sitting with it for a few days, though, im already planning a watch party with my friends, lol. its one of those things where i only really remember the ending (because it was amazing) and forget all the robot fighting or whatever haha
and yeah, the kaworu thing was weird. i mean, i wouldnt mind changing it to make it more accurate, but it takes away from the impact of the scene and kaworus characterization a lot. why would an otherworldly being like him use "like", which is considered a really childish word in english? lame, lame, lame. and then the punch of "hes the only person who ever told me he loves me" is ruined. plus the, ah, hospital scene, the translation is so awkward and not nearly as hard hitting in the new subs.

Hmm you have a point there tbh Roswell, but it is one of the classics.

always thought it was overrated yknow, it kinda was. i really was underwhelmed until the last two episodes. but to me the last two episodes and end of eva really delivered and the themes spoke to me a lot Ohh I've never seen that one before Silver 0: Was it good?
Hmm you have a point there tbh Roswell, but it is one of the classics. yeah it was good! kind of even less coherent than eva, honestly, but i liked it, and it has an awesome intro too lol. very atmospheric and its cool as a piece of sort of early internet commentary.
