[ discussion page ] the mighty { quiverclan } tundra warriorsquiver [ˈkwivər] verb tremble or shake with a slight rapid motion
A cold, harsh wind whips your face, ruffles your pelt, and sends a chill deep down in your bones. The bitter cold gnaws at your aching paws as you wander across this unknown land. The area is rocky, mountainous. Pine, spruce, and birch trees dot the landscape every now and then, with a few thicker places of woodland. The rush of a river and steady drum of the waterfall it flows into sounds in your ears. All of a sudden, you hear a tumble of rocks and look up from the trail, towards the rocky cliffside. "For StarClan sake, Morelpaw, I told you not to climb on the rocks when we are trying to stay quiet. I'm sure the trespasser has heard us." At the sound of voices, you start to run, but the tumble of rocks and treading of pawsteps grows louder. In moments, you are surrounded. Three figures, two large and one smaller, stand in a circle around you. The one in front, a dark brown tabby, begins to speak. "What are you doing wandering around our territory?" You explain yourself, stating how you were just passing through and mean no harm. The brown tabby nods and looks to his left at the gray and white feline and that back at you. "My name is Troutflank. These are my Clanmates, Glacierberry and Morelpaw. We are members of QuiverClan, the Clan that possesses this territory. We will let you pass through, but next time you won't be so lucky." You look at them, wide-eyed, wanting to know more.

season & weather
The current season is leaf-fall. The temperature is slowly getting colder, but it rarely drops below freezing. The sun is normally shining in the sky, but the clouds may sometimes cover it. The winds often pick up and can be dangerous near the cliff's edge. Apprentices should refrain from leaving camp alone. The river water levels are slowly rising. The prey is becoming slightly scarcer, specifically migratory birds. Because of this, some dangerous predators have made an appearance.

deputy { Troutflank } - { Tomcat } - { 30 moons } - { Heterosexual } With looks resembling his sister, this tomcat is also a Siamese mixed with a Himalayan. His looks almost identical to his sister, Lichenhiss, but his features aren't as distinctive and his markings are actually quite dull and unnoticeable. With a name such as Troutflank, his looks are very easy to picture. Coating his larger frame is a plain dull cream color. Then the colors come, layered onto his pelt. The next is a pale ginger mixed with a dark cream that covers the drab base coat in sharp patches, covering him from nose to tail. The third and final layer is the highlights and lowlights of him looks. A simple brown color crafts the final touches to his pelt, giving him a mask around his eyes, coating his toes, and also only just dappling his tail with a few small spots. His features on his face aren't as sharp as Lichenhiss's. Rounded ears, a short and stubby muzzle, and two almond shaped eyes make up his face. His eyes are his best feature, so innocent yet piercing. They are a dark blue like the color of lapping waves on the ocean. Troutflank's personality is certainly not very appeasing. He is cranky and crabby most of the time, seeing much like an elder than a warrior. The only sweet part about this tomcat is the big heart he has for his sister. After their parents died and his sister developed schizophrenia, he has always been looking out for her. She is his best friend and everything he has to live for. He feels her pain as he knows that she was very close to their parents. When he isn't cranky, he can be an easily befriended cat, always trying to make new friends. His favorite activity is swimming, a true water bug at heart, despite the freezing cold temperatures. The water is a soothing place to him where you can be at peace with yourself and he can be found always swimming after a fight. This tomcat has quite the sense of adventure. He is always exploring new places, even if that means crossing the Clan's borders to explore the unknown world. His mind is always whirling with new ideas and new ways to have every day an adventure. Troutflank can be a charmer when it comes to she-cats, being a real flirt at times. This trait isn't the best trait to have as he will flirt with any she-cat, even if he is already with somebody. He is a player, that's for sure. He doesn't try to be. In all honesty, he would love to be tied down with somebody and start a family, but he is always flirting with she-cats. It is just something he can't help. Apprentice, N/A
medicine cats { Floedance } - { She-cat } - { 28 moons } - { Panromantic-Demisexual } A beautifully thin figure of lean muscle creates an overall lissome, sylphlike frame with a soft, yet hardy feel. Most notable for grace and poise, Floedance holds herself effortlessly with the sophistication and dignity of a queen: each movement executed through means of fluidity and daintiness, not unlike that of a dancer. As a result of being so immensely rooted in fluency and neatness, her nimble prowess lends itself greatly to the makeup of her musculature, one streamlined, flowing, and slender in origin. This complete concoction of finesse is sustained by limbs of a proportionally fine and narrow stature: tall in height and attenuated in width. Plumes of silken fur shower from these ankles, elbows, and paws, but none so much as from her face. Tufts soften out any sharp angles that might’ve come from having something of a triangular shape for facial features, the concluding product creating an enchanting and endearing appearance—reinforced by innocent circular orbs hued an aesthetic cyan, indigo-flecked blue. Her muzzle is slimly fashioned, tipped simply by a small pink nose and equipped with off-shooting silver whiskers that grow translucent toward their extremities. Framing her face are rounded off ears, feathery at their base and tufted towards their tips. Over such a body runs a smooth, short-length coat of a rather soft quality, its gentleness being attributed to by an insulated undercoat that manages to regulate the chill of the surrounding environment. It is always kept in a tidy and well-combed state, as evidenced by its routinely glossy, velvety look. The pelage’s design is point coloration, giving her many extremities rich chocolate highlights over an otherwise creamy pelt base—a great indicator of her Snowshoe relation. As her breed will entail, the foundation of her coat is of an off-white coloration, one decorated with multiple variations of browns. They blend together to form a lovely shade of dark auburn, but spiral out from markings back into their actual colors, darkest to lightest, creating a delightful gradient. These hues splash namely across her ears, wiry tail, and bands on her legs, before concluding in a mask-like blotch across her face—forehead and all. A white blaze marks her muzzle, taking the shape of an inverted “V”, while her paws share the same hue. Though not shy, Floedance is not at all interactive, nor does she enjoy much social interaction in her current state. She tends to repeat words, mumble things under her breath, stutter, or skittishly drone on about a single topic. Perhaps one could receive a flash of a smile here and there, but it’s always rushed and fleeting, so no cat ever has the time to decipher the true meaning behind her show of teeth. Then again, juggling a medical position, anxiety, and a moderate case of obsessive-compulsive-disorder, this medicine cat already has her plate full to include communal chit-chat or bonding time. Struggling with OCD especially takes a toll on her, leading to irrational needs such as making everything impressively organized, abnormal behavioral tics, and a bad, bad case of perfectionism. She’s forced to engage in ritualistic behaviors to dispel anxieties about an obsessive thought, or else the unreasonable fear of something terrible happening overwhelms her mental space. Underneath all the adversity is a truly docile, compassionate cat—one renown for her intelligence and unprecedented mastery of herbs and healing alike. Apprentice, N/A

medicine cat apprentices { Owletburr } - { She-cat } - { 13 moons } - { Demisexual } Soft, sweet, yet as talkative as a flock of sparrows. She is a hefty combination of favorable and unlikable traits all bunch up into a single being. With a pelt as soft as silk, miss Owletburr has a striking pelt of silver grey dappled with white to resemble freckles. Low-lights and highlights are created by different variants of the grey parts on her pelt. Her features are pristine and proper looking, like a pampered princess. Though that is something she is not and would never dream to be. She is a fighter and will prove that to anyone anywhere and anytime. In her pelt lingers scars from these fights, some deep and some just skimming the surface. With a wedge-shaped head complete with a long, flat muzzle with a pink nose, long ears with tufts on the tips, and two wide eyes pushed slightly far back in their sockets, this cat looks like different odds and ends tied together. Her eyes are her only good feature in her face. They certainly distract you from the rest of her. Her eyes are round and wide like orbs and are delicately filled in the careful brushstrokes of blue and silver, dancing together to form a sky blue iris. Owletburr is a hard worker and excels in any kind of academics. She is a book worm as well as a nerd because she can recite almost any code. She isn't quick to make friends, so she usually does things alone. She doesn't like being bossed around which comes to another flaw. She doesn't work well with others in the first place. She feels they are distracting and evidently pointless in most situations because she thinks she can do something better by herself than with a partner. She has a great and powerful speaking voice that draws your attention, but she can sometimes sound monotone and unappealing which can lead to people not following her orders. Mentor, -

warriors [ 13 - 60 moons ] { Glacierberry } - { She-cat } - { 45 moons } - { Heterosexual } Just like her mother, this she-cat is a grey cat. But unlike her mother, who had touches of silver on her pelt, she has splashes of white all over coming from her father's side. This she-cat has a very unique name. Glacierberry. That seems like quite a strange name. She is a very round cat and has been since birth. She isn't fat, but she has a natural curve to her body. It starts with her spine having a larger curve than normal. Then her stomach also bulges out in the same fashion. And finally, her head is also rounded as well. Her pelt is long, much longer than her mother, Tinystorm. Her whole frame, which is quite bulky looking, is coated in a dark grey swaddling, to help her blend into the shadows and become almost completely invisible when the sun goes down. Glacierberry has a simple white color palette splashed upon this black hole of fur and brightens up the drab black tone. A large block head sits on a thickly cut neck with long, heavy fur. Two bright orbs cut through the fog of dark colors. Her eyes are round shaped but seem more flatter on the bottom. They are filled in with a light bubble blue color that make her look innocent. Glacierberry is definitely an innocent cat. She will always be a kit at heart because she isn't very intellectual and seems to not know what is going on. She has a hearty sense of adventure and is also kind of nosy. She is always poking around into other cats' business because she is curious about practically everything. One thing about her that most should avoid is her excitement. This she-cat can easily become overly excited and bounce around like crazy when somebody tells her something in which he enjoys doing such as hunting and rock climbing. Apprentice, N/A
{ Slushjaw } - { Tomcat } - { 41 moons } - { Bicurious } Dark smokey grey, light grey, and white are splattered together in no order on this tomcat's body. His sturdy frame is draped in a canvas painted like an artist's mistake - messy and smudged. This tomcat goes by the name of Slushjaw, named for the dirty color slush usually ends up. He is a larger tom with long legs and a thick, plumey tail. The colors of his pelt blend together nicely, but the snowy white really makes the dark grey stand out. Slushjaw has greenish-amber eyes, looking different depending on the light. He has a pinkish nose, like the color of a flower petal. He has long, silver whiskers as well, resembling wires. Slushjaw is a natural leader. He has a strong sense of ambition which makes him seem bloodthirsty, but he just wants to be in charge and in control. Slushjaw's determination is one the biggest strengths of his, but it also may be a weakness. He never backs down from a fight and is always wanting what is best for his Clan. His determination pairs well with his compassion. He has a strong love for his family, especially his littermates, Burrowpaw and Tidepaw, who are now deceased. He would do anything for the ones he loves, including lay down his own life. Slushjaw is also adventurous, but this was more so in his apprentice and early warrior ages. He would always explore past the borders or try activities such as tree-climbing or swimming. The one thing Slushjaw struggles with most is his love life. He is absolutely terrible at flirting or at finding love in general. He is also awful at picking up signs when another cat is flirting with him. He has had one love in the moons he has been alive. It was with a she-cat named Shalefloat. After her death, he was never the same. His parents were Ternheart and Icefeather, both killed in a horrible snowstorm. His littermates, Burrowpaw and Tidepaw, were killed before becoming warriors. Burrowpaw fell over a cliff after slipping on ice. Tidepaw died from hypothermia after falling in the river. Slushjaw always refers to his littermates by warrior names he gave them - Burrowscratch and Tidestripe. His father, Ternheart, had another mate, Meltedglacier, from which came about a half sibling, Owletburr. Mentor, N/A
{ Elkpoppy } - { She-cat } - { 31 moons } - { Bisexual } A stout build of well padded muscle coated by a thick layer of fat creates an overall plump, yet hardy frame with a meaty, sturdy feel. Periods of hunting trips, combat practice, and adventure have lent to the neat lining of thew along each of her bulky, stubby limbs, in turn allowing easy control over her body—movements always taken in confident, self-assured strides rather than the expected clumsiness associated with such a build. Her physique as a whole is quite blocky and rectangular, with a slight arch that follows down toward her haunches, making up one of the main blueprints of her breed, the Siberian. As such, she’s stockier than most, equipped with a barrel-chest, large, rounded paws, and a long, flowing tail. This rather tough, well upholstered musculature does little to pool into her size, however, which remains small and below-average. Taking inspiration from her figure, this molly’s face is adorably rounded, with chubby cheeks tufted by plumes of sleek fur. Her muzzle is boxy, with a pink nose and white off-shooting whiskers. Eyes are discoid in shape and sweet in expression, colored a soft heather emerald speckled over by a fine gold. She has a broad forehead framed by two medium-sized ears with fluffy furnishings. Her pelt consists of thin, fine strands of fur, textured a plush velvet—concentrated mostly on the cascading ruffles that flow elegantly from her ankles. This fleece is patterned in different shades of dark colors, labelling her specific look as a calico. As such, a fiery orange delicately lines over the whites of her face, haunches, back, and tail. Similar colors paint a large portion of her body, gingers and creams being the most notable. Blacks dances across that of the alabasters and apricots, making its presence known throughout her visage, chest, and burly legs. A bubbly warrior with seemingly an endless quantity of energy. She has a fun-loving, humorous air to her, providing the Clan comic relief when times become tough. This pays homage to her emotional stability given all the losses she’s been through, as though nothing can wear her down. Not only were her parents taken due to old age, but her mate and kits too. It’s unfortunate really, as Elkpoppy yearned to start a family, trying many times with her late-consort. All these attempts regrettably ended in miscarriages, before ending altogether when her mate, Salmonfin, was killed by a fox. Still, she manages to hold a genuine sense of positivity and happiness, continuing to remain unwavering in the face of sorrow. This isn’t to mean she isn’t without emotion—she does go through stages of grief—but they don’t control her life in ways some allow grief to. The only potential consequence that has come from these series of losses is a mildly overprotective personality, one she mostly practices around her younger brother, Cariboupaw. Despite knowing she’ll never replace the ones she loved, she truly hopes to one day be able to settle down and properly have kits with another individual. Mentor, N/A
{ Nunatakrift } - { Tomcat } - { 16 moons } - { Homosexual } Solid muscle drapes around firm bone, creating the strapping foundation of this well built physique: power uniquely split between athleticism and brute force—one sometimes more inclined over the other depending on circumstance. Overawing and intimidating, this warrior sticks out for his massive height and stocky width, standing above average through means of thick, tall legs and a broad-shouldered, rugged musculature; not unlike that of a bobcat. As a result of such characteristics, he fits the mould of his breed quite nicely, the Pixie-bob, by sharing traits renown to those of his wild counterpart. His paws are huge and wide, with such bulk designed to dispatch prey with relative ease and to attack enemies with deadly grace. Being a polydactyl each paw is equipped with eight digits, granting an inherent skill at climbing and allowing for better footing on icy surfaces, in turn giving him something of a rolling gait when walking. The balance brought by extra toes also evens out the potential disadvantage of having a naturally bobbed tail, giving rise to easy maneuverability and unfaltering fluidity. His gut sags a bit towards the ground, yet not so much as due to weight but rather a biological component called the primordial pouch. This flap allows protection to his more vulnerable underside as well as flexibility after tucking in a big meal. Pear-shaped in structure, his face typical holds a vicious scowl, complete with narrowed lime eyes and a boxy muzzle—one tipped with a black nose, pursed lips, and off-shooting whiskers. The ears that top off his head are tufted a grayish ebony. A rough, long-length coat runs over his figure, often messy in management. However, it somehow doesn’t impede his handsomeness—if anything, it upholds a sort of fanciful ‘bad-boy’ look. This pelt is a splash of ruddy brown, overlaid with muted black spots that run the length of his spine, flanks, and haunches. His paw pads and ankles share the inky hue, matching the tabby stripes that snake up his legs. Touches of white can be found here and there, especially on his muzzle and tail. Despite being a young warrior, Nunatakrift has yet to outgrow his rebellious nature, let alone tame it. Insubordinate in nature, he is renown for snappishly belittling authority and displaying aggressive tendencies towards clan-mates. Most of this resent and bitterness arises from his upbringing. A product between a cheating mother and a rogue father lent to a lot of scathing disapproval growing up, especially from his step-sire that took out his hurt and anger on the misbegotten wretch that served as a constant reminder of his mate’s unfaithfulness—crafting today’s spiteful and pessimistic warrior. The abuse extended to the discovery that the then-kit liked toms, and thus his stepfather’s homophobic mindset was viciously forced onto him. Even now, seasons after his death, Nunatakrift struggles with his sexual orientation, finding fault in the idea of being gay. He compensates by trying to find favor with she-cats, being quite a flirt when need be. This in turn leads to loveless affairs where he acts unintentionally cold and uncaring since at the end of the day his preference simply isn’t towards females. Despite having a severely traumatic childhood that shaped his sadistic outlook on the world, it is purely possible to chip away at his gruff exterior to find that beneath all that aggression and irritability is a truly vulnerable and confused cat which simply wants to be held and loved. apprentices [ 6 - 13 moons ] { Cariboupaw } - { Tomcat } - { 10 moons } - { Heterosexual } An apprentice of hefty proportions, Cariboupaw is the definition of a towering, powerfully built cat. His anatomy is anything but delicate, instead being tough and sturdy. This foundation comes courtesy to the strong structure of the bones fabricating his frame. Firm muscle overlays that of the osseous ones, prompting the total of his impressive physique to have a solid, athletic feel. His long yet stocky limbs exercise a brilliant task of maintaining his form upright in a manner that exudes command and confidence. A broad chest lodges betwixt his shoulders, evenly spacing the two as they smoothly jut from his sloping spine—a main characteristic to his breed, the Siberian. His paws are heavy, round, and huge, not unlike clubs, but despite his size, his body has yet to grow into them. Thus, he’s often observed as being clumsy and ungainly. Despite this, he’s renown for being very gentle with his bulky paws, understanding full-well the potential of unintentionally hurting someone; especially those younger than he. The contours of this male’s countenance are triangular, though still soft, courtesy of the fur that rounds out any sharp edges. Eyes of an intense gold brightens his facial features, always offering something of a warm and welcoming look. A slender snout separate the optics in good proportion, a raven-colored nose eventually tipping it. Medium-sized ears are set at the pinnacle of his crown, their tufted tips giving the semblance of a tapering structure when, in reality, they are quite curved. Accompanying these wispy edges are aesthetic furnishings that spill from within his ears—the filaments having a surprisingly velvety texture. In fact, his entire frame is carpeted by a silken coat, one dense with water-repellent fuzz. It is tawny in color, with lighter variations making some areas appear flaxen or even yellow in hue. Dark chocolate tabby markings overlay a heavy proportion of his body, concentrated mostly about his tail, back, and legs. At the end of these limbs are white paws, contrasting vividly against the darker colors of his pelt, but concluding its design nonetheless. Cariboupaw, in short, is the epitome of noble. Honest, courageous, and patient, this tom is extremely reputable amongst warriors and peers alike: a fine example of a quick-witted and diligent apprentice. Sometimes his relentless perseverance can lead to overworking himself to the extent of physical exhaustion—an experience he really never learns from. Some might see him as a workaholic or an overachiever, but whatever it is, it really isn’t considered healthy for such a young cat. He needs to begin balancing out tenuous day-to-day activities with recreational ones, instead of going purely for the former and being afflicted with headaches and fatigue afterward. The tom is incredibly amicable and optimistic, perhaps a little too much. It lends to a bit of gullibility on his part as he is easy to open up and even trust the shadiest of cats. He is very family-oriented and dearly loves his sister, Elkpoppy, looking up to her and her positivity now that his parents are gone. Having had him out of their prime, he was considered a happy accident and was doted on relentlessly up until their eventual passing. There is no doubt he misses them and hopes they’re watching from StarClan as his success and progress grow. Mentor, N/A
