I don't know if this qualifies as a spoiler.
I asked Kate who names a black-pelted kitten Flamekit and if he was supposed to be black-and-orange.
Kate: I think he’s named in memory of his ancestor. But I agree, it’s a shame he’s not orange!

I saw. Kind of dumb on the editors part, but whatever.

Just make him have fiery amber/orange eyes and let his warrior name be Flame-eyes

A white kit named Ravenkit. A brown kit named Bluekit. A orange kit named Icekit. I could keep going and make up unmatching color names.
But when I read the allegiances, I did a double take.

The editors really just choose ALL the names now. The erins have no control over their characters. this editor team pisses me off. original creators/writers should have complete control of their stories and characters. editors should have NO SAY over plot or character decisions. it's RIDICULOUS.

For one thing, it was unnecessary for the editors not to let Kate give Sparkpaw her warrior name.
For another, the editors made no effort to name any of the kits from the new generation. "Spot-", "Fly-", "Bristle-", "Thrift-", "Flip-"? I could go on. And I'm not even trying to be a "traditionalist namer" here.

I am happy to see new prefixes in the series (I personally like “Fly-“), but I wish the editors didn’t have full control.

They're not even good editors. It's stupid someone as incompetent as them gets to decide everything. - They can't keep up with the plot - They can't keep up with the names of their characters - They can't catch basic spelling and grammar mistakes - They make nonsensical choices for both the plot, and character names The list goes on. Seriously, who is hiring these people? A ten year old could do a better job than these people and there's supposedly like 20 of them

Vicky did a good job because it was her.

And I'm not even trying to be a "traditionalist namer" here. a lot of these prefixes all sound really stilted and awkward. i'd say "flip" and "snap" are especially bad. there are so many beautiful prefixes only used a couple times in the series that, for some reason, the editors never want to use again i'm still mad we haven't seen a single warrior with the "bat" prefix
