We are L e g i o n.Wardens of Aerrathae.809 PT, Virghar. A hazy cloud of smoke covers the land. Eternal night holds the Forgotten Lands in its clutch. Magic no longer touches us. Not even the Wardens come here anymore. The hoards grow by the day, the towering skyscrapers no longer give out any light. May the Gods have mercy on the lost. Legion will be no more.
810 PT, Virghar. The barrier gave way. The hoards flooded the cities, maiming and killing all in their path. I stood by and watched as the magic was drained from their veins. Revelation has come. Fires burn bright, the light hurts but it is ours! It is ours!!
812 PT, Virghar. The Wardens fall one by one. Soon there will be none left.
814 PT, Virghar. Malo mori quam foeda-

AerrathaeAerrathae. [e·ra·tai]. n. "The Land of Light".A land mass with no end. Voyagers leave to map out the extents of Aerrathae on cars, motorcycles, and planes. None ever return. Large masses of water dot the land, seas, lakes, rivers, ponds. None are large enough to split apart the land. It's said all under the Yushen are connected. But one thing is for sure. No one heads West. Out West, miles off of the nearest city lies a wall of fog. Past the fog, utter darkness into smog filled air. Creatures prowl the darkness, carnivores. Man eaters.
Cities Sprawling chains of buildings with towering skyscrapers piercing into the skies are a trademark of Aerrathae and their advanced civilization. The cities are elevated with multiple levels drifting up into the skies. The different levels represent different social classes. The lowest being low income households and the top being high income households. Around the buildings and the elevated cities, there are large freeway tracks that spiral the cities. All cities are divided into districts. All districts are guarded by a specific Warden.
Cities each have a patron deity they offer sacrifices to in thanks for their protection. Cities are surrounded by industrial sites but all function off of magic. It sparks through the air, it is a living being in and of itself.
In Aerrathae the lights never go out.
Transportation All vehicles in Aerrathae function through magic. It's small, barely noticeable. Individuals take hold of the wheel or the handles and the vehicle comes to life. They hover through the air and they ascend through the cities easily. Individuals generally own hoverbikes and flying cars, some though have multi-purposed cars that swap between being a land vehicle and a plane. The wealthy sometimes also have a boat function installed into their vehicles but it's rare for the people of Aerrathae to go to large bodies of waters unless in land simulators.
Public transit is active 24/7. In order to go on public transit, one needs a verified Identification Card that pays the necessary credits. Poorer families opt to go on the lifts in the cities more often than not though since those are free and around the bend in nearly ever neighborhood. The lifts are large open platforms that form a protective barrier around those on board. They then ascend through the levels of the cities to the destination, moving so fast that it hardly takes any time at all to get from one level to the next. Lift failure is unheard of since lifts are fed magic by the Yushen Disciples.
Culture Aerrathaens are heavily religious. They believe that everything is due to the Yushen's blessings. They do not really have large daily or even weekly ceremonies. Their ceremonies are quarterly. Oftentimes, it depends on which god worship but sacrifices are still the common. Nowadays, however, instead of humans animals are a good offering. Craftsmanship, devotion, and love are also good offerings to the Yushen. However, since the Yushen knows all the people of Aerrathae know better than to lie. Lest the gods strike them down where they stand.
As a result, Aerrathaens are very honorable people. Or at least they know better than to lie upon the name of a god or promise sweet nothings to their own patron god. When faced with others, however, that integrity and honesty fluctuates from individual. They are also very hardworking, understanding that their labor is a labor of love.
Life in Aerrathae is very luxurious. Even the lower class aren't poor. They are afforded health care, public schooling, public transit, accessible housing, and jobs that can sustain their cheaper life styles without sacrificing familial time. That's not to say the streets are without crime. As with everything, crime seems inevitable. That's where Legion steps in. They patrol and keep the districts in check so criminals have Legion to answer to.
Aerrathaens appreciate the fine arts. They are lovers of song and dance and art. Their gods love art almost as much as they do their peoples' love. Temples, paintings, and anything made dedicated to the Yushen are generally well received. They are forward thinkers, futurists. They are progressive and always look to improve on anything. Aerrathaens do not simply revel in being mediocre. They want to make life easier for everyone as a whole, to improve the state of living until there is no more inconveniences. With magic and advanced technology at their finger tips, they near that goal with every passing day.

LegionLegion. [le·gion]. n. "Chosen Warriors of Yushen".A vast host, multitude, or number of people or things. Synonymous with power, reputation, and control. Legion is composed of Yushen's chosen - oftentimes referred to as Wardens. Wardens are gifted by the Yushen with magic far stronger than any normal mortal. They control the powers of their God, making miracles out of nothing. Whispers say they are immortal. Nothing can kill a Warden save for another Warden or a God themself.
Wardens Wardens are far more powerful than man. They lay in the thin divide between god and mortal. Once human, now demigods. They are the only other beings outside of the Yushen that can wield magic at a devastating level of competency. They are far more sturdy than any man, they are immortal save for a killing blow at the hands of a another warden or a god. They have superior strength, stamina, speed, and do not seem to age past the year they were chosen by the Yushen. They have accelerated healing. No mortal weapon can wound them. They have extraordinary memories and the ability to speak all tongues. They can reproduce, but their children are not divine. They are mortals and will age and die.

All of the wardens also wield a unique divine weapon that only they can wield, blessed by the Yushen. These weapons can be summoned and dismissed at will.
Wardens are protectors of Aerrathae and each district is ran by a respective warden. In each district is a temple of divinity, used to offer sacrifices to the Yushen. The districts are kept in motion by the devout, individuals called Children of Yushen. The CoY powers the city. VirgharVirghar. [vir·ghar]. n. "The Forgotten Lands".No one knows what's out West. Everything West of Aerrathae is marked by Virghar. Darkness blankets the lands, barren and void of life save for the Forgotten. Children of Virghar. Magic does not touch them. They are pestilence incarnate. Their touch stifles life. No one who enters Virghar ever returns. Whatever lays in wait behind the fog lies outside of the Yushen's boundaries. Their Gods are not ours.
Post Tenebras All years following the darkness settling over West Aerrathae, now known as Virghar, is dubbed PT or Post Tenebras. Books dictate a time when the Yushen controlled all. Then when one of their own vied for too much power they were cast out. Their hate left a mark on the lands, rotting the very core of the land and killing its magic. Those who still remember call them Ghar.
History The Yushen was once a pantheon of thirteen. Aerrathae came to be from their collected powers, blooming to life with magic. The inhabitants knew not of limited resources. But war raged the lands all the same. Blood watered plants, cities left empty of inhabitants as the clash of blades rang closer and closer to home. Villages burnt to the ground. Then, the Yushen appointed the Wardens.
In order to cease the senseless violence, the Wardens became the judge, jury, and executioners. They are powerful. They are divine. They are devout. Their being ended battles, allowed cities to rise from the grounds and for life to prosper. Crime was inevitable, but for everything there was a price.
Life was peaceful.
Life was quiet. And then Ghar turned their back on all their zealots. They casted misery upon the lands, seeking the blood. The violence. So the Yugen had no choice. Ghar was exiled, no longer welcomed among the pantheon and Ghar's isolation blanketed the West in darkness marking the start of PT.
Centuries passed by, slowly and Ghar's zealots and the monstrous creatures that roamed Virghar broke through the Yugen's barrier protecting Aerrathae. Violence wracked the cities. Magic sapped from civilians who laid broken in the streets, wardens meeting their demise in combat. The battle raged for six long years. The damage it caused left a mark on Aerrathae. Ever since the Virghar Invasion, the barrier has been restored but the magic posses a dark mark. Something in it is out of tune.
Rumor has it, sometimes - for a brief second - the magic vanishes.
The year is 837 PT. There are whispers of Ghar's return.

basic rules atm - max 2 wardens per person
NO WEAPON DUPLICATES max 3 types of sword [1/3 open] max 2 polearms [1/2 open] max 2 bow and arrows/crossbow [2/2 open] <- yes I'm putting them in the same category max 2 knives [2/2 open] run other weapons by me, chances r I'll say yes unless it's identical to another warden's weapon Claimed Weapons
cut & thrust sword glaive hook swords gauntlets kusarigama chakram forging hammer yes u may post comments here. yes u may ask to claim wardens, but this is an advanced rp. plz do not claim if you cannot write lengthy multiparagraph replies. if you struggle writing 500+ words per a reply consistently, this is not the rp for you. this is an original universe with in-depth world building and a plot that demands that all the wardens are actively involved. do not join if you cannot read 500+ word responses because your attention span is short. we are building off one another's replies here and it WILL SHOW if you didn't read the previous person's response. tyvm
this is not first come first serve. this is a small group rp if you did not manage to claim a warden, you can still talk to me about making an oc for the rp. there will be disciples in play. if a warden dies during rp, I can also pm you about the opening. there's also a very particular late game role open atm if and only if you are a reliable rper.
rules are subject to change but this is just for the wip
