Chaos might have done everything in its power to destroy us, but we have long come to own the chaos into which we were raised. Every part of our day to day lives has adapted to survive the world which would otherwise see us dead and the clan destroyed. It might have taken many moons, and more deaths than most of us would wish to count, but after seasons of warfare, the light won ad the darkness was banished to the shadows where it belongs. Two seasons have passed since the chaos released its grip from our homes, and the clan are only just beginning to grow used to a life of peace which evaded them for so long. Warriors now thrill kits with the stories of their fights fo for their lives, a memory which now seems little more than a distant dream. But our peace doesn’t seem like it ever intended to last, and the darkness is beginning to drive its claws back into the clan, this time having learned the lessons they failed before, and intent on the fact that if they cant have the clan this time, the clan will be destroyed. After having spent much of your life in warfare, will you do everything you can to keep it? Or will you admit defeat and join the chaos which has long called your name.
1. Forum Rules. A non-negotiable rule, any and all rules which are enforced by the forums are to be followed whilst on this thread. 2. Activity. Whilst fo course we all have lives, I do ask that should you intend to join as a character key to the plot, you be on at least 5 days a week to roleplay and help keep the plot moving. For those wishing to join as normal characters, please try to be on at least three days a week. 3. Literacy. Should you wish to join, I request that you be capable of regularly achieving a literacy minimum of five lies per character written about per post, I’m sorry but if you feel unable to do so, then this isnt the clan for you. 4. Joining. On initial joining I have a few requests, namely that you join with a minimum of two characters, one of each gender to help keep numbers even. Furthermore, you may have one apprentice for every two cats of other ranks you create to help keep numbers reasonable. Lastly, please for every three cats that you make, please have at least one be a dark forest ally Please don’t join as cats who are or who have backgrounds as rogues, loners or kittypets. So I kw you have read my rules, please put Rising from the Ashes. 5. Characters/Realism.Despite our subject matter not always being the most realistic, I do expect there to be a reasonable level of realism underlining our roleplay and the characters we create. Your characters should have both strengths and flaws, and no cat wins every fight and catches every prey they hunt. LGBT+ characters are more than welcome. 6. Plagiarism. Hate that this needs to be said but of recent the need to has arisen, hence. Anything on this thread is not to be taken without the express permission of the user who made it. The theft of anything will result in you being reported and the thread equesting to be taken down. 7. Bloodlines. An additional rule which I find helps add to the depth of a clan, I ask that where your cats share traits with the character of another member, you request if they can be related in some way. Whilst its not compulsory, do ask that you don’t join as your own family. 8. Drama. Whilst it often breaks my heart into a million pieces, drama is one of my favourite aspects of roleplaying and hence I encourage to make as much of it as you would like! All I ask is that you involve as many members as you can and dont let it directly conflict with our main plot. Otherwise, have fun!
Name, Depict your cat’s appearance and personality, and where relevant some of their history. Please remember to be inclusive of both strengths and flaws, and make it a minimum of 6 lines long. @screenname Rank Relationship Other Click the joining page header to be directed to the page!

A warfaring clan for the longest time, TorrentClan has long adapted to this way of life as opposed to the environment around them. Big in build and muscular in stature, those considered weak have long been killed so smaller traits in our cats aren’t as common anymore. Climbing and swimming is an essential part of our lives, hence the majority of our number are strong swimmers and hence have muscular hind legs. Speed is not a key feature to our lives, and hence our cats tend to be slow footed. As to blend in with the dark greens and browns of our territory, TorrentClan cats often carry darker coated pelts. The most predominant colours being blacks, greys, browns and russets with large variations in between. Patterned coats are more common than solid colours, but they aren’t unheard of. Once upon a time our clan valued morality, intelligence and kindness, but long since has those values fallen into ruin. In the aftermath of victory, the clan has been trying to rebuild themselves around these morales, bit by bit we are getting there but it is an uphill battle for many.
Making its home on the banks of a fast flowing river, its territory is made up largely of the fields beside it, and there is a small woodland within those lands. Its major sources of prey are the fish from the river, and the mammals and birds found within the woodland. Whilst hares and rabbits can be found, the majority of the clan aren’t fast enough to catch them. Babbling Brook. Cutting its course through the copse is a small brook, littered with rocky banks it is a good place to practice fishing for the inexperienced due to its gentle flow and shallow depths. Fallen Oak. As the name might suggest, it is a massive oak tree which was felled during an especially strong thunderstorm, and its carcass has remained ever since, squirrels often clamber over its dry branches in play, so it is a good practice place for both climbing and hunting the swift footed creatures. Herb Hollow. Where the fields fold away at the edge of our territory into two leg habitats, there is a small disused twoleg garden beside an abandoned house, in which the medicine cat gains much of its herbs. Night Rose. Found within the great roots of one of the oldest trees in the territory, one can find the resting place of the clan’s connection with StarClan, a simple rock formation which shines when the moonlight strikes its rocks. Painted Ridge. North of the river is a small mountain, on which when the sun rises it strikes this certain place and casts it aglow with the golden colours of early morning sunlight. Sycamore Copse. The aforementioned woodland, it is a medium sized collection of trees, the most predominant species of which is the sycamore tree, hence the name. The Rapids. A part of the river in which rocks litter through its course creating rapids, inexperienced swimmers have to be careful when swimming in this area for fear they will be crushed against its surface. Warrior’s End. From the youngest kit to the most ancient elder, all who considered themselves TorrentClan on their deaths will be laid to rest in this place, it is a beautiful and flower filled field.
Creating its camp in a small meadow cloaked at the edge of the copse, it is well sheltered from the poor weather, and hidden enough that predators don’t easily stumble upon it. Leader’s Den. Found to the side of camp, it is made from a tumble of rocks settled together in such a manner that the hollow inside creates a den large enough for the leader and their mate to make a comfortble nest. Medicine Cat Den. A comfortable and sheltered den, it is found within the floor of camp and its entrance slopes inward, covered with reeds collected from the local rivers to create a safe den. Warrior’s Den. The largest of the clan’s in camp, it is crafted in a cat made fox earth with multiple chambers, creating a multi level den for the warriors to enjoy a well deserved night of rest. Apprentice’s Den. Making their den within the hollow of a large tree within camp, it isn’t huge but it is warm and comfortable. Above the ground so safe from flooding, its bark provides plentiful moss from which to craft nests. Nursery. Similar in nature to the medicine cat den, but it is tucked beneath the roots of a small tree within camp, giving it shelter from the elements and hiding from view save for those who know where to look. Elder’s Den. Found within the hollow trunk of a long fallen tree, its roots remain in tact though the branches are not, creating a closed off den safe from the cold and rain of the world outside.

Dragonflystar, Set on tall and muscular legs, she is deceptively strong considering her small stature compared to most, but knows how to use her wits to her advantage. Marked predominantly with a coat of black, she is splashed with markings of orange gold making her a calico. She has what is known as heterochromia, meaning that she has two eyes of different colours. The right being a sharp amber, and the left being a pale ocean green. A quiet cat, she is loyal to her clan and willing to do whatever she can to protect it, even to the extent of giving her remaining lives. She has a good hart, but it has been buried away under many walls after moons upon moons of betrayal, making her true kindnesss a rarity outside of those closest to her.Tragedy has long been a mainstay in this young shecat’s life. Having lead her clan through the rebellion and the aftermath’s of shaking themselves free of the grip of the dark forest. The recent seasons have been the first she has known of peace, her pwn father being the perpetrator of much of her clan’s pain. @velveteenwolf
Leopardbite, Leopardbite's name is just like her personality; Not the most pleasant. She is a sharp-tongued she-cat who isn't afraid to use her teeth and claws, although her scathing words usually get the job done. She's known as a cat who is "full of hate," as some of her clan mates say. And although she has very little friends, no cat can argue she is an excellent fighter, arguably one of the best in the clan. In battle, she's very determined, and never gives up unless she is forced to. She is very independent, and doesn't like when others offer their help. It's not often she's seen being polite to her clan mates, but some days it's easier to get on her good side than others. Leopardbite does have a softer side, although she refuses to admit it. When she cares for someone, she cares deeply and will never let anything bad happen to them. But it will take a lot to break her outer shell and reach her softer, kinder side. And once she's made up her mind about someone, it's nearly impossible to change it. Leopardbite is also very ambitious, and will do almost anything to come into some position of power, as she truly believes she is destined to lead. And, despite her rough exterior, this she-cat looks very feminine. Her coat is a shiny golden with leopard-like spots covering her whole body. Her eyes are a pretty color that looks like a mix of green and blue. She is pregnant. plagυe docтor

Eagleslash, With such a fierce, foreboding name, one would think this tom is a cat not to be messed with. However, that is a mere facade. Eagleslash isn't the most shy cat out there, but he isn't one to fight. He isn't good at it, nor does he like it. He was given his name in hopes that as he matured this would change, but to this day he is still quite cowardly when confronted with enemies. He will fight for his clan no doubt, he is extremely loyal, but he isn't of much help and he knows it. Plus, he doesn't do all to well with pain... quite a useless warrior, one might think. But he helps his clan in many other ways; He is an excellent hunter, and can usually be expected to have the most prey when he returns from a hunting patrol. He's also quite into helping the clan settle disputes, whether they be with a couple individuals, or a dispute between the whole clan. Eagleslash is more of a thinker than doer. But he isn't introverted, as stated before he isn't exactly shy, and likes to make friends within the clan with the cats who are friendly to him. His fur is a dark, deep russet with black tabby markings. His underbelly and chest are more of a light ginger, and white covers the bottom portion of his muzzle. He has amber eyes. plagυe docтor
Hawkshadow, Very much the common cat for his clan, this moulder tom is a massive cat set on long muscular legs and stocky build. This tom is intimidating by just about every definition of the word, whilst not the friendliest cat in the world, he is a loyal and level headed older tom who has grown cold largely thanks to the aftermath of war. However, he is by no means a cruel or malicious cat, and one who is very difficult to anger or lose his temper, but when he does a cat with any common sense will know to get the heck out of there. Coated with a pelt of darkrusset red, he is striped down the dorsal with a long black stripe, which etches down has sides and tapers off into whips like markings down his ribs. His eyes are lit with the fire of a dark yellow colour. @velveteenwolf
Smokeblaze, A dark grey shecat with long fur, tufted ears, and smoldering amber eyes; Smokeblaze is visually imposing; and a classic Torrentclan warrior. She's sturdily built with a wide stance, athletic legs, and large paws that hide curved alabaster claws. Fur cowlicks around her neck, and cascades in messy ringlets down her chest, underbelly, and tail. The majority of her pelt is slate grey, with a darker mask on her face and paws. Lighter tufts line her cheeks, chest and underbelly. Mottled streaks of light grey also cross-hatch her fur in faint markings. A few scars blemish the warrior's pelt, the most notable one cutting a "V" through her left ear and stretching into a rugged curve down the nape of her neck. Proud of this prominent battle scar, Smokeblaze enjoys telling the story to every kit, or 'paw that would listen. Fiercely loyal, this greyscale warrior is quick to jump into battle; but has an impatient streak that dampens her hunting skills. Average at best, this large shecat is far better at combat than she is at catching mice. Impulsive, and competitive, Smokeblaze makes up for her flaws with stubborn vigor. Tekoa
Sunstorm, Sunstorm is a black tabby she-cat with yellow on her muzzle and amber eyes. Cool and collected most of the time, she prefers to simply wait and watch over her clanmates rather than draw claws. Sunstorm is the type of cat that actually likes to make deals with her clanmates, doing things in exchange for something else. She has an almost paralyzing fear of lightning, despite having the suffix of -storm in her name that stems from her nearly getting hit by a tree that was struck by lightning as a young apprentice. Because of this, she nearly considered being a medicine cat in order to avoid more situations like that, but the medicine cat at the time talked her out of the idea, leaving her no choice but to become a warrior. Now, she's determined to do the best she can, and has a vague ambition to try and be deputy one day. Embergem
Timbershadow Timbershadow is a long-furred dark brown tabby tom with a white muzzle and green eyes. Dark-hearted to the core, he lives for the thrill of conflict, and isn't thrilled with the more peaceful direction the clan is going, wanting to bring back the days of fighting that he heard about as a kit. With his rough personality, he doesn't really get along with any other cats, nor does he really seek to. He's ambitious, wanting to learn every trick in the book to try and up his enemies. He has a hard time with hunting patrols; one, because he loses control and will more often then not shred the prey that's supposed to be for the clan, and two, because he has a fear of birds. He's not good at hiding his intentions, either, so as long as a cat watches him, they'll know what he's going to do next. Embergem Mountainpaw, Mountainpaw is a pretty she-cat, her coat consisting of just white and black. The main color being white, with black patches all over to represent what we would call a tuxedo cat. Her eyes are a bright yellow that shimmer with any emotion she may be feeling. She's on the smaller side, and will always be even as she gets older. But Mountainpaw prefers it that way; She comes off as approachable, friendly, and kind. However, deep down, she is anything but. Mountainpaw thinks the clan has no place for weakness; And although she'd rather just drive out the weak ones rather than kill them, either way she thinks it is just doing the clan a service to rid the weakest links. Deep down she is loyal to the clan, as she just thinks that is what's best for them. She does get enjoyment out of the fight and the kill, but isn't as blood-thirsty as past warriors. Mountainpaw will always fight for what she thinks is right, even if what she thinks will do more harm than good. Her morals are extremely important to her. She isn't the friendliest cat, but not the short-tempered either. Passive would be a good way to describe her, and she can get sarcastic when she's irritated. But once you break the bond from acquaintance to friend, you'd find that Mountainpaw is very caring to those she is close to, and would do anything for them even if it cost her her life. plagυe docтor

Queens, Open, feel free to join as but please first ask for a mate from amidst our existing toms. @screenname
Kits, Please don’t join as motherless kits.. @screenname Speckledtooth, A ticked tabby tom with a greying muzzle and crooked tail. A single stripe of white snakes from the middle of his chest, under his belly and ends at the tip of his tail. Wiry, stubborn and full of life; it's hard to keep Snaggletooth in the elder's den. He enjoys sitting outside of the elder's den, apart of the hustle and bustle of camp. Scars mark his pelt in ragged curves, all battle scars from his many moons as a warrior. True to his name, Speckledtooth's pelt is covered in flecks of darker brown and black ticking on his muzzle and around his eyes. With age, his muscle tone has faded, but this elder still is massive: true to the TorrentClan heritage that he is very proud of. . Tekoa

The clan’s troubles began what feels like a lifetime ago, when a stranger came to the clan with new ideas. The clan, in the aftermath of a difficult leafbare where many cat had fallen to illness or greencough. The clan were all to susceptible to new ideas, and that would be their downfall. It began with claims that cats who fell outside of the norms, the smaller, the old or the ill, should make sacrifices and eat last to allow the useful cats to eat more. And it only escalated from there, until cats were being culled even from birth. The slightest sign of weakness was a death sentence. Until the apprentices den and nursery were near empty. By the time anyone picked up the courage to stop it, the clan was nearly destroyed, and the leader was thrown out by their own litter of kits and a select group of rebels. Among them, Dragonflystar ho would later take on the role of leader herself. But in victory it would seem that the clan has finally clawed itself some long deserved peace. Kits are allowed to thrive into greatness instead of being born with the fear of deaths on their heads. However, that wasnt the last the clan would hear of the darkness. Who continued to infiltrate the dreams of those still uncertain about weakness in the clan, planting plague and darkness in their minds until cats aren’t sure of themselves anymore. Slowly but surely the darkness is trying to regain its grip on the clan, if not the dark forest will see the clan ruined once and for all. Leader - Dragonflystar; @velveteenwolf . Padding out from the warrior's den, Sunstorm blinked in the morning sunlight. It seemed like it was going to be a decent start to the day, no moisture heavy in the air. It was part of her routine every morning now to go out in the early hours of the day to see if there was any scent of rain in the air. Especially since...she gave her head a shake, cutting the thought off before it could fully form. She was a warrior now, and one that would do everything she could for Dragonflystar to make sure the clan continued it's peaceful reign. Once she had cleared her head, she looked around the camp, wondering if she should ask her leader if she wanted a patrol for hunting or borders first.

Returning from a hunt with a pair of mice swinging from her jaws, and an especially swollen stomach was the calico who called herself leader of TorrentClan. Only in the last few days had the warrior queen begun to show signs of expecting, due to her rather slender nature it hadn’t been especially obvious beforehand, but was now beginning to take its toll on the soon to be new mother. Dropping her prey off on the pile, she dipped her head to Hawkshadow as he passed, and flicked her tail in dismissal of her patrol. Their hunt had been fruitful, but the leader was never one in the habit of sitting idly. Hence her multicoloured gaze flicked across the meadow, in search of something to do in order to keep her orange tipped paws busy. ——————————————————————————————————————— From the dark entrance of the warriors den appeared the dark furred head of Hawkshadow, still limping from an injury the day before. Fortunately not the result of some glorious victory over a dreadful beast, but a mistake in swimming too close to the rapids and ending up at their mercy for a heartbeat too long. Nothing fatal, and only his dignity suffered any truly disastrous blow. He would be fine in a couple of days, but for the time being he was hardly in the best of moods, which in fairness was hardly a new thing for the russet red warrior. He nodded an acknowledgement to the black furred shecat as he passed her, but otherwise exchanged no words. Finding himself a small sparrow amongst the meagre fresh kill pile, and settling down to eat in a sunny patch of grass. Hoping at least a full belly would ease his grumpy temperament, for his belly was howling like a wolf.

Spotting her leader return, Sunstorm padded over, pausing long enough to nod a greeting to Hawkshadow before continuing on to Dragonflystar. "I see the hunting's good this morning." She said in way of greeting, dipping her head respectfully to the clan leader. "Though...with all due respect, wouldn't it be better if you left the hunting to the rest of us?" She asked, flicking an ear as she looked the other she-cat up and down, noting the plump belly of an expectant queen. There was a bit of a concerned note in her voice as she spoke, but there was also a slight light in her eyes. This sort of thing would be a good opportunity to show that she could help take care of the clan just as well as a deputy should, and now that she was a full warrior, the desire had been growing in the back of her mind.

Ears perking up at the sound of pawsteps, she turned on the spot to see the dark furred warrior approaching. Nodding in greeting, moving her mottled tail to wrap it around her paws. The expectant queen nodded in agreement, thankful that the fresh kill pile now at the very least looked a little more appealing than it had done when she had taken the patrol out. However, Dragonflystar frowned a little at the warrior’s suggestion. It wasn’t the first time she had heard it, but it was frustrating all the same when a clanmate brought it up. “I’m fine,” was her only response at first. Ears continuing to swivel around as she listened to the sounds of camp surrounding them, always on alert in spite of the recent moons of peace. Though a slightly sheepish appearance darkened her gaze as she added with a sigh, “TorrentClan needs a strong leader now more than ever, not one relegated to the nursery. Not just yet,” the concerns still burned in the expectant leader’s eyes. Her body still carried the scars of far too many battles for the moons she had lead, as they did most of the clan. She was yet to adapt to peace.

Sunstorm flattened her ears for a moment. "I'm not saying you need to stay in the nursery. Let some of us handle the hunting." She let out a sigh. If anything, she had a vague idea of what it was like to always want something to do, though it didn't seem as if hers was as bad as Dragonflystar's. "Why not just stick to border patrols? You can make sure the clan's borders are safe and if things get rough, there's others to help back you up in a fight." Sitting down, she blinked sympathetically, wrapping her own tail over her paws. "Knowing that our borders are free of any remnants right now would go a long way to helping everyone settle down, I think. We're all still on edge from the fights we endured...." she trailed off, her gaze flitting briefly to a scar on the leader before letting her ears finally straighten. "And you have another duty right now as well." She added softly. A part of her was a bit jealous if she was being honest, of the kits that Dragonflystar was carrying, wanting to one day experience that with a mate of her own.

Taking no notice of Sunstorm’s ear pinning, the leader was all too aware that tensions continued to run high through her clannmate’s veins, even those who were born in the aftermath of all that the clan had been through and wasnt about to hold it against anyone. But it did little to lessen her frustration about everything else, Dragonflystar felt the need to keep busy for fear her brain might have exploded in her skull. Her nights continued to be plagued with nightmares of her father, and memories of all she had seen fall. In truth the warrior felt guilty at the very thought of remaining still and idle, when they lay dead but she continued to live. Lowering her nose to touch it to the scarred tissue of her underbelly, where little fur remained to grow thanks to the level of scarring. The queen couldn’t help but think her clanmate potentially had a point, but the proud in nature warrior struggled to admit it. “I dont know,” was her eventual reply after a moment of contemplation. “It seems that so much always needs doing, and it doesn’t help anyone to have another burden in camp.” Her words sounded all too like what her father had once said, though under a different context. “The kits need me, the clan needs me. Its a wonder I dont get torn in two sometimes,” her words sounded humourous, but the worry continued to burn in her gaze.

"StarClan have blessed the clan and you by giving you your nine lives, yes, but you're still a cat, just like us." Sunstorm said softly, a faint glint of light returning to her own eyes at the attempted humor. "But you have yet to choose a deputy as well. Having another cat to help manage the clan...it would allow you some more freedom to see to the other cats of the clan." She gave a rough purr, whiskers twitching in amusement. "Because, let's face facts, Dragonflystar. You are too stubborn at times for your own good and you tend to push yourself too far." She lifted a paw, reaching it out partially towards the leader, making sure to keep her claws sheathed, in an attempt at a soothing motion. "And I don't think even Timbershadow would be too thrilled at the thought of our leader running herself ragged and trying to be everywhere at once. Not even StarClan themselves can do such a feat."

What very nearly sounded like a chuckle came from the leader’s lips before she was quite able to stifle the sound. “Unnamedclaw is a fine deputy,” her response was a firm one lowering her gaze to flicker across her orange tipped paws. Though her whiskers did twtch a little in amusement regarding Sunstorm’s stubborn comment. Few cats were brave enough to speak that way to a leader, and she found it very slightly funny. “I know several cats who I think would rather see me imprisoned in the nursery for the rest of my life,” again with the tone of humour to her voice. But there was a dark meaning to it.

"And I'm not one of them." Sunstorm huffed in amusement, her tail-tip flicking. Though she still stood by her comment, she was glad to see that Dragonflystar was at least able to see the humor in it, even if it was brief. "I've seen how you are, so I know that sitting back is basically like rolling over and showing your underbelly to a fox, but if for no other reason than for your kits, at least think about letting us do more for you and the clan." She said, tilting her head slightly to the side as she spoke, hoping to at least put that idea into the leader's head, if nothing else. "You have the ability to lead this clan out of the darkness, and part of that would be to show the clan that our strength only grows with your kits. I'm not saying to stop entirely, just...try and pull back on the hunting. From one clanmate to another." She said, finally getting to her paws.
(Why did I have a desire to actually make a character called "Unnamedclaw" now? xD)

(for the anarchy is strong in every clan I’m in EG, you should know this much by now I feel!)
Flicking her long tail so that it rested across her clanmate’s shoulder, a simple gesture but a thankful one all the same. For a moment the soon to be new mother said nothing, her gaze shutting for a breath heartbeat as she let out a low sighing sound. “I appreciate your advice,” never a cat to use ten words where two would do just as well, but there was meaning to the way she carried herself and spoke. Returning to her own paws, the leader stretched out. Feeling the ache leave her bones for a second or two before straightening up again with a gentle sigh. “Now I hear there’s a fox family of three on the border, I’m going to lead a solo patrol there right now to chase it off.” Despite the serious manner she held in her tone, the glint in her eyes gave away the joking nature of her words.

(I’m sorry to keep being a pain Tekoa but you need to have two characters of other ranks in order to have an apprentice as to help numbers remain even XD plagυe docтor your forms are awesome, but I’m sorry I’d rather not have one person have both med cat apprentice and deputy?)

(True that.)
Sunstorm blinked, understanding the sincerity of Dragonflystar's first words. It would be a hard period to adjust to, but seeing the leader now left no doubt in her mind that everything would work out for the better in the end. Well, as long as that second comment stayed the joke her eyes said it was, anyways. "Going solo is the complete opposite of a patrol, if you don't mind me saying." She said in exasperation, though, like Dragonflystar, the teasing glint to her eyes took the bite out of her words. "Should I get Timbershadow and Hawkshadow to have on standby or are you going to show us one of their pelts when you get back for your new nest?" She shook her head at her own words. "Though if the border patrol hasn't been assigned yet, I'd be glad to go if that's what you're asking." She added in a more serious tone. It was time to turn the topic back to what she had originally wanted in the beginning.
