What do you think the paranormal? Like, ghosts and stuff? Apparently, all of the houses my ex-friend has moved into, has been haunted. Apparently, the house I lived in before this one was haunted, like, my sister's husband's cousin's grandmother is a medium, and she got such strong vibes from our house, that she didn't want to come inside. Also, my sister and her husband's cousin, and his girlfriend, all said they felt something bite them at night, or something. However, I've never experienced any of this so-called ghostly activity.
Aliens, oh man, I used to be TERRIFIED of aliens, I couldn't even see a picture of a cartoon alien without having a panic attack when I was younger. I would also wait until my sister fell asleep, before I went to sleep, because I was almost sure she was an alien. I really hope aliens aren't real, they creep me out so much.

I believe in demons but I'm pretty skeptical of most hauntings. I think the majority of them can be chalked up to imagination, faulty appliance installation / old house, and bias. U don't believe in mediums either, I've literally never encountered one that could convince me that anything they were saying mattered at all. As for aliens, i think life on other planets could certainly exist, but i don't think that it's gonna be anything like we imagine (little gray men etc). No humanoid figures at least.
That said, ghost hunting shows are delightful and I enjoy watching them with friends. Nothing ever happens, they never catch the ghost, but boy if it isn't funny to watch them hear an old house settling and ascribe it to William the 19th century carpenter who used to live there

I used to be terrified of demons, one of my worst fears was getting possessed

I love going on ghost walks because I love exploring big abandoned buildings. I toured an old, allegedly haunted mansion a couple of years ago and it was a dream. Nothing happened but I did see some bats

In my old town, there was supposedly this super haunted cemetery, it's even featured on this one website about haunted places or whatever. I remember hearing all about it from my siblings when I was a kid lol, I've never actually been there, but my sisters have

I am a very strong believer of the supernatural and aliens! Once we almost brought a haunted mattress into our house. No way, what's the story with the haunted mattress? So when my dad's brother was younger, he would fool around with ouija boards and all that fun stuff. But one day he accidentally summoned something, it was a large black hulking mass and it looked like a demon. From that night forward my dad would have terrible nightmares whenever he slept in his parents house, it did stop after he went to collage and moved out. A few years back when we were getting my new bed frame my dad brought a mattress over from my other uncle's house (who lives in my grandparents house). When he set it down outside our house my dog Summer started whining and ran inside. My dad brushed it off since she was always a little paranoid. He moved the mattress into the garage and my dog was shivering even more now, she was horrified. Then it hit him, that mattress was the one my uncle was doing all those rituals on, and it was now possessed by a demon. My dad brought the mattress back to my uncle's house and told him to burn it then call an exorcist. He never did that since he never listened to my dad. Now whenever I go into that house (which is once in a blue moon), and I go near the room with the mattress, I always get this weird feeling, as if the demon was watching me.

It's so strange how things can get haunted, like, you could buy something from a garage sale, or a thrift store, and then invite a ghost or worse into your home. If that ever happens to me, I'm sending the object to someone I don't like

I don't know what to believe, like, I'm on the fence about whether ghosts exist or not, I've had some paranormal experiences, but they could possibly be explained by other things. I'm not going to rule anything out, and just automatically assume ghost. However, the thought of the paranormal both terrifies me, and intrigues me. Let me preface by noting I'm a devout Catholic, so that's where the source of my paranormal beliefs are sourced. I don't believe in conventional ghosts, as according to my religion there is no reason to believe human souls could be "trapped" on earth. However, to be brief, there is theological precedent that the souls in Purgatory (those "saved" awaiting purification through prayer to enter Heaven) may come to the faithful on earth to request prayer. But none of that "Jack murdered 15 people in this house and still haunts the nursery room" sort of thing. Most paranormal experience are probably bogus, imo, either faked or all in the head. The ones I am more likely to believe are the ones that cause physical harm, such as scratches. Catholics do believe in demons. However the Church always tries to rule out every other possible cause (mental illness, settling house, etc) before exorcisms. I've told my story before but I'll keep it brief here without leaving out important details: While my parents were building our current house, we rented down the street. Everyone got bad vibes about that house. My mom and sister had persistent headaches in it (they had no allergies). For various reason I was often home alone after dark in that house and it was awful. I was constantly catching movement in window reflections, except there would be nothing there at second glance. Sometimes when I was in the kitchen I'd hear a sort of thumping noise from above, and I thought maybe it was my sister's rabbit (her room was directly above and the rabbit was often running around it freely), but when I would check, she'd be in her cage. And I'd keep hearing it. A few times I heard it coming from my parent's bedroom (above the living room), both while I was under it and next to it. I would like to clarify the house did creak and settle sometimes, so I knew what that sounded like, but these were distinct thumps like someone walking around on carpet. More than a few times I thought someone had actually broken into the house from my parents' balcony because it sounded so distinctly like someone creeping around up there. Our upstairs hallway was in the middle of the house alongside the stairs, so there was no windows, and it was pitch black at night. Once in the middle of the night I was walking to the bathroom at the other end of the hallway. I heard something loudly whisper my name from the dead space over the stairwell, distinctly not my inner voice. And for the record, I had been lying awake for 45min or so already, so it wasn't a sleep-addled mind. Freaked me out so badly that it took me half an hour to sum up the courage to open the bathroom door and sprint for my room. I didn't sleep for the rest of the night. There were other experiences too, such as getting my covers ripped off me. Just looking at the house now gives me a bad vibe. Something is just not right about it.

I'm a believer in it. I love reading about other peoples' stories but I'd never be comfortable discussing any of my own experiences. Unless it was in private, the person was a believer in it too, and I trusted them. I like reading these discussions though, and I find it depressing that so many people have to deal with traumatic stuff and have nobody to talk to about it. Not many people take it seriously. Just gonna leave this here, that I don't judge if anyone needs that special kind of listening ear.
