"What about the others though? There are more of us being left behind everyday." He sat down softly, unsure of what to do. "I want to help them all like my siblings do but how can I do that if we're all over the place?"

Scar shrugged. Advice on this was not her strong suit. She may be able to teach sneaking, and even a little bit of hunting, or even how to find the best hiding spots. But advice on how to handle a group of cats, let alone kitty-pets? Yeah, she had no ideas.

"What if you got a group of cats together, that you know, and found an abandoned nest to stay in. Gather as many cats there as you can. Once there's enough, or you've gotten as many as you possibly can. You can all choose to either stay, or leave, and go from there. Other than that... I'm not sure what else to say. I was a barn cat, Scar has lived in the forest her whole life. We've never dealt with a situation like this before. So we don't have a lot of advice to give." Snow offered a sympathetic smile.

Corn, after a few moments, nodded thoughtfully. "That's actually a really good idea except for one thing, we don't really know how to hunt or fight or such things. We can't leave because we can't protect ourselves, and there's the fact that most of them think the two-legs are going to come back." He stood though and stretched. "My two-leg nest is big enough and has spots everywhere that cats can sleep and such so I can have them be there." He looked between Snow and Scar slowly and sighed. "I'm sorry to ask but... will you join the group? Even if they don;t leave two-leg place we all need to know how to hunt and defend ourselves."

Scar sighed silently. Kitty-pets... they depended far too heavily upon their two-legs. He thoughts stopped, however, at Corn's request. Stay here? Teach kitty-pets? "I don't know if we can. We have to keep moving." She shot a glance at Snow, who shot a glance back.

Snow hesitated for a moment, not wanting to agree immediately. That was something he and Scar would have to discuss between themselves. Though, of course she was ready to decline it. He sighed as well, looking to Corn. "Scar and I will discuss it on our own. We'll meet you tomorrow, at the edge of the forest with our decision, if that's okay. I'd rather not make any promises. And, taking on the responsibilities of teach an entire group of cats how to survive... I'm not sure if either of us are up for that." Snow was nothing if not honest. "We will consider it though." He shot Scar a look, he swore she rolled her eyes.

(Just gonna put my Alma starter here, while her two-leg is still alive, I feel like what might happen is that if she takes any of the cats with her for the long trip back to her house, they'll maybe get that one night of shelter, go outside in the area the next day and then they'll be a bunch of "shrieking two-leg monsters" and her elderly owner will be 'gone'.)
A pleasant day in her own mind, a plump tabby she-cat walked lightly uphill into the two-leg town, sun glinting off of her golden name tag and pads scraping the stone cobbled road. Alma's thick brown fur fluttered with the breeze, and she hopped up on a fence to access a roof on a series of two-leg dens on a steep slope, curling her extra toes to keep balance on the brick red clay shingles. She eyed a thick, rope clothing-line and leapt onto it nimbly, making her way across leisurely and looking around at the unusual emptiness of the area, barely a monster in sight. How unusual? She thought, as she made her way deeper into the heart of the town by unconventional pathways.

Corn nodded softly, understanding their reluctance to stay here. "Okay, I'll meet you there tomorrow then." He smiled softly and turned to Scar. "Thank you for the help once again, if not for you those dogs might have gotten me and I would have joined my siblings." He nodded goodbye to Snow before turning and leaving, a slight limp in his step still.
--
Cherry looked up as he saw a she-cat pass by, her plump form and collar telling him that she was a kittypet. Standing, the tom moved toward the stranger slowly as to not surprise her. "Hello there, I don't recognize you, are you new here?"

Alma noticed the tom approach her and hopped down from her little elevated pathway, greeting him with a neighbourly smile even before saying anything. "Hello! Yeh, I live farther out from this two-leg clusta' so I thought I'd come pay it a visit." She began in a startlingly thick accent, so that it was almost indecipherable what she was tying to say to Cherry. "My name is Alma," She puffed out her chest to show off the shiny name tag, while the collar offset a mass of fluff and a fold of her neck so it stood awkwardly. "What's yours mister?"

Cherry smiled lightly, stifling a chuckle from her accent. At her asking for his name he looked away and scratched at the ground with one paw. "Uh... it's... Cherry." He lowered his voice when saying his name. After a few moments he brought a paw up and cleaned his claws, making it easy to see that he had extra toes.

Alma seemed unbothered by his "feminine" name, as the naming system where she was from was a lot different anyway. "Nice to meet you on this morning, Cherry." She meowed, twisting her neck to push her collar down a little. She perked up as she noticed his unique and similar set of toes, and immediately bounded forward to invade his personal space a little bit, lifting her own paw and gesturing to it. "Oh! Would you look at that, I didn't think I'd meet someone else with paws- or, a paw, like mine!"

Cherry went wide eyed, staring at her paws before glancing to his and a smile spread across his face. "I'm not alone... I'm really not alone."He began to get teary eyed but quickly calmed himself. "Sorry it's just... I've always felt like an outcast because of my paws. Do your owners treat you like a prize too?"

Scar dipped her head in goodbye as the tom turned to her. "You're welcome." She mewed. "I hope your paws are feeling better. Try to keep it easy for a bit, let them heal." When Corn left she turned to Snow and started the debate on whether or not they should stay or leave.

Snow whiskers twitched again as the smaller tom turned to his friend once more and thanked her. Of course, without hesitation, once the corn-silk cat was gone, the debate started. Snow sighed and gave his rebuttal when he could. It was going to be a long night.

Alma blinked awkwardly as Cherry became suddenly emotional, but smiled encouragingly, though without an air of understanding. "I don't think so, my mother was almost as elderly as my owner when she had me though, so maybe he assumed I'd come out a little different if I did at all, sorry." She answered apologetically, but rested her tail on his shoulder. "But you're not alone, why, my old neighbor had this ridiculously done up two-leg who always took her out to show off her curled fur to other two-legs with "unique kittypets"."

Salt watched as a she-cat jumped down over the fence, a bird in her jaws. He quickly rushed over to her and suddenly was on his hind paws, his front paws on her chest as he looked up at her with relief. "Hi there! I'm Salt! Can you help me? I was left all alone." Ice looked down at the young kit, surprised at how bubbly and happy he still was after being left behind. " Sure Salt, I dont like seeing cats down on their luck." She mewed, though it was slightly muffled from the bird in her mouth. She let it go, landing on the ground with a soft thud. " When was the last time you've filled your belly?" The she cat asked, looking down at him.

Salt had to think about the question, his tail flicking idly behind him. "Yesterday at sunrise? That was when I ate the last of my food in the den, though it wasn't much." He was suddenly aware of just how hungry he was and his sight turned to the bird but he frowned at it in distaste after a few moments.

Scar was at the edge of the forest, near the two-legs place. Snow and she had been there for a few minutes, waiting for Corn to show up. She paced, her long tail sweeping back and forth in annoyance. "I can't believe we're staying." She grumbled, rolling her eyes at Snow's response. "I don't care-- no I don't. Look, we're supposed to be looking for a place as far away from my mother as possible. And I know you don't understand, but this is not far enough away."

Snow sat, watching Scar pace back and forth in front of him. It would have been amusing if he wasn't genuinely concerned about how this was affecting her. "Of course we're staying, they need help." Snow could tell from where he was that Scar had rolled her eyes. He rolled his back. "Yes, you do-," he let out an exasperated sigh when she cut him off. As the young she-cat voiced her concerns, Snow pushed himself to his paws. He approached her, pressing his nose to her ear. "We're never going to see her again. And even if we do, which we won't, I'll protect you." Scar seemed to relax at his words, brushing her cheek against him.

Corn-silk colored fur appeared from behind a red brick two-leg den, his eyes scanning the line of he woods until he found the two he was searching for. The tom seemed on guard, his ears pricked and his fur slightly raised as he approached the other two, his eyes darting behind him now and then.

"Snow," Scar murmured. She had been the first to see the corn-silk tom. The young cat pulled away from her friend a bit, though their fur still touched. "Corn," she greeted, dipping her head. "Are you alright?" The young tom seemed paranoid about something... had he been followed by those dogs?

Snow didn't hesitate to pull away just a bit when Scar spoke, though his attention went quickly to Corn. Something seemed wrong. The older tom narrowed his eyes, fur prickling a bit as he waited for the kitty-pet to answer Scar's question. Something must have happened for him to be looking so worried.

Corn looked around again before sitting down, hough his fur stayed raised. "It's nothing. Shortly after I left yesterday those dogs found me again and chased me back to my den. They were gone when I woke up this morning but I'm sure I haven't seen the last of them." He now focused his attention of the two rogues and let a smile cross his features. "So, have y'all decided?"

Scar merely nodded, going quiet. Though she kept her ears perked. Her senses were pretty sharp, her hearing and sense of smell particularly. If there was somecat who could pick up the dogs before they got too close, it would be her.

Snow purred gently as Scar so easily slipped into her role as watcher. Then his attention went back to Corn. "Well, we discussed it and... we'll stay. For as long as we feel we can. I can't promise we'll actually be of much help though. The least we can do is offer advice and pointers on how to survive without two-legs. But I don't think we'll be able to hunt and provide for everyone ourselves. Cats need to be willing to learn and listen." Snow explained. "So, if you can promise that cats are willing to pay attention to our teachings, then we'll stay and help."

"I can't promise that all of them will. I do know that a lot of the kittypets here want to survive, they want to be able to see tomorrow. I also know they are aware of the danger we now face and so will be willing to learn in order to protect themselves from it. I know of a few who already wish to join the group, I needed to know if there would be someone to teach us first though, you have now given me that confirmation, thank you." He smiled softly before standing and turning back toward the two-leg place. "Follow me, I'll lead the way since this place can be quite a maze and my den is quite far into it. We can pick up the others along the way."

Scar's fur bristled out more when Corn told them to follow. She really didn't want to, but Snow had promised...She took a deep, silent breath and stepped forward, her muscles tense. It was clear she was ready to bolt off into a sprint at anytime. The way her eyes darted around, she was looking for places to hide as much as she was looking for danger.

Snow nodded. "That's as much as I can ask for." He pushed himself to his paws and stepped after Corn without hesitation, feeling Scar tense beside him. He would ignore her for now. She was safe, despite how much she didn't feel it. "How many cats are there, do you know?" Snow asked. He didn't look around like Scar did, in fact he seemed rather at ease in the two-leg place. Maybe that was because he was a barn cat and used to being around two-legs, or maybe it was because he knew Scar was the best early warning system he had so he didn't have to worry much about paying attention himself. Either way, it seemed odd for a rogue. "An exact number isn't important, but having a decent approximation might help for early planning."

Corn thought for a moment, his tail flicking behind him as he moved, sure of his path. "There's about four for now. Three of them are siblings named Spring, Orange, and Ash. The last one is a she-cat named Curl who was recently left behind. The siblings were like me and among the first so now have changed to calling themselves loners, Orange has even gotten rid of his collar."

Corn nodded, his mind turning to his two-leg. Curling up with them to sleep and always being happy when they would play with him. The tom quickly dismissed the thoughts as he rounded a corner and stopped, gazing around slowly. He suddenly sat down, curling his tail around paws and clearing his throat. "Come on out."
--
A rustling could be heard from a box a few tail-lengths away before a head popped up, the ghostly white color o the she-cat's fur contrasting with her dark surroundings. "Corn? Is it time? Is it safe?" The she-cat jumped out the box she had been in, shaking out her fur before padding to the others. "Are these the two you told me about? That can help us survive?" As she neared and came more into the light it was easier to see her. She had long, curly, ghos white fur and had rich salt-and-pepper markings around her ears. Her eyes, despite her nice appearance and kind attitude, were a cold emerald hue, the left ne also being tutoned. She was of an average size with an angular face and her long ear stayed upright. Her short tail moved slightly behind her, being barely 3 inches in length.

"There's a cat near by." Scar whispered quietly to Snow, who merely nodded in response. Only a moment later, they rounded the corner and Corn called out to his friend. A pretty she-cat with a short tail jumped from a box. Scar's ears pressed down to her head and she lowered herself behind Snow for a moment as her green eyes took in the sight. Scar had a hard time with new cats. The only thing that had made being around Corn easy was the adrenaline and the fact he needed help. Actually just meeting a cat casually...that was a differently story.

Snow sat down as well, tilting his head to the side as the she-cat came forward. He didn't seem to notice Scar hiding behind him, though of course he noticed. Maybe if he ignored it, so would Corn and this she-cat. The handsome tom dipped his head in greeting. "Hello. I'm Snow, this is my friend, Scar. We're rogues, or loners, might be a better term. Rogues usually has a more...malicious intent from my understanding." He shrugged it off. "We'll be trying to help you survive, yes." He couldn't imagine what it looked like, a cat, barely over a year old and a kit not even half a dozen moons old yet, stepping up to teach older cats how to survive in the wild.
