I've been thinking on getting an upgrade on my drawing tablet, but I hear a lot of mixed reviews on things. What do y'all use, and how does it work for you?

If you want a screen tablet, I hear monoprice and parblo are the cheapest alternative. However, the most expensive, stable, tricked out, durable, and functional tablets are Wacom screen tablets. They've had a monopoly over the tablet industry for sometime now so their products are always 'the one to compare other brands to'
Huion is the second most used brand, however they're still struggling to get their tablets as fully functional as Wacom. Not that most people have a positive experience, but the difference is that 10% of people usually end up with bugs or difficulties in their products, as Huion is the cheaper alternative for a reason. However as time goes on, the products get better.
I have a wacom Cintiq 13HD and it works fine. No real hiccups and increased my productivity and quality 10 fold. If anything, sometimes the computer for some reason doesn't 'register' the tablet which means it occasionally becomes not just pen but touch sensitive (so then I cant rest my hand on it lest the cursor go all over the place. A glove would help but I refuse to buy one), however if I reset the settings and configuration and disable the touch sensitivity it does just fine. I think it has something to do with the current OX Sierra model.
I just bought a friend of mine the Monoprice 15.6" Graphic Screen Tablet which was 68% off this black friday. I've heard great things about their 21" tablets and that they are on par with the Huion and Wacom models of the same size. Seems like a legit, although underrated tablet. Ill let you know if my friends hate it lol.
The smaller Parblo screen tablet models however have gotten a lot of mixed reviews. Essentially the final verdict was "It gets the job done" although you might struggle with the functionality. The larger 21" Parblo model seems to have more positive reviews however.
If you want a regular tablet then I would go with Wacom. You can get good deals on some of the older Wacom models. I used to have the old thick grey model. It comes with Photoshop essentials. Worked fine for me for about 4 years until I upgraded. I had some wire troubles but that was my fault.
