Carmelo Rivera Son of Dante & Collette
You know those stories you read about online about a time someone that is usually socially awkward somehow, against all odds, becomes the coolest person in the room for two whole minutes and gets convinced they got possessed by a helpful ghost that was just so sick of all the secondhand embarrassment? No? Well maybe you just go on different sites than Carmelo, because right there in that instance it was as if the smoothest person that had ever lived - and died obviously - had gotten tired of all the times before when Carmelo had tried to impress someone and failed and decided to take matters into their own hands.
At the compliment Berlin had given him in return, Carmelo glanced down at his beach outfit. He was wearing a simple pair of swimming trunks that has different types of food designed onto it and a simple pair of watermelon flip-flops. It wasn’t all that good of an outfit, definitely not if he was supposed to be trying to actually look good. At least he had spiked up his hair a bit, making the colorful alebrije colors even more visible and vibrant, and along with that the pair of sunglasses he had on did amp up his looks a bit, but only because sunglasses were inherently cool. Plus, the fact that he currently was not wearing a shirt did give him a chance to show off his abs.
Which he totally had, just for the record. For all that it was worth, Carmelo did care about his over all appearance, he was basically a celebrity with how popular online he was. He had to make sure he looked decent enough to be seen. So that meant daily workouts that honestly he hated at first, but they weren’t so bad anymore, and now he had abs and that was definitely a bonus. So over all, maybe he did look pretty good, which wasn’t even to say he was arrogant or anything...much, anyways, he just.
He looked good.
Looking back up and over to Berlin, Carmelo smiled over at her. ”Thanks but you look better, though you always look amazing, so it’s no surprise you look even more beautiful today,” he complimented the dog-cat girl easily.
Extending his hand out to her to help her out, Carmelo gestured with his head towards the beach. ”How about we go for a walk? It’s a nice day, we can walk along the shoreline,” he suggested, offering his new girlfriend another smile as he waited for her to take his hand.
Honestly that was probably the smoothest he had ever been, he didn’t stumble over his words once. This was what he meant when he claimed earlier to have been momentarily possessed by the smoothest person that had ever lived. What was a smooth person name? Antonio? That seemed like the name of a really smooth, attractive man. ”Thanks Antonio,” Carmelo thought, sending the silent thank you up to the sky for Antonio the smooth ghost.

Gi Peace Daughter of Warren Peace & Go Go
Well those were some...mixed reactions. Which was a bit disappointing because Gi wanted to show off her awesome fire to everyone, so it really did work best if everyone wanted to actually see how awesome she was. Frowning a little, Gi looked over to Miso and nodded in agreement with Hono. ”Yeah, come on Misty, it’ll be fine, I know what I’m doing now,” Gi promised with a grin as if hoping that she could reassure her friend that she totally knew exactly what she was doing...even if the sand was still a little tricky to work with.
Then came the problem that not everyone could withstand fire on the off chance that Gi once again proved to be worthy of the disaster squad and set someone - or multiple people - on fire, and that was valid, Gi would admit that. She didn’t want to be the next person to be kicked off Auradon. She didn’t want to be the next Mayleen. So maybe it was best if she figured out something else.
Letting out a thoughtful hum, Gi turned her attention to the ocean. She wasn’t a huge fan of water considering it put out her flames, but given the circumstance, she could work with what she got. So, grinning, Gi finger gunned back towards Hono and Miso. ”Watch this,” she told them, walking towards the water until she had stepped into the shallow part of the ocean, placing her feet firmly in the water and on the sand before looking forward, a determined flash in her eyes as she got ready, digging her feet further into the wet sand.
She had one shot at this, she had to made it count.
So, lighting her arms on fire again, Gi sprung forward in a cartwheel, feet lifting into the air and bursting into flames just as her hands gripped onto the sand. Seeing as how it did seem to work, Gi kept going, cartwheeling back and forth in front of her two friends while lighting her arms and legs on fire whenever they were out of the water.
By all accounts this...shouldn’t have worked, yet somehow it did, in fact it didn’t just work, she hadn’t even messed up and that was impressive in itself, typically by this point Gi would mess up and fall over and probably light something on fire, but that didn’t happen this time and Gi had to admit...she felt pretty darn cool.

Ramona Blanchefleur Bong Daughter of Bing Bong & Rainbow Unicorn
Sometimes people just needed a break from reality, and when they did, they came to her. Today had been a bit of an unexpected visit from an old friend. Oddy Odie, she had graduated the year before but still lived in Auradon City, today she had needed a break from the stresses of jobs and expectations.
So it only seemed fair to welcome her friend back with open arms and a trip to imaginary land, which was where Ramona had spent most of her morning by now, floating down a lazy river in Oddy’s imaginary swamp. The swamp was nice, with long purple trees and warm snow drifting down from the sky. It was peaceful. Serene.
”Mona, come look, there’s something in the water,” Oddy called out to her, causing Ramona to look up from her spot on the boat, a straw of wheat casually sticking out of her mouth.
Scrambling up to her feet, Ramona crawled over to join the fairy-witch and look down at the water as swirled underneath them. Oddy was right, there was something swirling deep within the water-something big. Tilting her head to the side, Ramona leaned forward to get a better look, brows furrowing together as the large thing began to swim upwards. ”...What is tha-“ right as she spoke the creature broke out of the water’s surface and leapt into the air, causing the boat to get waved back by the water.
Ramona closed her eyes to prevent any water from getting in.
Thats when she heard Oddy scream.
Opening up her eyes, Ramona blinked to clear her vision, looking up until finally she saw what Oddy had screamed at. A large, snake like creature with creamy yellow skin and sharp, long horns sprouting from its head curling down like ram horns stood towering over the small boat, its long slit tongue sliding out of it’s black mouth like a miniature snake of its own. ”Oddy...what is that?” Ramona asked as a breeze passed by, blowing her hair in the wind.
The creature arched its back, jaw detaching for the mouth to open far too wide to be comfortable and with a loud screech like hiss the creature slammed its mouth over the boat and chomped down on it, instantly breaking the boat in half.
Oddy’s wings sprouted from her back just in time, letting her fly into the air and away from the creature.
Ramona took a different approach and backed up to the end of the boat that hadn’t been bitten by the creature, waiting for a moment before she jumped into the air and right at the creature, landing on it’s head. The creature hissed in displeasure and tossed its head into the air, trying to shake Ramona off but to no avail.
Shaking her head, Ramona tried to focus, glancing up towards Oddy and then back down at the creature. Judging by the look of terror on Oddy’s face, this had not been part of the plan for their little trip to imaginary land.
Thinking quick, Ramona jumped into the air, turning herself into a small, fluffy bird just in time. ”We should go,” she told Oddy, looking over at the fairy girl for a moment as she nodded in agreement.
That was all Ramona needed to fly towards Oddy and touch her beak to her hand, pulling them out of imaginary land just before the creature whipped its tail at them.
Within an instant, all of that faded away, leaving way for a much more normal setting. Ramona’s dorm room.
Now back in her typical human form, Ramona clutched onto the rug underneath her and looked over at Oddy. ”You weren’t really relaxing, were you?” She asked and Oddy shook her head. It hadn’t taken long for Ramona to guess what was going on.
Typically when people had a lot on their mind, it would leak into their subconscious and that would leak into their imagination. That creature had been nothing more than Oddy’s worries and stress manifested into an actual, imaginary being. ”Right, have you thought about trying yoga?” She questioned, looking over at Oddy for a few moments before the fairy girl chuckled out in response, which in turn made Ramona laugh along.
”I’ll have to give that a try.”
—
After Oddy had left, Ramona had gotten up and ready for the beach party going on - as it had always been her intention to attend - and quickly made her way towards the beach. Unsure of what exactly she’d do, Ramona figured she’d figure that out once she got there.
It seemed like the party was already buzzing with life, a lot of the school had arrived and even some from the younger schools. Ramona smiled, greeting people as she walked through the beach. Honestly, if she was being honest, she was looking for Mustafa since she figured he’d probably be here and it had been too long since she had last talked to her best friend - well really it had only been since yesterday but that was too long - however she wasn’t having much luck there and at the rumble of her stomach it finally occurred to her that she might’ve forgotten to eat today given Oddy’s visit and everything that had followed that.
”Hmm,” Ramona hummed under her breath, making her way to the snack table. She’d grab something to eat, chat up anyone at the snack table and then go find Mustafa. ”Now to pick what to eat...” Ramona mused out loud as she looked down at all the snack options readily available for her.
It was an Auradon party, so she wasn’t really surprised to find just about as many snacks as someone could imagine, however it did make decisions much harder for her, everything looked so appetizing - well, other than the meat - and she really didn’t need to try a little bit of everything...even though that’s probably what she’d end up doing anyways.

Gram Gesner son of grace and barry
Maybe in some sense it was a bit weird for him to be able to just beast out on command like he could. Living around and near a lot of other kids that could also beast out had shown Gram that most other animals kids had to have some sort of spark of emotion to shift from human to animal. It had taken him until he was a bit older to actually realize that completely, but a part of him still found it hard to believe that others had such a hard time channeling their animal selves. Just turning into their animal counterpart wasn’t something that people like Millie and Milo could just do like Gram could, and he knew it took a lot to get Jericho to beast out as well. With Gram he could simply just think about it and that was that. One minute he was a perfectly emotionally stable young man, the next he was a perfectly stable young bull. There wasn’t anything to it at all. Gram had never questioned it all that much before, but hearing how fascinated Merlion seemed by it did make the literal cowboy all the more curious about this and did make his mind start to wander.
He wasn’t magical. Or at least, he wasn’t from a magical family. His family was just a long line of cattle that had no magic attached to them whatsoever. The only possible magic he could possibly think of that his parents would have been involved in would be from their run ins with Alameda Slim way back before Auradon had been formed. There had to be some kind of magic involved with him if he could put cows into a hypnotic trance just by yodeling.
Other than that, Gram couldn’t think of a thing that would have given him any magic. His mom had been immune to Alameda’s hypnotic yodeling, but that wasn’t due to magic it, it was due to her being tone-deaf. Really, Gram had nothing to say about magic in his family other than that it simply didn’t exist. So why could he beast out so easily? Was he just closer to his animal side than others? Was he really magic? Gram wasn’t sure, but maybe Merlion had some answers. Plus, if this intrigued Merlion so much and he wanted to look more into this whole thing Gram had going on, maybe that meant he was willing to stick around and hang out with Gram from time to time. That would be really nice, and there was that small part of him that was excited for the chance to hang out with Merlion. He had to remind himself that he was only open to friendships and nothing more with the other guy, but that could be interesting enough. Gram didn’t really have any friends outside of his cousins and Jericho, and even then he sometimes felt like the odd one out between them. Milo and Millie had each other, Jericho was actually a sociable and charismatic person, and then there was Gram. Gram who could turn into a cow on command. Gram who didn’t really know much on how to interact with other people. He had Connie, and he was still rather surprised he had somehow made it far enough with her to start officially dating, but beyond that he was just...Gram. There was nothing spectacular about him. Not until now when Merlion seemed beyond fascinated with him and his cow shifting abilities. Until now he never really thought of himself as more than just the typical cowboy that couldn’t really get anything outside of being a ranch hand right. But maybe there was a bit more to him if Merlion thought so.
For as little as he knew about life outside of what he did, Gram wasn’t the least bit surprised to find out who Merlion’s father was. Given his name and the penchant for magic Merlion had, his father being the Merlin wasn’t surprising in the least. It made sense to Gram, and it was something he could make a lot of sense from.
Now, there really wasn’t any mystical wonder or anything like that. Maybe there should be, but this wasn’t any different than meeting somebody who was the child of, say, Cinderella or meeting somebody with a lesser known parent like Amelia the chicken. ”It sure is a pleasure to meet you,” Gram responded much like anybody would. There wasn’t really any drawn attention to the fact that Merlion was Merlin’s son or anything like that. If anything he was acting just as if he were meeting an everyday person. ”You must know a lot about magic and that sort of stuff, then. You really think there's something magical going on about me?” the bovine added to his earlier comment. It was about as much interest Gram really have to the whole “son of the one and only Merlin” Merlion had spoken up about. Maybe he should have given that a bit more attention or a bit more excitement, but Gram couldn’t force something that wasn’t there to be there. No, if anything he was simply just excited about being able to get to talk with Merlion regardless of who had fathered him. And somehow Gram was keeping that excitement under control. For now. It would only be a matter of time before he slipped up and said or did something completely foolish and idiotic. The only thing saving him now was that he was managing to keep himself from saying too much. The moment his tongue slipped and he started talking more would be the moment he’d mess everything up and become the next laughingstock of the year. When that happened he could at least beast out and run away. He’d go off to live his life as a wild bull. Nobody would be able to come and get him; he’d simply roam the wilds of Auradon and be as free as he could be. He would get to live a life that had been started based on embarrassment and failure, but at least beyond that he would have a simple life. It would just be him, the never ending crushing weight of the fact that he was a social failure, and the great outdoors. Now if that wasn’t a fascinating life then Gram didn’t know what was.

Stella Butterfly daughter of star and marco
Stella puffed her chest out with pure pride when Tuchu confirmed that Stella was, in fact, the lickiest person that Tuchu knew. There were a lot of people that they both knew, and there was probably some people that Tuchu knew that Stella didn’t, so that meant there were even more people out there that couldn’t compare to Stella and her tongue. ”I’ll fight them, too!” Stella exclaimed a bit too excitedly. She gave a wide smile then, snapping her teeth in as aggressive of a gesture she could make while not actually feeling anything that would make her aggressive. ”I’ll disembowel anybody who tries to stop me from becoming a licking goddess!” Now Stella had never actually disemboweled anything herself, but she was sure she could do it. What would even stop her from doing that anyway? All she’d have to was get somebody down on the ground on their back and from there she could slit them open right down from their throat to their belly button. From there she could stick her hand right inside that person, squiggle around for a while, and then start pulling out their organs.
Oh, oh, oh! She could make a necklace out of somebody’s intestines! That would be so cool. It would be like her own personal worm wrapped around her neck but without the commitment an actual worm would need. It would be all squishy and cuddly and nobody would want to steal it because it was an intestine.
… Nobody would steal her intestine worm, right? Oh no, what if somebody tried to steal her worm?
She couldn’t have that. She couldn’t have anybody stealing her worm. Stella would fight somebody if they tried, and then she’d go off and disembowel them too. She could make a second intestine worm necklace. That would be really cool. Then she could put her two worm intestine necklaces together where they could breed and make even more worm necklaces. She’d have to make sure to put them in a very cozy place with dim lighting and soft music to set the mood. She didn’t want her worm intestines to have a dry, dull romance. If they were going to make mini worm necklaces for her she wanted them to at least have some fun while doing so. Maybe if they made her enough worm intestine necklaces she could start a little pet shop or something. She could sell the little babies and make a business out of it. Yeah, that would be really fun. Saros would go on to be the queen of Mewni and Stella would be the official intestine worm breeder. Now that would be a lot of fun!
Would Tuchu want to do that with her? Stella didn’t want to do anything without her best friend at her side, and if Tuchu was interested in breeding and selling these creatures then Stella totally wanted the demon at her side.
”Hey Tuchu, you wanna start breeding intestine worm necklaces with me? They’ll be all the rage in a few years!” She had no doubt about it. Once they started selling the babies they had bred everybody would start lining up to get their own worm necklace.
Stella could have continued on this path of thought had Tuchu not spoken up about the whole “what if babies could lick grass while still in the womb” question from earlier. She could understand everything her friend was saying until it got to a certain part. That’s where Stella stopped and looked at her demon friend with wide, brown-amber eyes. ”What does vi...vica...vicarononiously mean?” The Mewni girl asked all the while terribly butchering the word “vicariously”. By this point the word Stella had said sounded like some kind of murderous macaroni that stalked people in the dead of night and sucked out all their blood when it pounced.
But back to the important stuff here.
As soon as her mind went back to focusing on licking and Love Sentence, an amazing idea sprouted in her mind.
Stella gave an excited jump, landing back on the sandy ground on all fours like some kind of cat. ”We could be Lick Sentence! Tuchu, we could be Lick Sentence!” Stella blurted out with so much excitement in her voice that it was obvious she would fight and die for them to be called Lick Sentence. ”Every body is gonna love us and our songs, and after we perform we can sell our worm necklaces!” See, Stella had this all figured out now. She was going to become a famous licking goddess in a girl band with her best friend while also being an intestine worm necklace breeder. She was going to go big with her aspirations and there was no stopping the magical girl at this point.

Hisoka Vimto Hamada Son of Hiro and Vanellope
Hiso still considered the Sugar Sins his best friends. Even though he had friends from his dad’s side of things and had met even more people at Auradon, they were still the ones that had been with him since he was only a child and first getting into racing. He could still remember the day he was added to the game, just a year after his sisters had. And a few years after him, Van was added. At least it seemed like his parents were done having kids after Van came along.
So of course he wouldn’t miss an opportunity to hang out with Cinnabeth. "Catch you off guard?” he teased, nudging her a bit. "Yeah, I’m ready. Sorry. I kinda... had to dig... through a mountain of clothes,” he said. The boy paused to rub his chin. "...Not as fun as digging through a mountain of candy.”
Of course it went back to candy for him. It seemed like a decent way to connect to Cinnabeth. After all, that was one thing they had in common that most Auradon kids didn't. They did. Cinnayla did. Hono and Hana did. Holli and Honiel did. Cherrison and Cherryana did. Tangio and Toffetris did. He could go on and on, listing his sugar rush friends, but he didn't see the need to waste thoughts on trying to list all of his friends. See, his video game friends were a big part of his life, but he also found it easy to make friends with people that weren't video games. The ice cream themed boy just had an endlessly optimistic and energetic look on life that people thought it was fun to be around him.
He knew it was because of Hana. He'd taken the loss of his sister hard and had done a lot of pretending to be happy while he was still processing the death of his older sister. Even once he'd... learned to accept it - he'd never be over her death - he had continued with the optimism. People liked him better that way and Hiso liked himself better that way.
When Cinnabeth asked her question, Hiso rubbed his chin and thought for a moment. "Do birds blink?" He stuck his hands in his pockets as he walked with her and quickly tried to recall the many birds he's seen in his life. There was that pigeon last week that had seemed to stare into Hiso's soul as he'd eaten his turkey sandwich. The thing still freaked him out, but he'd been too busy worrying about his sandwich that he hadn't checked to see if it was blinking.
"I'd say they do? I mean, don't there eyes get dry too? That's the whole purpose of blinking, isn't it?" Honestly, Hiso knew nothing about science or the human body. He was a video game. And yeah, he had a biological physical body that acted just like a biological, physical person's, but that didn't mean he paid attention to how it functioned. That was... weird. He'd look like some kind of alien if he walked around, testing how long he could not blink and what happened to his eyes if he didn't blink.
He pulled his attention from his tangent back to Cinnabeth. "So, what do you say? Wanna hit the beach? The arcade? Or just head the the center of the party to show off our obviously higher levels of cool than anyone else?" he asked, nudging her with a small smirk on his face as he put his sunglasses down. They had been perched atop his green and brown hair, but now poked him in the eye as he lowered them.
"Ow," he muttered, face turning slightly pink as he readjusted them on his face. Once he was successfully looking 'cool' again, he turned to give Cinnabeth one of those dorky smiles that were supposed to be reserved for his family and childhood friends. He tried to be actually cool around everyone else. Unfortunately it often failed and everyone got to see a bit of dorky Hiso - Dorkiso - whether he meant it or not.
But this was Cinnabeth. His favorite racing friend. Someone he trusted with anything. Someone that knew him and everything that most people didn't. She'd seen him at his best and at his worst. There was no use in trying to hide his true dork from her.

Talia Val Tweed Daughter of Tod and Vixie
Talia was glad that she got to hang out with Colton today. He was one of the few people that she let comfortable with. She looked like a nerd around most people, sharing random facts because she didn't know what else to say. She was horrible at conversation. But Colton was one of her best friends and she'd known him since she was young. She never had to worry about holding a conversation with him. They were gonna have a good time at the party. Or whatever they did. She wasn't going to force Colton to go to the party if he'd rather do something else, but she also wasn't going to hold him back if he did want to go to the party.
Still, his expression bothered her and she was worried that something bad had happened. Like something really bad. What if someone had tried to beat Colton up? Or had stolen something important to him? Or his parents were taking him out of Auradon, moving across the world, and making him cut ties with all of his friends here?
Her eyes widened when he told her what happened. "Oh no!" she said. A hat being stolen by birds may not sound like a big deal to some people, but Talia didn't want Colton to lose his hat. Especially not because some bird thought it was more important than him. That hat was special to Colton and her boyfriend deserved to get his hat back.
"We're gonna get your hat back, Colt," she promised. She puffed out her chest and raised her chin into the air.
Now, Talia was not much of a fighter or a protector or a defender. She didn't have much confidence and constantly second guessed herself. But messing with someone she loved would at least get Talia to try and that's what she was gonna do now. She may not succeed in getting his hat, but she was gonna try her hardest. "Do you know where the dang birds went?" she asked, her eyes scanning the nearby trees for any sign of a hat before returning to his face.

Caliyah Belle Bete Daughter of Magic Carpet and Mrs. Potts
Cali was never "cool" back when she went to school at Auradon. Yes, she was friendly and outgoing and tried to make friends, but she certainly wasn't considered cool by anyone. Still, that didn't help the shock of realizing she was now old. She was 20, and while that may not be old enough when brought up in comparison to the general public, it was like at least two years older than the majority of students. Sure, some had been held back and were seniors at the age of 19, but most seniors were still 18.
Here she was, at 20, with a husband and a kid and a house and and her little brother now living with them. Chance was 12 and still too young to attend high school, but he lived with Cal and Bay because she knew her father was in no shape to raise a child right now. Not that Cal was much better. She'd really struggled with bringing her brother in. She loved him and wanted to protect him, but she still barely knew how to raise her own child. A 12 year old brought a whole new set of issues.
She shook her head. "I guess you're right. Chance has stuff under control with Cassius so we can probably head down now," she agreed. She looked around the kitchen, seeing if there was anything else they needed. She already had water, snacks, sunscreen, and a first aid kit packed in her bag and she grabbed her keys from the counter as she moved towards the door. "Ready?" she asked, looking over at Bay as she slipped outside.
She'd been judged enough in high school and part of her worried the students would judge her now. After all, who wanted adult supervision during a beach party like this? Would they have to bust kids with alcohol? Or other activities like kissing or fighting? Would she have to actually have authority and be an adult? Ew, the thought of enforcing rules for kids almost as old as her was gross. It was easy with Cassius and Chance but she had actually authority over them, being the mother of one and the older sister of another.
These kids had no reason to actually listen to her. Maybe this job was bigger than she'd expected when she agreed to it.

Alexandria Fawn Huntress Daughter of Artemis
Alexandria wasn't much of someone that went to parties. Well, this was her first year at a school like this and she hadn't often gotten the chance to go to parties before. Would she have accepted it if she had been invited before? Possibly. It was hard to know what she'd actually do when it came to hypothetical situations. Hypothetical wasn't reality. She hadn't even been technically invited to this party, but had been told that it was open to all. She'd have Simon there and possibly be able to make friends with others.
She didn't have a ton of actual friends, but Alexandria supposed that was her fault. She had confidence in herself, and had no plans to change who she was, but she just wasn't as forward and outgoing as others may be. It was still a wonder to her that she had met and befriended Simon. Something about the boy had caused Alexandria to... relax more than she had since first arriving at Auradon and spending time with him was always a stress reliever. They often got to do fun things and she was constantly ready to throw new things at Simon, whether it was archery or rock climbing or hiking. Beyond the fun aspect of it all, he allowed her to be her and not have to worry about what he thought. Simon seemed to appreciate the real Alexandria and that was something that she would be eternally grateful to her friend for.
She always felt pressured to put on some show for everyone else, and maybe that was keeping her from showing her true colors and being who she wanted to be. Maybe she pulled back, knowing that most friends she made would be friends with that Alexandria, not the real one that was hiding under the shiny exterior that she put up. Simon didn't have to even try, and he got to see the actual her. It was weird, showing that side of her. She often did her best to put up an image of someone that Artemis would be proud of, and someone that people would expect to be the daughter of the goddess. After all, she likely wouldn't have survived for long if the goddess hadn't taken her in and raised her as her own.
Maybe that was a part of it. A desire to fit in. Her mother being a goddess (though she didn't know the status of her biological parents) set her apart from the majority of Auradon students and her lifestyle with Artemis made her feel a bit separated from the other godly children. Something about Simon made her feel like she fit in here, and she hoped that she would be able to expand her social network beyond him and find more friends within the next few years. Maybe even more friends that were like Simon and got to know the true Alexandria.
With thoughts of seeing him, Alexandria quickly changed to get ready for the beach. She had just slipped into a pair of silvery flip flops as she slipped out of her dorm room and headed outside. She quickly sent him a text, letting him know that she was ready and where he wanted to meet. She wouldn't bother him if he had decided to hang out with someone else. She was perfectly fine attending this party on her own. She just had a little more fun when she was with Simon or one of the others that had befriended her and managed to get at least a glimpse of the girl underneath.

Connor Pip Slade son of Copper and Penny Connor was fine. Absolutely and completely fine. That was why he was laying face first in the sand. What other purpose was there in life anyway? Surely, this is what his life lead to. Suffocation via beach sand, surrounded by other people, chatting, having a good time. It was a party, parties were fun, Connor was having fun.
The longer one laid down in sand, the less comfortable it was though. So much for any idea of creating a life sized sand castle which included all the proper furniture so one could properly live in such a place. The beds would be far too uncomfortable to sleep in, and Connor would place his bets that the sand blankets wouldn't do much to help. Perhaps he could layer them on the sand bed, as a cushion from the uncomfortable sand bed, but that would require him to enjoy sand blankets in the first place.
Maybe he could get into the business of crafting together comfortable sand beds and sand blankets. Find a way to make the comfortable and affordable to the public. That way, Connor could invest himself if a sand bed that he could comfortable lay in and scream into, face first as one does. Then, he could at least be comfortable doing what he did. Or recently started doing.
He was fairly certain that he hadn't done much of screaming into sand, pretending the world was still kind, until today.

Jada Nevaeh Wilde daughter of Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps Jada was on a mission. A high-maintenance, top secret mission. A mission to beat all other missions. Something that would require the utmost perfection of the skills involving sneaking around, talking her way out of things, combat skills to take out even the largest bear. She was going to be the best there ever was.
She was going to sneak some food out of the fridge.
It required a level of devious thinking since, if Jada were caught, it would lead to others getting food too and then the food Jada could consume would lessen on a base of everyone getting an equal amount of food. Sure, it was a little selfish, but she was feeling snackish and she wouldn't allow that to decrease the amount of food she should eat. Which, perhaps if Jada thought a little harder, she'd realize there is no decrease of food in this, only an unfair increase. But who was she to care about that.
She was crawling across the floor since, obviously that was the most sneaky way to do it. It worked for snakes, why not her? Plus, she'd look like she was one with the floor, not that anybody really looks at the floor in the first place. She was silent, sneaky, camouflage. A much sneakier chameleon.
As she slinked and slinked and slinked, and ignored the sound of her clothes catching on the ground, whether it was tile or carpet since either way some sound was being made, she darted up, behind a wall, having reached the kitchen. Looking both ways, she crouched and made large movements to start towards the fridge, looking to see if they had any chicken defrosting. Carefully grasping the fridge handle, she slowly tried to creak it open with no noise. She started looking through the fridge before reaching her hand towards her goal - defrosting chicken!

Damara Pallas Antikroúo Ágrios daughter of Demeter and Pan Damara was storming across the beach, fists at her sides. She was looking for someone she knew, someone who would temporarily allow her to scream her frustrations, and someone who would accept that she was right, and that the goddamn crab was wrong. She wasn't focused on anything but rage- red was winning over blue and it infuriated the goddess. It infuriated her so much, so so so much, she believed there was steam coming off over her. Maybe even a full-blown fire that she could use to boil a pot of water to promptly put that stupid little crustacean in.
She almost passed fellow goddess Helen in her storm, and unfortunately for the fellow Greek, Damara saw this as a good enough opportunity to rant. Buzzing past the girl, she grabbed her wrist in an attempt to spin her around slightly, face to face, red face to a probably much more normal looking face. Damara would have smiled, unfortunately, she didn't feel capable of it at the moment. Which was likely a good thing given if Damara smiled, it would turn to be something more of a furious, demonic, "you're-going-to-hell" kind of smile. Perhaps the grimace mixed with deepened eyebrows wasn't much better, but Damara didn't care.
"You don't like crustaceans, do you? Crabs specifically? Or are at least indifferent, cause it would suck if you do, because I want to officially deep fry those little beasts!" Damara spoke, "Another, totally, totally unrelated question- wait, can you discern lies from truth- no matter, is a banana a fruit or a berry? A fruit right? Because there is no way in hell it could be a berry. At all. Right?" Damara was desperate for confirmation.
There was a story behind it. An embarrassing one that she would hate to get into with anyone. The boys would poke fun at her- hell, they'd support the crab! She knew it, she just did. Especially that μεθυσμένος (methysménos). Stupid creatures stuck together. Arachnida, stupid, stupid creatures- more so than those crustaceans, were unfortunately in the same group as one another- arthropods. Officially the bane of her existence- she was certain Deon convinced his little scorpion buddies to have a chat with distantly related crabs, it was the only explanation she could think as to why a crab would argue with a human being- no, a goddess about bananas.
Not only would a crab have no idea about bananas or berries or fruit in general- it was a crab, it lived on the beach and the ocean and therefore knew nothing about plants- but, to argue that a banana was a berry? It wasn't right. Sure, she could agree with strawberries aren't berries, that was common fact, but, if a banana was a berry, shouldn't it be called bananaberries and not jsut bananas? It had no right to argue with her! She knew more than it! She could do math, speak multiple languages, her mother was literally Demeter, goddess of agriculture and harvest. She knew about plants. But apparently, the stupid thing didn't believe her. So yes, she was furious.
