Fierce and Persistent | |
A New Dawn Will Always Come
You find yourself following a fiercely flowing river for days. Something is drawing you to the river's end - what could it possibly be? Your paws ache, your belly snarls in hunger, prey nearly nonexistent in the dead lands the two-legs had left behind. You had walked through all manner of sad things; the abandoned husks that were all that was left of two-leg nests, trees long dead from unforgiving fire, swaths of grass that were brown and dead that would never grow again. Very few places had been spared the wrath of the two-legs, the land scarred from their many battles, but at least it had stopped - many, many, many moons ago now. Before your grandfathers' grandfather was born, even, and the cats of today no longer remember the time when two-legs were plentiful, when monsters surged hungrily over the now faded and cracked thunderpaths, when cats were collared and held inside two-leg nests as pets.
As you followed the river, drawn by the slowly clearing water and the scent of new growth, though, you only thought of your roaring belly and the dull throbbing pain in your paws.
It's almost a full day later when you finally reach it - the base of the towering sea of mountains you'd been seeing for days now and you pause to look up at their snow-capped heights, amazed, and in your moment of inattentiveness the river surges and you're just barely too close, your paws swept out from under you by the sudden rush of icy water, too weak from your moon-long trek to cling to the riverbank. You struggle to keep your head above water, gasping for breath and choking on the freezing cold water rushing all around you, and you wonder - is this how you were going to die?
You struggle for what feels like seasons before something grasps at the scruff of your neck and the next thing you know you're coughing up water on a shore, your blurry vision seeing the vague shape of... something, hovering above you. "Please don't give up now!" A deep voice meows, and you struggle to comply - but you can't and your world fades to blackness, too tired to stay awake.
You wake up to the scent of herbs and cats - and your eyes fly open, scrabbling to stand up on shaking, weak legs only to be gently pressed down by a big, fluffy paw. "You're far too weak to be up and about," Purrs a slightly familiar voice - your ears pin back as you try to figure out why you recognize it and after a moment it hits you - the thing that had been hovering over you when you were pulled from the river! Finally you have a face to put with the voice.
It's a big, burly tomcat with black and gold fur, his yellow eyes kind and warm as he gazes down at you. You ask him where you are, exactly, your voice a hoarse rasp. His ears twitch, bushy tail sweeping slowly across the mossy ground as he responds. "Why, you're in Dawnclan, stranger. And quite lucky to be, too - if I hadn't been gathering herbs by Mother River when she swept you in, you'd likely be crow food right now." His yellow eyes slowly begin to travel away from you and towards what look to be alcoves full of different herbs, paws subtly kneading the moss beneath them.
"Mother river has trapped you here, though, I'm afraid. At least until New Leaf when she recedes, anyway. Our Leader has told me that you are welcome to stay until you are strong enough to leave to make your own way in the Caldera - or you can stay and become a permanent member." His eyes lock back onto you now, gaze serious.
"The choice is yours."

Welcome to Dawnclan!
First and foremost, I'd like to welcome you to this thread! I'm glad you've decided to check us out here! This is my very first created clan, so please bear with me. If you see any mistakes, please don't hesitate to say something! That being said, please make sure to read through at least the rules before deciding whether to join us or not! Rules
1. Literacy! I ask that you post at least 3 - 5 sentences per post, if only so that others have something to reply to. One sentence isn't enough! I do however understand shorter posts when deep in conversation, but remember you can always talk about how your cats are feeling! And, of course, proper spelling and grammar is a must IC! When speaking in OOC, text speak is fine. 2. No God-modding! Or power playing or anything like that. Try to keep it realistic! Your cats will be hurt and will eventually die, no cat is perfect, etc. 3. Be Active! Please try to post at least 3 or 4 times a week! If you disappear for 2 weeks, I'll send you a pm as a warning. Another week beyond that and your cats will be removed from the thread! If you come back later on and want to rejoin you may, but you will not be given the chance to hold positions of power. If you know you're going to be gone for some time, just let me know! Your cats will be put on hold while you're away. 4. Joining! If you decide Dawnclan is the clan for you, please check out the joining thread linked below! More details on the specifics of joining will be found there. It is also where forms are to be posted! Any forms posted in this thread will be gently redirected to the joining page with a reminder to please read the rules! 5. Forum rules of course apply. They're there for a reason, please don't break them! 6. No kit-anything! I don't know if anyone actually does this, but please don't kit-steal or what have you. 7. The current Leader will be the one who picks warrior names, and parents will be the ones to name their kits. You may suggest names in pm, but please don't be upset if they're not used! The secret password's first word is Darkest. 8. Realistic! While Dawnclan exists in a post-apocalyptic-like setting, not much about the cats have changed, so please do not give your cat purple fur, wings, laser eyes, or anything like that. Also remember that your cat, just like a person, isn't perfect! Give them some flaws! They're not completely horrible at everything, either, remember! 9. Please keep OOC chatter in ( ), [ ], or { }! This will help keep it separate from IC things and make it easier for people to figure out what's going on in your posts! 10. Make as many cats as you want! Just try to stick to only as many as you can comfortably and reliably play! 11. You may not join as a Queen (unless otherwise specified) or a kit unless you are adopting a kit to play from someone else's litter. The second word of the password is Before. 12. This Clan is LGBTQ+ friendly! Feel absolutely free to have your cats identify as whatever you want! Non-binary cats will be called 'two-cat's because I feel that cats wouldn't use the term non-binary. Remember that your cat's sexuality is not their entire character! 13. Be nice! This goes for OOC chat. Your cats may hate other cats, but keep it civil OOC. The last word of the password is Dawn. 14. Have fun! In the end, we're here to have fun rping as cool cats! So have fun! 15. No spamming or advertising here, please! If you'd like to advertise something related to Dawnclan, you can of course talk to me about it via pm! 16. Feel free to suggest plots, or even add your own smaller sub-plots! Want the patrol you're leading to be attacked by a fox? Want to have some forbidden kits with a Medicine cat or rogue? Go for it, as long as the others involved agree! Anything bigger - such as wolves in the area, flooding, etc, should be run by me first though, but chances are I'll be up for it!
JoiningTo join, click here! And don't forget to fill out the form you'll find there!
Ceremonies, Journeys and Traditions
Apprenticing ceremony: When a kit reaches 6 moons old and is healthy enough, the Leader will call the clan to gather around the Highroot where the kit will gain their -paw suffix and their mentor will be named. This ceremony will be put off if the kit in question is sick or injured or by other extenuating circumstances. The clan will chant the newly named apprentices' name in congratulations.
Medicine cat ceremony: When a Medicine cat feels their apprentice is ready, they will travel to the Starpool. It is here where the current medicine cat will give their apprentice their new suffix and their apprentice will first talk with Starclan.
Warrior ceremony: When a mentor is satisfied with the training of their apprentice, they will approach either the deputy or leader and request a test be held for their apprentice. This test will consist of hunting, sparring, or a combination of the two where the apprentice in question will be watched and judged by the deputy/leader or a warrior of their selection. Should the apprentice pass this test, the leader will call the clan to gather around the Highroot. This is where the leader will give the -paw their new suffix. The clan will chant the new warriors name.
New warrior's vigil: New warriors will sit at the base of the Highroot and keep silent vigil of the camp overnight when they are first named. When dawn raises, the deputy will come and let them know that they may speak and share tongues with the new warrior.
Warrior's retiring ceremony: When a warrior/medicine cat/queen either gains a career ending injury or simply gets too old to preform their duties, they will approach the leader or deputy and request to retire to the Elder's den. The leader will call the clan to gather around the Highroot where they will confirm the cat's wish to retire. After the cat confirms this, they will be thanked for their service and can officially join the elder's in their new den.
Deputy ceremony: When the previous deputy either dies, is exiled, retires, or becomes leader. The leader will call the clan to gather around the Highroot where they will name their new deputy. This can be postponed if the leader is unwell physically, mentally, or emotionally, though this is seen as a bad omen.
Name changing ceremony: Should a name no longer fit a cat, they may request a name change be preformed by the leader. The leader may also decide to do this on their own. The leader will call the clan to gather around the Highroot where they will preform the name change. The clan will chant the new name.
Leader ceremony: When the old leader dies, is exiled, etc, the current deputy will journey to the Starpool accompanied with the Medicine Cat to commune with Starclan. This is where they will gain the suffix -star as well as their nine lives. If the previous leader is dead, they will be the last cat to talk with the newly appointed leader, giving them the -star suffix.
Snowmelt Feast: When the first signs of the snow melting at the end of Leaf Bare occur, the Medicine cat / their apprentice will announce this to the Leader who will call for the rest of the clan to gather around the Highroot. To celebrate the end of Leaf Bare, they will all be sent off in pairs or trios to hunt themselves a meal - apprentices will be tasked with hunting for both themselves, the queens, kits, and elders, though their mentors will often help. Once every cat in the clan has something to eat, they will all gather around the Highroot to welcome the coming of New Leaf with a feast where all cats will relax, eat, and share tongues until sunset. This ceremony is only skipped in times of great peril; intense flooding, the death of a leader or medicine cat, fire, etc. The leader and their deputy will then sit vigil overnight to welcome the first coming dawn of New Leaf.
New Leaf's first dawn: Held the night of the Snowmelt Feast, the leader and deputy will sit silent vigil over camp to welcome the first dawn of New Leaf as a way of showing their devotion to Starclan and their duties. The rest of the clan is allowed to sleep in past dawn on this day. The Medicine cat will go and greet the leader after the sun has risen fully over the horizon, while their apprentice - should they have one at the time - will greet the deputy, ending their vigil. After this, the clan will return to functioning normally.
Green Leaf Fast: As the first new moon of Green Leaf occurs, the entire clan - excluding the sick, Queens, kits, and Elders if they choose - will not hunt new prey nor consume any caught the day before to honor nature and what it has given them. The fast will end when the moon rises in the sky again, and the warriors and apprentices will hunt under the moon to feed themselves and the clan.
Forgotten Marsh journey: At least once every season a small group of cats will journey from the clan's territory to gather important, rare herbs from the marsh across the Caldera. The journey often takes at least half a moon, sometimes longer, and will always have either the Medicine cat, their apprentice, or another medicine-cat-appointed cat that knows of the herbs in the marsh as part of it. Generally at least two warriors will accompany this cat, but up to five (during Leaf Bare when Coyote's are most dangerous) is not unusual.
Starpool journey: Once every season the Medicine cat will journey to the Starpool to commune with Starclan. This journey will take half a moon at best, sometimes longer depending on what, if anything, Starclan has to say to the Medicine cat. If the Medicine cat lacks an apprentice or their apprentice is not sufficiently trained to take over while they are gone, the Medicine cat may choose to forgo this trip until a suitable time.

Dawnclan's Caldera
Mother River The river that feeds the entirety of the Caldera, sustaining it's life. The river is sacred and it's main body is never hunted from by Dawnclan cats. During Late Green Leaf to early New Leaf it floods, cutting off the slim dirt path leading out of the Caldera. Lone Tree A lone, tall, very old oak tree that has somehow survived on the small island adjacent to Mother River and it's smaller offshoots. Tall Pines A very old evergreen forest often considered to be the entrance to the Dark Forest that is frequently covered in low-laying mist. It is only hunted on during very harsh Leaf Bares. Black Lake A medium lake with waters so deep the bottom is invisible, the waters so dark they appear to be as black as a crow's feathers. It's water is poisonous and any cat who drinks from it will surely die. Dead Place A section of the pine forest that has died off, likely due to the Black Lake's poisonous waters, though it hasn't spread in some time. Nothing grows here and prey is nearly nonexistent. Forgotten Marsh A large section of marshland rich in prey that floods terribly from late Green Leaf to early New Leaf. Patrols are sent to gather rare herbs here every few moons, including catmint. Dark Lake The largest lake in the Caldera, rich with fish. The waters near the center of the lake are very deep and dark, hence it's name. During cloudless, bright Green Leaf days, one can just barely see the bottom of the lake at it's center. Wolf Den The home of a small pack of wolves that travel through the mountains for Green Leaf. Extremely dangerous, cats are warned very early on that straying too far towards it may spell their doom. Bear Hills Rolling hills at the easternmost edge of the Hawkflight Moor that are home to many bears. Cats traveling through the Moor must be very careful and observant during Leaf Fall especially, when the Bears are more inclined to consume anything they can get their paws on. Hawkflight Moor A large swath of grassy moorland dotted by skinny aspens, oaks, and low laying brambles and thickets. Home to a lot of prey - everything from mice to rabbits call the Moor home. Hawks roost in the tall trees as well, calling the Moor home. Cats passing through the Moor must be very careful and pay attention to the sky as well as the ground, lest they be snatched up by a Hawk. Snake Hills Rolling, craggy and stone-covered hills home to many snakes. Generally avoided by cats. Coyote Dens Lower laying hills dotted by large boulders. Coyotes are often found here in small packs. Generally avoided by cats, though a few experienced warriors could take down a lone coyote found at the outskirts of the hills. Salt Pool A very round pool of extremely salty water. Not recommended for drinking, since the salty water will just make you thirstier. Crossing Rocks The shallowest point of the river that, even when the rivers flood, only comes up to a cats elbows. Generally used for crossing and is almost dry during Green Leaf. Dawnclan Camp A small meadow with a large, old, gnarled aspen tree at it's center that the Clan calls home. Tall Aspen Forest The majority of Dawnclan territory is made up of very tall aspen trees, the ground covered in countless ferns, berry bushes, and brambles, the entire area dotted with small meadows and streams. Rich in all sorts of prey - Squirrels, mice, beetles, small fish, and small birds are all common sights in the forest. Larger birds, snakes, and lizards are more uncommon. The occasional coyote also tries to make it's home here, but the Clan are quick to evict them as coyotes are known cat-eaters. Reed Lake The main source of water that feeds the streams criss-crossing the Aspen Forest during Green Leaf, Reed Lake is full of large fish, it's banks thickly coated by cattails, reeds, weeds, and brambles. Apprentices are sometimes brought here to learn how to fish and hunt the multitudes of frogs and small turtles. Freezes over thinly during Leaf Bare. Thick Oak Forest Across the Reed Lake the Aspens give way to tightly tangled oak trees, sunlight barely able to penetrate the thick leaf coverage. The grass is short and the trunks of the thick trees are coated in moss. Apprentices are shown across the Crossing Rocks to the nearest reaches of the Thick Oak Forest very early on in training so that they know where to best find useful moss. Prey is scarcer here, though with a bit of searching one could find squirrels, chipmunks, and mice easily enough. Rabbit Meadow The halfway point between Reed Lake and the Star Pool, this meadow is home to many rabbits and is a good place to hunt during harsher leaf bares, though it is further away then is optimal; travel from the camp to the meadow can take several days. Star Pool A shallow pond nestled into the base of a huge mountain almost a moon's travel from Dawnclan's camp where cats go to commune with Starclan, Leaders get their lives, and medicine cat apprentices become full medicine cats.
Dawnclan Territory
Dead Tree A sandy hollow with a large, charred black tree in the center. Many moons ago the tree was struck by lightning, which is why it's charred. The sandy ground is perfect for training and it is often used by mentors and apprentices because of this. Tall Rocks The massive cliffs to the westernmost edge of Dawnclan territory are the very edge of the Caldera. Their sides are sheer, making it nearly impossible to climb, and their tips are covered in snow year round. Sun Rock Meadow One of the bigger meadows in the aspen forest, the Sun Rock Meadow is home to many large, flat rocks often used by Dawnclan cats for sunning year-round, as their dark surfaces often get rather warm. Fox Den A Sparsely used fox den to the very southwestern edge of the territory. In particularly bad flood times, the den is almost completely underwater. Patrols are sent out throughout New Leaf and Green Leaf to check for foxes using the den. Deer Meadow One of the largest meadows in the forest, this swath of grass is often visited by deer from Leaf Fall to early New Leaf. They will not attack cats unless they come too close, so it is safe to watch them from a distance. Crossing Rocks Large boulders in the shallowest part of the river used to cross to the Thick Oak Forest or to the Moor. Slippery when it rains and during flood season, so cats must be wary. Reed Lake The edge of Reed Lake, covered in cattails, reeds, brambles, and bushes. Often visited by mentors and apprentices for catching fish, frogs, and turtles. Home to many useful herbs as well. Bramble Patch A thick patch of brambles hiding some rarer herbs and valuable moss underneath. Snakes also call the bramble patch home, so cats coming to collect herbs or moss must be very careful where they walk. Little Pond A small pond nearer to the camp then the river or lake, often visited by queens and elders for a drink. The banks of the small pond are sandy and warm, perfect for relaxing, and mice, squirrels, chipmunks and small birds are a common sight.
Dawnclan Camp A spacious, though small, meadow with a large, old, gnarled aspen tree in the center of it. The old aspen's roots arch up out of the ground, creating a deep hollow underneath and a suitable place to sit. The camp is round, the thin trees surrounding the small meadow are closer together then in most of the forest, thick brambles and nettles create a strong barrier between the forest and the camp. The camp's entrance is hidden between two slightly farther apart brambles, the cats of the clan taught early on how to safely enter and exit the camp, though those with longer fur still sometimes get stuck in the clingy barbs.
Leader's Den Situated directly behind the old aspen, the leader's den is a very small hollow between two closely grown aspens surrounded by thick ferns and brambles. It's large enough inside to fit three or four cats, possibly more if they're smaller. Medicine Cat Den Situated slightly behind and to the left of the Leader Den, the Medicine cat's Den is a slight dip in the ground covered by large leaf ferns and brambles, a fallen tree making up the back of the den. The old tree is cracked in several places, it's bark splitting apart into nice places to store herbs. The floor of the den is very soft and mossy, perfect for resting sick or injured cats. The Medicine Cat and their apprentice sleep nearest the herb stores around a slight bend in the hollow. Elder's Den To the left and down some from the Medicine Den is the Elder Den, a deeper furrow in the ground marked by a large white boulder. The bolder is partially hollow, providing a good place to sleep in Leaf Bare, though it is generally too warm inside during Green Leaf and New Leaf. During those seasons Elders generally sleep in the hollow itself, sheltered by the tightly packed, leafy ferns. Apprentice Den A medium-large den situated under a very large bush, smaller brambles making up the sides of it, directly below the Elder Den and nearest to the entrance to the camp. There's enough room for up to 8 or 9, possibly even 10 apprentices at once. Nursery The Nursery, located between the Leader's Den and Warriors Den, is in a similar hollow to the Medicine den but more densely covered by ferns, brambles, and branches to make it near impenetrable. The dirt here is very soft and springy and moss nests are a very common sight. Warrior's Den The largest den in the camp, the Warrior's den is located slightly in front of the Nursery and spans almost to the entrance of the camp. It's made up of mostly large bramble bushes, thick ferns, and fallen logs. Senior warriors make their nest closest to the bases of the bushes where it's warmest, while newer warriors tend to nest closer to the walls of the den where it can get slightly drafty. Highroot The tallest root of the old aspen tree where the Leader will sit and hold clan meetings. Herb Hollow A section of the space under the old aspen has been turned into storage for surplus herbs and is sometimes, in times of great disaster, used to house sick or injured cats. It is a wide, long space that is kept very dry and warm. Fresh-Kill Pile The Fresh-kill Pile is located just under the old aspen's outermost roots on the right side, near the warrior den, where the fresh-kill is mostly sheltered from the weather.

History In the beginning, before there were clans and order, the Caldera was an unforgiving, harsh place. Many of all ages died and suffered in the harshness of the land. The Mother River claimed many, many lives of unwary and untrained cats all on her own. The suffering hurt Starclan deeply and they wished fervently for some way to help the cats - and eventually, they found a way. In the form of a prophecy, they sent a message to a young she-cat who would listen.
Minnows Silver and Lake's Blue will lead the way. The stars shimmer in their hearts and minds; the stars will guide their paws.
The she-cat was eager to listen and sought out the cats Starclan had prophesied. It took her many moons, but finally, find them she did. Minnow's silver came in the form of a long, thin, silver tabby tomcat by the name of Silver. He came to her himself - swimming swiftly through the powerful currents of the Mother River, he had pulled her ashore and saved her life. When she had recovered from the ordeal, she told him of the prophecy. Silver had accepted it easily, promising to help the she-cat find the Lake's Blue.
Lake's Blue came to them in the form of a calico she-cat caring for her two young kits. Her name was Willow and she was fierce, determined, holding out nearly a moon before finally agreeing to come with them as long as they would help her raise her kits safely. Together, they traveled across Hawkflight Moor and into the Thick Oak Forest, the journey too harsh for the smaller of Willows two kits. The loss hit the calico hard and she nearly decided the journey wasn't worth it - but the elder kit, Larchkit, told her with conviction and certainty that they had to finish the journey.
The four cats finally made it to the Starpool. The moon was full and high in the sky as the cats gathered around the water, conversing, wondering what it was they were to do - but Silver simply bent his head towards the water, gently touching his nose to it's surface.
When he awoke he was being worried over by a frantic Willow and Larchkit. He was quick to reassure them; he had simply visited with Starclan, who had gifted the young tom with nine lives for which... For which to lead a Clan. He explained in a daze what the cats of Starclan had told him and by the end of it all, the four cats all sat in silence, pondering the information they'd been given.
Willow was first to speak up, her meow tentative as she suggested they name the clan after Silver - Silverstar, she corrected quickly, not used to the title - but she was shot down quickly. Silverstar's eyes found the small russet tabby who had lead them here and when he spoke, it was with conviction. The clan would be named after it's creator - Dawn. In the same breath he named her Dawnheart, for it was her heart that had guided her to listen to Starclan and bring them together. For Willow, he named her Willowclaw, after her tenacity and ferocity.
They traveled far from the Starpool, searching for the best place to set up a camp, and soon came upon a sapling aspen in a small meadow near the western edge of the Caldera. The trees grew close here and the brambles were thick, the ground perfect for, hopefully, many many generations of cats to come.
They worked day and night, Larchkit - now named Larchpaw - helping where the small tom could to reinforce the meadow and make it safe for them and their future clan. Exhausted from the work, hungry, and dirty, Silverstar sat before the aspen sapling and named Willowclaw his deputy, for he could think of no other cat so suitable for the position, and Dawnheart took the position of Medicine cat, having had knowledge of healing herbs from her mother.
Many cats came and went from Dawnclan over time, and with them went Silverstars lives. The first was lost to a fox which tried to raid the nursery, the second to a terrible Leaf Bare greencough. The third went to a wolf attack when he had tried to visit the Starpool, the fourth to a flash flood, the fifth to a traitor cat. The sixth life was when Willowclaw was lost to greencough and Silverstar, in his grief, refused to let Dawnheart help treat his own in favor of helping to bury his old, fiery friend, barely managing to name Larchtail his new Deputy in time and losing the life to the sickness soon after. His seventh life went to a snake bite and his eighth to starvation. His last life was taken peacefully in his sleep at well over a hundred moons old.
Many seasons have passed since Silverstar, Willowclaw, Larchtail and Dawnheart, but their legacies remain in each generation of cats born into the clan who hear the tale of how Dawnclan came to be.

Characters
Leader | Oakstar | 36 Moons | She-Cat | Bi | Open for a mate | 6 lives left Oakstar is a long-furred, light brown she-cat with faint, darker brown tabby stripes and a white-cream chin. Her eyes are a duller shade of yellow-green. Her fur is thickest nearest her body and very thin and wispy at the ends, making it easy for her to get caught on brambles and briars. A strong willed, outspoken cat who isn't afraid to stand up against any threat or challenge. She is a strict, rigid follower of the Warrior code and her trust in Starclan is absolute. The loss of her previous deputy to the river has hit her hard, however, and her decision regarding the new one has been very much so delayed because of it. She has a major soft spot for kits and has a love for frogs that's unmatched. (Mutt)
| Deputy | Hollybright | 45 moons | She-Cat | Lesbian | Open for mate/crush Hollybright is a silver tabby she-cat with a white chest and paws, and big yellow eyes. She has long but sleek fur that ruffles around her neck and hindquarters, and plumes out her tail and ears. Hollybright has a positive outlook, even with the negative standing right in her face. She's very empathic, and sees both sides of any situation, hoping to fix problems with the least amount of pain. She loves to socialize and be friendly, but also knows when to be serious. (nissabug) Apprentice: Nightpaw | Medicine Cat
| Bearcloud | 44 moons | Tom | Ace A huge, burly tom cat with more fur then he knows what to do with. He's thick-set and stocky with large paws and a shorter then average, very bushy tail. His fur is mostly black with a golden-brown underbelly and chest. His eyes are a clear, bright yellow. He has an intense love of his job, enjoying being able to help heal the sick and injured, and is very passionate about herbs and Starclan. He often gets lost in thought, going over the herb stores in his head even in the middle of conversations or treating cats. Many see him as almost a father figure by the way he dotes and cares for all of the clan members. He has no desire to fight anyone, ever, and freezes in the face of predators and danger in general. Something of a scaredy-mouse, you could say. (Mutt)
| Medicine Cat
Apprentice | Wrenpaw | 7 moons | Tom | Gay | Open for mate/crush Wrenpaw is a brown and ginger mottled tabby, with a pale chest and markings along his flank. He has very long fur that tends to grow down instead of out, which he sees as a good thing, and green eyes. Wrenpaw is passionate in anything he does, especially healing, and has a fighting spirit that'll push anyone through their illness or injury. He's also very excitable and tends to be stubborn if not paid attention to. Many cats thought he would put this energy to being a warrior instead, but he loves taking care of others, as he has a big heart, despite enjoying showing off. (nissabug)
| Warriors | Applescent | 22 Moons | She-cat | Straight | Open for mate or crush Applescent is a dark ginger tabby she-cat with soft, almond shaped green eyes. She has cream-white fur on her muzzle, chest, stomach, and tail tip. Her fur is thick but short, giving it a soft or plush feel to it. Applescent is a friendly but emotional she-cat at times, she loves her friends and kin and would do anything to help or protect them. She has some self doubt problems, which make her second guess herself in some situations. She's nervous around toms but still dreams of having a mate and kits someday. (~Cherry Red Panda~)
Batnose | 65 moons | male | bisexual | Open for a mate, but not looking Batnose has big ears and a narrow face (think oriental cat) and sleek. He has a whip-like tail and dainty paws. He is tall with forward facing ears and a long face. He has yellow eyes and white on his chin and the tip of his tail. Batnose is a very sociable cat and knows most of what goes on in the clan. He is always in other cat's business and isn't very secretive. With that, he always has a story to tell, usually of his own adventures, and uses the information that he has to help solve problems. He isn't just a gossip, though he likes to, he also cares for the others in the clan. He is wise and kind but he's also a little stern and doesn't understand the younger cats all the time. He can be a stickler for the rules. (lavenderwing)
Birchtail | 26 Moons | Male | Bisexual | Open for mate Birchtail is an orange tabby Tom with deep amber eyes. He has short fur, though it is thick and warm.
He's a serious and stoic cat, determined to always do what's best for the clan. He is fiercely protective of his clan members, kits in particular, though he knows how to keep a cool head the majority of the time. While he doesn't lose his patience easily with his clan, it is easy for him to be irritated with or even outright hostile towards outsiders.
He would like a mate one day, would like to be a father one day, but not until everything with his clan is settled and their leader is at peace. He simply cannot think of romance when the clan itself is weakened. (Kraai)
Blackfang | 42 Moons | Tom | Heterosexual | Open for mate. (Glances at Darkberry from time to time) A tall, muscular black tom dappled with red and orange throughout his medium length fur. He holds a tall height to him as well. His eyes are a faded, pale yellow. He has a sharp wit about him and can be quite rude and snippy when antagonize too much. Despite his intimidating demeanor, he's great at strategizing. He fights with not only his strength, but with his mind as well. He is a bit distant with most cats, yet fiercely loyal and protective with his clan. He's normally quite quiet and level headed. Despite being quite calm, he had an awkward side to him, only shown around kits and she-cats, as he grows uncomfortable and secretly fears he may scar them or mess up something. He finds he has a soft spot for weak cats. His father and mother, Shadowfur and Pondwhisper, died when he was just an apprentice due to old age. He has an Elder sister by the name of Boneeye. (Blackfeather)
Boneeye | 73 Moons | She-cat | Bisexual | Open for mate | (Wishes to be a Queen before becoming an Elder soon) A very pleasant black female with white feathering her fur and hazel eyes. She's quite sleek and lithe. She's quite bold and eccentric, usually being a bit of an annoyance. She is an agile fighter, relying on her flexibility and swiftness. She is fiercely loyal and mothering to other cats. At times she's quite aggressive with her mothering, making her a bit scary at times. She nags male's and usually strays from other female's at times due to discomfort. She acts a bit masculine at times and loves to rough house with other members. She acts more like a kit than an experienced warrior. Her father and mother, Shadowfur and Pondwhisper, died of old age a few moons after her younger brother, Shadowfang, became an apprentice long ago. (Blackfeather)
Crowstalker | 27 moons | Male | Heteroflexible | Single A slender, pure black tom with a sleek, shiny coat and soft green eyes. His body proportions are rather lanky, with long legs, body and tail. His ears are much larger than average, and his face tapers down into an oriental point. Crowstalker is a bit of an aloof character. He has some social ineptness, downright anxious at worst but simply awkward at best. Most of the time you will find him by himself, as it is when he feels most comfortable. His favorite things to do are hunting, solo walks through the forest, climbing trees, and picking flowers for the medicine cats. He knows he's not the most boisterous or fearless warrior, but he's learned to accept that, and he's happy just the way he is. (echoliqht )
Darkberry | 27 moons | She-Cat| Bisexual | Open for mate Darkberry is a mostly black she-cat with white paws, chest, and tail tip. She's very small and petite, and walks with the lightest pawsteps. She has soft green eyes. Darkberry is a gentle, kind soul who doesn't prefer to talk unless she needs to or is told to. She wants to make more friends, she's just very anxious talking to others. She prefers hunting over fighting, and would even like to have kits someday, but that doesn't mean she can't defend herself in a fight. (nissabug) Apprentice: Jaypaw
Emberstep | 23 moons | She-cat | Straight | Open for a mate A smaller, sleek, mostly black tabby with splotches of russet fur along her back, sides, and tail. Her eyes are a very pale green. She has a small scar on the back of her neck from a fox attack a few moons ago. Emberstep is a very brave, loud she-cat who isnt afraid to stand up for what she believes in - no matter if it's something as big as a traitor in their midst, or as little as whether frog or minnow tastes better. Bold and daring to the point of being reckless, she's not afraid to test her limits and that of her clan's and has dreams of being leader someday. Whether or not Oakstar will let this happen is anyone's guess, however. (Mutt) Apprentice: Canyonpaw
Icepetal | 18 moons | Female | Unsure/Questioning | Single A large, long-haired, fluffy white she-cat with a silver chest, paws, and tailtip. She has a silver splash on her snout, and a stripe that goes down her spine to the base of her tail. She has small pink-fleshed ears, a tiny pink nose, and the prettiest icy-blue eyes. Icepetal is a friend to all, liking to make others smile and feel happy. She isn't easily offended, but she can become a live wire if you do anything to hurt her friends, so watch out! Icepetal is very sociable and the most comfortable when she has her peers around, for she tends to get lonely rather easily. (echoliqht )
Larchtail | 24 moons | Male | Straight | Open for mate Larchtail is a tall, strong, grey and white tom cat with spiky fur and a large ruff around his neck. He has sharp yellow eyes and a thin scar on his muzzle. Larchtail is determined to become the next best thing in DawnClan history; sick as a kitten, he spent a lot of time listening to old stories, and, being named after a character in the Clan's founding tale, he believed that it was meant to be. Now, strong, cocky and reckless, he leaps into danger without a second thought, and spends all of his available time training and waiting for a prophecy to come to him. Overall, Larchtail is not a bad cat -along with his impossible dream he can be quite charming, witty, and fun to be around, and is a very loyal and hard working warrior. (raisinsnotspaghetti ) Apprentice: Archpaw
Mistpetal | 24 moons | she-cat | Pansexual | Open for a mate, but not the main priority Mistpetal is a small, yet fluffy she-cat. Her pelt is a grey, but her paws are all black. Her eyes are a bright blue. Her tail is somewhat fluffy, with pitch black fur.
Mistpetal is very skiddish, but the level of it can change from day to day. One day she could be startled by a snapping branch, the next she could be startled by a falling leaf, that is, if she's not paying attention. Mistpetal is also very shy. She's not easily social, but can be around cats she's known for a long time, and speaks to frequently. Mistpetal is also quite good at hunting, as when she gets focused, she specifically focuses on what she's doing, and not much of anything else. (lilyquill)
Owlheart | 30 moons | Two-cat | Pan Owlheart is a smaller, lithe cat with long, wiry fur. Their tail is jet black, the rest of their fur a light brown with a white belly and chin and a few scattered darker brown tabby stripes. They're a quiet, stealthy cat who often slinks in and out of camp without anyone noticing around dawn or dusk to hunt. They are Oakstar's only remaining sibling, the rest killed by greencough early in their kithood. When in a dangerous situation, they will often choose flight over fight, unconfident in their ability to fight by themselves. When with other clan mates, however, they are a vicious opponent and will do their best to protect their clan. Generally thought of as very shy and skittish, though really they're just not incredibly talkative. Is an excellent fisher and often brings frogs to Oakstar when they hunt by the lake, knowing they're her favorites. (Mutt)
Riversplash | 40 Moons | Tom | Bisexual | Open to mate or crush Riversplash is a silver, and dark gray spotted tabby tom with sky blue eyes. He has white fur on his chest, stomach, front and back toes, and tail tip. His fur shiny and feels sleek, this could be because of his love of swimming and water in general. He was born with webbed toes and made his legs stronger from swimming so much as an apprentice. Riversplash is a very calm and laid back cat, preferring to use words over claws any day. He isn't a push over though, and wont hesitate to defend his clan in needed. (~Cherry Red Panda~) Apprentice: Cloudpaw
Sandytail | 30 moons | Male | Bisexual | VERY Open for mate Sandytail is a big ginger marbled tabby tom with amber eyes. He has long fur and a bobbed tail that he's had from birth. His ears are tall and he has a lighter colored mane. He has a light pink nose. In one word, Sandytail's personality is dad. He likes to make jokes (he lies about the origins of his short tail) and often takes young cats under his metaphorical wing. He is also a very flirty guy but he means the best and has a big heart. He's a goofball, but he still takes his job seriously and will protect the clan no matter what. He sometimes doesn't know when to be serious. (lavenderwing)
Sheeptuft | 24 moons | Cis she-cat | Bisexual | open for mate, has crush on Emberstep Sheeptuft is a shorter -than -average she -cat with white, curly fur and light creamy patches on her paws and the tip of her minute tail. Her eyes bright green eyes are wide and friendly.
Sheeptuft is a friendly and easy to get along with cat, eager to please and nice to be around. She's a great teamplayer in the aspect of the fact that she will happily go along with anything her clanmates said, but she never offers ideas of her own, preferring to follow the herd, so to speak. Sheeptuft spent a lot of her childhood being told by her mother, who never wanted kits, that she was too stupid to think for herself, and effectively ruined Sheeptuft's confidence. While Sheeptuft never unlearned it, and it shows through as she refuses to try new things and often copies other cats to avoid getting things wrong, she can hunt and fight well enough to be a warrior. However, she is constantly fearing failure, even though she tries to bottle up negative emotions to spare burdening her clan mates with her fears. She feels, to some extent, that all of her clanmates are her friends in some way, shape, or form, and tries to overly nice to everyone, and that includes making sure she's not weighing them down by being sad. (yetirasins)
Spiderfoot | 40 Moons | Male | Heterosexual | Open For Mate Spiderfoot is a long-legged, lanky and skinny tom who constantly looks underfed. He has a black pelt with golden-brown tabby splotches here and there, and his eyes are the same golden-brown colour as the few splotches on his body. His tail is long like his legs, and his ears are also massive. He has a slight underbite, with his two canine teeth sticking out, which he constantly tries to fix (whilst failing miserably at doing so.)
Spiderfoot is a boisterous, proud tom, with an impossible to knock down self-esteem. He is the definition of what it means to be confident in yourself, but he comes off much more egotistical and annoying. He is also known to be quite smooth, at least to himself, and would never miss an opportunity to flirt, regardless of whether he is actually genuinely attracted to the cat he's flirting with. Spiderfoot is slightly irrational and quick-reacting, not thinking about the situation or his possible ways of dealing with it, preferring to jump into something and go with the flow. This leads to him getting into stupid situations, as he refused to think through what he was doing. He's an awful strategist, is what I'm saying. However, Spiderfoot is compassionate and loving to those around him, and he doesn't understand how some cats feel bad about themselves. He's known to practically yell encouragement at those around him, because he doesn't see why everyone else can't be just like him regarding self-confidence. This is a bit of a two-sided sword however, as most either love this quality or despise it. (DNACat)
Trapjaw | 24 Moons | Tom | Pansexual | Crushes on Oakstar A tall, lean, orange tabby tom with hazel eyes and a white chest and belly. He has a knick in his right ear and only one fang. He's quite the rugged Tom with a bit of a smart mouth to him. Trapjaw may run himself into he ground with his own mouth at times. He's quite a nomadic male who doesn't prefer to keep in on place for too long. He gets impatient and may wander from the clan on short journeys for days. He's a very flirtatious male and has been since birth. As a kit, he'd try and woo the ladies, or feminine gentlemen, even taking a shot at Owlheart before. Yet, he enjoys pestering Oakstar the most, and that earned him the name Trapjaw. He's quite the romantic, but when it comes down to it, he's a big ball of awkward orange fluff. Yet, his comedic behavior doesn't mean he isn't battle ready. He has plenty of experiences with larger predators. He's not the nicest Tom to know at times, but more of a defensive front. He's not too sociable or friendly, but secretly fears being around kits and queens, as hes so large. (Blackfeather)
Widowfang | 27 Moons | She-cat | straight | Open to mate or crush Widowfang is a sleek black furred she-cat with piercing yellow eyes. She has long, limber legs making her agile in battle and quick during a chase. She has a few cuts along her ears and a small scar on the right side of her chest, one of her small fangs tends to poke out from her upper lip. Widowfang has a tendency to be sneaky and 'bend' the rules whenever she can, to cats she's friends or kin with she's a sweetheart and a protector, but to those outside her circle she's seen as trouble making gossip. (~Cherry Red Panda~)
Wolffeather | 17 moons | Cis she-cat | bisexual | Open for a crush in the future Small-framed white she-cat with wide yellow eyes and large ears, with faint pale cream markings appearing as a small face mask with the barest hint of darker tabby stripes, a darker colored dipped tail, and pale cream tinting on her front legs and ears. Wolffeather is a good natured and friendly she-cat, although somewhat distant from her Clan. Prone to absentness and wandering, Wolffeather tends to be on her own, and while she has no difficulties making friends, she does struggle to keep them as she rarely makes an effort to talk to her clanmates. At this point, she feels so guilty for avoiding her clanmates that she avoids them more so she doesn't have to explain herself. She often uses her time by herself to hunt, and, as her favorite passtime, to watch deer. Wolffeather has a fixation on deer, and is completely fascinated with them -if she could, she'd become a deer, in fact. (raisinsnotspaghetti )
| Apprentices |
Archpaw | 6 Moons | She-Cat | Heterosexual | Open for mate | (May pursue the role of leader) A small, milky white she-cat with pale green eyes. Light creme and silver speckles dapple her back. She has been de-clawed, but her fangs work well enough. She has medium length fur and can seem quite thin, despite being perfectly healthy. Her paws are ridiculously soft and her nose is a pale pink. Archpaw, a very soft spoken cat, holds a place in her heart for the forest. She adores watching the stars at night. In confrontation, she finds herself more on the defense instead of the offense. She is quite a quick-thinker in battle, and it helps when she can't defend herself with claws. She's fiercely loyal to her brother, Archpaw, and no matter what, will stick by his side. Yet, she believes there is good in everyone and everything, leading her to be too trusting at times. Yet, she holds immense leadership qualities and curiosity that can get her into trouble at times. After the death of her mother, Duchess, she led her and her brother, Canyonpaw, towards the clan cats in search of their clan-blooded father and a home. Her name prior to joining the clan was Crystal. (Blackfeather)
Canyonpaw | 12 Moons | Tom | Heterosexual | Open for mate | (Wishes to be deputy someday) A muscular brown tom with creme paws and black speckles on his back. A black stripe leads from the end of his tail, along his spine, to the bridge of his nose. His tail is pure black. His eyes are a vibrant yellow. Canyonpaw is a very gruff individual. He's rude, sarcastic, uncooperative, and can be quite mean, especially to she-cats. Yet, under this troubling exterior is an awkward cat with a bit of dependency on his sister. He's usually the brain to his sister's brains and will willingly fight for her. Although, had fight anyone willingly if they deserved it in his opinion. He's quite protective of his sister, even though he'll never admit it aloud, and is a bit bossy when it really comes down to it. He has very little patience. He came as a loner, lead by his sister, Archpaw, to Dawnclan. His mother was a loner named Duchess whom died, and supposed his father was a clan cat. His name previous to joining the clan was Owen. (Blackfeather)
Cloudpaw | 6 moons | Male | Bisexual | Open for a mate when he's old enough Cloudpaw is the oldest of kit from Rainsong's last litter. He is an all white cat with light grey tips on his muzzle, ears, paws, and tail with ice blue eyes.
He'd been a mischievous kit, often sneaking out of the nursery if his mother wasn't keeping a careful eye on him, which would sometimes lead him into trouble. The one time he'd managed to leave camp as a kit, a fox nearly got him, leaving him with scars down his side. He is lucky the warrior patrol found him when they did, or else he would have died that day.
After that ordeal, he's now a much better apprentice since he's learned his lesson, determined to be the best warrior he can be to make his mother and his clan proud. His overzealousness at times can however still lead him into trouble, as he still has a habit of doing first and asking questions later. (Kraai)
Jaypaw | 6 moons | Male | Gay | crush on Wrenpaw Jaypaw is a small light gray tabby cat with white paws. His fur is medium length, and soft. He has light blue eyes and a dark gray nose. He has a white patch on his chest. He is gentle-hearted and tries his best to be brave but he's still young, so he's easily frightened. He is quiet but he still seems to make friends easily. When he gets scared he can be more snappy but he doesn't mean anything by what he says. He is easily impressionable but not easily fooled. (lavenderwing)
Nightpaw | 6 moons | Female | Straight Nightpaw is a hyperactive little kitten. She loves to chase leaves and moths around the camp and watch the apprentices train, however, she is not good at staying focused and is too gentle.. She is black with a scar above her left shoulder and has blue eyes. She has no family in the clan and was found in the winter bleeding and alone. (Nightshadows)
| Queens | Open! Max 2 can join right now! (1/2)
Rainsong | 23 moons | Female | Pan | Open for a mate Rainsong is a long-furred cat with a dark brown face and ocean blue eyes, much like a Siamese or Birman cat. She wandered into the clan moons ago as a young rogue after her mother was killed by stray dogs. She ran away that day as Rain, eventually finding her way to Dawnclan where she was taken in as Rainpaw, and now Rainsong. While she would never leave her clan, she often wonders what happened to her siblings, losing herself to the thought of them and missing them dearly.
Rainsong is a picky lover, preferring to have casual affairs with passing rogues because she is unwilling to commit to any cat until she finds someone she deems worthy of committing to. She is a devoted and protective mother, however, determined to be there for her kits since she knew what it was like to face the world without a parent. However, she can sometimes be seen as overbearing in their eyes since she never leaves them alone for long, even long after they've left the nursery. She is loyal to her clan, willing to give her life for it if need be. It's the only thing she can do for the cats that took her in. (Kraai)
| Kits | None yet! | Elders | Pinefoot | 120 moons | cis female| straight | Open for mate Pinefoot is an average sized, brown tabby she -cat with spiky fur and an impressive neck ruff. She has yellow eyes and a permanent scowl, and is covered in scars from years of being a warrior. Pinefoot is a hard cat to get along with -cynical and proud, and not above petty revenge, it was practically a relief when she decided to retire. Once a great warrior, she grew bitter after being forced to raise three unplanned litters, only the last of which had any surviving kits, feeling that her warrior days were stolen from her. Her abandoned hopes and dreams rest on the shoulders of her children as she aggressively 'encourages' them to be better than they are, and then relentlessly insulting them when they can't. Willowclaw | 45 moons | She-cat A fiery calico with deep blue eyes. The very first deputy of Dawnclan. (Npc, play as needed)
Dawnheart | 60 moons | She-cat A small russet tabby cat with medium-long fur and yellow eyes. The first Medicine cat of Dawnclan and who it's named after. (Npc, play as needed)
Larchstar | 71 moons | Tom Calico tom cat that was the second leader of Dawnclan and Willowclaw's only surviving kit. (Npc, play as needed)
Lilywhisker | 34 moons | She-cat Calico she-cat with pale green eyes. Was Oakstar's previous deputy. (Npc, play as needed)
Featherpaw | 9 moons | Cis she -cat | Questioning Featherpaw was a long -furred golden she -cat with mackeral tabby markings and a long, feathery tail. She had deep blue eyes and a bright smile. Featherpaw was a creative and easily distracted she -cat, sometimes acting more like a kit than an apprentice. She loved to play and make up stories about the random things around her, and whichever cat was next to her often got to hear the story of how the mouse in the bushes was in love with the bluejay in the tree or the brand new idea for how moss was created -it was often her sister, Wolfpaw, of whom Featherpaw was very close to. Featherpaw, admittedly, was never the best warrior, and probably would've been a better medicine cat apprentice, based on the amount of time she spent scaring prey and chattering instead of tussling during battle training. Sometimes, her imagination got her in trouble -on the last day of her life, she wandered away during a hunting patrol, wanting to collect twigs to make a toy cat for the kits to play with, and climbed up a tree to break them from their branches. As she was imraptured by a birds nest, she failed to notice the branch she was standing on was weakened with age, blackened, and breaking. She plunged to the ground and struck her head on a rock. She was found a few hours later, with the twigs still held tightly within her paws.
Fernpaw | 10 moons | Tom | Bisexual A sleek -furred white tom cat with grey markings on his ears, paws, and face, as well as a sleek dipped grey tail. He had wide golden eyes, and a skinny frame. Fernpaw was an anxious, eager -to -please and eager -to -learn apprentice. He had a poor immune system ever since he was sick as a kit, worsened after his mother Sunshine swam him through the Mother River when he was a still an infant, and while he was hardly truly sick, he got tired easily and couldn't train as much as his sisters Wolfpaw and Featherpaw. He often felt like a burden and tried to work extra hard to catch up with his siblings, but only got even more tired and weak in the process. When taking breaks from training, he often spent time with the elders, nursury queens, and, as much as he could, his mother, Sunshine. Fernpaw was a mama's boy from StarClan itself, and he desperately wanted Sunshine to be impressed with him. After Featherpaw's death, Fernpaw felt encourged to work harder to try and fill the gap Featherpaw had left, but began to feel more tired and started to lose his appeditite, but still insisted on working. Only two weeks after Featherpaw's death, his heart gave out, weakened from his sicknesses as a kit and never truly healing, he collapsed to his knees was hunting a squirrel with Wolfpaw, and died suddenly as she tried to bring him back to camp. (raisinsnotspaghetti )
Sunshine | 36 moons | Cis female | Cis she -cat | Poly pansexual
Sunshine was a sleek furred white she -cat with golden markings and a feathery tail. Her golden markings appeared as a bold facial mask, as well as golden ears, paws, and dipped tail, matching her bright golden eyes.
Sunshine, before joining DawnClan, was a rogue who lived with her mate, Wolf, and had tried and failed to raise two litters, and at the birth of her last three, she painfully carried each across the Mother River to bring to DawnClan for a better life. Despite refusing to take a warrior name, Sunshine had no struggles making friends, as she was compassionate, loving and playful, and often spent time around the Nursery, even after her kits were apprenticed. When she was happy, Sunshine was a lovely cat to be around, but her tendency feel every emotion intensely sometimes made her hard to work with -when she was happy, she was singing with joy, but at the same time she was never just sad or anger, only absolutely miserable or extremely furious. Similarly, the love that she felt for her kits was intense, and when two of her kits died, she was completely devastated. Only a few days after the death of Fernpaw she was found drowned in the Mother River. It was uncertain whether it was a slip or a jump. (raisinsnotspaghetti )
| Gorsefoot | 52 moons | Tom Light brown tabby tom cat with darker brown stripes and yellow eyes. Tried to destroy Dawnclan and took one of Silverstars' lives. (Npc, play as needed)
Shadowfur | 140 Moons | Tom A black tom with red lining his underpass and muzzle, and sickly yellow eyes. Dark grey stripes linsed his back. He was one of the first to try an assassinate a leader of the clan. Died of old age after being in hiding. (blackfeather)
Pondwhisper | 120 Moons | Two-cat A sleek, thin, silver and white cat with pale green eyes. White coated their underbelly and ringed their tail. Speckles flecked across their back. A kit killer whom ran away after being caught. Died of old age while in hiding. (blackfeather)
Duchess | 80 Moons | She-cat A brown, sleek female with darker brown stripes and speckles. She had hazel eyes and many scarfs around her underbelly. She holds a deep hatred for clan cats, and has tried to kill a few who wandered on multiple occasions. She died of starvation. (blackfeather)

{{ Posting starters for all my characters!! I am excited to RP!! Also, Mutt, should I make Wolffeather's dead siblings a form? I noticed you had a StarClan section, so I wasn't sure if you might want to add them there. }}
Wolffeather - Deer Meadow - alone
Wolffeather sat perched on the overhanging branch of a tree over-looking Deer Meadow. It was Leaf -Fall, a season she enjoyed not for the annoyingly cold wind or the vibrant colors of the leaves, but the fact that deer often came to visit DawnClan's very own territory, meaning that she got to watch them. Currently, she hadn't spotted a single deer, but she was sure that they would come soon. She had visited the Deer Meadow every day since the beginning of Leaf -Fall, and was starting to get antsy, but wasn't willing to come down from her tree to move. She wanted to be there when the first deer poked their head into the Meadow, and she certainly didn't need any distractions. She was glad that the Meadow was so quiet, empty of cats, prey, and, hopefully for not much longer, deer.
Larchtail -Camp - alone
Larchtail was pacing camp and ready to start the day. The biggest problem with having no deputy was that there was no cat to send out patrols, and Larchtail wasn't one to want to leave camp alone; after all, if he did something amazing, no cat would be there to see it! Secondly, he wasn't going to get remembered by skipping camp whenever he felt like it. He had waited patiently for a job to do for a while, as he always woke up early, but now he was beginning to get agitated. At this point, he'd have to make his own patrol just to keep himself busy.
Pinefoot -Elder's Den - alone
Deep in the furrow that was the Elder's Den, Pinefoot slept, drifting in and out of her dreams. She was pretty much awake, but too comfortable to really get up and move, although she was considering it. Even inside the furrow, she could feel the chilly air that the morning had brought and it wasn't putting her in a good mood at all. It was getting so cold so quickly, that she was even considering wiggling herself into the hollowed out boulder in front of the den and sleeping in there! At this thought, she grouchily heaved herself to her paws, not even bothering to groom herself as she excited her den. She sent a glare over her shoulder at her nest, which, she realized, hadn't been changed in several days. That's probably why it was so cold! Where was an apprentice when you needed one? Now huffy, she plopped herself in front of the elders den, glowering out into camp.

(raisinsnotspaghetti yeah, that's probably a good idea, since they're important to Wolffeather's character and might get mentioned at some point. I forgot to add Oakstar's previous deputy, myself! XD ~Cherry Red Panda~ Of course! Feel free to start rping, too!)
Oakstar woke later then usual, the loss of her deputy having had her up late into the night, staring up at Silverpelt and wondering why Starclan had stolen her from them all this close to Leaf Bare. She rolled over in her Den, curling up into a tight ball and covering her muzzle with her tail as she took another long, silent moment to grieve. She knew she had things to do - patrols needed to be sorted, food hunted, so many things. She needed to choose a new deputy, too.
But who could replace Lilywhisker?
Some time after the sun rose, she finally slunk from her den, noting that Wolffeather was missing - not unusual - as well as Owlheart. Owlheart often slipped from the camp very early to hunt, she knew, and decided not to add the quiet two-cat to the list of her worries. Spying Larchtail looking all but ready to crawl right out of his fur, she sighed deeply and padded over to him, squaring her shoulders.
"Larchtail," She meowed to get the younger tom's attention. "I would like you to take Emberstep, Applescent, and Riversplash out to patrol, should all of them still be in the camp." She said, words sounding stronger then she felt. She hoped Larchtail could lead a patrol well - he was so young and reckless. Maybe she should've had Riversplash lead the patrol instead? No, she thought, fighting to keep herself from slumping under the weight of her indecision, He will do fine.

Bearcloud was up very early, before dawn even, sorting through his herb stores in his den. He was worried - Leaf Bare seemed to be coming sooner then he was hoping for and with it came a shortage of important herbs that would definitely die off in any early, seemingly inevitable, frosts. He'd have to talk to Oakstar about sending a few warriors to the marsh to collect herbs - and soon. Catmint was a delicate plant and easiest to find there, after all, and was worth the long and treacherous journey to get.
Dawn came with cold breezes, but holed up in his den, he hadn't noticed it until he'd stepped out into it and the chill cut right through his thick fur. His ears flattened on his head and he sat slowly in front of his den, quietly grooming for several long moments as the camp came to life before him - Wolffeather left to do Starclan only knew what, Larchtail looked ready to claw out someones eyes, Pinefoot looked... Cranky. All not unusual, of course, and he sighed. He missed the days when Lilywhisker was around and the dawn patrol was already well into their patrol by now, Oakstar checking in with all who remained in camp and setting warriors to other tasks.
He watched as the brown-furred leader all but crawled from her den, looking as if she held the entirety of Starclan on her shoulders with the weight of the loss all of them felt. He watched as she slunk towards Larchtail, likely going to organize a late dawn patrol. He shook his head, sighed, and stood up. It wouldn't do to sit around and do nothing all day, there were herbs to gather and an old, cranky Elder to check on himself as he currently lacked an apprentice to do it for him.
He padded over to Pinefoot, tail raised high and expression friendly. "Are you dealing well with the chill this morning, Pinefoot? Is there anything I could do for you?" He mewed politely, trying to remain friendly despite Pinefoot's clear irritation, settling in front of her and wrapping his tail neatly around his paws.

Owlheart left the camp as soon as the sun rose, mind set on seeing if there were any frogs left this late in Leaf Fall by the lake. They were hoping a well-timed frog would help their dear sister and precious leader feel better - at least a little better. They could see how Lilywhisker's death weighed heavily on her and it made their heart ache to see.
They padded through the tall, dying reeds around the lake, pawsteps light and silent on the cold, muddy ground, ears straining for even the slightest hint of a croak, mouth slightly open for their deep, scenting breaths. Of course it wasn't the scent of a frog they caught, of course not, but a mouse. They cursed their rotten luck but, knowing that the clan as a whole must be fed, not just Oakstar, they followed the fresh scent in a crouch, prepared to leap at a moments notice.
And leap they did just a few pawsteps later, a dead mouse clamped in their jaws in moments. They buried it, vowing to come back for it later, and continued along the slushy-muddy banks of the lake, determined to come back with even the tiniest of frogs.

Emberstep lingered at camp, sprawled in front of the Warrior den. She was hoping Oakstar would could out soon and come to her to run a patrol, absolutely eager to do so, her paws nearly aching to check the borders. However, with dawn's light turning into morning light, she huffed. She knew Oakstar was suffering from Lilywhiskers death and of course she felt it too, but that didn't mean a good Leader could slack off like this! She huffed and rolled over onto her other side, curling up into a ball with a mrrow. Too busy doing this, she didn't notice Oakstar finally slink from her den - and straight to Larchtail, of course. Everyone liked Larchtail.
Her ears twitched upon hearing Oakstar's voice and the mention of patrol and she scrambled to sit up, tail lashing behind her in eagerness, hearing her own name being mentioned - yes! She was going on patrol, too! Not keen on interrupting their conversation despite her eagerness, she kneaded the ground, nearly bouncing in her impatiences. Larchtail would come to fetch her for the patrol, after all. She could wait a little bit longer.

{{ I'll probably make Wolffeather's siblings later tonight, then. }}
Larchtail -Camp - Bubble 's Oakstar & Emberstep, ~Cherry Red Panda~ 's Applescent & Riversplash
Larchtail gave his leader a friendly smile as he approached, stiffling his former annoyance, but as soon as she spoke, his frustration melted away; Oakstar wants me to lead a patrol! he thought excitedly, tail flicking, she must really trust me, then! He puffed out his chest a bit, unable to stop his pride from showing, but quickly smoothing his fur as he reminded himself that he was leader was watching. He nodded firmly, a purr rumbling in his throat.
"Of course, Oakstar! I'll go get them right now." he answered briskly. He nodded seriously at her one last time before bounding past her, to where he could already see Emberstep lingering in front of the Warriors Den. As soon as he passed Oakstar's sight, his face broke out into a grin, and he pranced to a stop next to Emberstep. "Good morning, Emberstep," he greeted her, "You, Applescent, Riversplash, and I are to go on a patrol! Get yourself ready while I get Applescent and Riversplash, please." With that, he slipped inside the Warriors Den, leaving no extra room for conversation. He was glad he remembered to be polite -in his eagerness, he was all prepared to hull out his clanmates by force if needbe.
"Applescent, Riversplash! Wake up! We've got a patrol to go on!" he called softly, searching for his denmates in the darkness.
----* Pinefoot - Elder's Den - Bubble 's Bearcloud
Pinefoot watched Bearcloud make his way over, greeting him with a sour -eyed stare. Sitting outside with no protection from the wind left her cold and annoyed within only a few minutes; her pelt, while thick, didn't seem to be protecting her as it used to, but it was much better than sitting in the raggedy old nest in her den. She clucked her tongue in response to Bearcloud, flattening her ears.
"Today is the coldest I've been since last leaf -bare!" Pinefoot answered, feeling annoyed that Bearcloud would ask such an obvious question. "Cloudpaw hasn't changed my nest for days, and it's freezing in my den. I shouldn't 'uve expected such a fluff-brain to remember, but my nest feels like a patch of a brambles, for StarClan's sake!" She spat bitterly, scruffing her claws in the dirt under her. Truly, her nest hadn't been such a bother, but now that she was saying it aloud, it felt like quite the big deal. The fact that no cat remembered to care for her -be it Cloudpaw, or even her sons - was truly infuriating.

Larchtail's eagerness settles her nerves just a bit and she relaxes slightly where she sits, sighing deeply. She watches as the young warrior darts off, speaking quickly to an eager-looking Emberstep and then scurrying into the Warriors Den to fetch the other two she'd named for patrol. The eagerness of the two young cats had her nerves settling even further. Maybe they would be fine after all? Content for the moment, she stood up and stretched deeply before padding over to where she could see Bearcloud and Pinefoot talking.
"Good morning, Pinefoot. What is this I hear about Cloudpaw not coming to change your bedding?" The Leader purrs, frowning slightly at the old she-cat. She knew the warriors - and in extension, Cloudpaw - had been very busy helping to prepare for Leaf Bare, but had Cloudpaw truly been so busy he'd forgotten? Her ears flattened on her head.
"If this is true, I'll hold him back from patrol this morning and send him to gather new moss for you instead, Pinefoot." She meowed forcefully.

Pinefoot - Elder's Den - Bubble 's Bearcloud & Oakstar
Pinefoot turned her sulky gaze over to the leader as she approached, although she did have better sense than to disrespect Oakstar, espessically after Lilywhisker's death. She dipped head -although a bit stiffly -and nodded at her. "You've heard right. I've hardly seen whisker nor tail of that StarClan forsaken apprentice these past few days!" she meowed, hackles raising in annoyance. She might've felt the need to respect Oakstar, but Cloudpaw certainly didn't earn any bit of her liking, and he'd stay on her bad side until he started acting like a respectable apprentice of DawnClan.
She nodded curtly, liking what Oakstar said. Cloudpaw needed to be disciplined. When she was an apprentice, she checked on her elders every day, and their moss was to their upmost liking at all times. How times have changed! "Thank you, Oakstar." she acknowledged, and then, because she could never keep her opinions to herself, added, "And if I were you, I'd give their mentor a talking to as well. Cloudpaw's not the only fluff brain around; his mentor's clearly letting him off easy!"

Applescent woke with a start when she heard Larchtail call her name, she rose from her nest and gave her fur a quick grooming. She yawned and headed out of the den to meet with Larchtail and Emberstep, "Patrol time huh? Well I'm ready." She mewed still somewhat tired. She flicked her ear back to here someone stumbling out of the warriors den behind her.
Riversplash heard the word patrol and that's all he needed to know, the older tom hurried out to meet the others. With a big smile on his face and his tail raised high he dipped his head to his fellow clanmates. "I'm here, sorry to keep everyone waiting!" he mewed, his pelt still ragged from sleeping. "Where are we going on this patrol?" he asked with a curious tilt of his head.

Larchtail - Camp - ~Cherry Red Panda~ 's Applescent & Riversplash, Bubble 's Emberstep
Larchtail gave a pause as he slipped out of the den in front of Riversplash, realizing that he wasn't quite sure where Oakstar wanted the patrol to go. Glancing at her from the corner of his eye, he spotted her talking to Pinefoot and Bearcloud, and from there quickly made his descison not to ask. Talking to Pinefoot would make anyone cranky; he knew, seeing as he was raised by her -even if she was 'nicer' to him than his brother, talking to Pinefoot felt a little bit similar to talking to a rabid badger.
"Oakstar didn't exactly tell me where she wanted us to patrol," Larchtail admitted after a moment, feeling that it was probably better to be honest, even though it somewhat hurt his pride. "But she wanted a border patrol; I think that we should go by the Crossing Rocks to make that nothing's crossed, and on the way, check on the Little Pond, to make sure it's safe for everyone to get a drink at, later on." Plus, Larchtail was pretty thirsty, and he bet his clanmates were too. He looked over at his clanmates, looking sure of himself.

Hollybright watched as the morning patrol was formed from where she sat beside the warrior's den. Her tail was placed neatly around her paws, and her eyes glittered as she watched the camp come alive. The silver cat wondered if Oakstar would organize a hunting patrol as well, or if Hollybright should make one herself, but it must have been hard for the leader already without Lilywhisker at her side. She decided to just wait until cats were needed next and would jump in there, not wanting to step on any paws.

Wrenpaw hadn't stirred when Bearcloud had left the den. He wasn't asleep at this point anymore, just simply curled up with his tail covered his face. He knew to expect a chilly draft in the morning, but that didn't mean he had to like it. Or go out there right now. Perhaps he could just lay here until Bearcloud told him to do something, or another cat came in wanting care.

Bearcloud, upon seeing that Pinefoot's issue would be dealt with, gave a friendly nod to the Elder before politely pulling Oakstar away so they could talk without the chance of the grumpy Elder butting in. They settled near the base of the old aspen, Oakstar nothing but curious while he settled down and began to nervously lick at his chest and paws. Suggesting an outage to the marsh was dangerous - not just for the cats chosen to go, but for the clan as a whole. Less warriors around to defend the clan and all. After a few long moments of awkward silence, he finally drew up the courage to speak.
"Our supply of marsh-herbs are very low, Oakstar. The last time a trip to the Marsh was made was in New Leaf! If Lilywhisker was-" He cut himself off, realizing what he'd been about to say, and flinched at the broken expression on his leader's face at the mere mention of her old Deputy's name. He watched as she seemed to slump in on herself, her earlier regained confidence gone, and hated himself a little bit for being the cause of it.
"Send your apprentice to the marsh, Bearcloud. I'm sure he is knowledgeable enough to gather the marsh herbs. You may have two warriors of your choosing to accompany him." Oakstar murmured, tail lashing and ears pinned back. He nodded slowly, murmuring a quiet yes, Oakstar, before he turned tail and nearly ran right back into the Medicine den.
"Wrenpaw!" He called loudly, noticing his apprentice still sleeping in a lump in his nest. He sighed deeply, shaking his head, but then noticed that his young apprentice was not, in fact, asleep.
"Lazing about this morning, I see? Well, get up; Oakstar has given me permission to send out a group to the marsh. It will be your first time going, will it not?" He sat some pawsteps from Wrenpaw's nest, tail neatly placed over his paws and expression kind and warm as he tried to push away the thoughts of what he'd just said to Oakstar.

Bearcloud's words struck her hard and she was left reeling. She spoke without thinking, okaying a trip to the marsh that she was well aware was needed, but she wasn't sure she wanted. This close to Leaf Bare... Was it really a good idea to chance it? A cold breeze ruffled her coat and reminded her that the chill of Leaf Bare was deadly and that the Marsh's herbs, should there be any left in this cold weather, were needed to keep her clan from falling to any number of terrible illnesses the cold brings with it.
So caught in her thoughts, she hadn't even noticed Bearcloud leaving and when she looked up and saw that the massive medicine cat was, in fact, not standing in front of her and watching her fight with herself on her decision, she sighed and straightened up again, giving her chest a settling lick. She looked around at camp - it seemed dawn patrol was readying to leave at the moment and Hollybright was sitting to the side, watching the camp as she herself was right now.
It was in this moment that she remembered that, along with border patrols, hunting ones were also a necessity. She once again mourned the loss of Lilywhisker who had always been on top of these things. Feeling like there was a tree lain across her back dragging her down, she slowly made her way over to Hollybright.
"Hollybright," She purred quietly upon reaching the silver she-cat. "I would like you to find Wolffeather and Owlheart for a hunting patrol. I'm sure they both left camp early this morning - I've no doubt Owlheart, at least, will be returning soon, so they should be easy enough to find." She hoped the she-cat was up to finding the two wayward warriors.

Emberstep's excitement only grew as Larchtail, Riversplash, and Applescent finally dragged themselves out of the den, nearly bouncing on her paws as Larchtail explained where he thought they should go for patrol.
"Sounds good to me!" She meows eagerly once he's finished talking, eyes bright as she struggles not to start heading towards the entrance of camp before everyone else. "I'm parched; the pond is a perfect first stop!" She praises Larchtail, a happy purr rumbling in her chest. "Lead the way!"

Owlheart was, in fact, on their way back to camp. They hadn't managed to find much by the lake, strangely enough - usually, even into Leaf Bare, there was plenty of fish at least! But they'd barely managed to scrounge up two scrawny mice and a skinny, old bird. They were in the process of carrying all three of these things into the camp when they noticed that the dawn patrol was still lingering and their sister was speaking to Hollybright - they strained their hearing towards them to catch the end of her words and figured out she was organizing a hunting patrol.
Their shoulders sagged slightly in relief as they padded over to the mostly empty fresh kill pile, setting their meager catches down in the little hollow before stepping back to wash their chest and paws, watching their clanmates go about their duties.

Hollybright’s ears perked as Oakstar approached her, and she lightly dipped her head. “Of course,” she said, amusement lighting up her eyes. Hopefully the two cats hadn’t gone far; even if they did, she would enjoy a walk around territory any time. She rose to her paws and crossed the camp to the entrance. She opened her mouth to check for the scent of either cat, then headed on.

Wrenpaw opened one eye, then stretched out his legs with a big yawn, shuffling the moss around him. “I think so, yeah,” he said as he sat back up on his haunches. His tail quickly stuck up and flicked about; he was going out of camp without Bearcloud! He licked his paw and drew it over his face. “Who’s coming with me?”

{{ Hey, Nissabug, maybe Larchtail and Hollybright could have a bit of a rivalry? They both seem interested in becoming deputy, so it might be a fun relation to role play, if you want. }}
Larchtail - Camp - ~Cherry Red Panda~ 's Riversplash & Applescent, Bubble 's Emberstep
"Glad you agree," Larchtail meowed to Emberstep with a smile, although he glanced over her shoulder and noticed Oakstar speaking to Hollybright, and his ears flattened for half a second before he quickly pulled them back up again. He had nothing against Hollybright -she was quite nice, actually -but he hoped that she wasn't getting within good graces of Oakstar. If he wanted to be remembered, he was certain that it required becoming either leader or deputy, and he didn't want any cat standing in his way.
Oh, hush, Larchtail. Thinking like that makes you sound like you're planning a murder, he scolded himself, shaking his head briefly, before returning his gaze back to his patrol. He probably stared off into space long enough, and it was time to get a move on. "Alright, warriors, let's get a move on! If we're lucky, then maybe we can catch some prey on the way back!" he meowed, moving to match Emberstep's energy, as he turned away from them and trotted onward, confidently leading his way out of camp.

He got up tiredly, wanting to go back to bed immediately after stretching. He'd been eating less than he should have, lately. Everyone has been, even Rainsong and Pinefoot, and they were the ones who needed it most. He shook the sleep out of his fur, stepping out of the warrior den and letting the dawn light warm him up as he watched their leader give out orders. He was tired, but there was still a never-ending amount of work to be done, and him slacking wouldn't help anything.
He waited quietly for Oakstar to finish speaking with Hollybright, before approaching his leader, dipping his head respectfully. "Oakstar." It was the only greeting he'd offer, but at this point, he figured his leader was used to that. "Is there anything specific that you'd like me to do? If not, I'll go hunting as well." His tail twitched, the only sign of his agitation. Leaf fall was always hard. Everyone knew that. However, this leaf fall, and the coming leaf bare, felt like it'd be the hardest their clan has ever faced.

Cloudpaw never slept for very long, as tired as he was. He was a warrior apprentice! He had things to do!! Places to see, prey to catch!! He was up and bursting out of the apprentice den by the time most of the rest of the clan was up, not paying anyone but his mentor any mind. Would they train again today? Hunt? Patrols? He was ready for it. Of course, it was then that he saw Riversplash leaving the camp, and it seems his mentor had forgotten about him today. Cloudpaw didn't mind, though!
He was sure Riversplash was tired from all their training earlier. He'd only been an apprentice for a few days, but he'd learned a lot already. He kneaded the ground excitedly, wondering what he should do. There was no way he'd be waiting for Riversplash to come back from patrol. That'd be such a waste of time! Suddenly, though, the idea came to him, and it was perfect.
He gave them a little bit of a headstart, tail swishing excitedly as he slunk out of camp behind them, keeping downwind as he followed his mentor's patrol. He may as well impress everyone with how well he could stalk others. Maybe he might even be the fastest apprentice to become a warrior?
