So I'm wanting to make a Clan (or a few) on my own. Probably a remake of something, but I'm also slowly thinking of a new idea. I have the options below, but first, I was wanting to see about making the Clan a cross between original characters and claim-a-cat. I know there are variations all around but I want to at least have relations of all kinds set up to avoid everyone being alone forever. In Clans with original characters, it feels as if you have to step up and ask, maybe doing it the majority of the time. Need to work out the kinks with it.
As far as the actual ideas, I'll throw the remake ideas in. I won't do a poll, as I want actual comments from people and the option to add more ideas. In the end, I'm looking to decide on one final idea and work out some issues or fill in some gaps that I left regarding lore, territory, and so on.
1.) HollyClan was a Clan based in the forest with a river. The plot idea at the time was for a massive flood to destroy the territory and have a war go on with an NPC Tribe with some characters up for grabs. What I may do is either set up the role-play similar to another role-play where both are joinable and on the same page. I may also have them on different pages as well. Only conflict with thia is that I would have to build the tribe from the ground up and I want an idea posted by April 1st. On HollyClan, there need to be some changes.
2.) MapleClan was a Clan that had three border Clans around it. It was a forest Clan and just rather typical. While I tried to dodge and avoid it, it feels like a knock-off ThunderClan. I think some new traditions would work out. Of course, this idea was meant to be very basic and mimic how "simple" the OG Clans were.
3.) Stone Valley was a claim-a-cat role-play with two Clans being accessible and joinable. They seem dull and had arranged mates. Looking back, that is the first thing that needs to be addressed, as it isn't a monarch or anything. This would need a lot of work and while I wouldn't mind doing it when I have more time, I want to complete a remake in a week and this won't allow that unless I cut some stufd out.
4.) With Warriors releasing an arc soon, I thought maybe a nice and simple Clan from the lake or the forest would suffice. The others would be NPC save for the high ranks and some characters would be featured in the allegiances similar to the books. However, the role-play would focus on one Clan. My top picks for the forest territories would be RiverClan, SkyClan, or ThunderClan. I'm iffy on the lake, as if you read AVOS, you could understand my hesitance to pick one. (Hint: Aggravation Central)

I think idea four is really nice. c: It seems simple, which makes it easier for everyone to jump in, I think. As for the clan I love the idea of SkyClan!

Idea 4 is probably the best one in my opinion, and I actually had an idea for a way you could potentially solve the "forever alone" problem with original characters. You could have predetermined family trees with open slots and a couple of already dead characters to add a bit of realism, and people could make their characters so they fit into the family trees. For example, if you had two deceased parents, and four open slots for young warrior-aged cats (14-19 moons) who would be their offspring, people could apply for those slots so familial relations can be established without really having to ask. That way, depending on how their original character looks, etc. their roleplayers would be able to select a family tree that their character could realistically be from.
eg. I make a tortoiseshell and white she-cat with green eyes. There are two remaining of three open offspring slots for apprentice aged cats in a family tree where the parents of the offspring are a brown and white tabby tom and a tortoiseshell she-cat who are both alive. There are other families full of mostly grey/grey tabbies/etc, but as this specific line is where my character fits the most, I will apply for a spot in this family tree. My character then has a littermate already created by another roleplayer, and parents roleplayed by different people in the Clan.
Or, if you wanted to roleplay a character with ties to specific characters, you could tailor your character to fit the other cats in the lineage. For example, I want to roleplay a cat who is the son of a character called Heronwing. Heronwing has a mate who is about to give birth to 2 kits, but his roleplayer has chosen to take on one of the kits as their own character. The roleplayer of the mother does not want to roleplay the other kit. Heronwing is a blue-grey tom and his mate is a black and white she-cat. I would fill out a form to roleplay the other kit, and make sure the kit looks like the rest of the family. The other kit is solid black, so I might make a grey and white kit, or a blue-grey kit, for example.
Just an idea! I'm looking forward to when you post the official thread for your Clan! ^^

I also really like Idea 4! I think SkyClan or RiverClan in the forest territories would be a lot of fun.

I am also dittoing the idea of four and Skyclan stands out the most to me. However, my second choice is Riverclan!

If you want someone to bounce ideas off of I’d be more than happy to help. :3 I’m not the most experienced in making clans, but I like coming up with ideas.

Thank you, Cactus, I really appreciate that!
Obviously, the original four with SkyClan or RiverClan is taking the lead. This will be interesting to spice up a little bit without going too far off the tracks regarding the original content. I'm in a server that has a little bot that you can put in a code with some options and it'll pick it. I think I'll do that to decide between the two. If anyone were to pick an idea that wasn't the original four, what would it be?

If you need some extra hands with ideas, I am willing to help out with that as well.
For me, Mapleclan caught my interest as another possible choice. I feel that it would be best as a singular clan if you were debating on whether or not there should be border clans. It would give you more time to do what you desire without having to worry about creating three other clans or finding three clans similarly to how four is structured. I also feel it would give you a bit more freedom as well. It could provide a fun little project that can still maintain a simple structure at its core like the original but allow you to be able to restructure traditions and other ideas to make it less like a Thunderclan knock-off.

Oh, HollyClan and MapleClan both have bordering Clans, they're just NPC-like. I would post the links, as they were former role-plays that died out but I'm a little lazy at the moment. xD

So a little break from working on this to go on a little vacation. Though I'm planning to have something out by April 1st if I'm lucky.
