A New Age
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil Is for good men to do nothing.” In 2415, the world as we knew it came to an end. Humans were at each others throats. War had plagued the planet. Space exploration had been placed on the back burner for military funds. Peace was a distant memory.
Then came the Scavengers. The sleeper cells. The vanguards to a global invasion. They looked just like us. They sounded just like us. They fit right in. They surveyed the lands, the melted ice caps, the flooded plains. They called themselves liberators. The world was left in ruins at the hands of humanity. They took what they wanted, they were invaders with one purpose. Strip the resources from dying planets to feed their own.
Of course, they failed to account for one thing. Established back before the existence of Earth was the GDC. The Galatic Defense Corps as it was better known as. They weren't able to save every planet, but they managed to save the humans that inhabited Earth. It didn't hurt that humans fought back - that they had rallied together in their hour of need for a change. But the planet was left in ruins. Completely void of its resources, life died with it and the meager remains of humanity had to find a place to call home.
Ground Control to Major Tom, Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong. Can you hear me, Major Tom? The year is now 5396. Life goes on.

The Vast Universe
“Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
Space /spās/ n. the region beyond the earth's atmosphere.
For years, humanity never ventured beyond their walls. Beyond their borders. Not once did they look towards the stars, expanding their research past the galaxy they resided in. Instead they fought among themselves. Struggled like wild dogs for a morsel of meat. They poured their resources and time into creating weapons - bigger, better, stronger.
Their weapons caused catastrophic damage to the people and the land. The other inhabitants of the universe - especially those sharing a galaxy with Earth - resigned themselves to accepting that Earth was Hostile. A threat in every form of the word with a threat level of substantial.
As a result of their hostile nature, Earth was left to its own devices. They perfected warfare. They experimented on their own to create what they came to call "super soldiers".
I dig til my shovel tells a secret, Swear to the Earth I will keep it. Brush off the dirt and let my change of heart occur. Of course, life outside of Earth was different. Space was a bustling hub of activity and the universe was vast. Each and every inhabitant was different. Some planets were filled with nomadic tribes who were peaceful but preferred isolation and upholding tradition. Others are technological hubs, open gatherings of the best and brightest minds in the universe.
Every day, a new planet is discovered. Every day, a new species is added to the database. All over the universe - in each and every galaxy - there are space stations planted among the stars.
Intergalactic space travel is being improved upon, finessed. Light speed travel is now being perfected, intergalactic translators being updated with the newest languages.
There is still so much that is unknown. Many undiscovered planets, many cultures and languages to input into the databases. But explorers, mercenaries, and peace corps groups alike add to the ever growing databases.

The Vast Universe [cont.]
“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.” All planets are categorized based on three factors. The first is based on the planets' inhabitants:Temperament⮚ Peaceful⮚ Neutral⮚ BelligerentThreat level⮚ Low⮚ Moderate⮚ Substantial⮚ Severe⮚ CriticalTechnological Advancement⮚ Type Omega-minus ⮚ Type VI-minus ⮚ Type V-minus ⮚ Type IV-minus ⮚ Type III-minus ⮚ Type II-minus ⮚ Type I-minus ⮚ Type I ⮚ Type II ⮚ Type IIIFurthermore, recorded information include: resources available, the major biome, whether or not it's inhabitable, the common species, and the culture and life of its inhabitantsSome planets, space stations, and even ships are given special labels by the IGM:⮚ Peace Corps: They open their arms to anyone in need, they're always ready to take in stragglers and those without homes. In case of severe injury or lack of resources, they are also eager and willing to give as needed⮚ Ally: Aligned with the IGM, their resources are readily available to those who work for the IGM and their reception is friendly⮚ Bounty Hunters: The IGM aren't fond of them getting in the way of dangerous jobs to capture high profile targets, but bounty hunters generally stick to their own and aren't a threat unless their livelihood or their own are put in the line of fire.⮚ Mercenaries: Space mercenaries have no code of conduct and no morals. They work for the highest bidder. On one occasion, a band of mercenary can be working with the IGM and on the next - against.⮚ Raider: Assigned to the criminal sort that infiltrate planets, space stations, and peaceful ships for resources, money, and fame⮚ Conquistador: War-hungry planets and space stations, extremely hostile and dangerous.Alien species are also categorized based on: diet, lifestyle, culture, beliefs, advancements, and abilities. Depending on an environment a certain species hails from, they sometimes are incompatible with certain mannerisms and cultures.Accessing IGM File Logs...

There is not a single group in the IGM more infamous than the Phantom Corps. One of the regiments in the IGM Army's Special Forces Command, the Phantom Corps are trained to operate in all environments. The Phantom Corps are handpicked from the crème de la crème; the best of the best.
They are highly experienced, reputed, extremely professional, and a prolific force to be reckoned with. Every member of the Phantom Corps are regarded as elite and dangerous.
They are capable of undertaking operations in air, land, sea, and space. They are trained combat divers and parachutists. They also have been taught how to pilot mechas and utilize armored exoskeletons. They are static line para jump qualified and free-fall [HALO/HAHO] para jumps qualified.
Their training includes sabotage and mines training, physical training, parachute training, covert operations and partisan warfare, special air training, intelligence training, and armored warfare training among many things. They are known to have a very low acceptance rate with approximately 80% of applicants dropping out within the first week of training.
The Phantom Corps utilizes a specialized training in anti-terrorism, guerrilla warfare, covert ops, and special operations. Many of the Phantom Corps personnel are trained as medics and paramedics, all teams have at least four. They are specialized in capture or kill methods and perform the most complex, classified, and dangerous missions in the IGM.
The Phantom Corps are always on the move. The exact size of the operations is unknown. What is known is that they are divided into specialized squadrons consisting of 64 individuals commanded by a Colonel[OF-5], divided into four troops of 16. The squadron CO is the Colonel[leader of troop 1], the squadron XO is a Lieutenant Colonel[OF-4, leader of troop 2]. They are assisted by the leaders of troop 3 & 4 who are operations officers, they are Majors[OF-3]. These squadrons are housed in free floating space stations. Members of squadrons are tight knit, they treat one another like family. They rarely ever return to the IGM HQ.
The troops are organized as followed:
⮚ Two Officers
- Commanding Officer [OF-3 to OF-5] Team leader, responsible for outfitting the troop, organizing missions, and briefing the unit.

These troops of 16 are also known to operate in smaller teams of four known as patrols. Patrols are led by the highest ranking members of the team. The first is led by the CO, the second by the XO, the third by the Operations Sergeant, and the fourth by the highest ranking operative after the Operations Sergeant generally ranked at OR-9 or OR-8. All patrols have at least one communications specialist, combat medic, and linguist.
These troops are almost unlimited in their capabilities to operate in hostile or denied areas. They can operate for an indefinite period of time in remote locations with little to no outside support. The IGM Database
“The universe seems neither benign nor hostile, merely indifferent..” Code of Conduct
I. Be polite. Respect goes a long way. Treat one another courteously.
II. Check yourself. No godmodding. No powerplaying. No spotlighting. The characters are strong and skilled with varying abilities that make them more capable and dangerous than the average anything. However, the enemies they are going to be pitted against are stronger and more dangerous than they are in order to promote teamwork and inventive solutions.
III. Be literate! This roleplay is semi-advanced, that means all replies will be 300+ words. It's very difficult to read long replies with poor grammar so check your punctuation!
IV. Be considerate. Do not leave out other members and do not ignore their posts.
V. Character. This is a character driven roleplay. Everything that happens will be a direct outcome of the events in roleplay! This means that activity is a must. A post once a week is fine and if you can't be on often just tell me, baird, or blue.
In addition to this, be thoughtful when making your characters. All ocs should be considered adults in their species regardless of what the age of maturity is considered in that species. A five year old alien considered an adult in their kind is an adult and can start serving in the IGM at that age! But a seventeen year old human who thinks they're ready to serve isn't going to be accepted into the IGM much less the Phantom Corps!
VI. Be Creative. You are not only invited but encouraged to collaborate and help build up this universe! The species and planets you create will become an integral component of the universe. You are welcomed to bring new ideas to the table and spice up the rp. However please do not make a character overly powerful right from the get go!
As the rp progresses there will be things that will improve a character's skills drastically and perhaps even events that may lead them to possessing abilities they never even dreamed of.
VII. Read! Please read everything in all three pages. It's a lot of vital information and if it's missing anything, please feel free to ask me, baird, or blue. PC-115 Operators

I look up at the night sky, and I know that Yes, we are part of this Universe, we are in this Universe, But perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the Universe is in us.
Honorable Mentions This entire roleplay has been influenced greatly by games such as Xcom, Wastelands, Starbound, Cyberpunk 2077, Dishonored, and Infamous. However, all the contents are original and a collaborative effort between myself and @alias All species and planets belong to their respectful creators. Please do not copy anything or claim it as your own.
Thank you for all your help and the work you've put into this @alias Thank you for all the support and motivation The Blue Adept ♡
