When your world Crumbles.
Introduction... Fate has always had a way of throwing everything in its arsenal in our direction. Making a game of seeing just how far we can be pushed before everything comes crumbling down, yet our history alone is evidence that our cats don't stay down for very long. Its not in our nature. But no matter how many times we have dragged ourselves from the dust, life seems always to find another punch to throw our way. And the most recent one doesn't appear to be something that we can come back from, and it is one which has driven a rift through the clan. Families find themselves torn apart, loved ones betray on another and a civil war the likes of nothing anyone has seen before begins to turn the clan into chaos, And in the depths of the shadows and crevices of our very land, something far darker begins to etch itself across our world. Carving itself into our very cats, and shows no promise of ever releasing its grip. And when the world seems to be at an end, which side of the line will you find yourself on?
1. The Basics. The Forum Rules are there for a reason, to keep all users happy and safe on this site, as a result the following these is not negotiable. The failure to comply with any and every rule enforced by the forums will result in disciplinary action.
2. Thread Requirements. Should you wish to join this little Clan, I ask that joiners be capable of maintaining a literacy standard of at least 6 lines per character per post. Unfortunately, if you don't feel able to achieve this I fear this might be the Clan for you. I don't expect essays worth of writing, but please give something of quality we can reply to. Grammar and spelling need not be absolutely perfect, however, I do ask you try to be legible.
3. Activity. We all have lives of course, and as a result of this I understand that most aren't able to be on every moment of every waking day, however, I do ask that if you wish to join you be reasonably active. At least 3 days a week for normal joiners, and those intending to join as cats key to the thread, please try for at least 5 days a week. If you need to take a leave of absence, please let me know I will understand!
4. Joining. Despite having a list of rules the length of my arm, I am actually rather nice so please don't be put off from joining! If you would like to make my day by doing so, I ask of you a couple of things first. Namely that when you initially join that you please do so with a minimum of two characters of each gender to help maintain a reasonable gender ratio. It is preferred where possible you try to add a dark forest character into the mix to help with adding numbers to each side for plot purposes, so for every three characters you make I ask that one of them be of dark forest leaning. So I know you have read my rules, please add Let the Chaos Begin into the other part of your form, which you can just post onto this thread as there is no joining page.
5. Characters. The best part of the forums, or at least in my opinion, is the artistic license and degree of creativity we get to place into the creation of our lovely characters. I do aim to allow joiners a degree of freedom in creating their characters, and wont dictate absolute realism in terms of genetics and names. I do, however, request that you a- don't choose names completely unrealistic to the understanding of a cat, i.e. Sofawhisker, Hamsterflower, etc, and b- you don't give your cats outlandish features like pink fur, wings, etc. LGBT+ characters are quite welcome, however, I do ask that you don't join as cats with backgrounds as rogues, kittypets or loners etc.
6. Roleplaying. A follow on from the realism requested in the last rule, I request that when you roleplay you understand the context of the life of a warrior and incorporate such into the way you roleplay. Whilst I wont ask that you constantly kill off your characters, understand that no cat is perfect and all have flaws. As a result they will lose battles, fail at hunts etc. In short, I request you don't act as a Mary Sue in your roleplaying, nor that you God=Mode in roleplay.
7. Bloodlines. Admittedly this is a rule stolen from my research looking into other existing and previous clans, so I lay no claims to it but felt it was a good idea. As to help with the development of the clan, as it is meant to have existed a reasonable length of time. Please find family members for your cats amongst the clan's existing allegiances, i.e. where your cats share familiar traits with another member's, ask if they can share a bloodline. Whilst I wont make you, I thought it might be interesting to develop that sort of dynamic. However, please don't join as members of your own family.
8. Fun. Again, I'm not a horrible person just someone who loves to roleplay and make friends so please don't let my rules put you off. I love creating all sorts of different drama, and if you're into that you will likely quite enjoy this thread! Ask questions if ever uncertain, create as much drama and plotlines as you'd like and in general just have fun here! That's why we're all here at the end of the day.
Character Name. Describe your character's appearance and personality, ensuring you include both flaws and strengths and aiming to make it a minimum of 6 lines long. @screenname Rank Bloodlines and Relationships Other

And Shadows creep at every turn. About the Clan... Adaptation has been one of the key factors as to why we have been able to survive in our home as long as we have, the cold weather, fast running waters and even faster running prey, most wouldn't be able to carve themselves a life here. But CopseClan have managed for more generations than any cat is capable of counting. Among these adaptations the most key include our smaller but muscular frames, strong in terms of being able to swim against our strong currents, but speedy to make chase of rabbits and hares. Larger cats aren't unheard of, and a couple of bloodlines are known for bearing especially massive cats, however, these don't tend to fare as well on our land as others might, though with the help of the clan none are left to suffer alone. Blending in with the territory around us is further key, and our land is made up largely of greens, browns and the colours of the trees and moors bleeding into one another. As a result, to best camoflague themselves against this backdrop, the colours most beneficial to our pelts include those of darker themes. i.e. blacks, greys, reds and browns as to help hide from those who might do us harm, and stalk those intended as dinner. Markings are more common than solid pelts, again to help with the purposes of blending in and remaining hidden, however, both lighter colours and markless cats aren't unheard of, but often find themselves at a distinct disadvantage compared to most. However, in order to survive against the cold of our land and the often poor weather that plagues us and floods our rivers, thicker coats are pretty much essential. Life on the blistery moors and flooded copses isn't always an easy one, and fate has a way of playing tricks on our minds and our paws. But the clan has long learned that the key to survival has been sticking together and ensuring no one falls behind no matter what happens. Whilst we might be perfect, and downright rude to outsiders presenting themselves onto what is ours, when we come to one another you will struggle to find a more loyal group of cats. However, this loyalty binds us to the traditions of the past, and at the worst of times can blind us from the struggles of the future.
CopseClan makes its home on the banks of a meandering river, its borders tapering up into the surrounding hills which spread north though rarely crossing the river save for the odd occasion. Dotted across the bank and in the open spaces are small woodlands and moors, as well as the Copse from which the clan takes its name. Our predominant sources of prey come in the form of fish, toads and frogs found in the long grass and reeds of the rivers, as well as the hares and rabbits on the moors. Mammals and birds can be found in the small patches of woodland, but don't feed as many cats. Apple Orchards. Bordering the foothills to the east is a small orchard of apple trees, providing hunting grounds for those willing to climb into the trees in search of the squirrels and variety of wild birds inhabiting the branches, as well as the ground dwelling creatures. Blackberry Thickets. An expansive thicket found east of the Drowning Reeds, it is known for its population of blackberries from which the foliage gains its name. The branches are thick and the foliage even more so, providing an interesting place to practice hunting. Broken Bridge. Whilst its name might not instil too much confidence, this point of crossing the river is safe enough for the sure footed. It is a bridge from one bank to the other, but due to its ancient nature parts of it are broken and unsteady under foot, but if you are careful enough it doesn't pose too much of a danger. Drowning Reeds. An especially thick and tangled area of reeds found within the territory, so thick at first glance it appears to provide a path, but it is named for a reason. For it soon gives way, and the reeds are so thick it has been known to strangle a struggling cat, and drown them in the river. Endless Tunnels. Deep within the hills to the north of our home one can find a seemingly endless set of tunnels and caverns running through the hills and where it ends no one is sure as all who have tried have been lost. Similarly to the MoonCave, its walls are etched with the clawmarks of those who came before us. Hidden Marsh. Deceptive and dangerous in nature, from afar the land here looks quite safe but up close the truth could not be more different. Its footing is unstable and gives way to deep waters, threatening to kill any cat with the misfortune of misstepping. Honey Copse. The area from which the clan gains its name, it is a large woodland found on the moor just before the land turns to hilly terrain. It is named for the bee hives which inhabit its trees, providing honey for the cats brave enough to collect it. Lilypad Brook. A branch of the Winding River marked predominantly by the lilypads which inhabit its waters, providing a place to go in hunt of frogs as well as a place to find water when away from camp. Its waters are slow running, meaning swimming here is relatively safe. Lone Oak Peak. The tallest point of our territory is the northern border of our territory, the peak of the local hills at the top of which is a single oak tree, hence the name of this landmark. MoonCave. Found within the roots of the Lone Oak, one can find the MoonCave otherwise known as our source of connection with StarClan. It is an ancient place with countless claw marks torn through its walls, and when one falls asleep in its confines, they awake among the ranks of starclan. Stepping Stones. One of the two main points of crossing the River we live beside other than attempting to swim its dangerous waters. It is a set of large stone pillars buried into the water, the tops of which peak through the surface of the water, providing a way to step across the river. Sunbathing Shore. A beautiful patch of shore beside the winding river which provides a level piece of land away from the shelter of trees or reeds which makes it a prime spot for sunbathing, additionally helpful due to its close proximity to camp. Twin Sycamores. A meadow towards the mouth of the river, it is marked by the two sycamore trees marking either side of the small area, nearly identical in nature which is where the place gains its name. It is an ideal place to practice battle moves due to the thick foliage and safety this place provides. Winding River. Simply the colloquial term for the river we live beside, it is named for the bizarre nature in which it seems to wind left and right as it runs its course. Its mouth is set within the territory beside the Twin Sycamores, but where it ends none are sure. Whispering Stones. Mysterious pretty much defines this area, as even the most stone hearted cat may be cast with fear when stepping onto this land, it is our border to the west. Inhabited by a variety of rocks, when the wind hits through this area, the stones seem to sing.
If one heads north from the Winding River in the direction of the hills inhabiting this side of our territory, one will come across a cove within the hills. Providing a safe and sheltered camp for our cats, and deceptive as to what the place actually is. Leader's Den. Making their home within a cave of the camp walls itself, it is centred in regards to camp, and the first thing most cats tend to see when entering camp due to where one's eyeline falls. Above it is a rocky outcropping, providing a place for the leader to hold meetings when necessary. Medicine Cat Den. Set to the left hand side of the camp, where the camp wall grows especially steep the den is made from a pair of large boulders propped against the steep cliffside, providing a sheltered area between the rock walls and the hill, its entrance is covered with ivy and moss for the sake of protection from the elements. Warriors Den. Cats serving our clan as hunters and fighters spend their down time within a massive den found central to the camp itself, in the form of an especially deep fox earth within the floor of camp itself, providing a safe and hidden den for the warriors. Apprentice's Den. Young cats training to become warriors for the clan make their home within a hollowed tree stump found to the right side of camp, entered through the side, its ceiling remains in tact providing a safe and sheltered den for our warriors to be. Nursery. Our youngest members and their mothers can be found in the most hidden den in camp, provided their own corner of camp the den is spacious and warm. Made similarly to the leader's den, but instead a cat made cave within the wall of the clan camp. Elder's Den. Our eldest members can be found spending their final days within a hollow tree trunk den, cushioned with ludicrous amounts of moss to provide the retired members of our clan a comfortable and warm den. Entered through the hollow of the trees dead branches, it is deceptively comfy.

No one knows just who to trust. Leader... Loststar. One could describe this young leader, as an especially unusual cat. A mixture of independence yet strict loyalty which makes it hard for one to consider her a friend, yet coupled with the fact she would throw herself in the way of danger for any cat who holds her loyalty. Though you might not know this rather mysterious cat especially well, only a small circle of cats truly do, if you are one of hers Loststar will do everything in her power to keep you safe. Strikingly beautiful, she might have been the centre of unwanted attention had it not been for her difficult personality and the walls that make it difficult to get close to her, plus her position of leader doesn't make her the most approachable cat at times. She is cloaked in a pelt of midnight black, deviating only when one turns to her gaze which is a piercing shade of beautiful amber. Even as a young cat, Loststar could be described as unpredictable at best and a danger to herself at worst, a heroic nature that urges her to do what she can for others. At heart she is a good cat, and an incredibly loyal one but this one day could lead to her downfall due to this strict loyalty to those under her rule. Few would have true problems with this cat as leader, as she has so far proven herself a reasonably good one gifted with a charming tongue and a good heart, however, there is one discrepency which results in a divide in those in her ranks. Loststar has never hidden the fact she has no faith in StarClan. However, her history gives reasonable evidence as to why this might be. Born to cats of the clan, she was lost at the age of a few moons old when something broken into the nursery and stole her. No one knows what happened to her during that 6 moon period of being missing, but she was found in the depths of Hidden Marsh, alone and a changed cat from the sweet kitten she had been in her first few moons. And carrying an impossible number of scars for a cat her age. She was born Midnightkit, but had her named changed to something more fitting when she returned to her clan. Loststar refuses to speak of this experience, regardless of how those around her might pry, but most regard this as the reason for her protective nature. The need to ensure none are lost under her watch ever again. Starlit

Stagleap. Muscled and built with the athletic but small mould common to his clan, this older tom might have been considered as rather handsome had it not been for the number of scars he has accumulated from the moons of battle and service he has provided his clan with. Though his body has begun to ache prematurely, he continues to have the kind spirit and confident nature which make this tom notable, most would regard nothing of being capable of wiping the smile from this tom's scarred muzzle. And he is especially talented when it comes to mentoring the young and sharing stories with kits and apprentices. However, his body is beginning to fail him, though he refuses to admit as much never wanting to burden the clan he loves so much, only those close to him can truly see how much pain he goes through in the day to day. Marked with an especially thick coat of fur, perfect for surviving the cold winds and bitter frosts his home is so used to, it is coloured with an especially dark brown shade. Growing paler towards his muzzle as a show of his age, and his paws turn to black with stripes tracing his ribs along his sides, and the backs of his ears, banding his tail and across his underbelly duplicate this colour. His eyes are an especially pale greyish blue colour, his eyesight beginning to fade with age but his spirit is never likely to follow it. Starlit

And as the darkness takes its grip.
A shadow has always had its grip over CopseClan territory, and for the longest time only Loststar and a select handful of others had ever had witness of this darkness, and those who have have refused for the longest time to speak of it. But what is known that whatever the terrors the night held, it forced the faith from Loststar and returned her to us as a broken cat comparatively to what she has once been. But still she refuses to speak of it, continuing to lead her Clan in spite of her lack of belief in the stars. But as cats begin to go missing, and history seems to be repeating itself. Some call it murder, others are less sure of its true meaning but know for certain that the clues all seem to point to one cat. She who stands at our head as our leader. Calls for Loststar to be exiled, even killed, but there is one problem, Loststar is pregnant. Still rumours spread throughout the clan until it seems inevitable that the clan will crumble beneath this civil war. No one knows where to turn nor what path is best to follow. During all of this, even the stars in our skies seem to have one dark. Until the breaking point snaps the clan in half, and a battle breaks out who's ending few might have guessed. The dark side won, and Loststar is driven from the clan. Believed drowned when the Broken Bridge collapses beneath her. And the shadows have what they wanted all along. CopseClan is there's. But how much longer it will survive, no one is sure.

Scarpaw is a 6 moon old she-cat who has a scar over her left eye, as well as a scar from her right shoulder down her back. She has thick black fur, with white tufts of fur at the tips of her ears and her paws are a firey ginger color. Scarpaw is a rather small she-cat, though she is young, she remains to be one of the smallest in the clan besides the kits. However, she often puffs her fur out to make herself look much larger, though it can often look silly and more like she's just a ball of fur. Scarpaw has forest green eyes, that sometimes look blue in certain lighting. Scarpaw's personality is as firey as her paws. She is feisty, often trying to make up for her small size, but more than that she doesn't much like getting close with cats. She loves learning and has tried to go off on patrol and hunts since she was a very small kit, often trying to sneak out to explore. She is incredibly good at sneaking, despite her long fur, and can easily blend in with the shadows due to her size and dark pelt. This always made it easier for her to sneak out of the clan base and out into the territory, which has put her in some dangerous situations. Scarpaw can try very hard to be too adult, very much admiring the older cats of the clan, and wanting to be respected by them. However, she can also still be very kit-like, and naive in some ways. Nightwisher Apprentice No bloodline She got the scar from a "fight" with fox, in which she nearly died, her mother did die protecting her, and her father was very badly injured. After her mother had officially lost her life, her father disowned her for being the reason that her mother died. At that point, her father demanded her name was changed from Firekit to Scarkit so she would always bare the shame of killing her mother. Let the Chaos Begin Snowsky is a young male warrior with gray-white fur, much like the clouds during a snowstorm. He has deep blue eyes, which are ever watching and gentle. Snowsky has few scars, due to his lack of experience as a warrior, but his lack of experience does not mean he is not skilled, though it helps he's rather large. Snowsky has a muscular build which is hidden under his midlength fur, and walks with the confidence of the much older warriors who have seen battle and lived to tell the tale. Though he radiates confidence, and charm, Snowsky is a rather humble cat and respects the older warriors greatly, always listening to the teachings that have, despite being a warrior himself. He understands that the title means little if you don't use it to continue learning to become as strong as you can possibly be. However, Snowsky can be rather immature, often spending time with the apprentices, and has become good friends with Scarpaw. Though it is very clear they're nothing more than friends. Though Snowsky is a decently agile cat for his size, he often has a hard time hunting and tracking, due to the fact that he was a weak nose, and though he may be fleet footed, he is not light footed and has a hard time with stealth. Warrior Is the cousin of Stagleap Let the Chaos Begin
