Just jump in, you can be almost anything, because I'm not picky. The only thing I ask is you try and refrain from being animals.
A small, human-like creature was sitting by the edge of a river. He casually dangled his feet in the water, wearing nothing but a leaf strewn piece of clothing, to cover his more private region. He'd been on the move for days, trying to avoid coming into contact with anybody. It was simply his fear of something happening. Death didn't come easy for him, in fact, it was really hard to kill him. But that didn't mean he didn't feel pain, or more importantly, that he couldn't be tortured. If anything, torture was worse for him, because he couldn't die so easily. Sighing, the man knew he was safe, for now. Nobody was really hunting him, and he wanted to keep it that way.

The two were approaching the river, the woman looking more irritated than anything else and the man with her bearing a small smile.
He was excited to swim again, it felt like it had been forever since they'd had a quite day by the water. It wasn't the ocean, no, but it was still a clean and calm place to go. The woman, on the other hand, despised and feared the water. She usually took issue with being dragged out in the daylight to begin with - she was pale in all aspects and she burnt easily.
As they came up on the edge of the water, the man immediately began wading into the deeper center to swim as the woman stopped in her tracks, not even daring to stand on the muddy shore.

It wasn't too long after he'd settled down, before Nathan could hear the thunderous earthquakes known only as footsteps to the giants. The male came up rather close, oblivious to him. The female appeared to be oblivious too, but she also didn't get nearly as close.
While he had his chance, the small person ran across the beach, towards the woman, and the forest behind. The grains of sand were about the size of his head, and the mud was incredibly thick. It was definitely not the easiest terrain to traverse, but finally, he made it to the grass, just beyond the shore. Using it for shelter from the sun, and the sight of giants, he found himself getting lost. Generally, he'd try to travel the top of the grass, but in situations like this, the lower he was, the better.
Considering his sense of direction though, it was no surprise when he found himself turning right, and bumping into the female giant's foot.

The woman remained in place, watching the man swim with her arms crossed and a scowl on her face. The hood of her cowl was pulled over her head and hair to keep her from being in direct sunlight, but she was still uncomfortable. The man, content to finally be swimming again, would duck beneath the surface and reappear much further up- or down- stream, then make his way back again before repeating the action. Both were silent.
The woman had been as a statue, unmoving save for the slight tracking of her head to the man's movements, until she felt something small touch her foot. Her immediate assumption was a rodent or large spider, and she rose her foot with a sharp flick forward to make sure whatever it was didn't stay there for long. She looked down only after, her face turning very confused when she didn't see vermin but instead a tiny fellow that she'd just kicked into the sand.

His appearance near her foot didn't go unnoticed, apparently. He realized this as his body was suddenly launched into the air, landing him 500 feet or so, away from where he originally was. It was only really a foot, in giant measurements, but he'd lost so much progress. And what made him even more worried, was that if she noticed him, she might come looking for him, to finish him off.
Looking around, he did notice the man still in the water, virtually not caring about what was transpiring. However, he almost wished that it was the male giant. The person, named Nathan, had learned quite a lot from his time spent in the world. Most notably, the female of the species often tended to be the crueler of the two genders. While he hadn't had much experience with giants, he wasn't quite sure he wanted to find out.

The pale woman still looked very confused, trying to figure out what she'd kicked. She'd heard stories, from her own culture and from the man's, though she'd neglected to give them much thought. She'd never imagined she'd see a sprite or pixie, if that was even what she'd seen. She gave one quick look to check on the male still diving and swimming about before turning her gaze back to where she'd seen the small bit of sand kick up and she slowly stepped forward as she searched the area. A slight movement caught her eye, though it wasn't the tiny one, but instead it was a sand louse. Disgusting. Where there was one there tended to be more. She'd have to get her companion out of here quickly when he came back to shore.
Another small flash of movement pulled her attention and she turned her head quickly. She was rewarded with the sighed of the tiny humanoid retreating. Well at least she hadn't killed it.

Nathan looked around, before bolting. The woman was looking around for him, but he hoped she would forget about him shortly. After all, why would he be of much use or interest to her. He was just a small, insignificant creature in her world. But looking back, and feeling it as well, he noticed that she was slowly walking his way. Although, however slow she may be walking, her foot steps could travel hundreds of feet. She'd catch up to him in no time, and then he'd be toast. Looking around, he did notice there were some sand lice nearby. In fact, they were closer than he thought. They were actually heading towards him, leaving him no option but to run backwards, towards the female's foot, despite his wishes.
In his attempt to avoid them, he saw her foot rising up again, and felt panic flood him, as he looked up, seeing it dangling above him. It appeared she might not have noticed him running away from the lice as she started her step.

The woman saw the humanoid switch directions and she moved her foot to the side a few inches before placing it down. She lowered herself to the ground, trying to get a better look at him - she thought it was male, at least. It appeared he was still trying to flee. Not yet! She pounced, cupping her hands over the sand around him to try to make him stop.
The man in the water had noticed the woman's sudden interest in something on the ground and he stopped, wading to the shore. "What is it? Did you drop something?"

Out of sheer luck, the woman moved her foot at the last second. However, it coming down so close to him knocked Nathan off balance completely. He fell over, and to make matters worse, as he tried to get to his feet, the light around him suddenly disappeared. It was now replaced by two hands, cupping him, keeping him trapped him inside.
Fear was pouring out of him, and in a desperate effort to get free, Nathan began pounding his hands against hers, hoping she'd allow him to go free.

(Sorry its gotten hectic here)
The woman shook her head, but didn't give a verbal answer. She wasn't certain what to say just yet. She felt little bumps against her hand and she hesitated before scooping up the sand in her hands, hoping to take the tiny man with it. She lifted her hands as she stood back up before opening them. She shifted through the sand carefully, looking for the person.
The man walked up behind her, looking into her hand. He was curious she hadn't really answered him. "What is it?"

(It's fine. Sorry, it's been a long day.)
Nathan felt the ground beginning to come up from under him. And before he knew much more, he found himself trapped with the sand, in the hands of the female giant. Something bad was certainly upon him, and he began looking for ways to escape. Unfortunately, when he finally found his way out, it was a light in the sky. The woman opening her hands to try and find him.
As if matters couldn't get any worse, the male giant had appeared, and was beginning to question things. He needed to find a way out, and fast.

(Its alright, ^^ we've all been there)
The woman saw the small creature appear from under the sand and used her free hand to pick it up carefully, dropping the rest of the sand back on the ground and dusting her hand off on the side of her pants. The man's eyes widened as he looked the little humanoid over in curiosity and amazement. His expression faltered, however when he saw the look of fear on his face. Poor thing...
The woman was still very curious, cupping her free hand along the side of her other to keep the tiny being from falling or jumping.

(Thanks for understanding ^.^)
Terrified, Nathan was pulled from the sand, somewhat dangling from her hands. The rest of what she had picked up had fallen to the ground, and if he wasn't careful, he'd be next. He knew he wouldn't die from such a fall, but that didn't mean he wasn't afraid of falling anyways. Heights always worried him. Looking over, he saw the male, staring at him with wide eyes. This didn't help Nathan's natural fright.
Meanwhile, the female finally set him down, sort of. Leaving him trapped in the giant cup of her hand, unable to leave unless he were to climb.

The woman didn't seem to pick up on the fright of the tiny being, or the sudden nervous demeanor of the man until he placed a hand on her shoulder. She looked up from her hand and hesitated when she saw how upset the man had become. "Valk, please... Look at him." He mumbled quietly.
She turned her gaze back to the being in her palm and she frowned a bit as she realized how terribly she must have scared him. But she still had questions. She still wanted to know what he was. She gave a small nod to the man before speaking to the tiny being. "I'm sorry, I've let my curiosity get the best of me. What are you, little one?"

Still shivering, the male seemed to be helping. He seemed to be kind. It didn't mean he trusted either one of them, but they seemed to not know much about him. Or anything he's been through. Trying to calm himself down, he heard the booming voices above. One of them was named Valk, the female. Good to know.
As she apologized, and asked him questions, Nathan began to think carefully about what to do next. It might've been a stupid choice, but he decided to give her information, in the hopes of getting free. Gently placing his hands on hers, he began to think. "I am a Mini." His thoughts were sent from his brain, to hers, allowing him to communicate clearly. His voice would never carry otherwise.

Valk gave a slight turn of her head. "Mini? I should say so. But what exactly..." She looked at the man, curious if he knew.
The man only looked confused, not hearing the telepathic message. Valk hesitated a little before looking back at the tiny fellow in her palm. "What is a Mini, exactly?" She asked.

The Mini sitting in her palms wavered for a moment. Telling her too much could lead him into trouble. But not sharing enough could also cause problems. He had to be careful.
And so, after careful deliberation, he sent another telepathic message. "I was once human, like you. But there were events that happened, that made me a Mini. The difference between me and you, is that I don't die. I'm nearly invincible. I will die of old age one day, but besides that, I only have one weakness. No matter what you do to me, I'll survive."

The woman heard the message and started laughing. Not just at one thing, either. The man with her looked very confused once again before she calmed and spoke to him. "The little one's telepathic. He think's we're human, and that we're going to do something to him."
"What did you do to make him think that?" The man asked, a look of shock crossing his face.
"Well, catching him might have been a part of it." Valk replied with a grin.

Feeling less confident when she started laughing at him, he felt indignant when she began to speak as if he wasn't there. Although, in her defense, he couldn't exactly speak up. Gathering his thoughts though, he realized something with what she had said. They weren't human.
"So you guys aren't humans? You're just giants that look like humans?"Nathan was very unsure of what to think.
And apparently they weren't going to do something to him, or at least, that's what it sounded like.

"Well, we try to look human." Valk replied, offering a small smile of amusement. "Mika here is a selkie. He's a fae creature from the ocean." She said, gesturing to the man next to her. "And I'm Valkoinen, a witch."
The man paused as he realized he was being introduced before offering an apologetic smile to the small begin. "I'm sorry we frightened you. We truly mean no harm."

He looked at her with a funny face, never really hearing of a selkie before. But he knew there were creatures other than the normal in this world. However, when she said she was a witch, he tensed up.
The man's apologies didn't help Nathan much. He had thought he had had enough of witch's in his lifetime, but apparently not, as 3 years after he escaped, he managed to run into another one.

Valk hesitated when the Mini froze up and she tilted her head slightly. "You never gave us your name." She prompted, trying to keep the conversation going.
Mika seemed to pick up on his discomfort and he placed his hand forward. "Here, let me hold him." He said.
Valk was still confused, but she gave a nod and carefully placed the tiny being into the selkie's hand.

Now typically, Nathan didn't like men. Even if they were normally the gentler of the two species, it was different for human-esque creatures. However, he didn't want to be near Valk.
"My name is Nathan."He said briefly. He didn't know if he should share his story yet, but something told him it'd be better to keep that secret. He didn't know much about the two, but the fact that he was in the presence of a witch bothered him. Part of him was looking to escape.

Having spent years in the ocean learning to sense the movements of prey-fish by the slight disturbance they made in the water, Mika had developed excellent fine motor skills and he was quite good at realizing slight changes in others that conveyed fear or aggression. Again, he offered a small smile to the Mini. "I promise you're alright with us." He said, keeping his voice soft and even. "Is there somewhere you're trying to get to? Perhaps we can help? I mean, we clearly travel farther faster."

"I'm not really travelling anywhere..." Nathan began explaining, trying to relax in his hands. He seemed nicer than most, so he'd trust him for now. "I'm just moving, trying to find a place to stay permanently. Somewhere I'll be safe. Somewhere I can escape from my past." He didn't want to think too much about his past, but flashbacks kept popping into his head. He wondered if this Valk girl would pick up on what was going on with him or not. He personally hoped not.

Mika gave a small nod. "I understand. If you'd like, you can try staying with us. We're not really looking to stay in the area much longer, but it'd be no trouble to bring you along." He offered.
Valk was fairly oblivious to Nathan's concerns. She wasn't really good at reading people like Mika was. She was very used to doing things alone, as she was something of a recluse. Hearing Mika's offer, she perked up a bit. Hopefully this meant they'd be heading back to the house soon.

Taking a small sigh, Nathan considered this for a moment. Despite his thoughts towards Valk, he'd lived a rather lonely life. Perhaps he could use this.
"Alright, Mika, I'll come along with you. I trust you, well enough. What's the worst that could happen?" Nathan already knew the answer to that question, but he still thought it, because he didn't want to appear as if he was ungrateful. Truth was, companionship would be nice for a change.

Mika nodded again. "Alright. We'll have to set up an area where everything closer to your proportions so you won't need our help for anything." And so they wouldn't step on him...
"The previous owner of the house had a little doll house, but I don't know if that'll be great to travel with." Valk suggested. Even though she was more or less disinterested in their conversation, she was still listening. She was also still curious about what a Mini was. She'd have to ask later, she'd already frightened the tiny being enough that she'd had to pass him over to Mika for him to relax.

Nathan listened to him, preparing himself to interject. He wasn't sure if he really liked the idea of them accommodating to him. It felt kind of awkward actually.
Finally, when a doll house was mentioned, that broke the final straw. Nathan was kind of sensitive about his height, and he didn't like being treated like he needed to be babied. "While I appreciate your concern, don't worry about my proportions. I've lasted long enough making do with handling things at human proportions. It's not like I'm going to fall and die. Again, I don't really die." He didn't share what his weakness was, but he wasn't sure he wanted to anyways. It'd give them the ability to kill him, if they so wished.
