Sounds great!))
Not long after Maskedpaw was leaving the apprentice's den, Applepaw decided she was awake and wanted to come out as well. An excited mew left the den as the ginger apprentice tried to come rushing out, and instead smashed right into the other cat. Both went tumbling, with Applepaw landing a short distance from Maskedpaw, and immediately scrambling up. "Oh! I'm so sorry, Maskedpaw! Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"

Sorrelpatch waved her tail in greeting to Shorttail. "Hey there! Here for some prey?" She meowed cheerfully, crouching down by her own water vole.

Maskedpaw makes a quick scramble to stand again on her paws. "No, I'm fine." she responds with a tranquil tone. The black and ginger tabby shifted on her paws for a moment "Are you okay? You really shouldn't come out so fast." she comments, giving the other apprentice somewhat of a hard time for being so excited. If Maskedpaw was honest, she'd never seen a cat quite so ecstatic about waking up.
Shorttail nods "Yeah. I hadn't noticed til now but I forgot to eat earlier!" She gives a short laugh and picks up a small mouse and taking a few small bites.

Sorrelpatch laughed and tilted her head. "I can't imagine forgetting to eat!" She meowed good-humoredly. She worked on eating her water vole for a moment before looking up. "I was going to look for prey at the Duck Pond. You interested in coming?" She asked.

With a sheepish mew, Applepaw lowered her ears a bit, though she didn't seem anything other than her normal bright self and her eyes shone still. "Yea, I'm okay. Cherrysky usually says the same thing. She's glad I'm not excited about everything but..." She shrugged a bit, straightening herself a bit before springing to her paws. "But how could I not be excited? Training to be a warrior is great!"

Maskedpaw backs up a few steps, seemingly getting a bit smaller but composing herself again afterward. Her timid nature wasn't well suited for how excited Applepaw could be. "It is great and all but what about the chores? Do you find those exciting too?" she was honestly kind of curious. What apprentice finds a chore fun?
Shorttail thinks for a moment, finishing off another bite of the mouse. "Sure! Sounds fun. Plus it'll be nice to stretch my paws and get out of the camp for a bit." she she-cat replies. She hadn't been out of camp since she'd woken up so she was glad that someone offered to go hunting. She hated going by herself.

Nodding enthusiastically, Applepaw couldn't keep herself from giving a little wiggle, as if all the energy within her couldn't be contained. "I don't mind those. I think my mentor thinks it'll keep my energy down but I can't help it! She also says I'm loud enough to scared all the prey away wherever I go, but I don't know about that. What do you think?" Every word seemed hurried, tumbling rapidly out of her mouth as the ginger apprentice shuffled and shifted, always moving, her tail wagging back and forth through the air like a dog's would.

Maskedpaw struggled between being brutally honest or being just purely positive. she went for some of both. "I think you could be quieter. It's very intimidating, and could possibly scare off prey. But I think its also good that you keep a positive outlook on things. It probably helps in training too! Energy is always good to have for battle." Maskedpaw isn't quite sure of that but hey, if need be Applepaw could probably just intimidate an enemy to death. Is that mean? Maskedpaw silently apologizes.

My woman ( Moonsong) drew some lovely art of Applepaw, doing what she does best.)) Slowly, Applepaw blinked, giving Maskedpaw a slightly confused look. "Am I intimidating?" she asked, slowing down a little. The she-cat sat down, seeming to be serious for a moment as she frowned, blinking again and still seeming confused. Then she perked up a bit at the compliment, or what she assumed was one, tail wagging over the ground this time. "Someone's gotta do it! And if my clanmates can't manage to be positive constantly, then by Starclan I'll do it! And sometimes, it's nice to make other's happy. I like making others happy."

"Oh no I mean, I don't think you intimidate everyone.." she trails off for a moment. thinking of how best to word what she meant to say "Just I'm a little less enthusiastic so the constant energy is very surprising and a little intimidating. But not in a bad way!" Yikes. Maskedpaw just shouldn't talk. She's pretty awful at speaking.
((Applepaw and Maskedpaws are kind of opposites and its great))

Applepaw is probably eventually going to insist they be friends. And Maskedpaw got stuck with Warblerwing as a mentor, who is arrogant and full of himself. That should be interesting.))
Seeming to understand, at least a bit, Applepaw nodded her head. The words didn't seem to put a dent in her happy attitude, and she slowly seemed to be returning to the normally excited state she was almost always in. "Oh! Well, I'll have to try to keep that in mind. I know you're pretty quiet all the time, but I like that! Sometimes I wish I was like that, but I also like talking a lot. Maybe we should hang out more together, we could rub off on each other, you know? I wonder if our mentors would let us train together some, that would be nice, cause you seem cool and I like talking to you."

((indeed!))
"Oh sure, I'm sure that'd be fun. You're pretty cool too." Applepaw was very excited and just so outgoing. Sometimes Maskedpaw wished she could be that way, however shes comfortable with being quiet. But who knows, maybe Applepaw is right. They could perhaps balance each other out over time.

"Great!" Sorrelpatch mewed, and she quickly finished up her meal, practically vibrating with enthusiasm. Despite her own small size, she hoped they could catch a duck if any were nesting there still from the past Newleaf. Her ambitions were high for the hunting trip. She waited for Shorttail, a purr of excitement rumbling in her throat.

Shorttail quickly finished her mouse and stood. she stretched and looked toward the other warrior, waiting for her to lead the way out of camp and toward the duck pond. Shorttail thought it'd be appropriate to let the cat who had offered the idea of a hunt lead. Though she did have a question "Do you want to bring anyone else along?" she asked.

Scooting up closer to the other apprentice, Applepaw gave her a gentle nudge with her shoulder, eyes sparkling. "Great! We could be friends even! I'd like that, I love having friends." Her voice was light and the tone good-natured, as she was being her normal honest self. Applepaw was always like this, though, and she genuinely did enjoy making friends with her clanmates, even if they thought she was a bit loud sometimes.

(Welp, might as well jump in!)
Snakepaw groaned as the light filtering into the apprentice's den practically blinded him as soon as he opened his eyes. The light wasn't really too bright, but since his eyes hadn't adjusted yet it felt like someone had blasted a giant beam of light in his face. He layed there, eyes squinted, for a good twenty seconds, before he finally adjusted and could open his eyes fully.
However, he squinted again as soon as he heard the noise outside. He flattened his ears, and grumbled to himself. "Ugh. Looks like I'm still here with the same loud, annoying cats." He sighed. "And it also looks like I have no choice but to see them again." After a deep inhale of getting over the fact he wasn't dead yet, he dragged himself outside, which took him another twenty seconds to get adjusted to, since it was even brighter out here.
He didn't say anything, just rubbed his eyes and stared tiredly at the other apprentices, a slight glint of annoyance in his eyes.

She replies silently, giving Applepaw an honest and genuine smile. She hears someone else emerge from the Apprentice den behind her. Maskedpaw turns to receive an unwelcoming look from Snakepaw. "Oh. Good morning Snakepaw." She greets, her tone just as soft and quiet as ever. Her tail swishes along the floor a few times before settling around her as she sits. If Maskedpaw was honest, she didn't have much of an opinion on Snakepaw.

Sorrelpatch paused thoughtfully, considering who else she might want to bring. If they were going to try to catch such large prey, the more cats they had, the better. She nodded. "That's a good idea! Anyone who wants to come, can..." She meowed, looking around for more cats to invite. There was that group of apprentices, but she didn't want to answer to their mentors after taking them out without asking.

She too looks around for anyone who may want to join. "I suppose it's just us then?" she asks, still looking but eventually giving up. She was fine with just her and Sorrelpatch, but another cat or two may help them catch more prey.

Sorrelpatch shrugged, her ears flicking as though to brush it off. "That's fine! We'll just surprise them all with the prey we haul back." She mewed, her eyes gleaming as she just pictured it. "Come on!" She meowed, flicking her tail before charging out of the bramble bush entrance from camp, breezing by the thorns with experience at avoiding getting her fur snagged.

Shorttail perks up and follows along behind and then next too Sorrelpatch as she catches up. Her eyes take in the surrounding scenery as the two walk along, making their way to the Duck Pond. She'd narrowly avoided her fur being snagged on the camp's exit as they left.

Sorrelpatch trotted through the wooded part of the territory, going through the overgrowth confidently before sliding down the clay-covered hill at the end of the wooded area, and her paws submerged into the muddy ground of the marshy land they knew from kithood. "Whew! It's been hot today, so the mud is actually kinda nice on my paws." She mewed, appreciating to cool wetness of the ground.

Shorttail followed after her through the overgrowth and down the hill. "The muds okay, though it's a bit slowing." she replies. Shorttail liked the coolness on her but she was truthful about the slowness of her movement as the trudged onward through the marsh.

Hearing the approach of another cat, Applepaw glanced around Maskedpaw to look at the more grumpy apprentice. Still, she was excited to see someone regardless, and gave just as cheerful a greeting to Snakepaw as she would any other cat. "Hello, Snakepaw! Did you sleep well? We just got up, too, but I ran into Maskedpaw on the way out, so maybe not the best start to a day. I can't wait for my mentor to take me out training. Maybe we'll all go together! That would be great!" The ginger she-cat seemed to just lose herself in the ramblings she uttered, loud and peppy even though she had a sneaking suspicion that the dark furred tom wasn't the happiest to see her when she was talking.

Snakepaw flattened his ears in response to how loud Applepaw was being. However, he decided to respond to her anyways, since she would only keep talking if he didn't. "I slept fine, thanks," he responded. His tone sounded rather rude, and it sort of sounded like he was quietly growling in the back of throat. "And maybe we will. Wouldn't count on it though."

Sorrelpatch laughed, nodding in agreement as they sloshed through the mud together. "That's true! But it helps you use more of your muscles to travel." She meowed, trying to charge through the mud with rippling muscles, but she went incredibly slow for all the effort she was putting in.
Boarfang strutted up to the group of apprentices. "Well, if it's up to me, I'd like to see how all you apprentices are shaping up with your hunting skills." He meowed, his voice deep and loud. "So I wouldn't count that possibility out." He added, giving Snakepaw a hard shove with a large paw.

"I suppose so." Shorttail replies. The she-cat giving plenty effort as well, trying to make it through the marsh just a bit faster. She succeeds for a short moment but eventually tires out and goes back to her slower pace. A part of Shorttail wishes there was another way besides the marsh but as far as she knows there isn't one.
---
"I'm sure my mentor would let us train together!" Maskedpaw says, turning to the other she-cat. Her voice slightly raising above its usual volume. She didn't want Snakepaw to cause a crash and burn of Applepaw's good mood. The apprentice was really starting to form a negative opinion on Snakepaw and she hadn't even really interacted with him at all.
