Introduction Hello, young one. You don't know me, nor will you remember me, but I am the Priestess. As I do for all new souls, I will welcome you to life. Walk you out of the darkness of the womb and out into what lies beyond. Life in a world where anthros reign supreme, and learn to coexist in various... forms. Kingdoms, tribes and more find their way and place in the world among each other. Kings and queens rule their kingdoms, merchants sell their wares, mancers practice their magic, and let us not get started on the world's guardians. The Mythicals. Possibilities are endless, and hopefully you will choose your life well. Go forth and discover your path, and may it be a good one, for times grow dark. Learn what you feel is right, and do what you think should be done. Good luck, my little beauty, as we likely will not meet again until you rejoin me up in the stars.

Groups Dharain: One of the two main kingdoms of this story. Currently led by Queen Mara, the settlement is full of diversity in both species and personality. It is set on relatively flat ground, save for the occasional elevation of hills and forests. The apparent story behind the kingdom is that a tribe of mice set foot on it first, migrating to the open space to avoid being preyed on by bandits and a wolf pack that stalked them. The leader of the tribe, Dharain, led his group to settle down and use the open territory to their advantage. They made a home, and other species had heard of this and migrated toward it to escape the eye of "superior" animals. Dens became homes, and homes became Dharain. And soon, a place for prey animals became a place for those who could coexist in peace, predators and prey alike. > King: (Mara will choose)> Queen: Mara Lang> Advisers: Daisy Shallowmint,> General: > Commander: > Captain of the Guard: > Members of the Royal Guard: > Soldiers: > Citizens: Galeru "Gale", Gordon Meret, Jhotinai: Known formerly by many as the Mountain Men, these people inhabit a kingdom founded on less merciful grounds than Dharain. While the small mouse led his group fair, one of his advisers insisted he be more firm. The bear, Ursae, believed that everyone should be of some use. Sickly babies should be killed, and the weak kicked out. Weakness cured out of the group. Dharain refused, and Ursae was furious. Instead of claiming the spot of leader, he left with his followers. He did not wish to inherit a kingdom of weaklings. Traveling far, they reached the mountains, where they settled. Anyone who showed weakness was punished, and a settlement was quickly constructed. Many had then came to know of these Mountain Men, and traveled there to prove their worth. And, King Ursae found the most delightful of ways to keep his kingdom ideal. The most "famous" way is the Growth Ceremony. When a child reaches the age of 16, he personally shadowed them for however long he saw fit. If he believed they were worthy, they were left alone. If he believed they are of no use... then they were thrown over the Bloody Cliff. Over the edge of the cliff is the Glutton, Kalonymos, who happens to be a Leviathan. Those who are thrown over are usually eaten, but he may keep the occasional servant. This cruel way of life has kept Jhotinai one of the strongest of kingdoms though, and likely the most feared. > King: Nanuk Sangilak> Queen: (Nanuk will choose)> Advisers: Jerra Barrett,> Executioner: Kenku Dukai> Captain of the Guard: > Members of the Royal Guard: Hornet,> General: Sabre Whitetree> Commander: Tishka Morozov> Soldiers: > Citizens: Luna Rhayne, Essence of Reality: Many like to think that time and space move on their own after the Priestess set them in motion. That time is a… thing, and that planets always manage not to hit each other. This is not true. Both fields are kept in check by one entity. The Keeper. This individual keeps time running smoothly, for if he doesn't and time slows down even one bit as a whole, then… well, let us not get into that. And he is also in charge of maintaining gates between worlds, keeping others from crossing over in threatening manners. Keeping planets safe from harm. No one has ever seen this individual themselves, but the very few pictures painted of him depict him as a lion, for the minority who believe in such foolish tales. >The Keeper: Ashadakar>Apprentice: Akriel The Primordial Order: The Primordial Order is one of the many houses that reigned supreme in a time before kingdoms, when families and groups were in charge of the world. The Primordial Order aren't gods or anything. Aren't even immortal, as most of the original family and members are dead. They just liked the name really. However, their Head of House, Kaisilium, helped them reach the top of the food chain. Everyone was encouraged to learn something that would make the family shine further, but no one was ever shunned if they didn't. The group slowly faded into the shadows though, when Kaisilium was locked away by the Keeper. The only two original members are his younger brothers, Tui and La. Any newer members are their most recent descendants, or those who managed to marry into the group, the two brothers trying their best to do what they think their brother would have wanted, encouraging them to seek schooling for any prowess they may have. The group is really just that of wealthy scholars and powered anthros, but they can definitely cause you trouble if you attack them. (Do not make members for this without asking or I will deny them :3)> Head of House: Kaisilium> Lady of the House: (ask me about this) > Lords of the House: Tui, La> Family Members: > Married In Members: (ask about this) No Affiliation: Anthros who are not with any of the main groups in this roleplay. They are loners, travelers, adventurers, etc. > List: Erebus "Eri", Bukrath "Wrath" TaradetSon,
Mythicals People do not believe in the Keeper, but they do believe in these powerful souls. Just as regular animals have anthros, so do mythical ones. There is only one of each type alive at a time. Only one kracken, dragon, unicorn, etc. These beings have power a regular anthro could only dream of. They are stronger, faster and usually bigger by default. Immortal to old age and illness. To fight one alone is usually suicide, though you shouldn't ever have to worry about that. Mythicals are above fighting, and do not pick sides. If they did, more destruction than needed would be caused. To satisfy their urges to fight, they playfully spar with each other. And though all are seen as great entities, it is clear who is out on top. Hei Lung. Dragons, non-anthropomorphic ones, were famous for bringing elements into the world, others learning from them. Sadly, they were all hunted and driven into extinction. So, Hei Lung is basically seen as a god among anthros, and a respected comrade among most other Mythicals. Anyway, if you get the privilege of seeing one, it is an unspoken rule to show the utmost respect. (New members are not allowed to make a Mythical. If you stick around consistently though, I will reward you with being able to )> Dragon: Hei Lung> Leviathan: Kalonymos> Yeti: Dorje
Lore History: In a time before time, there was… nothing, basically. Just masses of swirling energy. Pure, beautiful, chaotic energies. They didn't know what to do, what to form. They needed help. And someone did. Most know this entity as the Priestess, who reined in the energies and put them to use. Out of this she made the world. The brightness was compacted into a sphere, its shine lighting up the vast area around it. The Priestess pushed down on this sphere though, and blew on it to cool it down. The burning energy lost most of its glow and scorch, but it became the endoskeleton of what is lived on now. It was nothing impressive, but she had to finish, setting it in motion with a push of her finger. This movement marks the beginning of “time.” And as each second went by, she added to the blank canvas. Rocks, trees, water. Life. The first set of living creatures, aside from plants, were Mythical beasts. Creatures that help make the way for regular animals and anthropomorphs. Dragons are most famous for this, the mighty serpents the first to harness the power and help their maker. And once the way was made, more souls were introduced to the world. To live in and appreciate what was given to them. And though it's a bit hazy on exactly how anthros came to be, came they did. Their intelligence allowed them to rise from dens into beautiful cities and kingdoms.

Current Plots I. Long ago, an anthro named Kaisilium was locked away in another reality of a prison for reasons unknown to everyone but him and his brothers. Tui and La are working to free their brother. They are working, traveling the world when they can to find and capture the newest apprentice of the Keeper. Ashadakar is too much for them to take alone, so they want to snatch the less experienced one. For what, no one is sure but them. Along with this, they are trying to capture other powerful anthros, but not Mythicals. That would be suicide. Anyway, the family is on a mission to gather others with power, and not as familial additions.

Locations (wip and to be added to)DharainCrown's Hand: The capital of Dharain, a half a day's ride west from The Fog. A massive place enclosed by walls, containing a large marketplace, homes and of course the First Fort, the castle constructed by the first king, where the royals continue to live. A grand structure overlooking the busy city below. The Fog: A mountain range within the kingdom of Dharain, but not the mountains containing Jhotinai. These massive rocks stretch up to scrape the clouds, and even go past them. Beyond the clouds is the temple where the mighty Hei Lung dwells. All who go there are welcome to find refuge under his care. The mountain range is large enough to contain a few smaller villages as well though throughout the bodies of rock. No one dares show any violence beyond the fun spar, lest you feel the wrath of who is the next best thing to a god. Water's Edge: There is actually no water here, but instead a small collection of palm trees. The trees always lean toward the west though, no matter what. Some like to say and spread rumor that there is something rather valuable in that direction. What could it be? Someone has yet to find out. The trees themselves though create a little enclosure, with a few bushes that sport berries, an odd pairing with palm trees. Falling Jungle: This vine-heavy area is full of sense jungle, vicious predators and a famous tribe of savage tarantulas called the Green Web. Only they can best navigate the challenging environment, and any unfortunate travellers who end up in the beautiful setting better have something shiny, because they love jewels and precious metals, or else they'll capture you and put you to work! Etchwood Forest: wip Kingdom of Mines: This place is not really a kingdom, but instead a vast spread of holes across one of the mountains at the edge of the Fog. It seems that every cave or hold has something different to harvest, as if blessed by the mighty Hei Lung himself, as it is not something you see everyday where gold and diamonds are found mere yards from each other. Stretching Plains: A popular stop for shepherds, who let their cattle graze and rest among the mass of flat-land and grass. Some occasional hills, and a surprising amount of rabbits and the occasional herd of wild horses. However, there's a higher risk of bandits out there, so people passing through must travel smart, or pay someone to protect them. Black Beach: This beach oddly has no black sand or anything like that. It is instead known for, or rumoured to be, where pirates used to commonly dock and hide their treasures in the small, bordering forest. Most venture here for the sunny skies and fun-time in the clear waters, but some believe that treasure may still lingering somewhere, expertly hidden. Still, none try to go too far out, as it is said that the Kracken and Leviathan are always waiting to eat them up! JhotinaiIron's Stretch: Capital of Jhotinai. Located throughout the second largest mountain in the world. The castle, Ursaean Creed Castle, sits toward the top, keeping everyone below the dangerous glare of the mighty Nanuk of the family Sangilak, direct descendants of Ursae. The sections of buildings and homes are set about the mountain, shops and places of entertainment. Flaming Farms: Jhotinai is too cold to grow most plants. A royal a few generations after Ursae, Queen Majora, caught onto this. She had buildings constructed that could block out any outside temperature, and had what are known as Ever Embers put inside. One large one each building. The Embers are sentient, despite not doing much, and will only work to keep the air warm if they are bonded to a user of fire. And if the user dies, another must be found within six months, lest the Ever Embers shut down. And with warmth now an option in Jhotinai, the variety of plants could be expanded. Even different livestock was brought in. The Bloody Cliff: wip When someone is deemed unworthy by the crown, at age 16 they are taken to a wide area that narrows out into a cliff. They can either jump themselves, or be taken. Either way, the huge jaws of the Leviathan are waiting to snap them up, and anyone who tries to save the unworthy are restrained and sent over too. Tundra Forest: One of the mountains just east of Iron's Stretch is covered in pine trees, and even the ground spreading around it a little. And it is almost always all covered in snow, with suitable animals running about the fluffy terrain. Hunters and some merchants usually go here to collect what They need, and anything they leave is always snatched up by either someone else or a hungry animal. Forbidden Zone: This is one of the other mountains in Jhotinai, but it is an unspoken rule not to go here. It's one of the most beautiful places in Jhotinai, but it is inhabited by what's said to be a tall, monstrous ape, with huge muscles and red eyes. It'll bash your head in and eat your children! That it can push over trees with ease and has a roar can be heard ten miles away! That's what everyone says anyway, as no one has seen anything in over 200 years, with anyone who goes looking never returns. White Lake: The White Lake is a huge, expanse of water that has a frozen top layer. You can skate, sled and the like on it, but most people like to do one thing... fish! Beneath the frozen layer is still masses of water where all kinds of tasty fish dwell, and you'll commonly see some fishermen or families sitting with fishing poles, lines in the water as they hope to catch some tasty koi or goldfish! Narrow Pass: Wip Seal Village: Wip Keeper's Plane(As of now this realm, an entirely separate plane from the mortal world, is only accessible to Ashadakar and Akriel. Do not start off with your character here, and do not make them able to travel here, as only Dakar and Akriel are the only ones who can move themselves and others in and out of this plane.)Ashadakar's House: wip Land of the First Ones: wip Crystal Cave: wip Constant Night: wip Other Locations(Locations not within any of the kingdoms or groups)Kalonymos' Castle: Wip Laerman Forest: Wip Spirit Grove: Wip Bandits Path: wip

(I would say that Jhotinai at the very least has more animals built for cold, because the mountains they inhabit are cold af. Polar bears, seals, wolves, etc. Dharain can have whatever really cause they are more accepting of all species as well as not being overly hot or cole.)

Sabre observed the soldiers as they sparred against each other. He knew quite a few showed great promise while others wouldn't last very long. He flicked his tail wondering how they would actually preform in battle. A part of him longed to lead an army into an opposing force. Last thing he killed were a couple of dangerous criminals.

The soldiers that fought immediately stopped when their king showed up. His gigantic figure was very hard to miss as he stepped out into the area. Huge feet stepped near soundlessly as he walked, looking around at them slowly. Some of them were experienced soldiers, and some of them were new, young men. Some of those young men would not make it. Nanuk could tell. As soon as his attention was off of them, the soldiers went back to training as he approached Sabre.

Sabre perked up when he saw his king approaching. Now there was someone that was a true soldier. "My king." He said bowing his head to him. "What brings you here?" Was he simply out for a walk or was he here to observe the training?

"I wanted to see what the new recruits looked like." He was not impressed. He usually never was, as there were rarely any notable soldiers. Most of them needed weapons to kill after all. As he looked out among the training soldiers, he could easily tell the new ones from the seasoned ones. "I expect them to be trained up soon, lest they be thrown to the Glutton." And did he care if anyone cried? No. It was tradition to cut out weakness from the kingdom after all.

Sabre nodded his head in agreement. "I'll be sure to remind the newbies." He said glancing back at the soldiers for a moment. Fear can be a great motivator to get stronger. Still, he knew some would try and run or attempt to fight back. "Is there anything you need of me?"

Nanuk simply snorted. "No." He had simply grown bored with people trying to drone on about news of the kingdom. He had known about most of it long before they related the news, so he had just decided to leave. "I am merely taking a look around. Ever since we have opened up to outsiders, we have gotten much bigger numbers, but many of them are useless. They're all aware of our tradition though, and if they try to run, then they will be thrown over regardless of what I think. I hate cowards more than I do weaklings."

"I hear ya." Sabre replied placing one paw on the hilt of his family's greatsword. How weak creatures survived outside their kingdom was beyond him. He worked his butt off to be the strongest he could be. "We need something to liven this place up."
|
|
|
Post by Smokey Feather on Feb 23, 2019 8:51:29 GMT -5
Nanuk raised a brow. "Liven the place up?" The soldier shouldn't care about the atmosphere of their training, in his opinion. He looked out among the men and women training, watching them with his no-nonsense gaze. "What could possibly do as such for them, hm?" Maybe a tournament? That would definitely kill off some of the weak ones, in the sense that they'd be revealed and make the choosing process go faster.
