Let's say they do end up getting together, what would you want to happen? Honestly, besides both of them being mature about it, the only thing I'd want is for it to have an actual impact on the warrior code and for the Clans to finally realize that maybe it's time for a few changes to occur.

I’m a little torn about it.
I do ship them, but I am just sick and tired of all these forbidden relationships. I don’t want them to get together unless their relationship helps the clans realize they need to change the code. I don’t want it to be Tigerheart and Dovewing all over again.

I like this ship actually. I never minded forbidden relationships since in the first series alone there were at least 3 or 4. I only dislike forbidden relationships by the way they're written, if I'm making sense. Plus, low to no chance of becoming mates with someone you're related to. As you said, I'd just hope this makes the Clans realize they need to change the code.

yes, please. a lot of people seem to hate it but... its cute.. i really love his crush on bristle. i dont mind if they do or dont actually become a thing but it would be nice if they did have an impact on the warrior code, hence the arc name

If they do decide to go with this ship, then at least it will be interesting to see the relationship play out from both POVs.

It's not the worst but I don't have hopes for it given it's unrequited. Bristlefrost always had her eyes on Stemleaf and Rootpaw fell in love with her because she saved him (He's such a disaster lol). Really it'd only be interesting in the sense that we'd be seeing a relationship from BOTH perspectives but tbh that's about it.

I dont really care if they get together or not. Right now i cant see it happen, Bristlefrost is still struggling with her feelings for Stemleaf, but she does like Rootpaw a lot as a friend. Rootpaw only started his apprenticeship, he is still young, maybe he will grow out of his crush for Bristlefrost. In most cases first loves arent long lasting, this seems to be a bit different in warriors universe though. Anyway, their friendship is cute, no more no less. If they become mates depends on how they develope, at the moment i cant see Bristlefrost return Rootpaws feelings, maybe when they are older. And if they become mates i hope that Bristlefrost doesnt get instantly pregnant. A forbidden romance without kits as a result would be a nice change.

I just want it to not be dragged out and annoying and angsty and make them stupid

Wouldn't work out most likely especially after Bristle's development.

Maybe the Purge TM happens and they become a new clan?

I like the idea of them together but I don't want it to happen either. Because almost every forbidden relationship does not end well. Even the one that did fly was extended for two arcs, and became a nuisance. If they do get together then I hope they break it off on good terms and realize their Clans are more important. But mainly I'm scared to ship them because the editors will find some way to butcher it.

It definitely needs some development, that's for sure. I think Bristlefrost will get over Stemleaf quickly, she's already accepted that he wants Spotfur, so it shouldn't be too long before she moves on, if she hasn't already.
I think this ship would do best as a slow-burn, like Fireheart and Sandstorm. If they could form a solid friendship first before actually starting a relationship, then I'm down. Maybe they don't officially get together until after Rootpaw is a warrior, like book 4. I just don't want their romance to be a main plot point, I'd rather it be a bit to the side, if that makes sense. Like, let the characters actually do important things by themselves and not let their romance get in the way, or steal the spotlight.
I think it'd be hilarious for Ivypool to walk in on them, like umbra said. Like, she had to deal with her sister for the last 3 or so years and now she has to watch her daughter do the same thing. she's gonna need some aspirin

Yup, me too, but the book kinda hints that the code will be reinforced and the codebreakers will be kicked out?

Honestly, if there's any arc where they're justified in including a forbidden romance, it's the one about breaking the code.
