Aurora started to fade away into her own mind, only jolted back out by the whimpering cry of a child who had tripped and fallen. Wait, is that one of mine? She sighed, lifting Liam back onto his feet by his coat collar, and brushed him off, gesturing at Isla to stop. "You're fine, let's go," She said firmly, walking fast. Come on, come on! She thought to herself. God, please don't let something happen now...

Charlotte's gaze drifted to a Mundane and two children - only to falter, briefly. Hundreds of years of practice meant that identifying even hidden warlocks had become something of an easy task, but...well. She'd learned not to intrude unless asked. Nonetheless, she paused in her walking to watch them walk, noting the quick pace. Had something happened? She tilted her head to the side and considered it, eyes narrowing.
Mundanes with warlock children was a recipe for disaster. She didn't know many warlocks without a tragic history. But Charlotte was the High Warlock for a reason - she knew that she shouldn't intrude, knew how to keep to her own business. Besides, she wasn't the maternal sort. She had no love for warlock children, even if she was willing to help them. They had to learn their own path through history sooner or later, and she was there to help with glamours and controlling magic, not to be their nanny.
Still...she watched the Mundane girl - or maybe woman, she wasn't sure of age - as she walked, teeth worrying her lip.

Aurora continued onwards, hurrying both Liam and Isla along. She was vaguely aware of the feeling of being watched, but paid no attention to it - it was probably just because Liam had tripped. As she walked, she glanced around, attempting to notice any Downworlders or Shadowhunters before they noticed her. She wanted to avoid aggression, and keep both of her charges safe. Her gaze landed on Isla, who had been paused, staring at a loose rock on the pavement, for far too long. She tugged Isla along, heart pounding - Isla had always been slightly more magically skilled than Liam, and in all honesty, was probably closer to doing magic than her brother. If Isla revealed herself too, right now...

Maybe it was the sense of danger that spurred her into action, turning on her heel and walking towards the Mundane and the children instead of away. She stopped near the girl child, crouched in one fluid motion. A faint purple glow danced across her fingers, and the loose rock vanished. No-one around them noticed, but Charlotte was skilled enough to glamour where she was going to use her magic.
"Not in public," she told the girl child, tone blunt and yet tinged with softness. Charlotte straightened herself and tossed some of her hair over her shoulder, gaze drifted over the Mundane girl. "Are they your children?"

Sienna Highfire ~ At the Institute, with Naomi (toska )
Sienna followed Naomi into the training room, resigning herself to having to share a space at least. There wasn't much she could do about it, in any case. The other girl's almost goofy attitude was... strange, but not unappetizing. She's actually quite polite, she added to herself mentally, noting the formal way in which she'd been asked to train.
She watched the other girl pick up a wooden broadsword, a one-handed weapon. Her weapon of choice, in fact. This picqued her interest as she moved over to a far corner and unclipped the belt on which her sword's sheath hung and pulled it free of her belt loops. In a normal fight she'd use her own silver broadsword or a seraph blade, but it wouldn't be quite fair to use a metal sword against wood, and she was fairly certain she'd get scolded for using a real weapon against a comrade. "Sure, I don't mind sparring a bit," she replied, setting down her sword in the corner and moving to grab a wooden one of her own. It may not be entirely true, but she was doing her best to be polite in return.
The wood was thick but not quite as dense as metal could be, making it a good deal lighter than she was used to, but, well, she would make do with what was available. She gave the sword an experimental flip, catching it by the hilt with a sigh. "Not exactly what I'm used to, but it'll work," she said, turning to face Naomi with her wooden blade held at the ready. She noted the way Naomi was holding her blade, as though she was somewhat unfamiliar with it. "You do know how to use one of those, right? It may not be much of a fair fight otherwise."

Jason rolled his eyes at Bash, a grin on his face. “That sounds like something you would do, can’t trust you, Bash.” He said jokingly, knowing that Bash would be one of the last people in the world to try something like that. He walked back with the swords, handing one to his friend. Jason held one in each hand, since he preferred to dual wield them. He chuckled slightly as he studied his friend, seeing how hyper he was. “Settle down, Starkweather. You’ll need all the energy you can spare to beat me.” He said with a smirk as he motioned for Sebastian to bring it on. "Well, you have the upper hand here," The Starkweather boy motioned to the two blades in his parabatai's hands, "So do I really have a chance?" As he spoke he he walked away from Jason, balancing the seraph blade in his hand to test the weight. Without warning he spun and ran towards him, raising the blade to attack. " Michael." Bash whispered the archangel's name as he ran, the blade erupting in a burst of light.

( Morning, all! I have Naomi [Nephilim], Lune [Fae] & Charlotte [High Warlock] open, if anyone would like to interact with them! ) Maybe it was the subtle guilt at pushing away another who suffered from the Cold Peace, but Adrian found that any sort of rejections died in his throat. He exhaled slowly through his nose and found a cloth to clean up the dots of blood, working methodically. His wounds throbbed - but they weren't serious, so he barely paid attention to them. Once this was all clean, he'd use an iratze. They seemed clean enough. "I am Adrian Xiao," he inclined his head in greeting. "The mess was clumsiness on my behalf. You did not have to help, but I do appreciate the help."
A thanks without saying thank you - it was the convoluted way that the fey would speak, and Adrian was aware that fewer words were likely easier. But he wanted to be polite. Naomi drilled it into him that he had to thank people when they helped him, even if he didn't want to. "It... It's nice to meet you." Adeline gave him a small smile, picking up the last of the gravel from off the floor. "I don't mind helping, I can be pretty clumsy myself sometimes." Picking up the tray the shadowhunter girl stood to set it on the table nearby. She didn't live nearly as long in the land of the fey as Adrian did so she never picked up on their way of speaking, but she could pick up on it quite easily. Adeline acted more like the Nephilim than she did the Fae, although her appearance always gave away her lineage. "I'm sorry I never introduced myself sooner. I'm... Not exactly the best with people."

Teagan eats her food and listens to the conversations going on around her. Having enhanced hearing was blessing and a curse at times. Once she was done eating, Teagan rises to her feet and throws away her trash. "See you gals later!" She called out to the Warlock before leaving the cafe. Donovan was splayed out on the couch and staring up at the ceiling. He was just laying there to be lazy and to let his mind wander. He was thinking about leaving the Institute to do his own little patrol. Since there were no missions about, Donovan wanted to go out and see if he could find something to do. There was bound to be some demon or rogue downworlder lurking about. Annabelle listened to her footsteps echo through out the halls as she walked, heading towards the Institute's large, wooden doors. Her long, dark hair fell in loose waves around her shoulders, standing out against the light grey hoodie she wore. The Institute was rather boring these days, the only real things to do were training or studying - and the Starkweather girl wasn't in the mood to do either. In the end she decided she would rather go on a run than throw knives at a target for the millionth time. Maybe she would find something entertaining to do once she was outside; as of late the mundane world and hanging around Downworlders was more interesting than her duties as a Shadowhunter. - I did just a general starter for her, I'll do one for Ajani in a few minutes if you want to rp with him instead -

Protectiveness was natural, but she would've thought a better job would've been done of it. Charlotte tilted her head as she studied the younger duo and their sister, a hand on her hip and weight shifted to one leg. No glamours, and it seemed that the children were already getting curious. "Then invest in lessons so that they can learn to control themselves," she said smoothly. "There are plenty of warlocks who'll do it, for a fee. Otherwise, they're going to expose themselves." * * * Nephilim made an effort to get used to all sorts of weapons, and Naomi was no different. She flipped the blade in her grip before moving it to her left hand, instead. Much better, when it was in her natural hand. With an eyebrow raised and a lazy grin on her face, she looked to Sienna and moved into a stance - more defensive, but it would do. "Of course I do," though she wasn't offended, she let some offense leak into her tone - just to see the reaction of the other Shaowhunter. "I'm decent. Just much better at long-distance." But it wasn't as if long-distance could be practiced on others - crossbow bolts hurt, and so did arrows. There were targets, of course, but Naomi grew bored of that. She'd taken to practicing with weapons that she was unlikely to use in a battle. It meant she would be able to if she had no choice, and she'd be able to have more fun when using her other weapons. It was a fool-proof plan, mostly. Usually, though, it was with Adrian. This was Sienna. Naomi knew she wouldn't be able to accurately predict what she was going to do, that she wouldn't be able to detect the little tricks or habits. She barely knew the other woman, which made for an interesting fight. Naomi's grin turned wolfish as she waited for the other Shadowhunter to take the initiative of a first move, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she waited. * * * Once the mess was cleaned up, Adrian perched on the edge of the bed and picked up his stele, scrawling a messy iratze and watching as the harsh scrapes and bruises vanished. Once it had worked, he brushed his fingers over the now-clear flesh, nodding to himself quietly.
"I understand," he told Adeline truthfully, lifting his gaze. "With our current state of affairs, it is understandable that you do not wish to commune with those you are not already acquainted with."
Adrian rose to his feet and slipped his stele into his belt, adjusting his jacket quietly.

Sienna Highfire ~ In the training room, with Naomi (toska )
Sienna blinked as Naomi switched hands, suddenly appearing much more competent. She smirked slightly at this, holding her own wooden blade at the ready in front of her. "Well, I suppose I should warn you that broadswords are my specialty, and I don't plan on going easy," she replied, a taunting edge to her words. She'd been training for years to perfect her craft, this was just a bit of practice so she didn't get sloppy.
Naomi appeared to be offering her the first strike, so Sienna bent her knees a bit and dropped into a practiced combat stance. She held the sword firmly in her right hand, her bent fingers facing the ceiling as she pointed the dulled wooden tip at Naomi. After a moment of silence, she lunged forward, testing the waters with a simply thrush at Naomi's abdomen.

- Sorry it's kinda rushed I'm getting ready to head to work ;-; - "Well, that's certainly part of it but I'm just really not good with new poeple." The girl let out a small nervous laugh, twirling a strand of her fair hair between her fingertips. "Anyway, it is really nice to finally meet you. I'm sorry I just sort of barged in here." Adeline wasn't exactly sure why she was apologizing so much, it wasn't normally like her. "I was thinking about going to get something to eat... Would you like to come? I can make a mean grilled cheese sandwhich." She had never met another Shadowhunter with similar bloodlines to her so she was honestly a little excited. She and Annabelle were more or less under house arrest, so she was curious to see what sort of adventures Adrian had went on before arriving at the institute.

Money, Charlotte supposed, was always an issue for mortals. They didn't have an unlimited amount of time to gather funds, didn't have lengthy lives. As sympathetic as she was, she wasn't the sort of warlock to talk to this about. She tossed some hair over her shoulder and shrugged. "Find a warlock who'll do it out of the goodness of their heart. There are plenty in Seattle, some of them probably have a warm spot for children." her gaze drifted to the children. When they reached her age, she doubted they'd remember much of their childhood. They'd be lucky to remember the Mundane who looked after them. * * * She kept her gaze on Sienna, eyes narrowed thoughtfully. Naomi had learned to keep a sharp eye on those she didn't know well, and that meant she was cautious. When Sienna began to move, she only waited briefly before she all but danced out of the way, twirling on her heel and swinging her blade to meet Sienna's. The tip of her tongue stuck out of her mouth as she concentrated, gaze flicking between the other Shadowhunter's blade, to her feet, to the rest of her body to try to judge her next move. People were different to demons, obviously. But it was good practice, she knew, and trying to judge movements was a big part of battle. Some people were easier to read than others, but Naomi wasn't sure if Sienna was going to be one of them. * * * Adrian tilted his head as he finished cleaning up some blood, throwing away the wipes and checking around. He hadn't really left a mess, so he didn't have to stick around to clean up. Besides, Naomi would probably scold him over refusing to hang out with anyone. He could almost hear her now - the reason you don't have friends is because you say no to everything. His stomach growled, and he shrugged.
"Yes," he said, after a moment. "I would like that. I do not think I have had a grilled cheese sandwich before."
He usually ate salads, or whatever Naomi made. She was big on carbs. Lots of pasta. He liked it, but it seemed to be the extent of her cooking abilities.

Sienna Highfire ~ In the training room, with Naomi (toska )
Sienna hadn't really expected such an obvious attack to hit, and wasn't surprised when Naomi parried her attack. Contrary to the other girl's concentrated expression, Sienna seemed completely relaxed, as though she wasn't really taking this exercise seriously. She rarely did when practicing with a sword, actually, since there were few other Shadowhunters in the Institute who could rival her skill with a broadsword. If she had decided to use another weapon, things would be different, for now she moved mostly on instinct and muscle memory, not too concerned with dodging any attacks she hadn't seen before.
Sienna kept her eyes on Naomi as she spun out of the way. the dull thunk of wood on wood the only noise in the room. "Hmm, not bad," she commented, though her frown stayed on her face as she adjusted her footing to face Naomi more comfortably.
Sienna stepped back lightly, putting a bit of distance between herself and her opponent before lunging quickly back in with her sword held over her head. She swung it down with greater force at Naomi's right shoulder, wondering if her smaller self would be able to overpower the other girl's strength. She wasn't a pushover by any means when it came to physical strength, no Shadowhunter really was, but her small size did have a negative effect on how much brute force she could exert. By aiming at Naomi's right side, she was attempting to make the other girl stretch to counter her attack, wince Naomi had shown herself to be left handed.

Donovan notices Annabelle and sits up. "Where are you headed?" He questioned wondering if he could come along with her. He literally had nothing to do and was desperate for something to do. Please be going out to mess with mundanes! Granted, that was more of his thing but still!
