When a cat has spent their life of the belief that the every odd is against their favour, and when fate seems to do everything in its power to prove this to be true, a cat might spend their life expecting shadows around every corner. And when that very fate rips everything our leader loves limb from limb in front of her very eyes, the cat at our head is left with her heart in ruin and the clan to pick up the pieces in the wake of tragedy, The clan slowly descending into chaos and fate seemingly not done with delivering its cruel choices. Will the clan be able to make its survive the tatters of a broken leadership in the midst of leafbare. Or will fate's wish for us come into fruition?
1. Basic Requirements.
The absolute prerequisite asked of joiners here is that you follow any and every rule enforced by the forums. Employ common decency and basic respect, but if uncertainties arise feel free to peruse this Link. 2. Activity. Everyone has a life outside of the forums, hence if you need to be excused from roleplay just let me know and adjustments will be made where necessary. However, it is requested that those who intend to join as characters key to either the clan or plot, you be on a minimum of 5 days a week, for everyone else 3 days a week shall suffice.
3. Plagiarism. Don't steal in short, and the attempt to do so shall result in the offending member being reported. Be it the coding, writing, characters or anything of that ilk, do not take anything not created by you without permission of the initial creator.
4. Joining. If you've gotten this far and not run for the hills, thanks so much! On initial joining I request that you please do so with a minimum of two cats one of each gender, if you wish to join as a cat not yet born, i.e. for plot purposes, this does not count towards that number. Before creating an apprentice, please ensure you first have two cats of other ranks, and similarly at least one clan cat per fighter {/outsider} that you make please, as to ensure the numbers don't become too outmatched.
5. Literacy. ValeClan is to be an advanced thread, hence unless you feel capable of achieving a minimum of 6 lines worth of roleplay per character per post, unfortunately this wont be the thread for you. If you fall short by a word or two or due to coding causing it to appear less, that is absolutely fine as well as occasional mistakes in terms of spelling, grammar etc. However, please aim to always be legible.
6. Characters and Roleplaying. All joiners will be permitted the artistic license to be creative with their characters, i.e. genetics need not be perfect, nor do the names have to be strictly understandable in the context of this clan. However, do not push this into the region of ludicrous, i.e. no bright pink fur, wings, or names such as Milkywayflower or Voldemortwhisker. Characters who are LGBT+ are quite welcome within the thread.
7. Bloodlines. One of my personal additions to the rules, and one I ask that you incorporate in at least one of your characters. Something to help with clan development is that I ask where cats share traits with another member's cat, I ask that you request of the other member that they be related to some extent, i.e. mother/kitten, brother/sister etc. And the same is suggested of mates. Whilst I don't expect this of every cat, please do not join as members of your own family.
8. Drama. I don't roleplay to write about the mundane every day lives of cats, I do it to be creative and have fun in general. As a result, I request one thing of you {aside from all those rules} and that is you have fun. Create subplots, romance, anything that will break my heart is completely welcome and encouraged. As long as you don't conflict directly with the main plotline {by this I mean burn it to the ground, not small additions or changes} and you include other members of the clan. You are welcome to have at.
Character Image.
Name. Here please write a short description of your cat's appearance and personality. @screenname Rank. Bloodlines. Other. Role Requests, Questions, etc. Strange request but recently there has been an uprising in putting forms under spoilers, can I please ask you don't do this. It makes it really annoying to add characters on my laptop without having to edit the form to get rid of this, so please just put it without being under spoilers.

Common traits of ValeClan. ⌑ Strength. A necessary trait to our clan is being reasonably well build in terms of muscularity, namely due to climbing and battling being a key feature of day to day life. ⌑ Medium to Large Sized Cats. Though not usually too noticeable due to our expansive coats of fur, the common height for a cat of ValeClan tends to vary from a little taller than average to very large. Cats of smaller builds being uncommon. ⌑ Thick Fur. Darker shades are especially numerous amidst our cats due to it giving us the advantage against the greens and browns of the woods and fields around us. In order to best fend off the common feature of rain and wind that batters our lands, cats of our clan tend to carry coats that are rather thick in nature. Furthermore, patterned cats are more common amidst our ranks than those of solid colours, further adding to our abilities to blend in with the woodland landscape around us. ⌑ Abilities. Our greatest talents tend to follow the suit of our strength, as a result battling paw to paw and hunting larger animals are among our most notable traits. This involves being able to hunt larger birds and squirrels, and capacity in battle against foxes and badgers. ⌑ Hardy. Likely the first word that comes to mind when contemplating this clan is that we are an especially hardy, intelligent and closed off to the outside world. Capable of putting up with a surprising amount and managing to survive, Whilst not especially quick to open up to outsiders as a general rule, their loyalty to one another knows few bounds.
Apple Orchard. A large copse to the south of the camp which is home to a population of apple trees and the squirrels frequenting its treetops. Playful creatures that enjoy knocking down apples at random upon the cats travelling bellow, it is a prime hunting spot for mammals such as the squirrels and mice, as well as smaller varieties of birds. Blossom Cave. Also known as the Painted Cave, it is a small cave within the hilly area of the moors known for the bizarre coloration of the ground in the area. A patchwork of the usual browns, as well as ginger and white colouration, like blossoms dappling the ground hence giving it the name. Here our connection with StarClan can be found, in the form of a large rock formation at the heart of the cave.
Duck Pond. One of few points where twolegs can commonly be seen on our lands, and only during the hotter days of greenleaf. It is an especially large pond within the clan territory, known for its population of ducks inhabiting the area. Not often a cause for bother, and a good place to fish.
Lightning Fork. After an especially brutal thunderstorm many moons ago it was discovered that a lightning bolt had struck a tree and started a fire. Fortunately, there weren't too many casualties, but the result is the original sparking point was all but shattered by the lightning, leaving it split down the middle like how a bolt of lightning splits through the sky.
Monster Crossing. ValeClan's eastern border between our territory and the twolegplace, is a large path frequented by monsters Its surface is harsh and painful underfoot, and the area always carries the stench of crowfood and burning. Owl Hollow. If travelling east from camp, one will come across a small meadow in the trees, one of the larger trees - a sycamore; is home to a pair of owls that use the area as a hunting place. Whilst not often causing our clan too much trouble, during leafbare they have been known to pick off smaller cats for dinner. Twolegplace. A rather large human domain beyond our lands that few cats venture into, and whilst twolegs aren't commonly seen amidst the woods, the few cats who dare wander into the area have never come back. And on occasion cats have gone missing amidst the woods, with twoleg scents following in the area at similar times. Warren. Where the land filters away into the moorland to the north of the clan's main territory, at the very edge where the tree line tapers away, one will find an especially expansive rabbit warren. The furry creatures frequent the area, providing a good source of prey.
ValeClan's camp is in the form of a natural dip within the earth, creating a crater like feature amidst the woodlands though fairly shallow comparatively. It is believed to once have been a river that has since run dry, providing a place for the clan's cats to make their nests. Leader's Den. A feature in the camp wall itself, it is accessed via a small path on the left paw wall, and is a small hollow cave providing room for the leader to make their nest.
Medicine Cat Den. Set within the camp floor itself, the medicine cat makes their den in a badger earth like fixture, providing a quarantine like area for the ill.
Warrior's Den. Found at the very edge of the hollow of camp where a tumble of rocks provided a closed off area hollowed out after an age for nests. Apprentice's Den. A small willow tree grows to the east of camp, within the roots of which the clan's apprentice's live. Though small, it is cosy and harbours much moss. Nursery. Providing a home for the clan's youngest members is a large hollow log settled by the northern camp wall, its roots in tact creates a warm den for mothers and kits. Elder's Den. Cats who have decided to retire from service spend their remaining days in the roots of a small sycamore tree found to the right hand side of camp.

Ashystar. This long furred, fluffy shecat is of the breed Nebelung, and thusly, she does not stray too far from what the breed looks like. Carrying the same misty grey coat as others of her breed, and with the same thickness. Her eyes are a hazy greenish-yellow, and her tail is long and feathery. She's small for her age, warriors in her clan tend to tower over her. This isn't because she is young, she is actually rather late in life, she just seemed to stop growing rather early. Ashystar has a small fleck of white on her chest, a short muzzle and rounded features that compliment her fluffy mane. Built lean and tough, this molly is crafted for running more than fighting. Over the years scars have become littered upon her coat, but the long fur helps hide the blemishes. She still shows signs of war however, from one split ear, to a bent and crooked claw on her left paw. She carries herself quietly, and gracefully, even if her personality is quite the opposite. The leader of ValeClan is rather childish at first glance. She acts less like a leader and more like a companion to all those under her follow. Care free, relaxed and playful, this molly would rather find solutions diplomatically than starting any scuffle. She is not all fun and games however, being a well learned cat, Ashystar knows when to take things seriously, and when to stand up and be tough for her clan. For many moons she has lead ValeClan prosperously. Many battles against loner groups or rogues have been won under her reign. Cats in ValeClan are less worried to approach their leader because of her friendly attitude. She doesn't think of herself any higher than her warriors, or the elders or queens, and holds the Medicine Cats to the highest degree. She is clever, and quick to recognize and gauge the emotions of her clan mates. More than once she has called for a massive feast and day of play a couple days after the passing of a beloved warrior. She is attentive, and cares deeply for ValeClan, and does not shy away from the responsibility of protecting it. But no leader is without their flaws. Ashystar is very emotionally minded, and under high stress these emotions can become violent. If she feels something, she likely feels it VERY strongly. It is hard to crack her happy personality, but under the right amount of stress this shecat crumbles. Without any family left in the clan, sometimes Ashystar feels as though she has no one to turn to. Paranoia is common in this cat, who under the right circumstances can be down right neurotic. Thankfully, she is aware of this aspect about herself, and is quick to lean on the support of her mate, Stormshadow. Anyone who is familiar with Ashystar knows how tightly the two are bound. He is her pillar, her support, without him Ashystar would likely have crumbled years ago. 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ
Deputy. Open, feel free to join as! Mountainshadow. Barely a couple of moons since having gained his full medicine cat name, this is an unusual cat in terms of most of the clan. Slender and built on a smaller frame than most, he is quick on his paws and equally fast in terms of wit. Intelligent and quiet, whilst his caring side isn't seen by most, his talents in his career path are obvious if take the time to watch the passion with which he works. But his quieter nature means that most don't get the chance to get close to this tom. Handsome, he is predominantly a pale brown tabby, marked by a splash of white covering his underside and much of his face, with black stripes in irregular patternings all the way down to his tailtip on his top frame. His eyes are a rather pale shade of bluish grey. 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ

Amberthorn. A reincarnation of a cloud both in terms of pelt and in personality, this is likely the softest creature you will ever meet. Cloaked in a thick but feathered pelt that is rather silky in nature, he is marked with a pelt of dark ginger with dapples of white and paler ginger all across his body and underbelly, notable for an especially thick tail. His eyes are a bright green colour, similar to the fresh grass of newleaf. His is an incredibly good natured tom, playful, kind and mischeivous with a charming nature to him that makes him an easy tom to befriend. However, he is rather naive to some extent, not willing to believe that those around him could ever intend him any harm, which can lead to others misleading or taking advantage of him. 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
Fenflower. A beautiful young shecat though rather shy in nature, this sweet young shecat isn't an often seen cat within camp. Preferring to keep herself to herself, most don't know much about her despite her being a rather kind natured young shecat. She is a slender warrior with long muscled legs leading her to being a talented climber. A calico, her coat is a patchwork of blacks, oranges and whites in varying shades all across her frame, with eyes of a chestnut brown shade similar to tree bark. Naturally shy and nervous, she has a kind heart that most never get to see as a result of her self isolation. Despite this she has a loyalty common amidst her clan, and though rarely voicing it, where necessary she has no fear in telling her opinion. 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ Longfeather. This molly is a long furred calico, with the typical coloration of white, black, and ginger. Her entire under coat, muzzle and cheeks are pure white, thus only the top layer of her coat has the mixed markings of black and ginger. With a small pink nose this molly stands with long, fluffy, but relatively tamable fur, if she ever had the dedication to clean it. She has a long, sweeping tail which is where she derives her name. Often it drags behind her, herself too tired to keep it up off the ground. She has rounded features, with big fluffy cheeks and small ears. Her eyes are a wide, deep calm light green. Longfeather has a lanky body that is skinny, and not exactly fit. She has no muscle of which to fight, but when forced to run she can maintain her stamina for a long time, at a quick pace. With a body not exactly built for fighting or hunting, this molly spends a lot of her time in camp. Lazy isn't exactly the right word for this shecat, but it's pretty close. Longfeather is constantly tired, even if she had just rested the entire day before. Her eyes sag with a dopey, relaxed expression, and she constantly is yawning. Able to take a nap at any time of the day, but also not wanting to contribute nothing to her clan. Longfeather is considerate of others, and isn't so dumb that she doesn't realize what other people think of her when they see her napping throughout the day. Thus, when she can scrounge up the energy, she'll provide or her clan any way she can. Since hunting isn't her expertise, Longfeather is normally sent out to menial tasks, like collecting herbs for the medicine cat, tending to the elders and queens, and going on brisk border patrols. When she's not working or sleeping, this molly is spending almost all her time with the apprentices. Longfeather is great with kids, with a likable, friendly, and laid back attitude. People feel like they can be themselves around this open minded and calm cat, so she tends to make a lot of friends. She doesn't have any anxiety around others, making her somewhat of a social butterfly. She keeps the apprentices entertained and out of trouble when they're not hard at work. With her exhausted attitude however comes a host of problems. In a way, Longfeather is lazy. She does not contribute as much to the clan as others, and can not keep an apprentice. She has tried being a mentor twice, but in short, she is terrible at it. Her personality can infuriate others, and when presented with a conflict, Longfeather will be the first to duck out submissively. She lacks the determination and drive expected of a warrior. Born to Greywater and Olivebloom, Longfeather was an only child. Her parents were wonderful to her, and when she was in the middle of her apprentice moons, her parents surprised everyone by taking in a kit from another litter. Longfeather and her new sister, Roundpaw, did everything together. She quickly established a very strong bond with her, and has grown extremely protective since. Sometimes Longfeather can be controlling of her sister, but it comes from a space of fear for her well being. Her parents died shortly after she became a warrior. 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ
Ravenrose. Deceptive in a variety of ways, in spite of being an especially small shecat in terms of build, she is surprisingly strong and as a result is a talented climber and a reasonable runner. Intelligent, strategic and often underestimated means that she is a cat to be reckoned with on the battlefield. But for the most part is a cat who prefers peace. For the large part a neutral face when it comes to the majority of conflicts, she provides a level head and calm response to most things thrown her way, though of course isn't fallible by any means. An entirely black shecat, her solid colouring means that she can blend into the shadows and dark like a ghost. Her eyes are a rather bright amber colour. Ravenrose is an older shecat, though nowhere near the age of becomming an elder,
Stormshadow. Built like a brick wall and quite capable of hitting just like one, this is an intimidating cat to look at both in terms of size and personality. Stern, quiet and mysterious, he is more than happy to let others know just what he thinks of, and unfortunately has the battling ability to make it hard to fight back. Slow thanks to his lurking size, most find it a puzzle that he was able to take on a mate given his quiet demeanour. Towering over most, this tall tom cat has a coat of dark grey, fading at the stomach into a soft grey as well as at the muzzle and eartips. His eyes are a dark blue. Despite being independent to most, for those who gain his loyalty or StarClan forbid his love, will find a close friend who would do anything to keep a loved one safe. 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
Roundpaw. This small, extremely fluffy birman cat has the coloring of a siamese, with a soft white body, a fluffy dark brown tail, and dark brown mask and ears. Roundpaw gets her name for good reason, not only is this shecat shaped like a circle because of her fluff, but her eyes are very large and round, carrying a beautiful dark blue color. She has a small snout and black nose, and small pointed ears. She is a heavy cat, slightly overweight, and lacking in muscle. She doesn't have the body structure expected of a warrior cat, instead she seems much like a kitty pet. Roundpaw is very insecure about her body, and about how others perceive her. Often she burns with guilt, thinking that others look down at her with contempt because of what little she provides to the clan. This reserved molly wants to do her best to provide for her clan, but her own insecurity can be her down fall. Sometimes she'll be too afraid to go out training if she feels that others will be along who might judge her. Extremely timid and skittish, Roundpaw tends to skirt around social interaction, not because out of any hatred of making friends, but just out of nervousness of what to say. She is very unsure about herself, about what she should be and what she should think, or feel. At times she seems unable to come up with things herself, looking to warriors or her sister for guidance on how she should talk or act. Roundpaw deals with a lot of issues about feeling unwanted, or unloved. After her mother died when she was a kit, she was adopted by Greywater and Olivebloom. For the longest time she looked up to her birth father, thinking that he would still want to be there for her after her mom died, but the father strayed away, and soon faded, and wanted to be disassociated with her. Her new parents made her feel welcomed and loved, but Roundpaw could never brush away the feeling of rejection. For all of her faults, Roundpaw is also very talented. She is a wonderful listener and story teller, when you can get her to talk. This little apprentice is very imaginative, coming up with fables, and spinning them into a story very well. Even though she's quiet, Roundpaw is always keeping her mind busy, thinking and creating inside her mind. She shares her stories with her big sister, Longfeather. Roundpaw is very polite, she always minds her manners, and is a great listener. When one gets to know her they find a sweet, soft cat underneath with a great sense of humor. She makes a great friend, and she hopes to one day make a great warrior.

Dusk. The calm before the storm personified, this tom is calm and level headed until thrown into battle where he becomes unrecogniseable. Known amidst his group for having survived the most dog fights, he is a veteran of battle and shows it in the multitude of scars littering his frame. Know that he does none of it for the fun of it, but for survival alone and if it comes between you and him, or one of his loved ones he will do everything he can to survive. A massive tom, his coat is thick and marked with colours of predominantly dark brown, but dappled with splashes of white, grey and paler browns in a patchwork all across his back and body, with eyes of a stunning yellow colour. This is not a tom you want to cross.. 🇳ᴇcʀᴏᴅ🇦🇳cᴇʀ
Pepper. This very tall thin, awkwardly proportioned cat is nothing to gawk at, even if his appearance can take one aback. Pepper is a devon rex breed, with extremely short, thin fur; with just a comb over one will see the skin. His fur is white, and his coat riddled with small scars, scattered everywhere. He has long limbs that have no meat on their bones, and a long wiry tail. The most notable thing about his appearance are his massive ears, sharp and pointed. He has a very triangular face, almost like a praying mantis, with massive green eyes and a sharp pointed muzzle with a bright pink nose. With a build like what Pepper has, fighting is almost an impossibility. Because of his weak frame, he can sustain one or two hits before he is out completely. He doesn't have a lot of muscle either, and weighs practically nothing. But do not give him the benefit of the doubt. Pepper is one of the fastest cats around, able to bolt so suddenly with such speed that it makes the head spin. To win his fights, Pepper uses very dirty tactics, not fighting with any semblance of honor. His strategy is just to keep running until you catch the enemy off guard, land a devastating attack on their back, and hope your opponent doesn't catch you. Pepper is about as nasty as his fighting tactics. This tom thinks very highly of himself, stroking his own ego and relishing when others praise him. Self centered would be an understatement, the only thing this cat can think about is himself. He is very prideful, never backing down from any challenge, and with a very competitive spirit. When talking to him, one will realize that he's kind of a brat, not unlike a full-of-himself kit who just discovered the warrior fighting stance. Pepper is eager to show off any chance he can. He has a lot of energy to burn, making him very hyper and excitable, and despite his big head, this tom is actually rather stupid. It's easy to manipulate him into doing your bidding, as long as you stroke his ego. Despite his flaws, Pepper isn't a bad cat. He is very logical minded, instead of emotional, but when he does pick up on emotions he's not one to brush them aside lightly. He cares deeply for those that he has formed a bond with, wanting to protect those that he see's as weak. Part of him wants to a big brother figure to everyone, but his social skills are lacking, so most of the time he doesn't get across the words or meaning he wishes to. Pepper was once a kittypet before he was brought into the fighting ring. It was his own owners who enrolled him, and did so at a young age. Pepper surprised the crowd by surviving many fights, and soon climbed the rungs as a high competitor. The ring has been all he's known for almost his whole life, thusly, he doesn't know of any better world beyond those walls. He lives to fight and kill, and he was never taught that it's wrong.

Apart from occasional conflicts within clan or bitter leafbares, the history of ValeClan has been a largely peaceful one, a fixture within the woodlands almost as long as the rivers and trees. The clan has survived through much, and most believe little could fell it. They will find out the hard way just how wrong they were. In the twolegplace, something darker than cat kind could ever think of is going on. Dog fights organised as entertainment with the sheer purpose of forcing cats to fight to the death. Wild dogs and cats are being snatched from the forest with the intention of forcing them into the rings to get themselves killed at the fangs of cruel dogs. And now even cat fights have begun to brew in the midst of this pain. For a while only one or two cats had gone missing, though heartbreaking most assumed it to be unlinked, but they will soon learn that the truth is anything but. Our leader is snatched from us alongside her mate. And for the first time a cat survives dissapearance, but she returns a changed cat. Having seen her mate ripped limb from limb at the hands of dogs, her mind is shattered and the leader brought to the brink of insanity. And her clan is left to pick up the pieces. On the edge of breaking under the pressure of leafbare and leadership in tatters, suddenly a large portion of the clan is lost to a raid by twolegs, and given the stories of their broken leader as to where she was taken. There is little hope for the fate of those snatched from our ranks. And a plan is formed to bring back our clan, but if it fails it might be the end of us.

Open to anything and everything as usual Cac - Mountainshadow could have siblings or parents. - Amberthorn could have a mate, siblings or parents. Potentially a queen with kits but not really old enough for anything older. - Fenflower could have a mate, siblings or parents, but too young for kits really. - Ravenrose is likely old enough to have young warrior kits, or anything younger, as well as mate, siblings parents etc. - Stormshadow could have siblings or parents - Dusk is open for siblings and parents.
Hope that helped! and I need to ammend the rules quickly, I didn't mean you need two clan cats per fighter, just one is fine, I now realise I worded that awfully.

He is her pillar, her support, without him Ashystar would likely have crumbled years ago. 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ
Rank: Leader Bloodlines: Stormshadow is her mate. Other: Plot Role: Leader.
Longfeather.
Rank: Warrior Bloodlines: Adoptive sister is Roundpaw. Other: Plot Role: Contestant.
𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ
Rank: Apprentice Bloodlines: Longfeather is her adoptive sister. Other: Plot Role: Kidnapped by twolegs.
I'm doing good! Just got off work, have a lot of chores to do today that I have to motivate myself for. xD
Fun Fact: Ashystar is partially based off our own cat, Ashiya, who is the same breed and sort of roughly the same personality, but not as unbelievably hyper. xD So if anyone wants even more references of her I got plenty.

Mountainshadow - - - Camp, with whom, tags
Returning to camp just as dawn was breaking over camp, the young medicine cat apprentice walked as though expecting an ambush around every corner. Gripped in his jaws not herbs but a rather plump juvenile hare, his intention had been to find borage leaves and parsley, but instead had found his kill. Whilst hunting was hardly in his repertoire of skills, with leafbare hitting the clan he was hardly going to let it go to waste when the opportunity arose. Weaving his way carefully through camp, the thick furred tom deposited his prey on the fresh kill pile with a satisfied twitch of his whiskers. Looking up, his gaze wandered through camp in contemplation for a heartbeat. He had already checked on the elders not long before he had gone to nest the night before, so he didn't feel they would be in need of help until at least sunhigh. Which provided enough time for him to make a return trip with his intended collection. It might just be my last moments of peace until newleaf, the tom thought with a half hearted chuckle to himself. The young medicine cat apprentice, the air grew more bitter every morning, herbs became a rarer find, prey seemed to be retreating to their dens to stay out the cold, and the sun graced their lands less and less each day. Life would become far more stressful, especially with a litter of kits on the way to be born in the depths of their coldest moons, it was a good idea to stockpile as many essential herbs as possible. Personal time would become a distant dream. However, life was already building pressures on not just the young medicine cat apprentice's shoulders, but his clanmates too. The night before the dusk patrol had returned with warnings of stale fox scents by the Thunderpath, and whilst Mountainshadow had been trained in basic fighting moves, he would rather not risk being the first test of leafbare. As a result, the young tom decided to search for someone who might accompany him into the territory in search of herbs. Plus, with any luck they might have been able to return with further prey for their clan. Settling comfortably to the side of camp, the thick coated tom drew his fluffy tail around his frame with a soft sigh. Trying to ignore the battering winds and focus on the task at hand, searching for a companion of the morning. Today of all days it seems that everyone is still asleep, he thought looking around with a flick of his ears. Deciding quietly to wait as patiently has he could for a companion to arise from the aether, the tom settled into grooming his thick fur with a soft grumbling sigh. Fenflower- - - Camp, with whom, tags.
Rousing from the depths of sleep with about as much enthusiasm as a piece of fresh kill, if the choice had been hers the young warrior wouldn't have woken up for much longer. But as usual fate wasn't so kind to allow Fenflower a couple more hours sleep. Woken by the sounds of the morning patrol returning to their nests with intent of more sleep that the calico had now been deprived of. The warrior rolled over with a rumbling sigh, resting her head across her paws with a quiet sigh as she thought to herself for a moment. Trying to think what might be her best option, trying to catch hold of her dreams for a few more moments. Or leaving the den and making an attempt to actually be productive with her morning. Deciding on the latter with the intention of not being skinned alive by the deputy for her laziness. Fenflower lifted herself to her paws and pushed through the nests with great care as to where she rested her paws in an attempt to not wake one of her clanmates. She pulled through the rocky entrance of the warriors den and into the still dimly lit camp of ValeClan. Finding the area largely empty aside from Mountainshadow who looked like a cornered mouse waiting for something or other. The quiet calico kept herself to herself most of her life and this morning was of no difference. I wonder if that fox is still about, she wondered with a nervous glance in the direction of the camp entrance. Had it not been for a variety of concerns about getting killed at the paws of a mangy beast she would have gone on her usual solo patrol. Built smaller than the majority of her clan, the warrior often went rabbit hunting in the bordering moors. It was a place not commonly utilised by her clanmates, meaning it was usually one of the better populated hunting areas for the clan, especially during the colder moons of leafbare. But even Fenflower wasn't so scared in the face of socialisation that she would dare traverse the territory with rumours of danger darting on the wind. Stormshadow- - - Camp, with whom, tags.
Weaving his way through camp not long before dawn was the towering Stormshadow, flanking him a pair of warriors he had brought with him to ensure the scents of fox were only rumours or soon would be. The massive warrior dismissed his patrol with a flick of his tail, exhaustion ached through every bone and he was intent on returning to his den where he would quite happily sleep for the next moon. Fortunately, whilst a fight had occurred it had lasted what felt like less than heartbeats and the trio had returned with little more than a pawful of scratches between them. But the fact a fox had been found within the territory still made the tom's pelt itch with frustration. Kits were on the way, namely his kits, and even though they wouldn't arrive for a moon, threats to his family weren't appreciated. Stress was never something that the tom had dealt with particularly well, quiet and isolated in nature. For the most part the warrior kept himself to himself, and most considered the fact he had a mate in the first place was a near miracle given he had little affinity for socialisation. But now he was to become a father, and regardless of his personal opinions in regards to the matter, he would do everything in his power to keep them safe. Ashystar was taking the news far better than the tom cat, not surprising, his beloved was usually far more adept at, well everything. Taking a small sparrow from the fresh kill pile, one of its more appealing looking offers of the early morning. Whilst he hadn't expected a fully stocked fresh kill pile at this hour of the morning, he had hoped something that didn't look like an apprentice's first catch. It'll do, he decided with a grumble. And if not I'll catch something for her myself. Pulling away from the centre of camp and ducking his way back through camp until he reached the path leading up the camp wall. He ascended in silence, careful how he lifted his paws in case he inadvertantly roused his mate in his attempts to return to their shared nest. Once reaching the top, he carefully nudged his way inside to find the leader settled sleeping in the moss. Dropping the prey at the edge of the den for her to eat when she awoke at a more reasonable hour. Stormshadow settled himself comfortably in the nest beside her. Curling around her quietly, his massive frame easily enveloping much of her as he pressed close to her. Eyes drifting closed as he let the darkness of sleep take its hold at last.

Stormshadow was only awakened a couple hours later, giving him just enough time to rest to the point where if he woke up he wouldn't want to claw his own eyes out. Near close though, Ashystar had awoken from her peaceful slumber to find her mate curled around her, from his heavy rest she could tell that he had a sleepless night. The fox? She wondered to herself, hoping to herself that her love didn't have to come across the beast, and it was simply chased off from their territory. But the scratches upon his long furred flank said otherwise. Ashystar's ears lowered, eyes wide with sympathy. She pressed her muzzle gently to his cheek, reflecting to herself how hard he worked to make sure all of his duties were done, and then some. He worked so hard... Too hard! He had to learn to relax every once in a while, he would scare her half to death with all that stress on his shoulders. She turned her head to the smell of prey and found a sparrow at her paws. He must have brought it for me... Sweet little thing. She purred happily, looking back to her mate with deep admiration in her hazy eyes. Oh Storm... What would I do without you? She gently licked the top of his head, surprised to find that a burr had found it's way on her tongue. He tasted like the forest... She loved that about him. It felt too early to wake him up just yet, he deserved a long, peaceful rest. But, she could at least leave him a little surprise for when he woke up. Ashystar gently placed her paws on his flank and began to clean his fur, starting from the back of his neck and slowly working down his coat. He was so much bigger than her! He had so much more to clean. Occasionally she would have to spit out a loose thorn or leaf that had managed to tangle in his deep locks of fur. Getting him to roll over so she could clean his chest and stomach was a challenge, Stormshadow was nearly impossible to move once he was asleep. Good thing he was at least a heavy sleeper. It took her understandably a long time to clean his darn fur, but finally it was fully groomed. Ashystar's whiskers twitched in amusement, she reminded herself that in a few moons she would be cleaning fur nonstop, what with her little one's running around. Balancing being a good mother and a good leader would be hard, but she had Stormshadow. She felt like she could get through anything with Stormstar. Finally, the misty furred leader gently licked her mate's nose, playfully rousing him from his dreams. "Good morning, sunshine." Her tone was warm and playful.
