[ yes, I'll have to be quite wary of that cx sorry for the short post ]
s p o t t e d w i n g c a m p Spottedwing purred in agreement and curled her tail around Dawnwatcher's in affection. "Sounds like a plan," she meowed with a cute wink. Spottedwing led the way out of camp, nodding a greeting to both Bearpelt and Nightrunner as they passed. Once they were out of camp and on the well-trodden path to the lake, she walked alongside Dawnwatcher.
"Have you thought of any names for the kits? Or are you going to just decide when you see them?" Maybe she'll name one after me. coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf stock image used for icon @velveteenwolf

Basking in the fresh air outside of the confines of camp, the queen kept a swift but carful place, picking her steps carefully due to her proneness to slipping but not wishing to go so slowly that she would annoy her friend. The swell of her stomach swinging from side to side beneath her, she seemed content enough despite how she struggled with the greatened weight. But soon she began to grow out of breath, but did her best to hide the fact from her firiend. “Are you hoping for a Spottedkit, Spottedwing?” She purred playfully as they walked side by side. Shrugging her shoulders honestly, “Ive not really thought about it,” she admitted with a sigh, the fear burned too deep into her brain she was too busy worrying about bringing her kits into the world than she was to worr about the kits themselves.

Clearpaw was startled. "Oh, well I do have have my duties to complete." He got up and stretched, and said, "I'm sorry, Bearpelt. I've been lazy these days. May we go hunting?" He stared longingly to the camp entrance. He hadn't been hunting for a while, and he had been gaining weight as he lounged more and more. he had been dying for a fresh thrush that he had caught. "I need to understand that senior apprentices don't sit around." He whispered to himself as he waited for Bearpelt to answer his question. (Is this long enough? I might be able to make it longer.)

Ahh, here we go. Sorry it isn't all that great!!
Does anyone else want me to get up a starter for them? I have Firepaw, Hollyfrost and Cloudchaser c: Skyhawk »Sleeping had been a hard thing to do for the brown and white tabby warrior. With the nightmares that consumed his mind, and the sore thoughts of not being good enough, he had just managed to catch a wink of sleep at dawn, and had been sleeping since. He was rather happy he managed to, but that happiness had been taken away not long after. Skyhawk of course was not expecting the company he got by any means. He lost the air from his lungs for a moment and his blue eyes shot open to look at the black pelt that belonged to his sister.
With a soft huff, Skyhawk glared at Nightrunner, wheezing as he caught his breath. "You're such an inconsiderate kit, you mouse-brain." He mumbled and batted his paws at her for a moment before stretching his forelegs ahead of him. He relaxed under the weight of his sister before bunching up his muscles and shoving her off playfully. He purred and slowly sat up, licking his white chest fur down before letting his blue gaze shift back over to his sister.
"So, did you and Bearpelt find anything? Is the scent still there?" Skyhawk asked, turned himself to face his sister for a moment. He wasn't sure were Jaggedleap was- the other male was probably out and about some where, or hidden in the shadows of the cave they called home. He yawned once again before looking around slowly. The camp seemed to be fluttering with life. Bearpelt was yelling at his apprentice, and Hollyfrost seemed to be on the lookout for the leader or her own apprentice. With a soft snort, Skyhawk silently thanked his leader that he had no apprentice at the time. Clearing the thoughts from his head, he turned his gaze back to his sister, hoping she'd give in full detail what she had found.

n i g h t r u n n e r c a m p Nightrunner growled lightly in warning when she got back on her feet after her littermate had rudely thrown her off. She was warm from the sun outside and the cave was slightly chilly; who wouldn't take advantage of a black mass of heat laying on top of them? Huffing, Nightrunner plopped back down onto the floor of the cavern and sprawled out. "You love me and you know it.
"We found the scent pretty easily and tracked the coyotes way outside of the eastern border. It smelled like it was a pretty big pack travelling together so we wanted to make sure they didn't head back into the territory further down the border. Unfortunately, that meant going hours outside of the territory and still having to make the trek back." Nightrunner didn't seem to be a happy cat and that's because she wasn't. While she was a great tracker, she much preferred stealth missions at night and sneak attacks to following a scent for hours on end. The latter got boring quite quickly.
"Bearpelt was silent, as usual. Don't get me wrong, I love silence and keeping my thoughts to myself, but that cat is downright awkward." Most of the clan found this quite odd as Grousestar was outgoing and unafraid to speak her mind; then again, what good would a leader be if they weren't? Nightrunner couldn't help but think of Skyhawk's ambition to eventually become deputy and maybe even leader after that, if he was so lucky. She didn't think he had what it would take to be a leader - yet. Jaggedleap and her had shared many conversations about how to get Skyhawk more comfortable in his own fur and they both agreed that the solution was an apprentice. coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf stock image used for icon -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊

s p o t t e d w i n g outside of camp
Spottedwing could hear how hard Dawnwatcher was breathing and increasingly slowed their pace until it was a very slow, but enjoyable, walk. She had wondered if Dawnwatcher was exerting herself too much and obviously she was. I'll need to tell Cloudchaser about that. Blinking her eyes to clear her mind of her worries, the small she-cat purred and felt her ears grow a bit hot at the queen's question. "Maybe! But only if they're spotted, like me. It wouldn't make sense if you had a kit with a solid pelt and no spots! That'd be like naming a ginger cat 'Bluekit'."
Spottedwing had to think for a little bit before she found a way to get her friend's mind off of her imminent kitting. When she finally came up with memories that would make them both smile, she let out a low purr of fondness. "Do you remember when I was kit and you were an apprentice and I would constantly follow you around? And then one day I actually followed you out of camp! You were so annoyed with me, but look at us now." coding & icon image by officialrainleafwcf stock image used for icon @velveteenwolf

[ UnsightlyHeretic831, I really don't think that's long enough for a second post. I would be more understanding if we were further into the role-play and at a stagnant time where there wasn't much to work off of, but we're not at that point. Starters have the best opportunities to show off the full caliber of your writing and I'm not getting much from your starters right now. ]

Chuckling a little at her friend's notable change of pace, though she was thankful for having such a thoughtful cat as her best friend. She kept her pace more comfortable, twitching her whiskers in amusement. "Or a big kit Tinykit?" She offered with a grin lacing her expression, moving on at a more comfortable pace, she was soon able to catch her breath a little easier, and actually enjoy their walk through their homes. "I'm sure my kits names will be ok, at the very least I'll have [insertmurderer'snamehere] to help me, so they wont all be entirely ridiculous," she purred with a smile brightening her expression. She hoped her kits would share her mate's characteristics at least to some extent, her brain began to buzz as she tried to think of a name which would suit a kit with her mate's pelt.
Brought from her thoughts by what the warrior said next, ears twitching forward she grinned. "I'm confused by your use of the past tense," she teased playfully. Headbutting her best friend with a low laugh, "You still do annoy me most days, I could be sleeping in my nest!" But the grin lighting her expression gave truth to the fact there was no malice or true frustration to what had been said.

Ugh these honestly sucked so much, i'm sorry ;n;
Skyhawk » Skyhawk listened with interest, his ears twitching as his blue gaze shifted towards his sister. He couldn't help but let his whiskers twitch in amusement. He nudged her and sighed. Standing up, he stretched once more and flicked his tail over her nose. "I understand. Must have been a pain in the tail, spending time with such and awkward cat. I mean, I'd much rather be in silence that a chatter box like the other warriors." He mewed, shaking himself out before looking at Nightrunner. His statement was more like a playful tease than anything. "At least you figured out that they won't be back any time soon, right?" He asked.
Skyhawk's attention turned towards Hollyfrost again, watching her make her way towards the Leaders den, hoping up towards the den and stopping right before she spoke. She was too far away for the brown and white tabby to hear what she was saying. He curled his tail over his back and let his mind shift to the thought of being leader himself. His eyes glittered brightly before he looked back at Nightrunner, twitching his ears. "If you aren't tired, maybe we can go for a hunt." He stated, tail twitching.
[ ugh sorry this is so short )): ]
Hollyfrost » Hollyfrost slipped back inside of camp after a successful hunt. She dropped a few pieces of prey beside the others in the pile, before shaking her thick pelt out. Soft pants left the long haired she-cat as she sat down. She needed to catch her breath after her run back to camp in the heat. Her pelt was warm, but she was still rather cool as her pelt kept her from over heating sometimes. Her gaze shifted between the cats that chatted, noticing Bearpelt and Nightrunner had returned, and Bearpelt was already yelling at his apprentice. She sighed, shaking her head. Poor Clearpaw. At least Bearpelt isn't that bad. I'm sure we'd have a better time if we had opposite apprentices, though. Pinepaw's talk back sometimes makes me want to claw her ears off. Hollyfrost thought, her yellow eyes rolling slowly as she got up from her spot. She shook the dust out of her fur before glancing towards the area where the leader slept. Her mind was now stuck on talking to Grousestar, as she hadn't done so yet that day. With a soft purr, Hollyfrost bounded forward and began leaping her way up towards where the leader rested.
Once she made it to the edge, she paused and grazed her fluffy tail over the ground before stepping forward and looking at the ruddy brown female. Her heart skipped a beat. The leader, in the smoke torties eyes, was gorgeous and looked just as beautiful against the orange yellow stone of where she had nested. Dipping her head, she purred. "I hope I'm not intruding, Grousestar. I just wanted to check up on you... I was hoping for a conversation as well. And maybe ask if you have any interest in leaving camp to go on a walk." The smoke tortoiseshell molly mewed softly. If cats blushed, then hell would Hollyfrost be a blushing mess. It was as if she was asking Grousestar to be her mate.
With a wavered breath, Hollyfrost looked to her paws sheepishly. You need to calm down- you are only asking her to go for a walk with you, not to be your mate. She probably doesn't like you that way. She thought to herself. It was probably obvious to everycat that Hollyfrost had the biggest crush on the Valleyclan leader, but she did try her hardest to hide it, knowing many would probably disapprove of the two being together in the end, anyways. Her yellow gaze eventually shifted back up to Grousestar, a small glint on hopefulness lighting in her irises. "M-Maybe we can hunt too, or... or check the borders? Yeah, hunt of check the borders." Hollyfrost added quickly, a smiling expression making it's way onto the mollies maw with ease as she tried to continue to relax, not wanting to freak the ruddy Abyssinian molly out.

{ SPOTTEDWING; outside of camp with Dawnwatcher -- @velveteenwolf Spottedwing chuckled a bit at the oxymoronic name. She was glad that her parents had been wise enough to name her accurately. When Dawnwatcher said that the names wouldn't be entirely ridiculous with her mate helping, the smaller she-cat gave her a sideways glance that said she thought otherwise. "They'll probably be even more ridiculous with him helping you than if you named them all on your own! He's probably going to name one, like, Pawkit," she said somewhat jokingly. "Wow, rude!" Spottedwing exclaimed when Dawnwatcher insinuated that she still found her annoying. With a soft nudge back, Spottedwing began purring again. "You should be glad I dragged you out of camp. Maybe an apprentice is making you a nice, comfy nest with duck feathers! Honestly, the amount of disrespect you show me is . . . disrespectful."
{ NIGHTRUNNER & JAGGEDLEAP; camp with Skywatcher -- -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊 Nightrunner hissed and batted a paw playfully at Skyhawk, pretending to be actually offended by his words. When he mellowed out again, so did she. "Yeah, I sure hope not. Maybe they'll go into the foothills and bother that tribe for a bit," the black she-cat scoffed with mild disdain. "StarClan knows they must be bored as a pile of rocks up on that mountain." Nightrunner followed her brother's bright blue gaze and saw him staring longingly at their leader again. He wasn't staring because he wanted to be with her, no, but because he wanted to be her. Again, the thought of getting him an apprentice flitted through her mind again. Maybe he'll be given one of Dawnwatcher's kits. It won't be too long of a wait now, what with how pregnant she's looking. Snapping out of her thoughts, she shook her head lightly and stood up. "No, I think I'm going to go rest for a while. I'll see if Jaggedleap is up there and tell him to head out with you if he is, though," she purred softly before licking her older brother's ear affectionately and leaping up the rocks. Lucky for Skyhawk, Jaggedleap was snoozing in his nest. Unlucky for Jaggedleap, he was snoozing in his nest and Nightrunner had found him. The stealthy she-cat padded over quietly and crouched down low so that she was nose-to-nose with him. Had any outside cat looked at them in that moment, they would have thought that they were looking at two different versions of the same cat. When Nightrunner bit down softly on Jaggedleap's ear, though, an outside cat would definitely be able to tell the difference between the siblings by the color of their eyes and the contrast of their voices. "What was that for?" Jaggedleap exclaimed angrily as he quickly sat up and batted at Nightrunner. The black she-cat quickly out maneuvered him and jumped to a slightly higher ledge where her nest was. "I just got back from patrol and Skyhawk wants go out hunting. Go play nice with our brother, maybe talk to him about getting an apprentice." With that, Nightrunner disappeared to the dark recesses of her ledge and settled down into her nest, finally ready to fall asleep. Jaggedleap was unfortunately not going to get back to sleep for quite some time, as he now had to go hunting with his brother. He didn't mind spending time with Skyhawk, he loved to actually, but he didn't exactly love being awoken from a deep sleep with a bite to the ear. Huffing, the large black tom made his way slowly down into the center of the camp. "Good morning, Skyhawk. Afternoon, actually."
{ GROUSESTAR camp with Hollyfrost -- -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊 Grousestar certainly hadn't been expecting any company and that was evident by how sleepy her usually sharp eyes were when she opened them to look at who had spoken. Normally she wouldn't be up in her den sleeping while the rest of the clan was awake and doing activities to provide for the clan, but she had been a part of the late night to early morning border patrol that had found the coyote scent. It wasn't unusual for her to join in on hunting parties and border patrols like she had the night previous; in fact, she thought it was an important duty of a leader to join their warriors in doing such simplistic things so as to keep morale high and tensions low. For as long as she had been leading, it had worked. Blinking the sleep out of her bright eyes, Grousestar stretched out her front legs and slowly rose up to her full height. She was quite a bit taller than Hollyfrost, but, again, that was nothing unusual for her as she was taller than most she-cats in the clan. "You're not intruding at all, Hollyfrost. You're actually doing me a favor by waking me up; I can't just sleep all day long, as much as I would like to," she said seriously. "Batfrost and I sent out Bearpelt and Nightrunner early this morning to chase the coyotes out and make sure the rest of the borders were secure so there's no need for a border patrol. I wouldn't mind going hunting, however. We can talk along the way." While Grousestar may have come off to outsiders as cold and uncaring in that moment, she was actually just being herself. The Abyssinian she-cat had never been overly expressive, even as a kit and a young apprentice. This meant that only the cats who knew her well knew how to read her emotions. If Hollyfrost knew how to read her emotions, well, Grousestar was screwed. Over the past few moons, Grousestar had been watching Hollyfrost closely due to her receiving her first apprentice. Pinepaw's training was going swimmingly but it was Grousestar's duty to ensure that the pair never strayed off their good path in training. Unfortunately, that also meant that Grousestar had grown closer with Hollyfrost and had actually developed feelings for her. Now the ruddy leader was stuck in a rut, one that she didn't know how to get out of for once.
[ if any of that is too hard to read for anyone, please let me know - I'd be more than happy to change it. I'm just experimenting with different post layouts rn ]

Headbutting her best friend in a good natured and playful gesture, stretching out her legs with a rumbling sigh as she grew used to moving once again. Being cooped up in the nursery hadn't left her in the best physical shape, though she maintained her slender frame, her legs were no longer as used as they once were to movement for so long at once. That coupled with her very swollen stomach caused her to ache in a frustrating manner. "He's not that bad," she replied with a laugh in response to her comment. Feeling an instinctual need to defend the tom she loved, even if he wasn't present. Not many approved of her relationship, namely because of how young she was, but the queen was happy and content to ignore the cruel comments, and occasionally swat the cats who dare speak them too loudly. "The apprentices have far too much on their paws to be worrying about making me a nest," she sniffed at the idea. Shaking her head as she moved comfortably, listening to the world around them carefully.

{ SPOTTEDWING outside of camp with Dawnwatcher -- @velveteenwolf "I don't know, Pinepaw seemed pretty excited at the prospect of building a nest for such a pregnant queen." Maybe Spottedwing had overheard Hollyfrost telling her apprentice to build nests in the nursery, maybe she had told her to do so herself. Who knows? Spottedwing purred a bit louder, knowing that Dawnwatcher would be so much more comfortable in the newly-made nest when they returned back to camp. At that time they'd have already caught fish and eaten so maybe the queen would take a rest. If anyone deserves it, she does! She really would need to telly Ivytangle and Cloudchaser about how much she was exerting herself, though. That thought kept coming back to her mind and nagging at her. What if she was damaging the kits' health, or even her own? "Well!" she exclaimed to shove her thoughts away forcefully. "I think you two are a match made in StarClan and if anyone has anything to say about you two, I will personally fight them. Or maybe I'll get the apprentices to help me put fleas and ticks in their nests. Hmmm." Spottedwing seemed to seriously be considering that heinous plan; hopefully she wouldn't carry through with it.
