Webstep
He looks over his apprentice, noticing he's looking a bit glum - likely wanting to do something other the hunting today, which was fine with him. There was plenty more he could teach the young cat, after all. "Good morning Coyotepaw, Hazepaw." He mumurs distractedly, ear twitching as he mulled over his options - but that's interrupted by Nightstar. He turns his head to look at the leader, tail twitching. "Of course Nightstar. We will leave as soon as possible." He meowed in response before turning his attention to Featherfrost's apprentice, yellow eyes kind.
"Hazepaw, you should probably go and pull Featherfrost out of the nursery. If we wait too long, she may decide to hole up in there herself." He purrs fondly, eyeing the fluffy silver tail of said cat that was visible from the entrance of the Nursery.
Featherfrost
Featherfrost snickered slightly at her sister's plight, feeling only a little bit bad for laughing - it must really be tiring at this stage, after all. "I wonder what will be more exhausting - this, or having a bunch of tiny little kits to look after!" She mews, amusement clear in her voice as she kneads the ground excitedly.
"I should probably get going, though, Snowbird - Hazepaw's probably already wondering where I wandered off to this time. I'll make sure to send her your way with something nice and plump to eat as soon as I can! Try to get some rest, alright?" She lingers after still, though, eager to talk more with Snowbird but also knowing that she had other things to do, too.

Snowbird gave a weak smile to her sister. The sound of food was making her stomach rumble. "Good luck~"
--
Perfect! Something different for a change. They'd probably have to hunt after the patrol, but at least it wasn't the whole day. Coyotepaw was visibly more pepped now. Though, some might find the patroling more boring than hunting, as it was really just walking around. But, they could find something maybe.

Hazepaw nodded curtly to Webstep, then hurried in the direction of the nursery. Featherfrost was still talking to Snowbird, but Hazepaw thought it was really sweet how they still checked up on each other while living in separate dens. She hoped she and Rainpaw would remain close. She quietly padded up behind Featherfrost, trying not to surprise her. "Nightstar wants us on patrol."

Nightstar's silent form remained sitting in front of her den. Her eyes narrowed, though with pleasure. 'Look at them.' She thought to herself, 'How they listen.' What obedient and loyal clanmembers she had. Most would know better than to stir up trouble. Coldstar would be prou--'Don't think about him!!' Night swallowed hard, her inner voice nearly knocking her off of her feet. No... musn't think about him at all.

((It's all good, same here )) Owlwing let out a purr underneath her breath, indulging in the blissful feeling of sunlight warming her pelt. She had curled up in a corner of Briarclan's camp, an attempt at sunning for a little while. Casting a glance around the camp, she wondered if anyone would make any attempts at conversation with her today. They usually didn't, but the she-cat didn't even enjoy speaking that much- so of course she was alright with that.

Littleroot was up and about by dawn, just in time to see someone dart out of their den. Their brow raised. Was that their apprentice? No, he was sorting herbs just a second ago. It was then they realized they had fallen back into a doze. Perhaps no one was ever there at all. No matter, back to work. They had to check on Snowrose. The cat headed out before spotting Owlwing in the corner. "Oy." Littleroot called to her gruffly, "Shouldn't you be hunting or something?" Though their words were stern, the two-cat's whiskers were twitching with mischievousness.
(Playin' Little but remember they're an npc that anyone can play, just not at the same tme lol)

Featherfrost
She had been just about to shimmy out of the nursery when Hazepaw's voice startles her nearly out of her fur and she makes a small sound, hurrying out of the den quickly with a rushed goodbye to her sister. She looks at Hazepaw, ears drooping a bit in embarrassment, though she doesn't say anything about getting startled.
"Patrol? We better get going, then." She paused, looking around at camp and noting that everyone seemed to be starting to wake up. That probably meant Dawn patrol was a little late and that was, probably, her fault for lingering with Snowbird too long. She spied Webstep and Coyotepaw lingering around - well, Coyotepaw was lingering. Webstep was staring at her. That likely meant they were waiting for her. She bounded over to them, meowing a quiet apology for taking so long.
"Time to get going, then!" She meowed, motioning for Hazepaw to follow as she slips out of camp, Webstep a pawstep behind her.
Webstep
Once Hazepaw had gone off to fetch her mentor, he turned to his apprentice and looked him over critically. Since Nightstar's order for them to patrol with Featherfrost and Hazepaw, he'd brightened up considerably, and that was good. He was sure the young apprentice would droop once more when they went out hunting after they reported back, but for now, he seemed happy enough.
He looked from Coyotepaw to the source of a startled 'mrrow' and saw Featherfrost backing out of the Nursery, clearly embarrassed from being startled by her own apprentice, and waited patiently for the she-cat to notice them. She did after a moment and promptly came over, apologizing for taking too long before eagerly urging them all from the camp. He sighed, looking up at the sky for a moment and asking Starclan for patience when dealing with these energetic cats.
He stops them all right outside of the camp to go over where, exactly, they were going to be going.
"We will follow the stream towards the bay and then circle up around towards the meadow, cross the stream there and do a wide arc back around to camp." He looked between them all before, with a flick of his tail, he started towards the stream.

Coyotepaw looked to Hazepaw and then to her mentor as their exchange took place. He suppressed a mrrow of laughter, though that in itself was difficult. As soon as the scaredy-cat joined them, they were off, as Webstep made quick work of that. The apprentice's eyes were round and wide, ears flicking. It was windy even with the shelter of the trees, bringing a multitude of different smells to the air around them. He could have sworn he smelled... cinnamon?
--
In the depths of the Copse, the shadow made her way ever-dangerously closer to the clan's camp. The scent that may be detected was that of a rogue, no other than Minthe herself. She was disguised by brush. But only for now.

Hazepaw walked next to Coyotepaw and Featherfrost, keeping her ears pricked. She had been on enough patrols now to understand how many scents were around her, and could identify most of them. However, something different wafted by... something warm and spicy. She glanced over at Coyotepaw, wondering if he had caught on to the same thing. Perhaps it was a farther away scent being carried by the wind.

Sunnypuddle had woken up just after the patrol had left. She moseyed out of the warrior's den and sunk into a deep stretch, then shook out her thick pelt. Her eye caught Owlwing, hearing Littleroot call to her. She trotted over to the she-cat with her tail in the air. "Good morning!" she greeted, then glanced over at the medicine cat with amusement. "We can go hunting, and maybe Littleroot won't grump at us," she giggled.

Owlwing stiffened as Sunnypuddle spoke to her, clearly not expecting the interaction. She tilted her head, slowly rising to her paws. "Alright," mumbled the tabby in a shy demeanor. Stretching before fully realizing how late it was, she perked up. "Any place in particular?" the warrior uttered.

Sunnypuddle looked up as she thought. "We can go toward the Briar Copse," she finally said, tipping her head at the other warrior. "We may not even have to go all the way there, if the prey is still good." Hopefully the leaf-fall chill hadn't settled into the forest too hard yet. She turned and flicked her tail to the entrance before looking back at Owlwing. "Let's go!" she purred.

Webstep and Featherfrost
It's not long into their walk towards the stream that they catch the scent - cinnamon. It's a scent he recognizes vaguely - though he can't tell exactly where he remembers it from. He paused, Featherfrost stopping just a pawstep or so in front of him, clearly scenting exactly what he had. A rouge? He wondered, ears twitching as he searched for any suspicious noises.
"Be wary," he whispers, taking deep breaths to get more of that cinnamon-scent. After a few more lungfuls he turns towards the direction the wind - and, in turn, the scent - is coming from.
"Change of plans, then," He murmurs, voice still whisper-soft. "We find what - or who - that scent comes from." He turns his attention to the two apprentices, expression intense, but Featherfrost pipes up before he can.
"You two follow our lead and be careful." She purrs quietly and the two mentors share a look before he starts towards the source of the scent, Featherfrost a breath behind him, paws quick and silent on the ground. If it was a rogue of some kind, they couldn't let it go unchecked for long - and they were gaining on the source of the scent quickly.

Coyotepaw's gaze narrowed. He wasn't sure how to feel. Afraid? Excited? This would mark his first rogue encounter. He swallowed hard before lifting his muzzle to the breeze. It was chill, but with that warm, spicy scent lingering like a trail of thin smoke. He couldn't will his hackles to lower; too on edge.
--
Minthe froze in her tracks. She hadn't been spotted, no, but she had been scented. Her fangs became bared and she flattened herself to the ground. Had she been foolish to come here? She just wanted... just wanted to see...
Speaking of seeing, she noticed a dire flaw in the clan cat's formation. The apprentices--at least, the darker-colored one--were lagging behind the older cats. He could be struck and pinned down by her in a heartbeat. She lifed her chin, claws unsheathing silently into the damp soil... and darted forward.
--
Coyotepaw was indeed walking a little slower than the rest of the patrol. Tracking wasn't his strong suit, so he had to focus a little harder. The scent seemed to only grow closer. He thought he heard a rustle, but as he turned his head and opened his mouth, he saw her. Eyes went wide and he lost all thought. Before he realized, he was on his back, staring up at the cloudy-white sky and swaying trees. His stomach hurt, but he couldn't understand why. It hadn't occured to him he had just been attacked.

Owlwing nodded, walking slowly after Sunnypuddle without so much as an expression on her face, calmly. The she-cat and Sunnypuddle were nearly polar opposites, being so quiet and introverted as Owlwing was. "Alright, I'll follow," she mumbled.

Hazepaw had realized how strong the cinnamon scent had become at the same time Coyotepaw had been attacked. She quickly turned to look at whatever happened, and let out a hiss of both surprise and anger. Her fur fluffed up and her claws came out with instinct. The same instinct lead her to spring at the strange she-cat without thinking. She had no time to think about how she had hardly any fighting experience, and was about to try and fight a full grown cat.

Sunnypuddle purred, satisfied with that answer. She headed out of the briar entrance and toward Coldstar's Stream. The she-cat eyed it carefully, then quickly stepped across the few stepping stones in the center and hopped onto the other side. She turned and looked at Owlwing expectantly but patiently, her tail flicking rhythmically behind her.
