Icespark and Fishfur led the group of cats back towards camp, Icespark easily setting a decent pace for everyone, if not slowing them down. Both were worried about the future of Falconclan.
Pebblepaw purred slightly at the thought of her brother before she slipped into the stores and set to sorting, and making a pile of ruined to discard. She wondered if in another life she could have been a medicine cat.
Rainpaw purred slightly. "I'll double my hunting efforts since you don't have to!" He offered, pressing against the medicine cat for a moment. "The clan needs you, Birchleaf. Safe, healthy and there to help him." The young Warrior apprentice sounded like an old elder for a moment.. Rainpaw and Pebblepaw only had each other since kits, their mother didn't make it through their kitting and they never knew their father, they doubted he was even a clan cat.

Failing to suppress a cough, Nettlesplash struggled to heave herself out of the ditch she had been washed into. Her left hindleg was throbbing with pain, making each movement harder and more painful than the first. When the water had first hit, she was out hunting with her friend, Otterheart and their apprentice, Mossypaw. The rain had been persistent throughout the past few days, but no one was expecting the river to flood so bad. Sure, they've dealt with rising waters before, but nothing compared to this.
The grass was slick from the rainfall and made Nettlesplash's struggle even harder. It took the dilute calico a bit before she was lying, panting, on the flat earth, completely worn out. She had no idea where her companions were and that worried her. However, what worried her most is that she didn't know where she was. Her surroundings were unfamiliar to her and very daunting. The young warrior didn't want to be alone. Not with a potential injury and the floodwaters still rising.
"Hello?"
A weary, small voice rang out in the clearing, the source being a sodden black-and-white she-cat. Her eyes were narrowed in pain as she limped around aimlessly, a strong fear scent rolling off of her as she called into the distance. "Is anyone around?"
Ivypaw's only answer was the silence she had been met with for the entirety of her search. Step by step the apprentice was growing discouraged, having no idea where her friends she had been with before. All she remembered was waking up, soaked with river water with the biggest migraine and her clanmates nowhere in sight.

A ginger and black tom blinked open his pale green eyes. Urgency and panic shot right through his chest as he remembered everything that had happened. What time is it? Where are my clanmates? He quickly shot up to his paws, tearing his ear from under a rock in his haste. He hissed as blood trickled down from his ear. Now that he thought about it, his nose also stung a bit and he was sure he had a few scratches under his rain-matted pelt. Mud cakes his paws and clung to his flanks and underbelly. Brackenpaw looked around his surroundings. The river was to close for comfort -he must have been washed up. Large branches and other debris stuck out of the water. He looked up at the dark sky that was just bordering on dusk and tried to find the sun or moon, but the thick leaves and branches overhead blocked his view. Without the aid of knowing where the sun or moon rises, he would be wandering relatively blind. But if he just stayed where he was, chances were no cat would find him. At that thought, fear spiked beneath his sternum and he grew anxious and antsy to get bak to camp. Suddenly, his ears went up as he thought he heard something resembling a yowl. Brackenpaw hurried forward, pausing only to carefully pick his way over the river, using the debris as his bridge. Once on the other bank, he ran in the direction the sound had come from. He then noticed a tuft of white fur caught on a bush. He padded forward and sniffed at it. It was so sodden that he couldn't be sure, but he thought the scent might be Ivypaw. He hastened forward and nearly tripped over himself as he abruptly stopped. The forest had opened up into a small clearing and on the ground in front of him were fresh paw prints. The tom hurried back into a brisk pace, following the trail. The clearing was lost again into the forest. "Ivypaw?" He called into the forest anxiously.

The apprentice had stopped abruptly after only a few paces, suddenly daunted by the towering trees around her. She gazed around with a frightened expression on her face; everything surrounding was unfamiliar to the young she-cat. Ivypaw wasn't sure if she wanted to travel deeper into unknown territory. Getting lost in the woods with the sun going down was probably not a wise decision.
The feline's sodden, bi-colored fur spiked at the sudden sound of movement behind her. Ivypaw whirled around, green eyes bulging with panic as she searched for the noise's source. Was something already hunting her down?
Pure relief flooded over the apprentice as she recognized the multi-colored fur of her clanmate, Brackenpaw, through the trees. Ivypaw immediately broke into a run, sprinting towards him despite the pain searing her being. She nearly collided with the tom as she skidded to a halt, the ground slick beneath her paws. Green eyes brimming with happiness, Ivypaw breathed, "Am I glad to see you!" She sent a prayer up to StarClan, thanking them for allowing her to find a familiar cat. Then she remembered with a pang - her mentor, Otterheart, and her friend, Nettlesplash, were still missing. Her joyous expression faltered a little bit.

Swanpaw twitched her long whiskers and basked in the sun of falconclan camp. Her blindness didn’t bother her and she appreciated the darkness and enjoyed her life now in Falconclan. She wondered who was going to be her mentor.

Tinykit listened. "Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before the apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices can't until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating, too." He looked at Littleflower with his amber eyes. "Did I get it right?"

( swantide a 5 moon old cat is a kit, so Swankit shouldn't be Swanpaw. You can join Tinykit, Littleflower, and Pebblepaw. This is a jump in, so of course you can join! You don't really have to ask.)

"Hi, Swankit," He responded. "I can't play. I'm really sick, but We can talk." He rolled over to face her and winced as a sharp pang went through his skull, and it felt like sharp claws were grasping his ribs. "I'm trying to get better soon, so we can play."

“Sure!” She purred, her Blind soft eyes flashed sympathy but she flicked her tail and continued “have you ever seen the forest? Why does it look like.” She wanted to know what was beyond the darkness she could see.

((Sorry for the late reply ^^" I'm not very well, so I might be a bit slow for a few days.))
Birchleaf smiled sadly, touching her tail to the apprentice in thanks. "You're a credit to Falconclan, Rainpaw," She murmured lowly, looking forward to their clanmates. The future of her clan looked bleak, though she tried hard not to show her worry. A lot of her clanmate's survival would depend on her now. This sort of situation could be rife with illnesses. Wounds would easily get infected, there would be a shortage of herbs and prey, many of her beloved clan were likely already dead. It broke her heart.
Shaking out her fur, grimacing as she felt the clumps of mud and the heaviness of water clogging it, Birchleaf pushed the thoughts firmly from her head and focused on the scent of her clan. Though muddied and weak, it was getting stronger by the minute as they neared camp. She both wanted to be home and dreaded the thought of the camp that awaited her.
~~~~
Maplerose shook out her fur, before sticking her head into the Elder's den to check on Foxpounce. His chest rose steadily in sleep, his breath hitching only slightly. Nodding firmly to herself, she left and wandered slowly over to the Medicine Cat's den, trying to avoid aggravating her bruised and aching body. She stuck her head in, smiling gently at the congregation of cats gathered there. "Hello there," She mewed, moving inside, "It's good to see you all. I'm just here to check on the nests."
Brackenpaw was glad to see Ivypaw as she almost barreled into him. "Ivypaw," he breathed in relief. "I'm so glad to find another cat. We need to get back to camp -wherever that is." He then noticed her look and struggled to think of something that might reassure her. "We should focus on finding camp. We're no good to our clanmates if we get lost. Be-besides, they'll surely know where to go.We might even bump into some cat on the way," he attempted.
Littlwflower nodded, "All correct," she told Tinykit. She was going to continue when Swankit padded into the den and the two little cats started talking. While they did so, the she-cat returned to grooming Tinykit so he could be rid of that icky mud.
Willowshade saw the camp come into sight. She was ready to just settle down now and find out what was wrong with her kit. I hope Emberblaze is here. -Though, he's probably still out with Arrowstar and Graywhisker on a search party.
(Reposting this next bit with Emberblaze) Emberblaze sighed, "Yeah. After all this, we might just have to teach our apprentices the basic essential herbs incase something like this ever happened again," he agreed. It took a moment for the russet tom to realize what Arrowstar was asking him and he nearly stumbled when it clicked. Emberblaze dipped his head respectfully to Arrowstar before straightening up again. "I'd be honored, Arrowstar. Let's just hope it doesn't come to that. I can barely stomach the idea of how many of our clanmates we may have lost to this flood."
Tinykit looked thoughtful. "Hmm, I think it's going to be beautiful, with leaf dapples on the ground! Yummy birds will sing and mice will scurry around." He replied to Swankit. He sighed almost wistfully. He then looked at the sky. "So cloudy and dark. Hmm... I wonder if my father is watching me now. What about your parents, where are they now, Swankit?"
The she-cat had wandered quite far from her backyard recently, her twolegs gone. Without the moist food they fed her, she was thin and frail. Now, Charlie had to catch her own food..it was hard, though. She didn't want to come across any of those vicious clancats, and especially didn't want to think of what would be done to her. Frowning at her stomach as it rumbled, the kittypet got into a hunting crouch and stalked a mouse. (This looks fun!)
(No, this is a jump in, no form necessary!
Echoblaze padded alongside his leader in the direction of the twoleg place. They had been padding a while and he stopped as he heard pawsteps and scented the air. The scent of mud and water made it hard to distinguish if this cat was part of their clan, a rogue, or a kittypet. "It's Echoblaze and Arrowstar. Is anycat there?" He called into the patch of weathered forest to the unknown cat.
(I just realized I've accidentally been calling Echoblaze Emberblaze because of his pelt color. Oops
Owlstrike sat along her clanmates, her eyes gazing over them. She hoped everyone was alright. She scraped her claws against the damp grass, anxious to get back into a routine, or aid someone in some way. Her eyes looked for someone to go talk to. She had thankfully made it back to camp after getting a bit swept away. She began to groom herself, licking her wet fur dry.
Buck froze as he saw two cats patrolling near the twoleg houses. He hestiantly thought about going over to greet them before he saw the other she-cat attempting in a hunting crunch. He sniffed the air, tasting mouse, and his tail twitched. He considered catching the mouse for the frail she cat, who looked like she couldn't catch a things. He shook his head and thought that it was better she learned for herself. Far away enough from the two to not be seen, he hid behind a bush, rattling it as he was scraped by thorns.
Ivypaw nodded reluctantly at Brackenpaw's words, trying to act more optimistic, like him. Though she hadn't scented anything familiar from her two friends ever since she had woken up and assumed they had been washed away somewhere else. And when the bi-colored she-cat tried to think of where she last started, she couldn't even remember. The feline prayed her friend was right and they would find someone as they traveled home, wherever that was. Hopefully StarClan would guide their paws as they tried to find any sign of their beloved Clan. "We should probably head off, then," said Ivypaw softly, eyes solemn as she regained her composure. "I don't want to be out here in the dark."
Nettlesplash hadn't made much progress searching for her clanmates. Her injured leg was preventing the pale she-cat from moving too much; it was making her sick with pain. She prayed and hoped it wasn't broken or infected. The sun was lowering by the minute and Nettlesplash was afraid of whatever might be out in this strange part of the forest. The only recognizable thing was a forest a little ways off. The warrior wondered if anyone she knew was there, also injured and trying to go home. A stab of overwhelming sorrow hit her at the thought of being missing forever.
(I'm so sorry! My birthday is the 11th, it's been a huge mess getting things planned, and the house cleaned, and my job, I'm a librarian, is doing an event on the 28th and I've been wrapping books and such.)
As the camp came into sight Rainpaw took off running, small legs carrying him towards the apprentice's den, well, what was left of the bush as he looked for his sister, Pebblepaw. He backed away, looking around camp before moving towards the medicine cat den. He looked at the kits and Littleflower. "L-Littleflower?" He stuttered. "Have you seen Pebblepaw?"
Pebblepaw thought she heard a voice but was so focused on sorting she wasn't paying attention. The herb stores looked very low, but as soon as Birchleaf returned, she knew the medicine cat just had to, she would help gather more if needed.
Arrowstar nodded. "I hope it doesn't come to that as well," he responded. "But, if it does. I know you'd make a great deputy." He commented, he stopped for a moment, focusing on the scent. He flicked his tail, he padded slowly towards the scent, wondering if the cat, if not part of the clan, would want to come to Falconclan.. It would be difficult to feed another cat, but there was strength in numbers. As he heard a bush rattle, his ears flicked towards the sound as well before he glanced over at Echoblaze.
He thought he caught a hint of the scent of a clancat before it faded into the scent of water and mud. He gave up, his large gray tail lashing angrily as he took a few steps forward before he called out. "Is there anyone out there? It's Graywhisker of Falconclan!"
A sudden yowl startled Nettlesplash out of her depressive thoughts and her wet fur bristled. She tried to recognize the voice, but it could've belonged to anybody. Although, it did sound masculine. Gasping with effort, the she-cat limped awkwardly towards the direction of the call, trying to work up her speed into a run but her leg was making it very difficult. Tears of pain welled in her yellow eyes and she forced herself to half-sprint, half-limp her way towards the voice. A scent, muddled with floodwater and mud, hit her nose and hope lit Nettlesplash's gaze. Though she still could not recognize it through a haze of pain. The forest was growing nearer, the smell of cat stronger. Soon, the dilute tortoiseshell caught sight of a grey pelt among the trees. The scent became familiar.
"Graywhisker, is that you?" Relief spread through Nettlesplash, combating with the searing pain in her leg. "Oh, thank StarClan." The she-cat's voice sounded strained and full of emotion.
Brackenpaw flicked his right ear, consciously making sure he didn't move the injured one. "Me neither. I couldn't see the sun -or moon for that matter- last time I checked and these trees are a little high to climb." He frowned. "But if we go back to the river and see which way it's flowing, we may be able to determine what direction we should head it and just follow the river so we don't get to lost," the tom decided.
Littleflower looked up from grooming Tinykit and her gaze went over to Rainpaw. "She's in the back with the herb store pretending to be a medicine cat. I think she'll be relieved to see you," she responded, flicking her tail in the direction of the back of the den with a small dip of her head.
Echoblaze heard the bush rattle as well. He met Arrowstar's gaze and took a pawstep toward the sound. "We won't hurt you. We're Falconclan," he called into the brush. However, the warrior didn't proceed and let Arrowstar decide what action they should take now.
Graywhisker shook out his pelt, making the muscular gray tom look larger, just in case if it wasn't one of the clan. As the tortoiseshell appeared, he bounded towards her. He took a place at her side, supporting the she-cat carefully as he noticed she was injured. He let his tongue lick over her shoulder, a silent sign of he was happy to see her. "Are you hurt anywhere else?" The tom asked, bracing himself to keep her upright. "Do you need to rest or should we head towards camp?"
Rainpaw nodded to Littleflower and pushed into the herb store to greet his sister. There was a happy yowl and a thud as Pebblepaw tackled her brother.
Arrowstar looked at Echoblaze, nodding slightly to the tom cat. "Most cats that are out in this aren't going to be able to fight much." He murmured to the other tom. "They might need Falconclan's help."
((By the way, I rolled a die and Foxpounce is going to survive his injuries ^^ I wasn't sure, so I left it to chance. He's going to be badly scarred and lose the hearing in his right ear, but he's going to be able to continue as a warrior.))
Birchleaf sighed in relief as she finally padded into camp. Exhausted, muddy and damp, she wanted nothing more than to sleep, but there was work to be done. Chuckling as she heard Pebblepaw's yowl from in front of her, she motioned for both Icespark and Willowshade to follow her and headed finally to her den. She huffed, shocked as she saw how many cats had settled down in the usually near-empty space. "What's all this fuss about then," She purred, padding inside. Her eyes scanned the space. Littleflower, Maplerose, Tinykit, Swankit, Pebblepaw and now Rainpaw occupied the space. She needed to impose some order. "Alright," She said, straightening up and turning a stern eye to her den, "Everyone who's hurt or sick, speak up. Someone tell me what's been done so far. And who has been doing it." She eyed the traces of green in front of Tinykit.
Maplerose lifted her head to nod at the Medicine Cat from where she was fussing with the nests. She'd ask Birchleaf to look at Foxpounce after the kit was taken care of. For now, she started dragging the nests outside to where she had stashed the others, letting the weak sunlight start to dry them out a bit.
Littleflower looked up in pure relief as Birchleaf's scent and form rolled into the den. "Pebblepaw's pad is hurt. Tinykit's sick, maybe a fever? And he's been struggling to stay awake. I've been cleaning the mud from his pelt incase it was caused by something the mud was covering. I-I don't know who else is hurt. I'm just a little shaken, but otherwise fine." She glanced over at Maplerose, "Oh, I think Echoblaze came through here earlier about Foxpounce and Maplerose," she added. Littleflower noticed Icespark and Willowshade were behind the medicine cat and hastily mewed, "I can leave so it won't be so cramped."
Echoblaze nodded, "I don't think anycat can fight much after what happened," he agreed in a hushed meow.
Charlie stalked forward a few more steps, her tail flicking. She had never really learned to hunt, especially since she was an abandoned kittypet and used to be fed twice a day by her house folk. Catch it. she thought as her stomach pained with hunger. The she-cat pounced onto the mouse, in an attempt to catch it. Strangely, she didn't even bother using her paws. Instead trying to catch the mouse with her mouth, she ultimately failed as she landed on the forest floor. The little thing skittered away quickly in fright.
