Okay so here are a few of them! I have a few based on books/movies/TV shows I like too, but I didn't include them because I don't know what you like ^^' (I have some for the Chemical Gardens trilogy, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, the Jack the Giant Slayer movie, the Mortal Instruments series, and the His Dark Materials trilogy if you'd be interested in hearing any of those)
If nothing catches your fancy we can always brainstorm something else! I also tried making it as gender neutral as possible since almost all of these were originally m/f centered plots, but I'd be open to doing m/m or f/f. I've never role-played like that before with a romance involved though, so if we go that route I might be a little on the rough side ^^'
Plot 1: So I have this weird obsession with werewolves and vampires, but I already have a role-play partner who I'm doing something vampire based with. What I was thinking is having it set in Regency England (idk if you're familiar with Pride and Prejudice, if not highly recommend, but basically that time period) and character A is from a poorer family and goes to work for character B at their family estate. They're friends, but one night they're not paying attention and it's the full moon and a werewolf comes and basically kidnaps character A, turning them, and basically they're never seen again. Fast forward a few years and character B is studying werewolves (for whatever reason) and surprise! Character A is still alive but can't really control themselves on the full moon since they were bitten and not born, like the rest of the pack that they're staying with and we'd go from there!
Plot 2: Two children, inseparable as children, are torn apart by one of them moving away from the city and into the suburbs. A few short weeks after the move, a zombie outbreak occurs, tearing the world apart. Each child is forced to grow up quickly, and after many years apart, run into each other, both having gotten separated from their respective travelling groups. After hiding a night together from a horde of zombies below, they agree to an alliance, promising each other to look for the other’s travelling group. After a few days, they slowly begin to realize who each other is, which only makes things more complicated as they not only fight off feelings for each other, but struggle to survive in an post-apocalyptic world that tries to tear them apart with each turn.
Plot 3: This is kind of sci-fi meets fantasy; basically it takes place in the distant future and humans have polluted Earth so much that they're forced to make colonies on other planets in far away solar systems. The colony that this takes place on is basically exactly like Earth in every way, except that the natives can shift into animals (sticking to vertebrates). They are split into different tribes depending on what animal they shift into. Anyway, character A and their family arrives to the colony and meets character B, who lives across the street. The only thing is that no one knows that character B is actually a native on this world that was banished from their original home and came to live with the humans in order to survive. I was thinking we could go from both characters meeting with character A eventually finding out character B's secret.
Plot 4: Okay. This one is a little weird, but the inner horse girl in me couldn't help it lol. In an alternate universe where the basic elements (earth, fire, water, and air) are represented as horses, character A finds themself trapped in a truth that seems more like a fantasy. They are destined to be the rider of the spirit of fire—Ignis. However, the rider of the water spirit—Aqua—is determined to keep them from finding out, fearful of what they would do with that power that the position gives them. In the process, they meet and Aqua’s rider finds out that they are not at all like what character B thought they would be. Indecision racks character B apart as they discover that they have feelings for character A, but is too stubborn to realize that it’s hurting them both. (For reference, the other spirits are Terra (earth) and Caeli (air))
Plot 5: This is similar to plot 4 but also very not. In a secret government compound, experiments are performed on humans so that they can shift into animals. After a fire, the test subjects escape and are currently being hunted down. Almost all have either been recaptured and taken back to a new compound or killed, except for character A, who has managed to remain hidden for almost 2 years now. One day they run into character B as they're running from the scientists that experimented on them and drags character B along with them so that they don't get hurt, planning on leaving them behind once they're not in danger. Except that doesn't happen and they continue to run around the world while planning on saving the others like character A.
Plot 6: After growing up in a life of privilege and expectations, and character A is sent away to naval school and comes back with the prestigious title of Captain. On the celebration given for their return, they once again meet their childhood best friend, character B, who grew up next door to them. Character A is not the same child they were before though, and longs for a life full of adventure and lacking rules. Character B senses this in them and is wary, but character A is as cordial as ever, and character B soon forgets their misgivings. A few weeks pass in this manner, and they start a whirlwind romance. Character B's father, a wealthy merchant, decides to travel to one of his warehouses in the colonies in the Caribbean, asking for a naval guard to protect him and character B as they travel. Character A jumps to the chance to travel with them, and all is smooth sailing until one night when a terrible storm strikes. On top of that, there are pirates following them. In order to save their childhood friend, character A sacrifices themself as they give character B their anchoring. Clutching to the side of the ship, and large wave washes over them, and as it recedes, it takes character A with it. It's assumed that they died, and a few years pass. Character B is traveling to their father's warehouse again, when pirates overtake them and character A makes a dramatic reappearance. (This would take place at the same time as Pirates of the Caribbean)
Plot 7: In a small kingdom ruled by a king and queen very much in love with each other, they're running into a small problem. Their oldest child, character A, (or only child, depending on what you want/which character you claim!) is arrogant, selfish, and self-centered. As their old maid quits, character B is hired to take over. While character A annoys character B constantly with rude comments and whatnot, they eventually form a friendship which evolves into them developing feelings for each other. Right as everything seems to be falling into place, character A's parents announce their betrothal to a neighboring kingdom's heir.
Plot 8: When they were young, they were best friends in high school, even though they were completely different. Character A was popular and easy to get along with and everyone’s friend, while character B, well, wasn’t. They was moody and a social outcast and the only one who saw their softer side was character A, their best friend. That was, until they had a horrible fight that ended the friendship. Several years pass, and as character A follows their dreams and becomes one of Hollywood’s most famous actors/actresses, character B struggles to get by, hoping to one day follow their dream of producing movies. On the set of the newest movie being filmed, they run into each other, character B delivering the director his coffee and character A to get their hair and make-up done. After that awkward and somewhat angry run-in with each other, they can’t seem to get the other out of their head, and that isn’t helped by the fact that they keep bumping into each other. As they attempt to heal their broken friendship, it evolves into something more, which isn’t easy considering their very different lifestyles.
Plot 9: The classic high school romance, the school jock falls for the quiet girl. The twist to this is everyone knows that he likes her, but she can’t stand him. After relentlessly flirting with her and asking her out multiple times, only to be rejected over and over again, he finally moves on. Only after that does she realize that she likes him and the attention he constantly gives her. Confused as to what to do, she turns to his sister to try and win him back, but finds that it’s much harder to win his affections than she previously thought. (Sooo with my other plots I'm trying to make it so that m/m or f/f could work as well, if that's what you'd want, butttt I couldn't help myself with this one lol)
Plot 10: After being caught with multiple drugs, character A is sent to their aunt and uncle’s ranch in the middle of nowhere for the summer to straighten up. Angry and hurt that they were left behind, they don’t make things easy for anyone who works there, including character B, someone their age who is in it for the horses that are raised there. Unluckily for character A, character B doesn’t take anyone’s crap and throws it right back at them, shocking character A into reality: they're stuck here so they might as well make the most of it, and attempts to strike up a friendship with character B only to be rejected. It suddenly changes one day, when character B's tormentor starts working there and they turns to character A for help. Agreeing, they strike up a plan and find that they’re more alike than they thought.
Plot 11: Set in the classic comic book setting, there is a city, the second largest in the world, called Megaville. And in Megaville, there is a superhero and supervillain, constantly at odds. The hero protects the city from falling under the supervillain’s influence and turning dark, all while keeping their identity and secret and living a somewhat normal life when they're not saving the city from destruction. The villain, however, has other ideas. They want to find out the hero’s secret identity and bring them down that way, and to do so, they enlist the help of the most infamous villain in the entire world. By doing so, they unintentionally put everyone, including themself, in danger of death. What’s ironic about this whole situation is that both the villain and hero work in the same restaurant and have been flirting pretty heavily for quite some time. Will the villain find out that the cute waiter/waitress they secretly loves is actually their arch nemesis? And if they do, will they still love them? Not only that, will they be able to put their differences aside and protect the city they both love from destruction?
