See Me . Adelie Keyes
This is why she loved him. There was something about his voice. It was soft, gentle. His voice was the one she held onto when she had nightmares, when she woke up gasping for air. It was the one she needed the day they all out of her reach. Burying herself into his chest, she felt her breaths steadying, her head cocked to the side as she felt his heart beat. She could lose herself in the constant thump his heart gave out against his chest. But pulling her away from him, Ethan steadied her in front of him, Adelie blinking back the tears as she stared into his eyes. She knew his mouth was moving, but all she heard was his voice, that deep throaty tone that drove the brunette's heart into overdrive. She loved every part of him. How could she not have seen it before? How could she live with loving a boy that would never know? Biting her lip, Adelie gave him a half-hearted smile, shaking her head. "What could I do without you?" she murmured, burying herself into his chest once more. What she really wanted to say was You're mine, Ethan Grey. I want you to be my forever. I want us to be a stupid, cliche love story. I've loved every part of you since forever. But she knew that those words would never leave her lips. She couldn't lose him, not right now. He had his girlfriend and she didn't want him to leave her. If she lost anyone else it would break her.
Steadying herself upright, she looked up shyly at him, tucking her hair behind her ears, a nervous habit. "Sorry Ethan, love." Turning her gaze towards her aunt she glanced up nervously at her, offering a wave. Her aunt gave her these sad eyes, as if remembering something before she quickly looked over at Ethan, raising her eyebrows. Shaking her head, she let out a small chuckle, wiping tears from her cheeks with the inside of her hand. Her aunt knew about Ethan, I mean, didn't she always? Aunt Sarah and her mother were the same, they knew everything about everyone. While they were two years apart, the sisters could've been twins. Turning back to Ethan, she took his hand, squeezing it tightly as she teased softly, "So... how are you and your girlfriend? Still going on steady?" Pain flickering across her blue gaze, she kept an even smile as she looked at Ethan. "I need something else to get my mind on."

See Me . Ethan Grey
Ethan wasn't expecting her to hug him again, and the force with which she buried herself in his chest almost threw him off balance. He chuckled softly, a little awkwardly. He wasn't used to consoling people, other than his siblings when one of them had a bad day at school or fell off their bike and scraped their knee. No, he wasn't very good at empathizing with others - but he could be there for them. He could be solid, like a rock, reliable and dependable. He had to be; it's what he was used to at home. Protecting had become almost second nature to him.
He put his arms around her, a hand at her shoulder and another at the small of her back, letting her lean on him once more. He'd wait for as long as he needed to, like a good friend was supposed to. When she pulled away and looked up at him with that familiar shy expression on his face, he couldn't help but smile. "Don't say sorry. I'm here for you."
Her next question caught him off-guard. Why would she bring that up now? "Um," was all he could think of for a moment as she grabbed his hand. He wondered how his girlfriend would feel if she saw him hugging and holding hands with another girl. She'd understand, of course. She knew Adelie was his best friend, and their relationship was totally platonic. She'd understand... wouldn't she?
"Um, yeah," he replied finally, running his other hand through his dark brown hair. He fixed his sharp blue gaze on a jogger on the opposite of the street, watching them until they turned the corner as he spoke. "We've been dating almost a year now. It's starting to get serious." Feeling suddenly self-conscious, he added quickly, "but up until recently it's been pretty casual." For some reason, discussing his girlfriend had always been a touchy subject around Adelie. It shouldn't matter who he dated, right? I mean, they were just friends. He wouldn't care if she dated another guy, as long as she was happy. At least, that's what he told himself.

No, I am so sorry! You haven't done anything, love. I'm just quite horrible for starting a plot shop then not being very active, bad me. Dx I have started on your starter and am currently working on finishing it! I'm really, extremely sorry for my inactivity. I've been feeling very motivated to work on school stuff so I'm trying to channel that while it's present. xD I'm going to work towards posting a reply at least once or twice a day. I quite love roleplaying and am setting myself up for a bad rep for being such a slow responder. There's no excuse and I just realized that this is a bit rambley, oops.

Well, I love to ramble to myself so here's a bit I'll say. xD I just finished an English essay today after I went and had my teacher look it over. She said it was great so that was amazing. <3 I was pretty productive today and worked on a good chunk of a packet. I'm not stressing like I usually do over my schoolwork so that's amazing. I'm usually a worrywart and school gives me a bit of anxiety. That's why I'm usually not very active during school with all this studying and such because school is stressful but fantastic at the same time. I love school, I'm very nerdy. cx I especially love history. I'm a complete nerd over it. Anyway, crash course on me here. (: Feel free to ramble if you like as well. c;
Also, I will definitely be on tomorrow because I need to do some stuff so reply will be up tomorrow! I have most of it done but I need to edit it in the morning because it borders on rambly and short. cx I'll most likely post it at 10 EST.
Goodnight, Velvee. <3

And There You Were . Oliver Hollingsworth
Let's just say that Oliver didn't ask for this. He knew that he didn't want to see these kids - orphaned children that were left on the dirty streets of China to die. These beautiful children that were abandoned day one by their parents. He came to China for one reason alone: spreading the world of God, of Jesus Christ the Savior. Volunteering at an orphanage was not on the calendar, and Oliver knew he would regret it. Looking into the eyes of every one of those children would make him feel like an outsider. What right would he have to appear into their life and disappear from it like everything else in their life? At fifteen years old the young Hollingsworth knew what he was about to do was not right.
Something about this day felt right, however, despite the facts that were presented. There was a gut feeling. Running a loose hand through a messy head of hair, Oliver couldn't help but ponder this gut feeling. His green gaze flickering around nervously the young teen entered the orphanage, parents talking to some lady at the door. The orphanage was not as bad as he suspected it would be. The lights in the room were dark but it was cozy, in an odd sort of way. Dark grey carpet blanketed the floor and the walls had a cream sort of color, or maybe they were white - it was hard to tell with such dim lighting.
Leading him to a series of cribs, a young Chinese lady picked up a child from a crib, folding him in a blanket before handing him to Oliver. Craddling the young child in his arms, he could see the little girl's eyes staring intently into his, this beautiful dark brown that stared curiously at him. This little girl probably never felt the constant love that he was raised in. Cooing softly, he smiled at the child, giving her a small kiss on the head. He didn't want to leave this little girl here. Eyes breaking away from the little girl's his eyes scanned the perimeter for his parents, wondering about what happened to these children if nobody adopted them. That's when he locked eyes with a girl. Craddling a baby, there was something about her that he knew. Maybe God was sending him a sign through her. Maybe God had a purpose for her. Pulling his eyes away from the girl, he turned back to the baby, bouncing her gently. He would talk to that other girl later.

(( Oh my gosh same! School is probably the most stressful thing to me. I actually went for a couple semesters to the local university and ended up dropping because I couldn't handle all the sudden stress and all the lack of sleep because I only wanted to study because classes are so expensive. I'm so excited now though because I'm planning to start going to a college an hour away to study for something I have a true passion over, art c: I'm going for a graphic design major and I'm just so excited! My cousin is one and she's the one who motivated me to go for something I love. At the university I was a meteorology major but I just realized that math was kicking my butt too much and I had to go to an undecided status because I just couldn't handle it >.< Bro history is the bomb! History, mythology, and science were always my favorite subjects back in highschool! <3 I know it's sad but sometimes I wish I could go back to high school xD It was so much easier...)) And There You Were -- Jiao Li Jiao was used to seeing strangers in the small orphanage that she called home. It seemed like at least once a week, someone would come as a volunteer to help with all the babies, or to adopt and give the child a wonderful life that many could only dream of. Being a Chinese orphan was hard. And honestly, that was saying it lightly. Adoptions usually included a foreigner, usually Americans, or even the rare Chinese couple who was unable to conceive or maybe lost their child to disease or a freak accident. What killed Jiao was her luck here. Babies were the ones to get adopted. Once a child got past the age of four or five, they usually were kicked away from adoptions and were called a lost cause. That, of course, was Jiao's luck. She almost got adopted once when she was six, but then someone else happened to come by and won the foster parents' hearts, and Jiao was sent back to her room with an empty heart. There was nothing more she wanted to get adopted. But now she was only days away from being kicked out. After all, she was almost fourteen, the age when children were deemed young adults and were no longer in need of a caretaker at an orphanage. Fear always woke Jiao up at night. What would happen when she hit the streets? Homeless, without a job, without anyone to lead her or help her? She was just clueless. But, while she wrapped up her stay in this place she had to call home, she took on the role of a caretaker herself for the younger children. As the oldest girl in the orphanage now, Jiao had been told that she was to help care for the babies and younger children. With her long black hair pulled back into a ponytail - one of the few ways to keep babies from pulling on her sensitive hair - Jiao walked into the nursery to help feed all the poor babies. It was near time for everyone to be up, but she always was one to wake up before everyone else to get a little free time. But that was always cut short by a crying baby or a child who wet the bed or had a bad dream. Right now Jiao was intent on aiding a newborn who was busy crying in his crib. Either he was hungry, had a dirty diaper, or most likely, both. Jiao hurried into the nursery and picked him up, bouncing him lightly to calm the child before she laid him down to check that donated diaper he wore. Everything they had were donations. From diapers to shirts and pants, even swimsuits in the summer were donated to them from a nearby school. As Jiao finished checking a rather soiled diaper, she changed it and picked up the baby again to go find a bottle. But she was cut short when she saw a strange family walk inside the nursery. From the looks of it and their accents, they were American, and her dark brown eyes could only stare at them as they made themselves busy with the children. Of course, go for the young ones who had years left here. THey were always the ones to go... Bitterness boiled in her veins. Honestly, it had come to the point where seeing a baby or young child get adopted made her furious. She wanted that so badly. But at the same time, she was glad that lucky child would never be in her position. With a small sigh Jiao just shook her head and reached for a nearby bottle in a cabinet. They never heated the bottles, since the caretakers say it's too much work to warm every bottle and it takes too much electricity to do so. Jiao gave it a small shake and made herself busy feeding the small lad. Aparently the shaking of the milk was appetizing, because now five babies were crying, which only made the older Chinese orphan cringe. Speak of the devil, one of the orphanage caretakers was storming over. She shouted something rude to Jiao in their native tongue of Mandarin Chinese, and Jiao just took it, knowing it was rude to talk back to them. She just continued to care for the baby while the other caretaker went to check on the others, mumbling rude words under her breath, a mixture of English and Chinese that just sounded like nonsense, with some curses thrown into the mixture.
