"I thought bears hibernated because they needed to, not because they were lazy." Firepaw mewed tipping her head to the side a bit, not quite understanding the joke, she turned her head to look at Mistwalker to see if she had answers, but it seemed like there weren't really much. Due to her lack of socialization, some jokes happened to go over the apprentice's head. Luckily, the conversation moved on as the older cats answered Firepaw's question. Great...now she had to explain why they should go to a certain area.
The young cat already had an idea of where she wanted to go, but she hadn't thought of a reason for it in particular. So, she mulled it over for a few heart beats. "Near the Unfrozen Lake." Firepaw finally said. "There's usually prey around there, because of the lush greens, and the water. And you said you wanted to swim once we were done, so we would be close enough to the lake that traveling there wouldn't take up too much of our time." The black female looked between her mentor and her brother, then back again. She hoped that was a good enough answer, and she silently hoped that Mistwalker didn't decide to go hunting in the lake. After all, Firepaw was still learning how to be a strong swimmer. She was okay, but due to her size, it was sometimes hard to fight the currents that came from time to time. She needed to grow a bit more before she could fully hunt in the water. But until then, swimming practice and hunting in the forest seemed good to her. Though, it was ultimately up to Mistwalker. __________________________________________~Firepaw~ Location: Noxclan Camp Interactions: Mistwalker and Stormwatcher (🇲🇴🇷🇷🇮🇬🇦🇳 ⥇ ) Mentions: N/A

Stormwatcher && Mistwalker && Firepaw
Stormwatcher shrugged awkwardly, regretting the joke now. Mistwalker touched her tail to his side and gave him a reassuring glance. He relaxed a bit, trying not to fuss over his joke missing the mark. Words couldn't describe how big of a support Mistwalker was for him, especially since she they had been through so much together and she seemed to understand. And with things she couldn't quite grasp, she did her best to try. He shot her a curt, thankful nod and they directed their attention back to Firepaw when she began to speak. The tomcat was a bit surprised, then scolded himself. Firepaw was intelligent, of course she would have thought of this. He thought her reasoning was very satisfactory, however there might be some other activity there. Perhaps it would be better to go to a less popular area? But that was for Mistwalker to decide. He looked to his sister, who giving Firepaw a look of approval.
" Very good, Firepaw! That seems like a good idea, but we might run into another patrol while we're there. So let's keep all our senses on the lookout so we don't interrupt them, okay? " Mistwalker asked, trying to be firm yet kind. She was proud of how her apprentice was growing, she would surely make a great trailer. She was almost sure she had overheard other cats planning to go near or around the lake, and didn't want to disturb any hunting sessions. So they had to be extra careful. One thing she personally disliked was having another cat ruin a catch!
" I agree with Mistwalker, let's head to the lake. I'd like to see how your hunting techniques are coming along, " Stormwatcher stood tall and kinked his tail forward, " So, lead the way, Firepaw! " He exclaimed happily, Mistwalker padding up next to him. She almost reminded him a bit of himself, in a strange way. She was clearly clever, Mistwalker was lucky to have such an apprentice. They looked at Firepaw expectantly, ready to follow the smaller cat whenever she was ready.

Firepaw noticed how Stormwatcher reacted to her comment, but didn't understand why. She couldn't help but feel a bit guilty for not understanding what he had meant. Had it been a joke? She shrugged the thought off as the two older cats praised her reasoning. Nodding as they said it would be a busier area. "There's a small clearing where squirrels and birds tend to be, because of falling nuts, that is usually not apart of patrols." The green-eyed she-cat said. She remembered her mother talking about it before, but she wasn't quite sure where it was.
As Stormwatcher explained that he'd like to see her hunting techniques, Firepaw couldn't help the new wave of anxiety wash over her. Had she even gotten better at her hunting technique? She pushed the thought away as she was told to lead. She had offered to do so, anyway, so it wasn't a surprise they were going to hold her up to that. The small she-cat padded forward past her mentor and mentor's brother, out into the forest. She took a few steps out before she broke into a gentle trot, raising her head to taste the air from time to time to make sure she was headed in the right direction.
Once they started to near the lake, Firepaw would actually stop the taste the air, pressing her nose to the ground on occasion to get a more concentrated sent. It was definitely squirrel. She continued forward, her gait slowly to a gentle walk, her paws almost silent against the forest floor. Her mother had always said that they regretted not calling her Silentkit. Sneaking was one of her specialties. Finally, after thinking that she may have been lost, Firepaw saw the clearing that she'd been talking about. She turned to look at Mistwalker and Stormwatcher. "Do you want me to just try and catch something or do you want to work together?" She really wasn't sure what now. But it was clear she was excited, because she was asking questions. Firepaw, the anti-social, silent cat was incredibly inquisitive when she was happy about learning something. __________________________________________~Firepaw~ Location: Forest Interactions: Mistwalker and Stormwatcher (🇲🇴🇷🇷🇮🇬🇦🇳 ⥇ ) Mentions: N/A

Cloverpaw had just begun the meticulous process of cleaning her fur when her mentor approached her. She rolled her head up to look at him, a dull look in her eyes that spoke of her disinterest in him. Thymeskip was nice, and respectable, and he was a good mentor - all things that she found incredibly annoying. In her own eyes, his nice nature was a weakness, and she found it loathsome that he tried to gain her friendship. He had been training her for a couple moons now, and throughout that time the tom had learned that the shecat was so stubborn that she was almost impossible to teach. She showed talent in the field of hunting prey on the mountains, but her own arrogance was her down fall. Cloverpaw knew she didn't need to improve. She thought that this whole 'training' thing was just a waste of time, she was born with the instinct to hunt and fight, she didn't need to waste a bunch of moons learning what she already knew. All of this was, of course, not true. Cloverpaw was terrible at swimming, Cloverpaw was reckless in fighting. But she wouldn't listen to reason, and would in fact snap whenever Thymeskip would try to correct her. Their relationship did not start off on the right paw, and it didn't seem like it was ever going to improve. "I don't really care." She answered unamused. She went back to cleaning her fur, lifting one small paw to give it a swift lick as she dragged it over her ear. "You're the mentor here, aren't you supposed to be guiding me?" Oof. What was her problem? This behavior was nothing new. No wonder Cloverpaw was always seen sitting alone.
(I apologize in advance for how rude she is. xD Feel free to teach her a lesson.)

Lucky for Cloverpaw, Thymeskip was a very patient mentor, which was most likely why he had been assigned such a stubborn apprentice. The Treader wasn't deterred by the younger cat's disinterested stare, in fact he almost had to keep his whiskers from twitching with amusement. Where most mentors may have been annoyed by their apprentice's blatant disrespect, Thymeskip found it rather interesting and funny. His pride was not so fragile to be hurt by a younger cats naivety. The tom had the say in whether or not the she-cat would be able to become a full fledged Treader when the time came, and it was up to Cloverpaw to decide to mature enough to let that time come. Yes, skill and technique were important to warriors, but more than that it was the ability to know that sometimes you fall short, sometimes you need to be corrected, sometimes you're wrong. These were all things that Cloverpaw did not accept, but more than that, she did not accept them with a complete and total lack of grace.
Thymeskip gave a nod at Cloverpaw's words. "Yes, true, but I was hoping that you had learned enough to at least make this decision for yourself. I guess there are still many, many lessons to teach you." The tom sighed, though it was a bit exaggerated. He was teasing her stubborn attitude. "We'll practice your swimming today then." Thymeskip decided. "Shall we?" He nodded toward the entrance of the camp. There was no reason for her to finish cleaning her pelt if they were just going to go swimming anyway.
The tom led the way out of camp and down toward the Unfrozen Lake. He remained silent for the most part. "Cloverpaw," he finally spoke. "What are you hoping to get out of today's training?" He asked, looking over at the she-cat. He had told her early on that she should go into every training session with the hopes of learning something new, or reaching a new goal. There was no need to have a training session if she was just going to assume nothing came of it. After a moon and a half of asking her that question every day, he had stopped. He figured he might as well start once again now. She had learned much, and improved quite a lot, and though she would refuse that and say she'd always known and always been that good, swimming was on of her short comings, so it was important for her to have a set goal. _____________________________________________

Owlswoop- he/him - On patrol with Dimhaze
"Dida see that, Dimhaze?!" The tom exclaimed as he bounded forward, eyes on the sky. "I think that was a whole patrol of bats!" He stopped after the bat's disappeared and squinted at the sky, hoping for the swarm to circle back again. To his disappointment, the bats were nowhere to be found. His tail twitched but he didn't let bats damper his mood. He was more worried about keeping Dimhaze's mood up right now.
He was very proud he had gotten the other tom to come out with him. There would have been no surprise if his friend would have wanted to sulk in camp until the moon was high. As if Owlswoop would let him do that! The minute he saw the black tom emerge from the den, he had swooped down and convinced the tom to go on a little border-hunting patrol, thing. Well, more like a whined to Dimhaze that there was no patrol for him to go on and he didn't have a little apprentice to take care of, so he had nothing to do and it was awful, help me Dimhaze. He wasn't sure who suggested this little outing, probably him, but everything was better now.
Out of camp, Owlswoop's happiness rose and he was bounding everywhere, occasionally looking back to make sure he hadn't lost his friend. There was no more whining but chirping as he tried to call the bats back. He even tried climbing a tree but there wasn't even a wing. He padded back to his companion, head low and tail dragging behind him.
"I'm sorry Dimhaze. Seems the bats were scared off by your brooding aura." He said with a sigh. His tail lightly brushed against the tom's side as if consoling him. "I know. I know. You are upset. But!" He suddenly straightened up and lifted his tail, "We will find those bats, even if it takes us until dawn." He looked to his friend for a reaction.
(I feel like I captured him perfectly yet went overboard. So sorry to poor Dim. )

Life was pain... An endless cycle of mundane, useless interaction with people you'll never truly make connections with. A series of menial tasks that take up your time, wasting it, until the day we all eventually look towards, you death day. Dimhaze supposed anything that brought that time closer was something to look forward to. At least it distracted him from the pain of seeing others at camp, smiling, beaming with life. Life... Was pain...
Why was Dimhaze so emotional? With the way he acted, it was expected that he had gone through some great suffrage. But, he didn't. From what Owlswoop remembered (and he could make a good recount, the two of them had been close since their years as kits) nothing major had happened in Dimhaze's life, nothing to make him as soulless as he was acting. It all just seemed to happen one day when they were apprentice's. The black tom woke up one day and decided that the world hated him, and he should hate it back. Now the tom only spoke in bleak one liners, with a seemingly exaggerated, dramatic voice. Truth be told... It was kind of funny.
"I wish I could be like them..." A sigh shook through his little chest, he lowered his head and scuffed at a leaf that had crossed his path. The leaf was red... Like his heart that he wished to spill upon the forest floor. "Just fly away from here... The open sky casting my silhouette against the ground so far bellow." He looked up towards the sky, bleeding it's colors of purples and blues and dark navy across the sky. "Up there, your problems must seem so small, and distant. You have the freedom to go wherever... But alas." He shook his head, not even looking towards his companion. "I am a prisoner, paws shackled to the very ground I can not escape." He finished his... poem? Or whatever you could call it, with another sigh, flipping his head over his shoulder dramatically. And sitting in the small silence created from his own confusing words. He seemed to be waiting for Owlswoop to say something, maybe awe in wonder at his words.

Owlswoop- he/him - On patrol with Dimhaze
Owlswoop wasn't completely sure if the tom next to him had gotten the joke, but he was glad Dimhaze seemed to be enjoying himself in his own way. The words Dimhaze said were always so pretty and poetic. The tom had a gift with words. Maybe a bit sad towards the end, but they were interacting. Owlswoop was glad to know his friend had to energy to recite poems while wondering around the forest. The silent days in camp when the other tom wouldn't leave his nest were the worst.
"I'm glad I'm not the only one who wanted to have wings. I even had a dream once where I was flying. I could see camp with everyone walking about. Sometimes I would fly over the mountain and just fly." His eyes lit up as he recalled his dream. It was a bit upsetting he wouldn't have wings but hey, he can' win everything. He would have to settle for leaping around.
"But I don't think you would be a bat." He stated, interrupting the short silence. "I would be an owl, of course, one of those big ones too. You could be an owl or some kind of falcon. None of those really suit you though." He hummed as he continued to think, surprisingly silent as he considered his opinions. "Maybe a bat would work for you. They're small, you're kinda small. They are fuzzy and black, you are fuzzy and bat. They just really don't sound like you." He frowned, bothered by not finding a creature which suited his friend. He shook his head. No time to get hung up on the small details.
"Well, I promise if you were a bat and I was an owl, I wouldn't eat you." He finished with a crooked grin plastered on his face.

[ I'm so sorry for the late reply! I should be more active from today until saturday/sunday ]SHORTCLOUD . { accompanied by Snakepaw, by the lake } zero If Shortcloud's fur could turn beet red with embarrassment, it would. He was flustered over his accidental slip which made him, a full fledged treader, look like an apprentice. He did his best to keep silent instead of going on an anxious tangent. Mentioning his mistakes now wouldn't be worth the trouble anyways.
Seeing that Snakepaw had put her paw down, his green eyes flickered over the dark she-cat before hearing her meow in response."I don't think it looked like nothing much, but I suppose I can take your word for it," the tomcat meowed, his gaze trailing after hers briefly. She seemed to have an interest in the lake as any treader apprentice would. Based on what Shortcloud had witnessed, he knew she was out here, alone and trying to spruce up her skills.
He understood, after all, he was once like Snakepaw and that wasn't as many moons ago as it felt it was. The treader carefully padded closer to her as he delicately chose his words to answer her question. "No patrols were on their way out since I left camp," he began, tail curling around his sandy paws. "I thought it would be clever to get a head start on hunting before all the other treaders and their apprentices showed, but it seems that you beat me here. Why isn't Wolfshadow with you? Apprentices aren't allowed out of camp alone and I think you're smart enough to know that."
Shortcloud bit his tongue quickly, realizing that it wasn't the best idea to call Snakepaw out on her rebellious act, but he couldn't help it. It was his nature to point out the obvious and make it known when, really, there was no need to speak of it. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that," he apologized almost instanteously. "Since Wolfshadow isn't here, mind telling me what's your dilemma?"

Stormwatcher && Mistwalker && Firepaw
A glimmer of interest sparked in Mistwalker's eyes when she heard Firepaw's reply. It sounded familiar, maybe she had been there once or twice. Firepaw was correct, it wasn't often a part of patrols despite the perfect hunting nature of the area. Perhaps it was just too out of the way for some. She gave her apprentice an approving nod. She swiftly followed behind her, making sure Stormwatcher was by her side. Mistwalker opened her mouth, letting herself scent the air as she ran. Just in case, she wanted to make sure to smell anything possibly dangerous before they saw it. Stormwatcher glanced over to her, starting to feel a bit jittery. Was he really of help here? He was having some fun, but it was obvious Mistwalker and Firepaw would be alright alone. He tried to clear his thoughts, it wasn't a time to let himself spiral into a negative headspace. Instead, he tried to focus on hunt exercise ideas. Maybe he could suggest stealth as another lesson they could do. Yeah, that sounds good! He praised himself, and didn't even realize Mistwalker and Firepaw had stopped until it was too late. He hadn't yet stopped and found himself running straight into a bush.
" Uh-huuufff! " The wind was knocked out of him as he slammed into the bush's branches, his attempts to stop much too late. He let out a hiss of frustration and pain as the small branches poked his skin and pelt. He heard Mistwalker start to wheeze with laughter as he tried to get out of the tangled foliage. He gained his bearings and winced as he felt a few small, stinging cuts on his side. He skidded and scrambled out, doing his best to stand at his paws. He pulled his tail up in a crooked position, but his attempt at recovery was in vain. Mistwalker was now howling at laughter at the sight of his thick pelt, having caught many of the prickly twigs and small leaves. His fur was messy and looking as if he had just woken up in a squirrel's tree. He felt his entire being heat up and almost wanted to melt into the ground. He did the only thing he could think of. He pulled out the last resort, " And that's an example of how not to go on hunting patrol! " If his paws were flexible enough and he had opposable thumbs, he would have been doing finger guns at Firepaw. Instead, he was satisfied with giving her a goofy look. Mistwalker still hadn't calmed down, and was currently sitting down, catching her breath but still letting out dry barks of laughter in-between.
As soon as the older she-cat was able to talk, she turned to Firepaw, " I'm sorry, why don't you go ahead and give us your best shot? Just go for whatever you see first, " She let out another hearty wheeze as she got to her paws, " Stormwatcher and I will be right behind you, as soon as we recover.. " She held back more laughter as she took another look at Stormwatcher's coat, which he was now trying to clean. Gently pulling twigs from his shoulder and lapping at the fur to make it smooth again. He shot Firepaw an apologetic look, " Go ahead! Don't worry about us, just do your best! "

Firepaw's eyes widened when she heard Stormwatcher run into the bush. She turned around, her fur poofing out a bit. The young apprentice had been startled by the sudden sound. As she realized that it was just the older tom-cat, she relaxed a bit. The black she-cat looked at her mentor, who was laughing heartily at her brother, before turning her attention back to Stormwatcher. Firepaw sat down, curling her tail around her paws neatly. The small she-cat had a kind of mature dignity to her that most cats her age, and even older, didn't have. It probably came with the trauma that she'd faced at a young age. Nonetheless, her whiskers did twitch a bit in amusement at the sight of the older cats acting the way they did. It was a bit refreshing to see that there was nothing shameful about making a mistake like Stormwatcher had, or laughing like Mistwalker was. It was okay to not be so serious all the time. Still, Firepaw stayed more or less serious about the situation, her green eyes tracing over the tom to make sure he was alright before he met his gaze, twitching her whiskers in amusement once more. "I thought I was supposed to be learning what to do, not what not to do." She teased before pushing herself back into a standing position.
Firepaw crouched down into a hunter's prowl as she inched forward into the clearing. Her sharp eyes slowly trailed over the open space as she opened her mouth a bit to taste the air, pin pointing where some of the prey may have been hiding under the leaves on the ground. Her paws steps were almost silent. If there was one natural skill that Firepaw had it was stealth. Her ginger paws slowly slid across the ground, quiet as a shadow, as she pinpointed the exact piece of prey she wanted; a mouse. As she got closer, Firepaw's tail twitched, she put her weight back on her haunches, and leaped. Her back paws slipped on the loose leaves, and she had misjudged the distance between her and the mouse. She fell short, landing badly due to her back paws slipping. The mouse started to scurry away. Firepaw hurried after it, but having to regain her footing, it was impossible to catch up to the small creature.
Finally, Firepaw gave up. She took a deep breath, shook her fur out, as leaves had started to stick to her long, thick pelt. So, after losing one piece of prey, the young cat went right back into her hunting crouch, remaining perfectly still, ears pricked, and eyes scanning. If she waited long enough, she knew something else would come. Just a little longer... there. She pounced, claws digging into the flesh of the mouse that had felt safe enough to reemerge after Firepaw had waited so still and silently. She quickly killed it, picking it up with her teeth, she brought it back to the warriors, laying it down on the ground. She looked up at the two warriors, looking between them, waiting for them to critique her. __________________________________________~Firepaw~ Location: Forest Interactions: Mistwalker and Stormwatcher (🇲🇴🇷🇷🇮🇬🇦🇳 ⥇ ) Mentions: N/A

Twitching their tail, the feline nodded, dipping their head. They needed to improve on their skills, and Minnowpaw understood that. Looking at Spiderfern with wide blue eyes, Minnowpaw twitched their tail. "Huntin' by th'lake, gotcha, Spiderfern." It seemed as if the silver and white tabby was okay with the criticism- or they just didn't grow phased by it all. With a twitch of their tail, the apprentice quickly followed after Spiderfern to the warrior named Echobounce that was in the camp. Dipping their head respectfully, Minnowpaw purred. "G'night, Echobounce!" They chirped happily, bouncing around their mentor as if they were more than ready to actually head out into the forest. "We're huntin' by th'lake today! I'm gonna catch a fish!" The young cat added on quickly.
Of course, their confidence was probably over the top, but Minnowpaw believed that if they didn't believe in something, they wouldn't achieve it. So, believing that they would catch a fish, would hopefully be true and actually happen. Minnowpaw wanted nothing more than to let Spiderfern know that they could eventually catch something from the water. Minnowpaw tried their hardest to calm down after, wanting to look a little more full treader like, instead of like a complete apprentice- kitten even, if you think about it. Stopping beside Spiderfern, Minnowpaw puffed out their chest and licked down the tufts that seemed to stick out slightly. "Sorry, Spiderfern, I'm jus' very excited to do m'best." The tabby apprentice let their blue eyes trail up to look at their mentor, blinking kindly. "Who else are we takin' with us? Maybe we can take uh... um," Minnowpaw frowned, trying their hardest to think of a possible cat that'd come with them- more specifically a trailer, as Spiderfern stated. "Stagwatcher? Um, Mistwalker? Ashcreek? I dunno." Minnowpaw fumbled over names, but tried their hardest to help, despite not being asked.
- Red - noxclan border | 𝘊𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘴𝘣𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘮 ꕤ { accompanied by: smoke that rises on mountain } The sun had set over head, the final sights of sunshine falling behind the horizon. The caramel colored pelt that covered Red's entirety bristled with anxiety as he padded a few steps behind the darker pelt that belonged to none other than the Tribe molly that he had run in to on his own way away from home. The two had met a few days away from two-leg place- where Red was born. He hadn't the clue that this cat knew so much about living in the wild, but now, she was teaching him how to live for himself. He remembered she had mentioned wanting to find a new life away from where she was born. Red knew how she felt, and practically begged her to tag along on the journey. Of course, there was hesitation at the beginning, but Smoke had eventually agreed and let Red join her on her travels. Now, the two were standing at the border of a forest- it smelled of many cats. Red couldn't help his anxious feeling as he carefully pressed close to Smoke. She was like and older sister to him, now, and he thanked her for letting him tag along. He sighed and looked nervously at the dark pelted molly. "Smoke? Are we sure this is the place you're looking for?" He asked softly. His amber eyes shifted to look around the territory. "What if these cats aren't friendly? What if they won't take you in?" Red hadn't considered joining anyones ranks himself- and he probably would depart once Smoke found her own new home.
Blinking slowly, Red tried his hardest to calm his nervousness. He was on edge- it was dark, and despite travelling most of the time in the dark, the caramel colored tabby couldn't help but feel anxious. He wasn't sure who these cats would be. If they would be accepting of them- if they'd even show themselves. What if they were there all night and got ambushed in the morning instead? Red shut his eyes and took in a small breath before releasing it, a sigh leaving his maw. "Please, lets be careful, Smoke. I know you taught me a lot- hunting and fighting moves combined- but we don't know what kind of cats or clan we're dealing with. If they'll even be friendly... Or if they're even up this late." He mewed softly, twitching his whiskers as he glanced back at the silver and black mackerel tabby molly, amber eyes glittering with the emotions he felt.
- Thistlesnap - place | zero { accompanied by: batpaw }
As the sun set, Thistlesnap awoke. Much like most of the clan, this molly was up and at 'em as soon as the sun fell behind the trees. While Bramblestorm was still awake and organizing way ahead of when the Trailer got up, Thistlesnap was still some of the few experienced cats in the clan that tended to rise earlier. Slipping out of the trailers den, the lithe, thick furred lilac ticked tabby stretched over the earth beneath her paws, ears twitching and green eyes flashing thoughtfully as they shifted to glance at the apprentice den. Spotting Spiderfern and Minnowpaw, Thistlesnap decided that it'd be a good time to get a head start with hunting practice for her own apprentice, Batpaw. The grumpy tom apprentice wouldn't be happy to get up at the crack of night, but hey, Thistlesnap decided what they did, and she wanted to take the dark brown tom out on a hunting practice patrol thing. Snorting, she lumbered her way over, not minding how heavy she set her paws. It'd do the apprentices good to get up early so their mentors didn't snap. Poking her lilac furred head inside, her tongue licked over her maw in thought as she peered over every tabby and solid pelt before her green eyes landed on her apprentices. Batpaw seemed to be sound asleep, and the nest beside him, Snakepaw's she assumed, was empty. Thistlesnap wondered where the apprentice might be before shrugging. Snakepaw wasn't her apprentice, but she made note to look out for her when she went out of the camp with Batpaw, to make sure Snakepaw was okay, and see if she was alone or possibly with a warrior.
Rolling her eyes, Thistlesnap flicked her tail before speaking. "Batpaw! It's about time you got up, now. We have some training to do, and sleeping isn't going to get you any closer to earning your full trailer name, now is it?" The molly spoke up. She didn't mind if her voice woke up the others as she watched the small Applepaw and Obsidianpaw stir at the sound. She chuckled before snorting. "Best you all get up before your mentors chew your ears off. It's the crack of night." She announced before peering at Batpaw once again. She waited a second more before stepping away from the den and waiting impatiently for the tom to lumber out to join her, so they could talk about what Thistlesnap had planned for the day. A hunting trip, taking care of the elders bedding, and hopefully a trail walk or patrol of the borders with a few others. Twitching her tail, Thistlesnap sat down and groomed her chest fur to look a little neater as she waited. Oh boy, today's going to be a loooong night. She thought with a small sigh.

Snakepaw- She/her - By the lake with Shortcloud - Sand
Snakepaw shuffled her paws into the sand as the treader approached. Somehow, she felt like he would be able to see the truth in her fur if he got close enough. Not like what she was doing was a bad thing, she argued with herself. She was bettering herself, which was for the good of the clan. Nothing wrong with that. Of course, Shortcloud found the one little problem with her actions.
Her ears twitched back. She was two moons away from becoming a treader. She would consider herself a failure if she couldn't catch a couple fish without guidance. She did realize she didn't caught a morsel yet, but she was training, not fishing. Still, she knew it was no excuse and was glad when the tom continued.
She wasn't sure if she trusted Shortcloud. Yes, the tom was a member of the clan and a fellow treader. But shame filtered through her at the thought of admitting a weakness. She didn't want anyone to know. She didn't want any cat, especially her mentor or her family, to think she was incompetent. Maybe that's why Shortcloud would be a better option, she considered. She would never admit a fault to Wolfshadow and her family wouldn't be able to help. She needed someone to talk to and this tom was the best option.
"I'm trying to train for the trials. They are in two moons and ice will be covering the lake. So I'll need to get under and back up as soon as possible." She started, looking at her paws she kneaded her frustrations into the sand, "I was trying to do the swift dive and kick off of the bottom of the lake. But I don't think it's working." The admitted the last part bitterly with tail tip twitching. "I'll just change it. Change the method or speed or something. It's fine." She swiftly added, realizing she did not want to tom to think she had given up or was beaten.

Not that i know of. Numbers are pretty even as of now, so i think you're welcome to join as anything. We just aren't accepting queens and kits. And like every clan, we could do for some elders too.

SHORTCLOUD . { accompanied by Snakepaw, by the lake } zero
Shortcloud was beyond lucky that Snakepaw had decided to confide in him instead of being tight-lipped like he thought she would have chose. He could see her reasons for not trusting him, especially since her mentor was his littermate and that he was a treader too, so there was room for him to judge every movement she made. However, he wouldn't dare do that now mainly because she was opening up to him and that it wasn't his "style."
His pale eyes flickered across the lake while the treader apprentice began to voice her frustrations with her training which was typical of any apprentice, treader, trailer, or even a medicine cat. No wonder she had left camp undetected, she didn't want any cat to know what she was doing and where she was going. A part of him sympathized for the dark she-cat as he too had once gone through similar experiences. He quickly held his tongue when he heard her mention that he trials were in two moons-- he hadn't realized that they were so close yet so far away.
"You don't have to change the method or speed unless you're not comfortable with it," he meowed, pausing for a moment to think. A hunt would be useless now if Bramblestorm was sending patrols out. Plus, he and Snakepaw had a cover of sorts if they needed one in case another treader came along and questioned them being out of camp so early. "If you want, Snakepaw, I can help you practice or show you how a swift dive is done, but you don't have to accept my help if you don't want to."

Batpaw- He/him - Apprentices' den - -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊
Warmth. The tom purred as he slept surrounded by warm fur and familiar scents of his family. Everything was right and he was perfectly at peace. Nothing was amiss. A harsh voice shattered the serenity.
"Great Forgotten ones, Snakepaw. Wake me up one more time and I will rip off all of your fur. I do not want to train with you at this Great Beast forsaken time." He grumbled, not opening his eyes. When the voice continued, he turned around, hoping to escape the disturbance. He slowly became aware the voice was a little different than his sister's. This one was so much louder. Snakepaw usually tried to keep quiet. Then which piece of fox-dung was disturbing the apprentices' den? His bet was Littlepaw or Magpiepaw. He rolled over and cracked his eyes open.
Oh, the voice belonged to his mentor. The tom's ears flatted against his skull and he squeezed his eyes shut. He was mortified. Every apprentice must hate him and his den-waking mentor. He wanted to disappear into the moss. Honestly, he would have preferred his sister to have woken him up to go training this morning than deal with this. At least then Thistlesnap would have yelled at him somewhere a little more private.
Well, he had to get up soon. If he remained in his nest any longer, she would likely to come back and wake even more cats. Batpaw rose to his paws and started to make his way towards the entrance of the den. He dipped his head to every awake cat he passed. and whispered an apology. Hopefully, most will have forgiven him by the afternoon. He exited the den with a small frown.
"Good morning." He said with thinly veiled frustration. At the beginning of his apprenticeship, he had been polite and quiet in an attempt to be the perfect apprentice. The act fell apart pretty quickly when Batpaw had messed up a leap in his second moon of apprenticeship and cursed up a storm. He wasn't sure how much Thistlesnap had heard but the damage was done. Now he really only kept up appearances in camp.
"What are we doing today?" The tom asked before he started to groom.

Update - - 11/7/18
Hello everyone! I appreciate your patience with my absence. School has been very stressful lately, with a specific teacher causing me serious issues that could lead to me not being able to go to school. As such, my motivation and muse has been lacking lately. I will attempt to get on more, but please bear with me for the time being. Thank you!
You're all showing very nice skills with you're writing! I'm excited for how this Clan will go in the future!
Thank you all for your patience and interest!

It had been several moons since Smoke had left her tribe, and yet, she still did not feel any closer to finding her sense of self that she sought after. It was a hard goal to chase, especially because Smoke didn't know when she knew she would feel that sort of tranquility. But, she held her head up high, and pretended as though she were like one of the Masters back home. She kept telling herself time and time again that if you act like it long enough, eventually you'll just... Be it. That wasn't working out for her super well so far...
Smoke brought her attention back to Red, watching him nervously bumble his way through his sentences, fearful (with good reason) of the way the newcomers would treat them. Smoke didn't know anything about where they were going, she only knew the tales of her tribe, of clans of cats that lived together in one solitary place. Cats that defended one another, provided for one another, like one big family. There were legends of these clans, legends that told of wars that spanned years, of heroic cats leading an army to fight for good, and most interesting of all, that they worshiped a collection of starry-pelted cats that guided their way. Smoke had no idea if any of it were true, and she didn't know how many clans were out there, or if they all carried the same beliefs and principals, she was only told that several moons to the setting sun, there was a clan.
"Fear not," Smoke said, resting her tail gently on the cats shoulder. Red's own story of where he came from was... baffling to the molly. She couldn't even begin to understand what he had meant by two-legs, or two-leg nests, or the pellet food that he ate. She imagined furless monsters that walked on two legs, and it frightened her. Though, Red had no horror stories to tell, in fact he had seemed to care for what he called his 'owners'. Smoke still couldn't wrap her head around it, but she knew one thing. If he could deal with being around those things, he would be okay to visit the clan. "What reason do they have to show us hostility? We are all on this soil together, we are all fending for our own rights. I can see no reason to fight." She murmured calmly.
Her movement paused when they reached a strong, and sudden smell. Smoke tilted her head and drank in the smell of the air. The smell of other cats was strong now, very strong. She lowered her nose to the ground, and smelt along a line, a marking. "They are close now. Do you smell it?" She turned back to the caramel colored tom.
