Due to a minor resurgence of nostalgia for the series, I've decided to revamp perhaps my oldest OC of all time for the 500th time. I might add some more if people have an interest, but for now I'll just do Rainstar.
Just a note for the Mods: I'm not sure if this is the right category for this thread, so if it needs to be moved I'm really sorry for the inconvenience!
Anyway, some context for Rainstar:
While I can't remember when I made her, I do know why! At least around 1st-3rd grade (1st grade being my introduction to the series), I got interested in the Warriors DnD style game that was placed at the end of some books and online. Of course, me being a youngster, I decided to get my name from the Official Site at the time; Rainpelt. That character didn't go anywhere for some time, as instead I switched to a very noobie design for a cat named Thundercracker. However, the wheels began to turn for me, and thus Rainpelt began to evolve in my daydreams. Around this time I got into the Warriors mangas, so I abandoned her OG design in favor for a Ravenpaw copypaste (this was later implemented as Rainpelt putting on another cat's skin in BloodClan before her complete overhaul. Ironically I did not find that disturbing at all...). She was your typical Mary-Sue. A halfblood cat who ran away from her Clan after her mentor was killed by Rusty (fuel for a grudge, I guess?) and somehow ended up in BloodClan, before catching up with the clans at the lake and starting her own. Of course, in the 8 years since then she has received a complete revamp several times. So instead of letting her rot in the back of my mind, I'd like to share her current 'form' since I have so much appreciation for what was perhaps the first OC I've ever created.
Rainstar
Clan: AdderClan
Age: 95 Moons (Actual Age IRL) 72 Moons (In Canon)
Warrior Name: Rainpelt
Lives Left: 7
Physical Description: A large black and white broken mackerel tabby she-cat with piercing blue eyes and a plethora of scars. A bony body with mangy fur decorates her frame, and her ears are torn from years of Clan feuds.
History: Born to cats of differing Clans, Rainkit was fortunately spared the shame of being thought of one for her early life due to her mother's clever use of another tom as cover. However, when a wave of severe greencough swept through the Clan and took her siblings with it, Rainkit's mother decided to leave for RiverClan in fear of losing her last kit. The family was not welcomed warmly, but was allowed to stay. Here Rainkit grew up, always in the shadow of her heritage and always the butt of several jokes among apprentices. Due to this constant teasing, Rainpaw trained harder than most in an attempt to prove herself (or get revenge, depends on who you ask). Despite her hard work, Rainpelt never felt any love or loyalty to her clan. This apathy soon boiled into disgust when a young apprentice who had been mangled in battle received the name Tornclaw, rather than using his original prefix. Surprisingly sympathetic to the tom's conundrum, Rainpelt often initiated conversations or hunting parties with him. As both were seen as outcasts in the Clan, the two bonded significantly over this fact and eventually became mates. Sometime later, ShadowClan and RiverClan merged, being led by Tigerstar. During the purge of halfclan cats, Rainpelt's mother, Spottedflower was killed by Jaggedtooth, and to save herself denies relation to her. She is disowned by her father afterwards, but no cat dares to rat her out after Stonefur's murder. During the twoleg invasion, Rainpelt's father is killed. Shortly before the Clans leave for the lake, Rainpelt gives birth to Sunkit, the pair's only child. While traveling through the mountains, Tornclaw is wounded by an eagle, and dies of infection before reaching the Tribe. Even more jaded by this turn of events, Rainpelt considers abandoning the Clan before a siamese appears in her dreams. She is instructed by the tom to revive his Clan after finding the lake, and having had enough of the four Clans, Rainstar agrees. She builds her clan to the far east of the moonpool, on a cliff overlooking the sea. She receives her lives, and continues to lead to this day. She has unfortunately become quite senile and unpredictable due to her age and experiences, and this has only worsened after the death of her daughter and former deputy in a badger attack. However, she has an iron loyalty to the one Clan that has truly felt like a family to her.
