Murkywater relaxed again, his whiskers twitching in amusement at her reaction to the rest of the clan. "You won't even need to stay in the nursery the whole time, really." He commented, looking far duller and disinterested in the topic compared to everyone else, despite his actual interest. "After the kits are nursed, they can be looked after by the whole clan." He reasoned. Hornetstrike met the leader's gaze when she looked at her, and she shook her head to confirm her lack of an argument. She was right. Littlethorn shrunk slightly under Leopardstar's gaze, but he nodded in agreement to her point. It would all work just fine. Leopardstar looked at Murkywater, finding a flake of comfort in the assuring calmness of his voice. He was always grounding and assured, relaxed and thoughtful. Rather than doubt, he seemed to look at the future, at how the clan could care for the kits she decided she would try to have. She looked at him, and reminded herself that he was the one she had known the closest since the death of Poppyleaf. And while Eaglefall was a powerful warrior, she felt herself trusting Murkywater more with the responsibility of providing her kits. She nodded once, and called to her clan. "Then it is settled. Hopefully we will be successful. For now, we will seek out recruitments, but more kits in the clan is the top goal. Duties will be continued, meeting dismissed." She turned back to Murkywater and motioned with her tail for him to come to her, so she could speak with him. She hoped he would accept her offer, and a tiny part of her felt herself warm with liking at the idea of being close to him, even if he surely couldn't feel the same, right? Tigershade nodded dumbly, but quickly nudged Littlethorn and Tinyflame along as he mewed. "Well. Alrighty then! We should go see if Nectarleaf needs us on a hunt or patrol. And speaking of more closeness in the clan, I'm more than happy to spend time with you lovely she-cats." The young warrior teased, flicking his tail.

Dogstep dipped his head to Leopardstar. "Of course none of us have any issue with you having kits," he meowed calmly. "Like Tigershade said, it's just a little surprising that you would suggest it, as you have never shown much interest in having kits of your own. However, your offer is very respectable, and I don't think any of us would argue against it." He blinked at his leader. "If you are going to have kits for the Clan, then I'm sure the whole Clan will do everything to protect those kits and make sure they grow up to be fine warriors."
Tinyflame nodded at her brother's words, glancing at Tigershade. She rolled her eyes a little at what he said, shoving him playfully. "Come on, let's go see what patrols Nectarleaf needs us to join."
Eaglefall watched his Clanmates calmly. He still couldn't quite wrap his mind around the idea of Leopardstar having kits, but he had to admit it was a good idea. Especially if she chose a strong mate who would in turn be the father of strong kits. He puffed out his chest a little.
(Oooooooh what if there's like, drama between Eaglefall and Murkywater. Like, what if they both want to be the father of Leopardstar's kits and she has to pick one?)

(I know Murkywater has a crush on Leopardstar, and I'm thinking Eaglefall will have a crush on her too. Maybe Leopardstar has to make the decision between the two and has to decide what's more important to her, her relationship with Murkywater or the certainty that Eaglefall will produce strong kits. Of course, I'm not saying that Murkywater wouldn't produce strong kits, but maybe something from the past or whatever will make Leopardstar really need to consider whether Murkywater would be the best choice in father for her kits. Then there could be some kind of consequence regardless of which one she picks - like if she picks Eaglefall, she'll regret damaging her relationship with Murkywater, and if she picks Murkywater, maybe one of the kits gets sick or something. Idk, just an idea I had to add more drama. Please feel free to shot all/part of it down lol)

I know the end result will be LeopardMurky but the drama of having to decide for the sake of strong kits would be fun! Up to Video on what we wanna do! Leopard would like Murky for his calmness and assurance, but would also like Eagle for his strength and bravery.)

(Hey, I'm always down for drama. Murky is also like, really passive about his emotions, so he could just add to the confusion by actually suggesting Eaglefall because he doesn't know Leopard likes him back, so he would offer alternatives for her. Thus confusing Leopard as to his feelings as well. If that makes sense xD
In terms of Murky's genetics drawbacks, he probably has kittypet ancestry and is prone to diabetes maybe? I feel like he's a chunky guy even though he's a feral cat, so he could have dealt with those issues before)

(Oooooh yes I love it. And then maybe she realizes that Eaglefall wasn't the best choice in father, either because he becomes too clingy in a way of doing better than his father did with him and Nectarleaf, or he distances himself because he fears being a bad father, or he just wants to be the "fun" parent and leaves all the discipline-type stuff to Leopardstar. Honestly there are so many different paths that could take, because Eaglefall and Nectarleaf didn't have the best relationship with their father, so in some way or another it would definitely impact the way Eaglefall behaves as a father.
And also, just to be clear, I'm totally not trying to ruin the Leopard/Murky ship going on here - I think it'll be a really cute ship, but I just thought I'd add a bump in the road for them, if you're both open to it.)

Of course she would want his opinion - they were close friends after all. For a moment, he considered starting with his own offer anyway. If she was opposed, she would say no. Right? Or would she say yes only out of obligation to her clan? The thought made his fur prickle slightly - it would be wrong to take advantage of his dear friend and leader when she only wanted to protect her clan in the best way she knew how to. "Well, the clan does need strong warriors for the future. It would make sense for the father to be a strong warrior, like Eaglefall." He meowed, regretting his words the moment he suggested them. He couldn't go without a little bit of a shot, now that he gave an alternative. "I wouldn't mind either, but only if you wanted that. I'm not exactly a vision of good health."

And while he had offered himself too, to her relief, it was clear he was outlining his past health obstacles. Would their kits have the same issues, if they were of his blood? She found herself desperately not wanting to care about that, but how could she not, when Moonclan needed as many healthy kits as possible? It was more stinging to feel that Murkywater was not seeming as hopeful about it as she wanted. She scolded herself, feeling selfish but still heavy. She supposed it was only efficient, to have Eaglefall father the kits, a powerful warrior. Surely he would make a good father...surely. She swallowed, her voice coming out controlled and even as she mewed. "Thank you, for your thoughts...perhaps you are right. Eaglefall is a pinnacle of strength in our clan...I shall speak to him." She moved her eyes and nodded. "You may return to your duties..."

He dipped his head, reminding himself he should be happy for her and her decisions regardless of his own gain. He stood up, almost heavier than normal, and touched his nose to her shoulder, wishing he hadn't put himself in such a bad light. But it was the right thing to do, wasn't it? "Yes, Leopardstar. I hope for the best." He meowed, trying to offer his best support despite his deep disappointment. The dusky brown warrior left the leader's den, gazing numbly around. He felt his fur bristle as he saw Eaglefall, stationed in camp. It was the right thing to do - he was everything Murkywater wasn't. That thought only made him feel more jealous, though. He padded to sit down close to the camp entrance, wanting to try and sleep off the feeling wrenching in his heart, but keeping himself awake to watch after the clan, like Leopardstar would expect of him.

He padded to sit down close to the camp entrance, wanting to try and sleep off the feeling wrenching in his heart, but keeping himself awake to watch after the clan, like Leopardstar would expect of him. Leopardstar wished she could lean into the touch of his muzzle, but her fighter instincts kept her back, kept her steeled and responsible. She nodded once and mewed. "I am happy to hear that." Even if she was anything but. She waited until he padded away, before she released a shaky sigh, forcing the lump in her throat away. She had never been so weak or emotional before, and it made her coil with nerves. She shook her head and lifted her muzzle. She had a duty to fulfill. Padding a few steps out, she called to Eaglefall, motioning for him to come to her to speak.

Murkywater felt his shoulders grow heavy at Leopardstar's conclusion, seemingly confirming his worries. Tinyflame nodded, waving her tail to signal for Tigershade to lead the way. "After you," she meowed, dipping her head to the senior warrior. Tigershade nodded, moving to lead the way out of camp and towards the bubbling waters of the clan's many river systems. The tom glanced back at his clanmate and admitted. "I'm really surprised, that my sister made such a bold offer. Er, I never thought she'd want to carry kits." Tinyflame nodded in agreement. "I'm surprised, too. She never seemed like the motherly type..." She paused for a moment. "Of course, I don't mean that she wouldn't be a good mother.. I'm sure she'll make a brilliant mother. But..." She sighed. "I just never imagined she would be interested in having kits."

Leopardstar spoke with her usual strength, though her eyes seemed to flicker with deep thought. She quickly mewed. “If Moonclan is to have strong kits, It only seems best to have a strong father to them. I understand if you would not accept the offer of fathering my kits, but I would find it best if you were.” She didn’t beat around the bush.

Kits just happen to be a part of that.” Tigershade mewed quietly, before he shook his head and sighed. “I suppose it’s good, I’ll be an uncle. I do like kits.” He admitted.

Eaglefall's eyes widened and his breath caught in his throat. "I- uh..." He hesitated, staring at his leader with wide, shocked eyes. "I... I would be honored," he meowed. He cleared his throat before continuing. "I would be honored to be the father of your kits."
Tinyflame nodded. "It'll be good to have kits in the camp again," she meowed. "It's been too long since we've had many young cats in the Clan. The Clan will do better, knowing it has kits to protect and knowing there's another generation of cats that will keep the Clan alive after the older cats go to StarClan." She paused for a moment. "I like kits too," she meowed in a softer voice. "I hope to have kits of my own one day, once I find the right mate."

She held no awkwardness or hesitance in her voice, knowing what she wanted for her clan, even if a part of her yearned for Murkywater to be taking the role right now. She pushed it away, and instead looked at the tom. “Then you can join me in my den at nightfall.” She offered a look of acceptance. Tigershade looked at Tinyflame for a moment, before he gave a chuckle and assured. “You’ll find someone. And hopefully I will to. Who knows, maybe we’ll find eachother.” He flirted smoothly.
