The beginning of the beginning... Eight cats wander, in search of the home they dream of. Each wanting something better than what they had. Now, banded together, they look for that perfect place. And finally, they found it. Tall forests, running streams, opens moors, freedom...each has potential for all. Each calls to them all. But how do they know when they've found it? How will they keep this area safe? Future generation will flourish in this land, this land surrounding a lake seeming to be free of twolegs. It will be a safe place for all cats. Hopefully, they can just make it so.
Welcome to the beginning of the Ancients...
Current Settlement Size: 8 Cats She-cats: 2 Toms: 2 Young Cats: 1 Kits: 0 Queens: 0
Whispering Night - She is a black she-cat with swirled, grey tabby markings all over and yellow eyes. She is 24 moons old. She is a fierce she-cat, known in her past for her battles and protecting those she cared about. She is a loyal, supportive, and trustworthy friend. She has a soft spot of kits with the hopes of having her own one day. Whispering Night was once just called Night. She was born to a loner family that had its problems. Night woke up one morning to find that her mother had abandoned her, her brother and sister, and their father. Their father tired to do his best, but a fox attacked them one night. Their father died and her sister was badly injured. She eventually died, and Night decided it was time to leave that terrible place. Night and her brother eventually found homes near to each other. She kept to the forest while her brother found a home with twolegs. It was soon after that Night came across her starving mother and her two remaining kits. Apparently, she had run off with a new mate who had died, leaving her and her kits to starve. Having not sympathy for her mother but caring for her younger siblings, Night took them to her brother where they were cared for. However, rogue began attacking kittypets along the forest border. Protective as ever, Night began to defend the area, fighting off those that dared to come close. She was so quiet when they attacked, they began to say she was just a whisper, earning her the name Whispering Night. However, her home was soon destroyed for new twoleg dens. Knowing that her brother and younger siblings were safe, Whispering Night took off in search of a new home. She met her new friends along the way and joined them, searching for their forever place.
Larch Branch - He is a golden-brown tom with dark tabby stripes and bright green eyes. He is 10 moons old. He is a friendly cat that is much of a jokester. He enjoys making others smile and does his best to help brighten up there day. He is young and some would say foolish for his personality. However, Larch Branch knows when it is time to listen. It is sometimes alarming how such a happy cat can get so serious. Larch Branch was born to a kittypet and a loner. His father was deeply devoted to them. He loved their mother very much. When they got old enough, Larch Branch's sisters were taken to be raised by twolegs. He decided to stay with his mother. He lived with her until she was expecting her next litter. At that point, young Larch (what he was called at that time) left home. He began to hang out on a specific branch on a Larch tree. Cats that came began to tease him for it, calling him just another branch on the tree. He liked it though and began to call himself Larch Branch. At least, they would have known his name if the dog hadn't chased him. The dog was suddenly there, pulling away from it's twoleg and ripping into his tail. Larch Branch passed out only to wake up in a metal twoleg cage. Scared and in pain, Larch Branch was kept confined until his now-a-stub tail was healed. When he was brought to a twoleg home, he ran. His tail was still wrapped up and it took a bit to get it off. It was then he was introduced to the group. They made him go back to finish getting healed before joining them on their journey. He is excited to find a forever home with them.
Thyme's Song - She is a very pale, silvery she-cat with icy blue eyes. She is 12 moons old. She is a very soft, sweet cat. She's never fought a battle in her life and is slightly scared to. She does, however, enjoy her time in the forest. She loves to play with kits and hopes for some of her own soon. Thyme's Song was born as a kittypet named Ellie. She was a very small she-cat that was treasured by her parents and the twolegs. She stayed at home with them even as her siblings left. She was well loved and loved to explore and talk to the neighboring cats. When a new neighbor moved in with a cat, she was the first to introduce herself. However, this turned out really bad as he began to get aggressive with her, biting at her and clawing at her fur. She was actually saved by Whispering Night who heard her cry out for help. She managed to get away but didn't see the she-cat that saved her life. After a moon of healing, she tried to find her. It only took a little bit for her to find the group. She didn't directly go with them for she loved her home. However, when she tried to return, a dog chased her far away. It was over a moon later that the group - now consisting of Larch Branch - found her, hungry and scared. They managed to find her home a few days later only to find her twolegs were gone. Heartbroken, she decided to go with them. As such, she was given the new name, Thyme's Song, as a tribute to the thyme that grew in the garden of the twoleg den and the brightness of her spirit. Now, Thyme's Song just hopes to find a new place to live where she can care for others and raise a litter or two.
Rumbled Rock - He is a dark grey tom with small, black spots and a slightly grey muzzle and amber eyes. He is 40 moons old. Rumble Rock is a tough cat. He is one of those "action first, think later" toms that have their fair share of battle scars. He gives off the cold shoulder and just doesn't seem to care at times. He does care, just doesn't outwardly show it. He shows it in smaller way like sharing prey with you or keeping you warm at night. Rumbled Rock was born to two rogues and with three other siblings. The first things they were taught was to fight, then to hunt. It was common to see Rumbled Rock (then Rock) easily defeating his younger siblings. His family was almost always on the move, fighting dogs and other cats, avoiding sicknesses or rats and twolegs. It was a constant battle. His younger brother was killed by another cat when they were attacked one evening and his sister died due to a sickness. His father starved to death, and his mother disappeared when they were just 8 moons old. Rock began to do his best with his sister to fight off anyone that dared to come close to them. They kept moving and fighting, traveling miles away from where they had been. One day, a tom bested him in battle. In order to save his life, his sister agreed to go with the tom and stay with him. Devastated, Rock continued to train for many, many moons, traveling and fighting before returning to the area to save his sister. He found her in a den with several kits. She had become mates with the tom. He was protecting them from the dangers around. Feeling betrayed, Rock left, never looking back at his sister's calls to stay. All he bothered to see when he left was the disappointed face of the tom that bestest him. Rock continued to travel for many moons. He encountered an area that had little food and water, almost starving to death, he was saved by Whisper Night. She helped him heal and left him on his way. However, he felt a debt to the she-cat and began traveling with her. Since he just grumbled at her for a while, she told him his name was Rumbled Rock, since his voice had a deep rumble to it. Now, he is part of the group. He doubts he will find a place that will make him happy, but he will help the cats find their happiness. And maybe he will as well.
Coal - He is a pitch black tom with dark grey shading on him and icy blue eyes. He is 28 moons old. Coal is a player. He lives in a barn by the lake with two other she-cats. He enjoys hunting and patrolling his area, fighting anyone he wants to. He is a smooth talker and can make anyone fall for his voice. He has mated before and has kits to the two she-cats in the barn but has never taken a permanent mate. Coal has lead a very simple life. He was born as a barn cat in another barn. He grew up with two brothers and two sisters. When he was 5 moons old, they were all given away to other twolegs. Coal was brought to his barn. He grew up being fawned by the elder cats that used to live there. When he was 12 moons, they passed away. Alone, Coal began wandering around the lake. He learned from another she-cat that he was quite attractive and used that to make others do what he wanted and tricked them for fun. He began to flirt with almost every she-cat he came across. Two have returned to his barn, claiming to have his kits. He didn't really know what to do, and they ended up leaving. He has no idea what has happened to them nor does he care too much. At times he wondered but doesn't dwell on it. A few moons ago, two new cats were added to the barn, both she-cats. Both are currently expecting his kits and don't have a problem with it.
Dust - She is a dusty, brown she-cat with brown fawn-spotting, a short bob-tail, and leaf green eyes. She is 16 moons. Dust is a sarcastic she-cat. She is defensive mostly because she has been hurt in the past. She loves to swim, even lives on a little island in the middle of a stream. She has no problem with rain or swamp lands. Dust was born in the twoleg place to a rogue. She had two sisters. Growing up was hard. Her family was constantly avoiding twolegs, dogs, rats, and other cats. It was very hard to find food. At 2 moons old, both her sister's starved to death. Her parents tried the best they could from that point on to have her survive. At 4 moons old, her uncle suddenly appeared, trying to help them. He had gotten a group together to try and survive. For a while, the group lived in peace. Until her uncle started to get greedy and power hungry. He tried to take over the entire twoleg place. When her father stood up to him, he killed him. Her mother and she tried to escape after that, but her mother was killed, and her tail was damaged to the point only a stub was left. Scarred from this, Dust has a hard time trusting others. Her uncle had tried to use her to make others see his ways. As such, she has a slight fear of groups and has avoided them.
Fox - She is an orange she-cat with a slight red tint, white fox-like markings, black ear tips, and yellow eyes. She is 30 moons old. Fox is a silent she-cat. She doesn't talk much and prefers to be alone. She enjoys hunting as it is very calming to her. Fox was born around the lake. She lived with her mother and sister. Her father had left before she was born, but her mother said she looks just like him. She didn't take this very well seeing as her father just left them. Her mother wasn't all that hurt and tried to tell her daughter that. Fox grew up trying to take care of her family. She chased away a fox when it came to close to them and hunted for her sister during the colder moons. When she was 12 moons old, her mother and sister decided to leave the lake territory. Her sister had decided to become a kittypet, and her mother wanted to move on to find a new mate and raise more kits. Fox decided to stay. She has a slight aversion to tom. She doesn't trust them. Part of her wonders if she will always be alone or will find someone to be with. Maybe one day but for right now, she's fine on her own.
Sugar - She is a pure white she-cat with slight grey tints to her fur and deep teal eyes. She is 16 moons old. She is a soft she-cat. Not in that she can't be very fierce but in looks. She looks gentle and caring, and she very much is. She is very soft hearted and cares deeply for others. She is very excited for her kits to come. Sugar was born in a twoleg house with several other cats. She had two other siblings and there were three other litters. It wasn't that great of a place since they didn't have much to eat or a good place to rest It smelled terribly of other cats. When she was around 3 moons old, a bunch of other twolegs came and took them all away. For a while, they were in a place with a bunch of other cats and dogs, each well taken care of but wanting to be let out. She can still hear the howling of the dogs at times. Sugar stayed with her siblings for a little while till she got sick. They were taken away to new homes but she had to stay behind until she was well enough. At 10 moons old, she was taken by the twolegs to live in the barn. She was very shy of the big area, having never really seen the outside. It took some time for her to adjust but when she did, she did very well for herself. She is currently expecting Coal's youngest litter. She isn't really bothered by the fact he doesn't care. She just can't wait to see her kits.
Cub - He is a golden tom with brown jaguar-like markings, a white muzzle, chest, and paws, and sweet blue eyes. He is 8 moons old. Cub is a curious cat. He enjoys asking questions to understand things. He isn't always the smartest cat around but does his best to try. Cub is a young cat that got lost. He was raised in a twoleg home. It was a very simple life. In fact, it was very easy. He loved playing with his brother and sisters. He loved the attention of his twolegs. He loved sleeping next to his mother and father. When he was 5 moons old, his siblings and he were given to new homes. Cub's heart grew bigger with love. He became very explorative. He looked into every nook and cranny and tested everything out. His twolegs didn't always appreciate his exploration but loved him all the same. About a moon ago, they went traveling and brought Cub with them. When he was relaxing in the sun with them, a dog suddenly attacked him. Scared, Cub ran fast and away from his twolegs. He hid in the forest only to be chased away by another rogue. Lost and confused, Cub managed to make his way back to this lake. But his twolegs were gone. He now waits for them, hoping they will come back. Cub isn't doing so well on his own and hopes they will return soon.

Otter Ripple || 38 Moons || Tom Otter Ripple is of average size with a well muscled form and round features. His pelt is like a chocolate cream color with dark brown almost black points. Thick and short is a good way to describe the status of his fur. His eyes are a frosty blue that really stand out against his dark pelt. While of average size this tom is still a very skilled warrior, swift acting and courageous are definitely good words to describe this toms personality. He can be stubborn and a little hot headed at times, but he is fiercely loyal and would never do anything to hurt or betray someone that he loves or he considers family. Was born and raised in the wild, and was recently with a different group of cats. He had a mate who was expecting kit and life couldnt have been more perfect. However his mate ended up dying while she kitted and the kits didnt survive either. Heart broken and unable to look at his friends due to the fact that he knew they would remind him of her and the family he just lost, the tom left and started over, carrying the memory of his beloved mate with him. He is still trying to get over her. ◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇ Storm Cry || 41 Moons Old || Tom Broad mostly white tom with splashes of dusky grey scattered across his pelt. There is some grey in a semi circle formation under his chin and rounding the bottom part of the base of his jawline. This tips of his ears has small grey splashes and so does his paws and tail. He has long fur that he can never seen to keep clean, and two very different colored eyes. One is a deep blue, and the other amber. Is known for his deep rumbling of a meow. He has a score of claw marks on his left shoulder and flank, and two v-shaped nicks on her right ear. Storm Cry is very attentive and isn't afraid to speak his mind, and due to that he can be quite blunt at times. He stands very strongly about doing the right thing and not putting others in harms way. This tom will firmly stand for what he believes in, even if that means to give up his life for it. He does tend to have a one track mind sometimes causing him to only see things from one point of view, which has at times caused him to seem like a dark-hearted cat. Despite all of this the tom has a vast knowledge of herbs and is the one you would go to if something was wrong with you. If you are able to get past his bluntness, he really is a good hearted cat who likes to care for others. Has been a loner all his life finding strays here and there and befriending them as he traveled, but never found the right group for him untill he ran into this one. He finally feels as if he is where he belongs and has purpose. ◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇ Maple Spots || 19 Moons || She-cat Pretty shecat with a dark cream pelt that is enhanced with reddish brown spots. The reddish brown that covers all her points; ears, muzzle, tail, feet ; becomes more of a rich dark brown. Her fur is short but thick and her eyes a pale green, like the first green of New Leaf (spring time). She is of average size with well formed muscled now that she is eating properly, sadly she used to be skin and bones along with her sister Arctic Breeze. Maple Spots is a little bit shorter than her sister but not my much. She is a sweet hearted cat that will always have an optimistic outlook on life. This spotted shecat will always bring out the good in others and even if she cant find she will always believe its there. Sadly she believes the best of others to a fault, which has already proven to be horrible for her. But still she refuses to give up on honestly, good-will, and love. Maple Spots is one who greatly desires to one day be a queen and mother to multiple litters, knowing that kits are the future of ones legacy. Her and Arctic Breeze were born and raised in a twoleg home when suddenly their twolegs stopped coming home and quickly her and her family began to starve. The two sisters were the only ones left alive when a stranger twoleg showed up and freed them from the confines of the house. Not waiting for anything they darted out and into the closest garden where they had found fresh water and golden fish in a little pool. The fish didnt last the two starving cats long and they were soon chased away, roaming and starving as they went from garden to garden teaching themselves to hunt. Rumble Rock soon found them while on a hunt and invited them to join their little group. Her old kittypet name was Jellybean. ◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇ Arctic Breeze || 19 Moons || She-cat Pretty shecat with pale cream almost white pelt that is enhanced with dark brown spots. On her face legs and tail her spots blend together into stripes. Her nose and the bridge of her nose are dark brown as well as the back of her ears. The round eyes on this molly are a striking aqua blue that seem to never miss anything that happens around her. Arctic Breeze is a very vigilant she-cat feeling like she must always be on guard. If life had gone her way in the begining she would probably still be curled up in the lap of her first twoleg, but now this young cat is braving the wilds and doing her best to make herself feel at home with her newly found companions. She is very protective and loyal at heart, but might be a little over protective of her sister especially since she knows that her sister tends to be a little unrealistic at times when it comes to trusting things. Arctic Breeze constantly takes it upon herself to be her sisters voice of reason to keep her from danger in any way. This dappled cat has also made a solemn vow to herself that she would never trust twolegs or ever enter their houses ever again, due to fear of starvation and or death. Her kittyper name was Snow. ◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇ Crow || 53 Moons || Tom Massive charcoal grey and black tom with a thick long coated pelt. He is tall and broad with hardened muscles that are hidden beneath his coat. His face, paws, back, and the top side of his tail are prominently black while the rest of his coat is shades of dark grey with a paler grey under coat. This tom has strong facial features and eyes that look like liquid gold. Crow is a very reserved tom, one of few words. Shy would be a good way to describe this toms personality even if you did become great friends with him, however he is no coward despite his reserved tendencies. Due to the fact that he has lived alone the majority of his life this tom lacks social skills and can at times be a little awkward. He can be kind and caring in his own way but he likes to stick to a routine and isnt a fan of change. Abandoned as a kit by twolegs this tom doesnt remember a time in life where he wasn't alone. Teaching hinself the ways of the wild so that he could survive Crow grew into a strong and capable tom cat. A couple times he tried to be apart of a small group and even tried to take a mate but something always happened or came in the way and it never worked out. He has learned to find comfort in his solitude, and doesnt see himself living life any other way. He lives on the moorlands and his den is close to the tree line where the forest begins. (Pretty much the border of what would be Windclan and Thunderclan). (If he is to join the group someone will have to be relentless, that or make him fall in love with them). ◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇ Fawn || 29 Moons || She-cat Petite would be ones first observation of this russet queen. Her pelt is medium length and her tail long and fluffy. There is black shaded through her pelt especially along her spine and top half of her tail and on the edges of her legs and on the bottoms of her paws. The backs of her ears are shaded a darker red rimmed black and so are the few stripes that accent her cute round featured face. With eyes that are the color of honey and black lined nose, lips and eyes, she is very pretty. She lives deep in the forests past the recently abandoned quarry close to a meadow that she claims as her own. She has recently become pregnant by a loner that was passing through. (Im not sure how I want her personality to be yet)

Whispering Night padded forward through the brush. In the breeze, she could detect the scent of water. Not rain, water, which meant that the was water nearby. Maybe a river of a large stream. Either way, it could be a safe place for them. Maybe home. It would be nice to find out. The black she-cat stepped out and spotted the tree-line ahead. She could see through the brush signs of a moor land. Whiskers twitching, she called back to the rest of the group. "There is water ahead. And it looks like moors ahead of us. We might be able to find a few rabbits to fill our bellies."
Rumbled Rock snorted annoyed. He wasn't a fan of the hills. He was a fighter, not a runner. The chances of him catching a rabbit was the same as Maple Spots winning in a fight: zero. Granted, the she-cat had been tough to make it this far. But he highly doubted she could best another cat in battle. "Great. Wet fur and wind, just what I need."
Larch Branch jumped excitedly at the thought of open moors. "Ah! I could go with a nice rabbit. They might be quick, but I'm quicker. And I highly doubt you have to swim for the rabbits, Rumbled Rock. No point in going fishing since none of us really know how to." The brown tom darted forward past Whispering Night, calling her to nip cautiously at his tail as he flew past. Stopping just before the moors, the tom poked his head out. "Wow! It's so open! This will be great! I can already see some rabbits."
"I don't think I've ever had rabbit before. Is it good?" Thyme's Song asked softly. She had been the last to join them on the journey. There was still sadness in her eyes from the loss of her home. However, she seemed much better than before. However, he steps were slow, and her ears flat showing how tired she was getting. "Will there be a place to rest for a bit?"
(I posted all of them just to get a good feel of them. We don't have to do every character every time we post, but we should at least get them well rounded and a good feel for them.)

Otter Ripple was just a tail length behind Whispering night. Just as he too could scent the water ahead of them he heard the black shecat state it out loud. "I could definitely go for a drink of fresh running water, the last couple puddles we found were too murky and stale for my liking", the dark cream and brown tom stated. They had been traveling for a while and he liked Thymes Song idea of finding a good place to rest. "I'm sure we'll come across a nice sheltered area to rest in soon", he meowed to the young shecat and then looked to Larch Branch. "Hey, you soft paw, why dont you and I run ahead of the group and try to tackle a hare or two for us all. It bout time we all ate something." The tom had taken a friendly liking to the young male and as traveled he had taken it upon himself to help Larch Branch out and teach him better hunting techniques and a couple fighting moves. He had also started to call him a soft paw, for his young paws were still soft, not yet hardened by the world and all the experiances that came with it. ((And so the first mentor/apprentice duo has come into existence I hope thats okay with you. Every since I read Larch Branch's bio I just knew that I wanted Otter Ripple to he his mentor )) Maple Spots and Arctic Breeze had been traveling just behind Rumbled Rock, their bodys and pelts so simular that as they walked matching step for step they almost seemed to blend into one cat. Hearing the prospect of getting to eat and rest the two shecats felt their spirits rise and lifted their drooping heads. Maple Spots was the first of the pair to jump inti the conversation. "I know how to fish", she meowed her soft voice barley audible due to the harch breeze that swept towards them from the moorlands. Her pale green eyes look matter of factly towards Larch Branch, for this soft young shecat didnt have much to offer the group. Her skills in the ways of fishing hadn't been much help lately because there were no bodies of water to fish from. The idea of being able to help provide for the group made the cream and brown spotted shecat feel a sense of worth and determination to play a part in helping the group survive. Arctic Breeze remained silent as they others spoke about what they were going to do and what lay ahead of them. She was just ready to find a nice place to settle in and never have to travel again. Her paw pads were sore from having traveled so far but this pain she kept to herself with a blank expression and still tail. She listened as her sister spoke up to inform the others of her fishing talent, reminding the pale shecat of when the two of them were practically dead from starvation and Maple Spots, Jellybean then, fished out of the small ponds within the twoleg gardens and a couple times in small stream after it had rained a lot. Looking at Maple Spots the shecat blinked sweetly towards her as she continued to follow Whispering Night wherever she might take them. Storm Cry had positioned himself at the back of the group and was so relieved to hear the group talk of hunting and resting. "Oh yes a nice plump mouse or rabbit would be the perfect meal right now!" He exclaimed picking up his pace, his white coat dusty and tangled from their travels. "A full belly, a good relaxing grooming, and a nap is all I want right now. Whispering Night should we be on the lookout yet for a place to spend the night?", the tom questioned curiously.

"Yes!" Larch Branch let out a yowl of excitement before darting out into the moors. He raced forward several fox-length before stopping in a heather bush. He peaked out around it to see a hare hopping around slowly. Larch Branch froze, not moving, wanting to conserve his energy and wait for Otter Splash. The tip of his tail twitched excitedly back and forth. However, with the wind blowing, the hare couldn't tell, thinking it was just natural movement out of the corner of his eyes.
Whispering Night shook her head as the young cat darted off into the field. "Otter Splash, I rely on you to make sure he doesn't get hurt." She said to the brown tom. "Rumble Rock, why don't you take Maple Spot and Arctic Breeze to the source of the water. Maybe we will have fish for a change. Thyme' Song, Storm Cry, and I can try and find us a place to rest for the night. Then, we can check out the area more fully. This might be the place we were looking for." The black she-cat padded out of the trees but kept to the tree-line. She watched Otter Splash and Larch Branch hunt while scenting the air for any possible dangers. The scent of sheep, cows, and badgers filtered through her nose. They would need to be careful.
Rumbled Rock turned his head to the sisters. He could practically feel the tiredness pouring from them. With a flick of her tail over their ears, the tom began moving forward to a high hill. "Come. We might be able to see where the water source is from up here." He rumbled at them. The tom was also keeping an eye out for any dangers. There was a lot of rabbit scent but nothing else close nearby.
Thyme's Song sighed heavily and forced her tired paws to move after Whispering Night. "Can we find a place with moss? It's not that I have a problem with bracken, it's just not as soft." She whispered lightly to Storm Cry. She was a little afraid of Whispering Night. The she-cat was powerful and slightly mysterious. Either way, asking her for comfortable things made her feel like a kittypet more than the others. As such, asking for comfort like that, she was afraid of being weak or soft or looked down upon.

Otter Splash watched as Larch Branch took off with such energy that it made the tom feel like an elder. Looking quickly to Whispering Night he dipped his head, "He's safe with me, just as long as he listens." With a sparkle of humor in his eyes Otter Splash summoned forth his energy and bounded after the young tom. Catching up he paused with the tabby just behind the heather bush. "Remember rabbits will hear you before they even see you. Silence and soft pawsteps are key. You try for this one, and I will be right behind you to help if need be. Oh and dont let it give a death cry, sounds travels far here on the moorlands with no trees and leave to muffle it." Done intructing the tom he gave a gentle nudge to the tabbys flank signaling for him to advance.
"Oh that sounds good to us, doesnt it Arctic Breeze", Maple Spots mewed stepping forwards when she heard Whispering Night mention for Rumbled Rock to go with them to try out some fishing. Flicking her Arctic Breeze's pelt with her tail the cream and brown spotted shecat prompted a reply from her still silent sister.
Not too happy about be volunteered to go do anything Arctic Breeze remained quiet untill prompted to do so by her sister. "Uh yeah, lets get this over with", she meowed giving a quick sharp look to the black shecat before turning her icy gaze towards Rumbled Rock. Stepping close to the grey tom she flicked her tail impatiently waiting for him to lead them up the hill.
"We will find you something. And if we dont im sure that Otter Splash and Larch Branch will return with a rabbit. Rabbits has very soft downy fur if you are up to tearing out tufts any putting them in your nest then be my guest." Storm Cry some what pitied the young cat, knowing that this entire journey was so far out of this cats comfort zone that he was surprised she made it this far without giving up. "Dont loose hope, we will be home soon. I saw it written in the stars just last night", he meowed and gave her a nudge before trotting over to Whispering Night to join her in search for a nesting area. "How bout looking in those sheltered dips in the terrain? It would sheild us from the cold breeze come night time."

Larch Branch had to force down the purr of pride and excitement. He was so excited that Otter Splash was allowing him to try their first hunt here! Slowly, keeping is back muscles ready to spring forward, the young cat moved forward silently, even avoiding a small twig on the ground. His eyes on the rabbit in front of him, he barely noticed the scent of young, baby rabbits nearby. When the rabbit began to get suspicious that someone was around, Larch Branch dashed forward with surprising speed. The rabbit turned, kicking up dirt as it tried to flee. However, Larch Branch was already on top of it. He killed it quickly with a single bite just as the heather nearby suddenly shook violently. Four young rabbits suddenly burst forth and sprung away, two right towards Otter Splash.
Rumbled Rock had to hold back an eye roll at Arctic Breeze's attitude. We've all lived tough lives, kit, he thought. Don't take it out on the wrong people. He marched up the hill, quickly leaving the other two behind before looking down. His breath caught in his throat just a little bit. There, beyond the hills, was a large lake. Open, glistening with the light of the rapidly lowering sun. There didn't seem to be any twoleg boats on it making him think they just weren't common around here. Either way, the lake both annoyed him and welcomed him. Maybe Whispering Night was right. Maybe they did find there home here.
Whispering Night turned her head as Storm Cry padded up beside her. Glancing behind her to see the tired kittypet and the nervousness in her eyes, the black she-cat whispered back to the time. "I want to find somewhere more covered." She said quietly. "Someplace that we will feel more protected. The moors are fine and all, but the scent of sheep and cow make me worried about twolegs and dogs. I don't want to have any issues tonight." Flicking her tail, the scent of badger was suddenly stronger. She bared her teeth and looked into the forest beside them. "Thyme's Song! Get on the other side of Storm Cry."
Thyme's Song darted on the other side of Storm Cry, fear wide in her eyes. She could see the bracken moving before a large black and white shape moved forward. The badger eyed them with it's beady gaze. She heard Whispering Night snarled fiercely at the creature. However, it didn't seem phased. In fact, it just looked more annoyed to be bothered. With a chuffing noise, the badger just walked past them, sticking to the forest. It didn't seem to want to attack, but Thyme's Song still kept Storm Cry in between her and the badger.
(Also, I'm thinking that there could be a rogue or loner or two in this area that they can interact with. Small characters at first before they become more involved with them. I also have the farm here, so I wonder if we can introduce any barn cats to this equation. I'm thinking of making a tom barn cat that's a playboy that has litters with multiple she-cat.)

Otter Splash watched as Larch Branch stalked forwards almost wincing thinking he would step on the small twig in his path but the young tom floated right over it. The young cats form was perfect and it made the creamy brown and black tom proud. Holding back he watched at the rabbit finally realized that the apprentice was there the two gave way to a small chase ending with the rabbit clamped firmly in Larch Branches jaws. Just as he was about to exit his hiding place to give his crongrats for a good kill his ice blue eyes caught sight of more movement. Instinctively the tom pounced catching on of the baby rabbits in his jaws and after a moment of batting at the second one he had it pinned between his dsrk paws. Eyes wide with excitment from the hunt he crunched down on the rabbit he held in his mouth and the proceeded to do the same to the other. "Good kill, come on let bring these back to Whispering Night and the others", he meowed then picked up the two yearling rabbits and waiting for Larch Branch.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
"Come on Arctic Breeze, you could be nicer", Maple Spots scolded and then bounded off after Rumbled Rock leaving her sister to catch up on her own. Reaching the top the shecat came to a halt, unable to believe what her eyes could see. "Great Ancestors! This place is beautiful!", she exlaimed slowly padding up to the toms side. "Water, forests, moorlands! This is what we've been searching for. Do you think this could be it? No more wondering. We could settle, make actual dens and claim territory of our own." Maple Spots pale green eyes were wide with excitement as she dreamed of what this place could be for them. Turning she rested them onto Rumbled Rocks form waiting to see what he thought about it.
Arctice Breeze lashed her tail in annoyance of her sisters scolding and watched as she bounded away to join Rumbed Rock at the top of the hill. Taking a second she breathed and did her best to relax. Things will get better, she told herself. We wont travel till the day we die, the shecat was doing her best to give herself a pep talk as she slowly made her way after the two. Almost to the top she could see her sister and the tom staring out at something, "What do you guys see?" She questioned curiously her tone much kinder than the time before.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Storm Cry was not ready for what happened next. He was taken by conplete surprise when a badger came lumbering out of the brush. A deep growl quickly rose from his chest and was released from his mouth as his fur fluffed, back began to arch and he stiffened his legs as he positioned himself in front of Thymes Song. "Whispering Night, we dont stand a chance against a badger right now. We have not the strength" he advised through his growling. "We should retreat back to the other and leave the area for the time being." The group was in now shape to take on a badger, especially after undergoing just a journey. The badger lumbered closer still to them and the large white and grey tom hissed aggressively but stood his ground not about to leave the black shecat to defend herself alone.
((Oh that would be interesting! I would make a rogue or two if thats the case. And slowly introduce them

Larch Branch lashed his tail back and forth in excitement. When the young rabbits had jumped out from the bush, he had been worried about not being able to find more prey from it. However, Otter Splash had jumped from out of nowhere and killed two of them, easily making enough food for the eight of them. Purring, the young tabby picked up the larger rabbit and bounded over to the older tom. "That was amazing!" He said as he dropped the rabbit to the ground. He bounced around Otter Splash. "You got two rabbits at once! You've got to teach me that! Was it because they were young? Super close? Or are you just that fast?"
Rumbled Rock looked down at Arctic Breeze. "A lake," he said, not a tone in his voice revealed about the beauty or awe of it. "Very large with almost no twolegs to see." Twitching his nose, the tom took a few steps closer. He looked over the area, spotting marshes, thick forests, and the open moors where they currently were. Narrowing his eyes slightly against the wind, Rumbled Rock spotted a dip in the ground, surrounded by heather and stone. "That might be a good place to rest. It will shield us from the winds."
Whispering Night bared her teeth as the badger wandered off. As much as she didn't want to sleep in the open moors tonight, they had to. Storm Cry was right. A badger could mean death or a serious injury for one of them. Turning her head away from the forest, she spotted Rumbled Rock, Maple Spots, and Arctic Breeze on a high hill, just ahead. "Alright, we will join them to try and find some shelter. At least for tonight, they we keep moving on." In her mind, badgers did not equal their home, so they had to keep looking.
Thyme's Song gently touched her nose to Storm Cry's shoulder. "I've never seen a badger before. Are they normally that big?" She whispered. Scared and in shock, Thyme's Song looked even more weak than before. The silvery she-cat was tired, scared, and just wanted to find a home. When Whispering Night mentioned to keep moving, her eyes shown with dismay. "Can't we rest here for a bit? Gain our strength and then move if we don't find our home?"

Otter Ripple chuckled in amusement at the young tom and his unending excitement. "Ha ha well it comes with experience. Im more than positive that after a couple more moons of training you would be able to do the same." His words were encouraging and he looked Larch Branch in the eyes. Something came into his mind and he faced the young cat head on with the rabbits at their paws. "From now on Larch Branch, I Otter Ripple, vow to care for you, protect you, and teach you the ways of an honorable cat. In turn do you vow to listen to me, trust me, and always do what is right and honorable?" His tail was still and his eyes and ears seriously focused on the young tabby. For Otter Ripple this was a pivotal moment, he personally had never bound himself to another cat before. The tom felt something special about Larch Branch and he had the highest hopes for the type of cat that the tabby could possibly become.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Arctic Breeze blinked trying to clear her eyes as they watered from the gusts of wind that buffeted the cats ontop the hill. With the sun setting and reflecting off the lake it made the entire territory around the lake glow. It was a beautiful sight to behold.
"Well lets go check it out!", Maple Spots meowed looking to the spot that Rumbled Rock was talking about. "Race you there", she added quickly and despite her sore paws and aching mucsles the cream and brown shecat took off and bounded down the hill towards the shelterd spot.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Storm Cry took his fluffed out feathery tail and wrapped it around Thymes Song protectively. "Yes thats what the average badger looks like. Its best we move on, and as fast as possible." He knew that the young shecat aas exhausted but this place was far from safe, and they could not take the risk. "Im sure we wont have to travel much farther, just focus on tonight", he meowed encouraging her to move on and follow after Whispering Night. "Yes, lets regroup as soon as possible", he added to the black shecat knowing they would be safer in numbers.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
The scent of badger was strong and it made his lips curl in disgust. The last thing he needed was for a badger to settle on his territory. Putting his nose to the ground Crow cautiously began to follow the the creatures scent. Picking his way to the edge of the forest the tom realized that the badger had made its way into the moorlands. A growl arose from his throat at the thought of the badger digging a set out there and birthing cubs. Leaving the shelter of the forest behind the tom made his way to the top of the closest hill to get a good look around him trying to figure out where the badger went. Reaching the top, the breeze took him buy surprise but he remained unwavered. Looking down to all that surrounded him, he quickly caught the sight of movement and focused his yellow eyes on it. It was cats, whole group of them... he could see about 5 or six, the closest 3 headed for the others that began to slip down and over the next hill. Who were they? And what were they doing here? All thoughts of the badger had slipped his mind and he stood there watching, curious of the new comers.

Larch Branch's eyes grew wide. For some reason, he began to feel that this was a pivotal moment. That something...something bigger was going to come of this. Not just his training - which he was incredibly excited for - but in the future. That is would be something all cats would do one day. Squaring his shoulders, Larch Branch faced Otter Ripple so that he was directly opposite to him, staring him in the eyes. "I vow to learn in the ways of doing what is right an honorable." He quoted back to the tom. He began to feel a light tingling in his paws. Some exciting was surely going to happen.
Rumbled Rock rolled his eyes at Maple Spots's sudden burst of energy. The thought of a good place to rest had suddenly made his old bones ache. Now here he was, racing after a kittypet. Fighting down a sigh, the tom kept an eye out for dangers as Arctic Breeze joined them. He nodded to her before giving the area one last check over. Only then did her start moving down the hill towards the dip in the ground. Flicking his tail, Rumbled Rock did make sure to keep an eye on Maple Spots. He just hoped she wouldn't get injured is all. Storm Cry was off somewhere else, and he didn't know any herbs.
Whispering Night looked down at Thyme's Song before glancing up at storm Cry, worried. While Larch Branch seemed to have plenty of energy, it was becoming very obvious that the younger, kittypet members of the group were having a hard time adjusting to loner life. Not to mention that they still hadn't found a home after a good moon or so's searching. Maybe they should stay in this area for a little bit before sending one or two cats out to do patrols and see if there is something better. That way, some could rest and be protected while others tried to find the best home possible.
Thyme's Song spotted Maple Spots, Arctic Breeze, and Rumbled Rock disappearing over the hill again. Apparently, they hadn't spotted the group. With a small cry, the young she-cat pushed herself to race forward to the hill. They had already gone around it so she was going up on the side near the lake. Catching the glinting sunset rays on the water, the silver she-cat paused in awe. She hadn't seen something like that before! So much water...There was a shiver of fear up her spine for a heartbeat before she turned to Whispering Night and Storm Cry. "It was a lake you smelled!" She called back to them.

Otter Ripple felt honored that Larch Branch vowed to him in return and when he was done, the brown tom dipped his head down and touched noses with the young cat. Pulling away he straightened back up and looked down proudly at the tabby. "Never forget this." He was firm in his words then lightened up a little bit. "We should be getting back, I cant wait to eat and Im sure the others cant wait either." Allowing the young cat to carry his own kill, Otter Ripple gathered up the two small yearlings and then began head towards the top of the hill they had come from. They would have to figure out where the rest of the group wondered off too, and hopefully once they reached the top of the hill they would be able to see the rest of their group.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
By the time Maple Spots reached the sheltered dip in the ground she was conpletly winded. Panting she slowed to a walk and began sniffing around the area trying to make sure that they were not encroaching on another cat or creature for that matter. The scents seemed stale, all but one. The scent of mice. As she slowly rounded a boulder the young shecat noticed the small dusky pelt of a mouse and she sprung forwards. Initially missing with her pounce she then proceeded to try to snag the scurrying mouse with her claws. After a moment of flailing away her claw finally snagged it's pelt and she threw it into the air. The mouse landed on the ground with a thud, stunning it so she could easliy pin it down and kill it with a nip to the neck. This hadn't been her first kill but there had been many times before this that she had failed to secure her prey and it escaped. It made Maple Spots feel like she was finally getting the hang of hunting. With a proud purr the cream and brown dappled shecat turned around to show the others. Weakly trotting back to them she mewed, "Good choice Rumbled Rock, I couldn't scent anything here but mice, and look! I caught one!"
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Storm Cry was expecting a small form of water source, but his thoughts were nothing compared to what he acrually saw when he reached the top of the hill with the others. His blue and amber eyes grew wide, the way the sun made the water glow instantly brought the tom back to the dream that he had a couple nights before. Moving closer to Whispering Night the tom spoke in a hushed tone. "Whispering Night, this is what I saw in the dream that I told you about the other day... I believe our home is some where around this lake". The toms deep voice was clear and full of awe. He had had vision filled dreams before, but nothing so clear and accurate like this. For Storm Cry this was a clear sign that this is where they were supposed to be, and he only hoped that the others would come to feel the same way.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Crow had remained ontop the hill, the only thing that changed was that he had lowered his haunches to a sitting position. He had no intentions of hiding his large dark form, this was his territory and these cats were trespassers. However Crow was not focused on that, he had never seen a group of cats traveling like this before. The scents that were carried on the winds were unfamiliar and strange, they were definitely new to the area. Where they just passing through? Would they stay and settle here? These questions along with others flowed into the toms mind as he wached two more cats appear ontop another hill and start to head down to join the others.

Larch Branch beamed as Otter Ripple spoke to him. Indeed, he wold never forget this. Picking up the larger rabbit, the golden-brown tom bounded after his "mentor" in order to catch up to the others. He padded up the hill after him, catching scents of more prey and the others. Actually, there seemed to be something else as well. Another cat? Larch Branch paused and set down his prey. Turning his head this way and that, he did detect the scent of another stranger on the breeze. Eyes wide, he spun around to catch a silhouette on one of the hills. "O-Otter Ripple!" He called out, fearful.
Rumbled Rock reached the area where Maple Spots was awaiting with her mouse. He nodded to her. "Good job. You two might as well share it. No use in waiting for the others. We aren't going to catch any fish in that lake. They will all swim to the center. Best try to continue to hunt around her and then find somewhere to rest for the night." Rumbled Rock sniffed the air for a moment before turning back to where they came. He was confused as to why Whispering Night, Storm Cry, and Thyme's Song were on the hill they just were at. Weren't they going to find a place to hide in the forest?
Whispering Night's ears twitched at Storm Cry's closeness and acceptance of his words. Still, worried flowed through the she-cat at the sight of the lake. Thoughts of the badger and more dangers trickled through. She wondered how they were to find this home around here. How would they be able to defend such an area this big? Questions filtered through her head as she turned to look at the older cat in the eyes. "If we are to stay here, it must be somewhere safe. And with more cats. We would not be able to secure this area all by ourselves."
Thyme's Song looked over at the water, eyes bright for a little while before movement in the corner of her eye caused her to turn. She turned her head to spot Otter Ripple and Larch Branch padding towards them with - she gasped happily. Three rabbits! That would certainly be enough for everyone. As she went to call out for them, she noticed that Larch Branch had stopped and was calling out. Looking in the direction he was, Thyme's Song spotted a large, black and grey tom sitting on a hill near them. She gasped at his size, awed.

((Please forgive my absence, the weekends are very busy for me))
Otter Ripple had just reached the tip of the hill just a couple tail lengths ahead of his apprentice. The wind was sctrong and carried all sorts of scents, just as he had caught sight of the rest of their group the wind changed direction and he caught the fresh scent of a stanger cat. Just as he was turning around to look for the stranger the brown tom heard Larch Branches exclamation. Looking to the young tabby he followed his gaze and caught sight of a large black and grey tom on top the hill closer to the forest. Otter Ripples pelt instantly prickled and his fur began to rise defensively. That was the biggest cat he had ever seen, and he had to be bigger in person because they were quite a ways away from him and he still looked huge. Facing the unknown tom head on he made it obvious that he was looking at him. Holding his gaze for a minute he then looked down to Larch Branch. "Come lets keep moving and regroup with the others." Voice muffled from the prey clamped in his jaws but still audible he pressed on trying his best to appear confident as he turned his back to the stranger and headed straight for Whispering Night and the others.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Nodding Maple Spots sniffed around and found a comfortable spot with Arctic Breeze and the two quickly settled and began to share the recently caught mouse.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Hearing the black shecats words Storm Cry nodded in agreement. "You are right. Right now though we should just focus on finding the perfect place for us to make a permanent camp. From there we can claim a smaller portion of territory for ourselves. As our numbers grow we can continue to expand out territory." The tom loved the idea of finding a place to settle around the lake. "I have an idea, why dont we find a secure place for the group to settle for a few days and send three of us around the lake to explore and search for the perfect place for us to settle. What do you think?" He questioned.
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Crow had soon noticed that the cats he was watching began to catch sight of him. Holding his ground he watched as the closest pair cats turned to look at him, the older of the two facing him squarely. The large smokey black tom had no intentions of backing down, for this was his own territory. However Crow was not looking to fight he was just curious about the group. When the tom who had faced him finally turned back around to carry on back towards his group Crow decided to continue to watch the cats in a less obvious way as to not arouse agression. Turning around he padded back down the hill and out of sight to wait till dark to get closer to the group. Where had they come from? He continued to question himself about them as he casually walked through the moorlands.

Larch Branch held his prey firmly in his jaws as he bounded after Otter Ripple. The tom was uneasy seeing another cat here. Of course, they had come across others on their journey. Some friendly and some not so much. However, this place might be the home they were looking for. How can we claim this area as our own if it belongs to someone else? he thought a little sad. This felt like a great place to live. It's no wonder other cats lived around here. He just hope they had a place as well as he waved his tail in greeting to the three other cats.
Rumbled Rock padded off a little ways away to a rocky outcrop with a heather bush sheltering one side. Squeezing in between, the tom settled down in between the tom, grateful for the shelter form the wind. He was no a fan of the moors. It was often too cold for him or too open. He preferred the forest with the cover of bracken and ferns. Shivering at a stray breeze, Rumbled Rock moved around to try and make a suitable nest for himself for the night or at least until the others got back with fresh-kill.
Thyme's Song bounded forward in awe of the rabbits. "Wow! They look great!" She purred at Otter Ripple and Larch Branch. "Great catch!" She said and nodded to down the hill. "Maple Spots, Arctic Breeze, and Rumbled Rock went down that way to that dip. We can join them all down there!" She turned and nodded to Storm Cry and Whispering Night before making her way down.
Whispering Night sighed heavily. She knew that everyone was weary and tired of traveling. If this place truly is where we belong, we need to claim it as our own soon, she thought. With a nod, the black she-cat agreed with Storm Cry. "Alright. We can rest here for a bit. But We should go out and explore some more tomorrow. Make our way down to the lake to try and figure out the best place to start looking." Her ears twitched as Otter Ripple and Larch Branch returned carrying 3 rabbits. Mouth watering, she nodded in praise to them. "Well done! We shall all eat well tonight."
(I'll try to create more new characters today. Probably the tom barn cat and to she-cats. Btw, have any pairings you might want to do yet?)
