Lucy Woodhaven, a name will know to the small town of Logan’s Leap Washington. She was a star runner. Beloved by her truck and cross country teams alike, she lead them to amazing varsity seasons sophomore and junior years. She was the girl everyone expected to see at the next Olympics, a distance runner and a hurdler. That’s way it hit the small town where she grew up so hard when she was hit by a car. She had her boyfriend another runner were crossing the road into the school. He pushed her out of the way .With only minor injuries she was eager to keep running however for him this running career was over. His legs would never mend they way they use to be. This happened early in the first week of school. After a week in the hospital Lucy’s eye sight suddenly went away. No doctor can example way this happened and they are looking for answers. When the role-play starts it’s a mouth after the crash both of them are still in the hospital. You can make anyone in her life.. The boy friend and family and her running team mates are the most important. No need to do info. I'll whip up a starter when I know one of the characters I have to work with.

Sure
Lucy sat up in the hospital bed her legs folded. She stared at the back wall. She of course didn't know that and her parents had gone home to shower. One or more of her old team mates would be by soon. One of them or more of them had come over adter practice everyday..

Jessica headed down the hospital's corridor with a bouquet of flowers in hand. Her heels made clopping noises, similar to the sound of a horse's hoofs. She figured Lucy would recognize the sound and assume it was Jessica. They had been best friends after all, she would know by now. She opened the door, making sure she wasn't too loud. "Anybody home?" She asked in a perky voice, hoping it wouldn't offend her former team mate. Jessica made her way over to a chair beside the hospital bed and set the flowers down on a bedside table

Lucy heared the foot steps, heels that mean't it had to be Jessica. Lucy truned a to the sound and again sat course legged. Jessica was the only member of the team that ever wore heels. "Of course I'm here were els would I go." Lucy sighed, "How was practice and school?'

"Oh lighten up." Jessica said playfully. She was never much of a downer and always tried to look at the good side of things. I guess you could say Jessica was quite the optimist. "Practice..." She thought for a moment, and put her hand to her chin, "oh, practice was the same as usual. Just the couple miles for the long distance kids. And school? Well, I'm almost glad you're not there to meet the new math teacher. She is rude! I don't like her, not that I've acted like it, I guess she doesn't like me. So, it evens out I suppose." Jessica shrugged. School just wasn't the same without Lucy, and Jessica thought it never will be.

"I was just kidding around gosh Jess." Lucy said when she told her to lighten up.The worst part of this was not getting to stay as the team captain., "Good , How are you feeling about the meet Saturday?" Lucy looked at her with empty eyes., "So everyone has told me about the new teacher.. I'm glad I only made it to a week of classes before the new one came."

"I'm dreading it. We're going over to that one high school on that Air Force base, and dang, can those girls run!" Jessica hated competing against that team, they weren't rude or anything, but they were just so good it made her almost jealous. Jessica truthfully enjoyed running and competing against the other schools, just not this one.

"That's this weekend already. I'm sorry! you can borrow my new shoes if you want, they'd fit and they would bring you luck." Lucy said. She knew she wanted Jessica to take the shoes,"In fact you can have them,i t doesn't look like I'll be running again."

"No Lucy, I appreciate it but my mom told me to wear my new running shoes for the track meet." Jessica looked around the room, "Where did your mom and dad go? I thoight they were coming today."

"Well you go by my house at least and get them, I don't care if you give them away or hide them, I don't want them there when I get home." Lucy said the words came fast. When Jessica mentioned her parents she smiled a little, "Went home to shower and change, Mom hasn't left in three days." Lucy sighed.

"Eww...not showering for that long would drive me crazy." She laughed "But of course, I will pick them up for you." Jessica knew that it must be hard to have your lucky pair of running shoes mock you, because you can't run.

"She smelled dad had to drag her out the door. She was driving me crazy." Lucy said," Thanks, That well help me out a lot. Give Coach my love." Lucy sighed, Coach had been one of the few people to not come to see her. Lucy looked at were she thought her friend sat, "You know the team doesn't have to send someone over here every day tell I get out or come as I group. I like talking to you all but you must have better things to do."

"Nothing could be more important than visiting your best friend in the hospital. Homework can wait." She laughed, teachers knew Jessica wasn't on top of her work. However, she manages to pass somehow with a B average.

"You have to keep your grades up to keep running remember." Lucy said softly. "Have you guy's been taking Max with you." Lucy's four year old German Shepard mix had been running with the team since he was a puppy and they had promised to keep taking him along.

"Yeah we do when we get on the cross country trail. The school said they didn't want pets on the track and field you know?" The school was always iffy about Max, they decided however, that he can go om the cross country track where he can't rip up the track

"I know, I think they let me because I'm such a star." Lucy laughed, "Is he still enjoying it." Lucy felt bad about not being able to see her dog., "How have you guy's been getting him still running over there between practice and school."

"Dont worry Lucy, he's okay!" She smiled, even though she knew that her friend wouldn't see it. Lucy was always fun, quirky, and smart. Jessica wondered why God let this happen to her. She was a firm believer in her faith, and prayed often for Lucy, hopefully some good will come out of it soon.

"I'm glad he is, I miss my boys er boy." Lucy said. She did miss her boyfriend but she didn't want to talk about it. He had saved her life . He would never run again because of it. He had a scholarship for it same as she did.
