In The Beginning Leafclan was founded by a kittypet named Tweety, who used to take long strolls on the afternoons she wasn’t locked inside. One fateful day she met Gravel, a rogue who’d traveled all the way from the city to start a new life in the forest. After falling in love, the two ran away to the nearby barn, attempting to make a life there. Finding the farm life too relaxed and uneventful, they were chased out into the forest by the farmer's dogs. Gravel was then given a dream by the cats of his past, that he and Tweety should make this forest their home, and start a clan of cats here, so that no cat, no matter how old or how weak, would have food in their bellies and a warm place to sleep. Because of his connection to the Bright Forest, Gravel became the first ever Guider of Leaves, while Tweety led their new clan to a lasting peace.
Then While Tweety never received her nine lives due to a lack of faith, her son, Tumbleleaf, did. He lead the clan father than his mother did, inventing a new way to make dens and starting most of the traditions Leafclan upholds now, including the division between the two Guiders. Each of his lives were spent helping his clan. At the end of his last life, Leafclan itself was nearly washed away by the Great Flood, a week-long rain that flooded the Grumpy Lake and the Raging River. He, along with many other clanmates, drowned and were never found again.
Now Leafclan is lead by Tumbleleaf's successor, Brackenleaf, who is now tasked with rebuilding her family's legacy, and their water-torn camp. She is the third leader of Leafclan, and hopes there never is a last.

~Please read everything on this page before joining!~
~When roleplaying, be sure to be as literate as you can. Also try to keep responses above 1-2 sentences, to make sure your rp partner has enough to go off of.~
~Please inform me (either by DM or in the clan’s page) if you want to introduce a new plot to the clan. You don’t need approval for every small interaction or romance, but if it’s major please ask before you start it!~
~This page is LGBTQ+ friendly! This applies to both cats and roleplayers. OOC discrimination will not be tolerated at all, and can be a removable offense if repeatedly noticed. That being said, cats are free to be a gender other than tom or she-cat, or to be trans. Just specify that in your joining form if you deem it important to the character!~
~If you do not roleplay within one week, you will be put on probation. If after two weeks of absence you haven’t given any heads up or explaination, your characters will be removed. You will be free to rejoin after you come back, but if your cat was an important role (Leader, Deputy, Guider, or Guider Apprentice) you may not have that position back.~
~Try to make your characters unique and your interactions interesting. There’s always something new to see or do in Leafclan’s forest!~
~When joining, no cat is allowed to use the prefix or suffix of Crow, Sun, or Leaf. Crow is prohibited out of respect for the neighboring Crowclan. Leaf is prohibited for the same reason Star would be in the warriors universe. Also, we don’t want Leafleaf. Sun follows this, as it is Crowclan’s leader suffix.~
~No cat lives forever, so keep that in mind while roleplaying. No murdering other people’s cats without permission.~
~Please keep roleplay PG in terms of birth, deaths, or mates. A lot of people on here are minors, and in general it’s unpleasant to read.~
~Please put the name of the first leader of Leafclan in the Passcode section of the joining form to show me you've read and understood the rules!~
~Have fun!~

~As trees and leaves are very vital to clan life, their ancestors reside in Bright Forest. Because of the thick forest leaves, the clan hardly sees the stars, so they are not of particular importance. This means Star is an accepted prefix/ suffix for a cat!~
~Because the clan loves their forest, they would never call it the Dark Forest. Instead, they call it the Night Lake, as the nearby lake is the source of all of their suffering.~
~Bright Forest cats typically appear to be made of bright white leaves, while Night Lake cats always seem to be soaking wet and watery~
~The suffix for leaders is -leaf.~
~The clan likes to have small celebrations every time the leaves change (first day of each season). Their biggest of these is the Newleaf celebration, the Time of Trees, which marks the rebirth of their beloved forest. In times of peace, Crowclan is often invited to join in on the festivities.~
~Apprentices must pass a swimming test, including rescuing a clanmate from water, before they receive their name. This is to reduce the likelihood of drowning, and ensures no cat is liable to be left behind in case of a flood. This is a recent clan tradition.~
~The prefixes Lake, Shadow, and Night are not encouraged, as they tend to be negative words for the clan.~
~The clan relates water-based words with negativity, and describing someone as having a “watery soul” is a major insult, or an insinuation that a cat is treacherous and dangerous to the clan. Water-brain and Lake-hearted are two other rarely used major insults, along with typical warrior slang, like mouse-brain.~
- * -
Camp
~Leafclan's camp is inside a forest, a large clearing made by twolegs. There is one dead hollowed out tree in the middle of camp, this is the leaders den/ where announcements are made. The rest of the dens are made out of thickets and branches tied together in a circle around the tree, facing inwards. The Guiders sleep in their own den, and all apprentices regardless of position sleep in the Apprentice’s Den. The Deputy sleeps in the Warrior’s den. The Elder’s Den and Nursery are in the center of the ring, allowing them to be the safest part of camp.~
Raging River
~There is a river that flows into Crowclan (The Creek) that starts in a lake north of Leafclan territory. This is used for fishing and swimming practice, but only if the Grumpy Lake is less suitable. Sometimes the river floods during heavy rain, making flooding a big problem for the clan. The river never freezes over, as it moves too fast year round to completely freeze. ~
Grumpy Lake
~Named for its seemingly temperamental nature, the Grumpy Lake tends to be very calm and peaceful when there is little rain. During this time it is used for swimming lessons and hunting. When it rains, the lake is the last place anyone wants to be, as it tends to flood quickly and suck in any nearby life. ~
Whispering Windmill
~Whispering Windmill is a broken-down windmill. A part of Crowclan’s territory, this is where the Guider of Souls and their apprentice join Crowclan’s Sun-whisperer to share tongues with their ancestors. It is neutral and peaceful ground, and generally not accessible for anyone without the Guider, as the only way to get to it is through Crowclan territory. ~
Dead Tree
~A tree in the more southern part of the territory, towards the edge. Like the tree in the middle of camp, Dead Tree is hollowed and gray, with no leaves. It is normally full of prey, though incredibly dangerous to climb into. Because it is on the edge of the territory, it is typically where someone would be, though it’s very rare, exiled.~

Leader
~ Brackenleaf ~ She-cat ~ 40 Moons ~ Straight ~ wildwatcher ~
~ Appearance ~ Brackenleaf is a short, stout she-cat with strong muscles but less-than-tall legs. Her fur consists of patches of brown tabby and white, with most of her back being brown and most of her belly, neck, and muzzle being white. Her eyes are green and her tail is short. ~ Personality ~ Brackenleaf worries a little too much. She’s very focused on being a good leader for her clan, wanting to uphold her grandparent’s legacy as much as she can. She’s straight-forward and driven, but she’s no stranger to having fun. It just takes certain cats to bring that side of her to life. ~ History ~ The granddaughter of Leafclan’s founders, Brackenleaf has worked very hard to ensure her family’s legacy was secured. She is incredibly loyal to Leafclan, and views outsiders with great hostility. Her father and mother died during the last great flood, prompting Brackenleaf to introduce the new Swimming Law for apprentices. ~ Crush / Mate ~ Open! ~ Kin ~ Tweety (Grandmother, Deceased) Gravel (Grandfather, Deceased) Tumbleleaf (Uncle, Deceased) Fogpelt (Father, Deceased) Crumbletail (Mother, Deceased) ~ Other ~
Deputy
~ Deerheart ~ Tom ~ 30 moons ~ Bisexual ~ ♣️Quailly♣️ ~
~ Appearance ~ A dark brown tom with green eyes and a strong stature. He carries himself confidently and swiftly. Though tall, he is agile and quick to move. ~ Personality ~ Deerheart is rather quiet and headstrong. He stands for his beliefs and his clan, always putting them first above himself. Often this can cause him to push himself over the limit and cause injury. Overall he is very kind to his clanmates but can be rather rude and cold to outsiders or those he doesn't like. ~ History~ N/A ~ Crush/Mate~ OPEN ~ Kin~ OPEN Guider of Leaves

~ Wiltingeye ~ Tom ~ 34 Moons ~ Asexual ~ wildwatcher ~
~ Appearance ~ Wiltingeye is a solid black tom with incredibly sleek fur. His body is strong but a little lanky, with a long tail and large ears. His left eye is missing, but there is no hole where it should be. It just looks like there should never have been an eye there in the first place. His right eye is a yellow-green. ~ Personality ~ Wiltingeye is remarkably personable with his clanmates, despite his position in the clan being so unique. He’s incredibly lackadaisical about death, and makes jokes about it all the time. He’s incredibly serious when it comes to his job, however, and is very protective of the memories of their ancestors. ~ History ~ Wiltingeye was a loner named Blackbeard before he joined Leafclan. He started having dreams about cats he’d never met before, and they led him to Leafclan. They helped guide him to Leafclan, where they taught him his role as the first Guider of Souls. He is the reason the Guider roles are separate. ~ Crush / Mate ~ No ~ Kin ~ Because of his unique relationship with the afterlife, Wiltingeye views everyone as family. ~Other~

Warriors
~ Iciclefur ~ She-cat ~ 20 Moons ~ Bisexual ~ wildwatcher ~
~ Appearance ~ Iciclefur is a pure white she-cat with fluffy fur. She is tall and skinny, though her fur makes her look more full. Her left eye is green while the other is blue. ~ Personality ~ Iciclefur’s name isn’t the only thing that’s cold. Calculating and distant, Iciclefur doesn’t like conversation, and isn’t very tolerant of ignorance and goofing off. A serious warrior with a lot to teach, Iciclefur is a surprisingly good mentor, and apprentices always tend to be better after her instruction. That is, if they listen to her. ~ History ~ Iciclefur was born in Leafclan, to Frost and Saw, two rogues who joined the clan. Her parents died during the flood that took Brackenfur’s parents lives, and so many others. ~ Crush / Mate ~ Open ~ Kin ~ Frost (Mother, Deceased) Saw (Father, Deceased) ~ Other ~
Open! Apprentices
~ Rowanpaw ~ Tom~ 11 Moons ~ Homosexual ~ wildwatcher ~
~ Appearance ~ Rowanpaw’s fur is a bright mix of tan, red, and brown across his entire body. His chest and belly are lighter tan, while his back, head, and tail are a mix of the three colors. His fur is fluffy and messy, making him look like a bush when sleeping. His eyes are a brownish green, and his build is more lanky than his mother’s. ~ Personality ~ Rowanpaw tends to be quite a deal less of a worrier than his mother, Brackenleaf. He’s laid back and charming, though a bit difficult to work with. In his warrior duties, he’s way too competitive, prompted by his mother’s belief that they need to fill the founders’ footsteps. He doesn’t like the burden placed on him by his mother, which makes him prone to rebellion every once in a while. ~ History ~ Born to Brackenheart in her warrior days, Rowanpaw was raised constantly feeling the pressure of his mother’s rise to power. He seems to reflect her passion in being a good warrior, but rejects the idea of following her path to leadership. ~ Crush / Mate ~ Open ~ Kin ~ Tweety (Great-Grandmother, Deceased) Gravel (Great-Grandfather, Deceased) Tumbleleaf (Great-Uncle, Deceased) Fogpelt (Grandfather, Deceased) Crumbletail (Grandmother, Deceased) Brackenleaf (Mother) ~ Other ~ Open!

Brackenleaf was helping Rowanpaw collect some of the salvageable pieces of the Apprentice's den, both mother and son working hard to repair the nearly washed away structure. The leader sighed as she looked at her son, "Go do something with someone your age for a while. Let myself and the warriors worry about this. It'll be up soon." The small tom dipped his head to his mother, happily bounding off to interact with another apprentice while the leader toiled on, alone.
Wiltingeye, though not a hunter, was out in the forest. He and a couple of warriors he'd enlisted were out looking for any survivors of the flood, and the bodies of those who hadn't survived. With his unique relationship with the dead, he'd managed to find many of his clanmates, but many of their souls were stuck, for he was the only one who knew the way.
Iciclefur was hunting far from the lake, more towards the Crowclan border. She was restless and knew her clan needed food, but many of the animals native to their forest had washed away. Still, the determined she-cat hunted.
