This was written for a Discord roleplay I'm in, to give my cat, Mintstar, a little more backstory. I think she might have the most backstory at this point. lol
I love my bab so much.
This contains two OCs: Mintleaf/star (mine) and Shatteredstar (Npc)
---
Mintstar was asleep, cold, and inkowing of what was happening around her, or in the case at that moment, above her. The ice wouldn't get her, but the cold could.
Her memories began to resurface, her times in her clan were back.
---
Mintstar was in the Riverclan camp, with her clan. It was late newleaf, the sun rays shining down. But it didn't feel right. Her fur blew in the small breeze, a newleaf drizzle beginning above her. She sat at the base of the wet rock, chatting with a few other cats.
Then there was a yowl.
"Shatteredstar is hurt!"
Shatteredstar? But he's-
It was then that Mintstar noticed when she was. She was Mintleaf. The deputy of Riverclan. Her head swiveled to look at her leader, her green eyes icy. She dashed over. "What happened?"
"Rouge attack!" The cat meowed hastily. "We were jumped, and he attacked them. They ran off, but his wounds are terrible! He's losing a lot of blood- he might lose a life!"
Mintleaf pressed her muzzle against the leader's pelt "Please be okay..." She murmured, swiftly standing up. "Bring him in fron of the wet rock, I'll be right back." She dashed to the medicine den, grabbing some cobwebs. It was the half-moon. The medicine cats were out.
When she returned to her leader's side, she pressed them to Shatteredstar's flank. "Don't die, don't die, don't die."
The leader coughed, lifting his head toward the she-cat. "It's no use. Mintleaf, you know I'm on my last life. It might just be time for me to go."
"Shatteredstar! You can't say that! Riverclan needs you!" The deputy was trying her best to help him, her eyes beginning to mist over. "I need you! I'm not ready to be a leader!"
"Yes," He mewed, "Yes, you are. You will make a fine leader. Better than me, and that's the truth. I haven't been the best." He looked over to Mintleaf, who had stopped and was looking him dead in the eyes.
"No!" She protested, "You've been a great leader, you let me into the clan, you helped me so much-" He cut her off.
"Mintleaf. It's my time. I must now join my mate, Rainwhisper, and Hollowsong, a great deputy, in Starclan. You will now be leader. You have been a great cat, even with your loner origins. I can see why letting Oaktail leave you here was a good idea. I can see why Hollowsong was so proud of you. I'm proud of you. Good luck, MIntstar." And with that, he took his last breath, his flank slowly becoming still.
"No!" Mintleaf yowled, attempting to press down on his flank once more, hoping maybe she could stop the blood flow. It was too late. She retreated, turning to the cats who had gathered. "Shatteredstar has lost his last life. He resides with Starclan now. I am your leader."
"I will make my way to the moonstone tonight. I expect to run into the medicine cats on the way." Mintleaf turned and walked out into the territory, making her straight to Highstones, Mothermouth, and the Moonstone.
I'm not ready, I'm not ready.
---
The ice was getting in, the cold was getting through her flank.
She would probably lose a life here, in the cold, away from her clan. The worst possible time.
The calico she-cat shivered, another memory resurfacing.
---
Mintleaf- no, Mintstar- had awoken from her ceremony at the moonstone. She was leader now. There was nothing she could really do about that. The medicine cat had met her halfway there, back on Riverclan territory, thankfully away from the other medicne cats.
As she exited Mothermouth, with the medicine cat behind her, she comtemplated how this would work out for her. She was now the leader of Riverclan. She wasn't a just a warrior, or the deputy. She was leader now. They made theri way back to camp, where her clan would be.
Her clan.
The cats had gathered, and she had jumped to the highrock. She chose Snowtail as her deputy, and that had been that. She still had that nagging feeling. But she was proud.
I am ready.

I love writing for my girl, and this made it's way into the rp. I decided to post it here.
