{ t e a k t u f t } w/ patrols camp "You're welcome, Crocodileblood," the guard mewed, dipping her head in respect to the tom.
While the two patrols were forming, Teaktuft saw Twistedivy heading Crocodileblood's way. It wasn't long before the leader pulled his brother aside to speak to him. She turned her attention to Mallowsky's group, seeing that they were eager to leave and awaiting instructions.
"Mallowsky will be taking you to the Caved Ruins to hunt," she explained, feather tail flicking behind her. She faced the Siamese she-cat, who was left in charge. "When your patrol is ready to go, feel free to leave."
coding by officialrainleafwcf { t a m a r i n d f u r } w/ patrol camp Tamarindfur's attention was bouncing from cat to cat. First it started with Teaktuft, one of the leader's guard, then it went to Mallowsky who was going to be the patrol's leader if she accepted the position. After that, his gaze fell upon Falconfrost and Sootstrike, the latest additions to the hunting patrol. They could get enough hunting done today, especially with the amount of cats each patrol was taking.
"Great!" the pale brown tomcat blurted out, tail twitching eagerly. "If Mallowsky's ready to lead us, we'll be off soon, right?"

{ orchidpool - wildclan camp - Sand }
The white tabby turned to see Cloudchaser and Cinnamonpaw approach, whiskers twitching with pleasure. She was only just planning on asking the two what their plans were for the day; obviously now she didn't have to. Orchidpool listened to the older tom's suggestion, nodding a little as she liked the sound of it. She glanced at Cashewpaw, watching for his reaction before making a final decision. Her pale-eyed apprentice seemed up for the suggestion, finalizing the warrior's thoughts. This plan wasn't exactly what Orchidpool had in mind, but she didn't seem to care. If they all still had the energy, maybe she could suggest the small hunt she had originally thought of. Or maybe they would do it ahead of the practice fight; they would probably need the extra energy if they wanted to perform well.
"I think Cashewpaw's willing to participate," Orchidpool observed, eyes almost amused. "It sounds like a plan to me. Cashewpaw and I haven't eaten; would you be up for a little hunt beforehand?" She left out the part where she had noticed Cinnamonpaw eating a mouse before the two had wandered over; the pale-furred warrior wanted to save Cloudchaser some trouble. Orchidpool would allow her own apprentice to eat before chores were complete, but she was younger than the large white tom and probably wouldn't get away with it if she tried.

{ t h y m e p u r r} with duckthorn riverside Whether Duckthorn would acknowledge that Thymepurr made a good point or not, she, deep down, knew she was right. To her, that's all that mattered in the moment. After padding closely behind the tom, she could see the riverside tail lengths away. Had she realized they were closer before, she would have swam to the river bank and dry off. It was too late for that now, but maybe if no patrols passed them, she would have the chance to swim.
"Sounds about right to me," she meowed, glancing at the small feline as he slumped down to lie besides the riverside. "We have nothing to worry about anyways."
Yawning, the blue point Siamese arched her back and stretched her limbs before falling onto her side instantaneously. She felt the cool touch of the surface beneath her short fur while a purr rumbled in her throat. Now this was the way to live, especially on a hot and humid day like today but it felt like something was missing.
"Do you come here often, Duckthorn?" she asked, genuinely curious. Thymepurr had never thought of visiting the riverside when she wanted to escape camp or ignore her duties.

{ cinnamonpaw - wildclan camp - Darkηesque }
The ginger-brown cat felt a swell of pride as Cloudchaser agreed to his suggestion. His fluffy white mentor was often proud of his apprentice, but it felt just as nice every time Cinnamonpaw was praised. The smaller feline bounded after the older cat, feeling much more energized after his meal of mouse. He caught Orchidpool's deep blue stare, suddenly feeling a little nervous. He wondered if the white tabby had seen him eating before he had done anything productive. Cinnamonpaw realized he had paused in his steps; his pelt grew a little warm and he skipped back over to his mentor, masking his abrupt stop.
He looked over at Cashewpaw again, curious to see how the tom would react to their suggestion. The apprentice felt pleased when his denmate seemed to like the idea; now all he had to do was wait anxiously for Orchidpool's reply. He hoped she'd say yes; he was looking forward to putting his enthusiasm to good use. His amber eyes brightened as the white tabby obliged and he turned to Cloudchaser. He nearly opened his mouth to speak but when Orchidpool suggested hunting, he felt a stab of guilt. He wasn't hungry. Maybe the other warrior had seen him earlier. Hopefully his mentor would say yes to mask what had happened.

... ↪ • Cloudchaser w/ Cinnamonpaw, Cashewpaw, Orchidpool -- It made Cloudchaser smile knowing that this plan was basically piecing itself together. His ears perked when he heard names being called for morning patrols and none of them turned out being theirs. Perhaps Teaktuft and Crocdileblood had seen them mingling into their own training sessions. He gave a small grateful purr before the airy, unfocused tom let his attentiom fall back on Orchidpool in time to hear another suggestion from her about fitting in a bit of hunting for her and her apprentice.
"Oh nope, can't do that," he responded, which seemed very rudely out of character for the older tom, but his tone was joking the whole time and the chuckle he made after especially gave it away. "Yes, we can. I wouldn't let Cashewpaw fight on an empty belly!" Cloudchaser meowed with a nod of his head and still another small laugh. It seemed he was the authority here, but he had a hard time acting his age. That's probably why he was never an option to become a guard even though he possessed a strong body.
It also didn't seem to be a secret that he had allowed Cinnamonpaw to eat and it'd be somewhat of an unfair advantage over Cashewpaw. An effort to curb that decision more in his apprentice's favor, Cloudchaser basically gave up a meal and hadn't eaten either. He wouldn't mind a bite, too. "Chasing prey will get their blood-pumping and muscles going. Let's go ahead," Cloudchaser added, basically reading Orchidpool's mind before sweeping his tail and leading them out of camp and down the temple's steps.

{ mallowsky - wildclan camp - Sand }
The small she-cat had been staring off into space when she heard name calked. Mallowsky blinked up, surprised to see Teaktuft looking right at her and asking if she would lead the patrol. The Siamese caught on what the female guard was doing and she nearly narrowed her eyes at the cat. Teaktuft obviously wasn't pleased with Mallowsky's attitude and was putting her out on the spot, in hopes of seeing an adjustment in the Siamese's behavior. Mallowsky twitched her whisker; she would behave alright. The lazy cat sighed dramatically before giving her answer, "Oh, if I must. I wouldn't want to let you down, would I?" She turned away from the guard, tail swishing behind her. She looked upon her patrol blankly for a moment before giving the "ok" to go.
Mallowsky led the patrol of four out of the camp rather languidly, not seeming to be in a hurry to get to their destination. The pale-furred warrior nearly tripped over a tree root as she wasn't paying attention to her paws, making her pelt grow hot out of embarrassment. Though small and nimble, Mallowsky can still manage being clumsy.

{ c a s h e w p a w } w/ orchidpool, cloudchaser, & cinnamonpaw Cashewpaw observed the interactions between Orchidpool and Cloudchaser as the two began to piece the day's plans together. He became more enthusiastic when the mentors mentioned a small hunt so he could eat before sparring with Cinnamonpaw which made the tom feel at peace. A purr rumbled lightly in this throat before Cloudchaser decided that it was time to leave camp.
The pale eyed tom stretched his back limbs quickly before hurrying after the rest of the patrol. His gaze darted towards Cinnamonpaw for a second and reverted to the two warriors ahead, who were in good spirits. Maybe a small hunt and some sparring would be worth the trouble for once. coding by officialrainleafwcf

Happy to be out of the camp, Sootstrike quickly followed after Mallowsky, trotting through the jungle off to one side. His whiskers twitched as he scented the air and he started to day dream. I hope we catch a quail today. Sootstrike began to picture himself curled up eating the small bird. So engrossed, he didn't notice Mallowsky's fumble for a moment and was unsure of what he saw in the first place. "What happened?" He asked, brow furrowed in confusion.

"Thank you, Teaktuft." the leader murmured. Crocodileblood was about to take his patrol out when he saw the rapidly approaching form of his brother. He stilled the patrol with a flick of his tail and turned back to talk to Twistedivy. "Well, did you investigate your strange noises?" he asked with an amused twitch of his whiskers. His brother was always so on edge. Everything was fine but if it made him feel better to go check, who was he to stop him? Funnily enough, their leader seemed amused. Twistedivy could be paranoid about that later. He had to report what they heard. "The sounds were a large coalition of monkeys or apes. Possibly orangutans." The warrior blinked, quickly adding, "As you know, they don't usually get this close, nor that loud. Should we investigate further?" Though it was daunting, he'd have no problem going out again if Crocodileblood issued it. After all, Orangeblossom even said she wanted to go back. It could be a good idea.

The ginger she-cat glanced up at the sound of her mentor's voice and flattened her ears. As much as she wanted to set her paw down and continue hunting, she knew getting the quill deeper would be mouse-brained. Instead, Foxpaw held up her paw for Leopardhawk and grimaced. "Could you just pull this out real quick?" She asked, "The hedgehog got me before I could knock it over..."Leopardhawk sees the quill and dipped her head. She walked in close and examined the quill embedded in her paw. "Brace yourself." She leaned in and gently bites down on the quill and ranks it back. Leopardhawk tosses the quill away and flicked her tail. "There ya go."

(( Hi! I hope you guys don't mind me joining in! C: ))
Buzzardjaw | -> Camp Settled in a crooked position outside the Elder's den, Buzzardjaw regarded camp with a vacant expression. His mostly black pelt, speckled grey with age, was bedraggled and balmy against the heat. The elder tom stretched, then curled his white-tipped front paws under his chest. Voices caught his attention, but they were murky against the background noise of the rainforest. From what he could tell, a patrol or hunting party of some sort was being sent out. Oh, did he want to join. Anything to get out of camp. The humid air was thick and sticky on his tongue. Squinting, he tried (and failed) to figure out who was going.
Buzzardjaw closed his eyes with a sigh. His vision wasn't what it used to be and it frustrated him to admit it. He pulled himself up and wobbled for a few steps before he caught his balance. His memory was foggy, especially short term, and it occasionally sent him on tangents. He struggled with names and faces, and sadly some cats slipped through the cracks of his patchy recollection. Blinking, the elder crouched and stalked after a blurry gecko climbing the woven barrier of the Elder's den. "You'll do great in the fresh-kill pile," Buzzardjaw purred, his stubbed tail twitching.

Foxpaw flinched when her mentor yanked the quill out, but somehow managed to keep in any squeak of pain. The ginger she-cat sighed in relief and gave the pad a quick kick to clean away everything. "Thank you, Loepardhawk," she mewed, putting a little weight on it. There was just a slight discomfort. Maybe she would ask Mintsong about it later. Foxpaw looked up at her mentor again, "What are we doing now?"

Though it was daunting, he'd have no problem going out again if Crocodileblood issued it. After all, Orangeblossom even said she wanted to go back. It could be a good idea. Crocodileblood sighed and went silent. That could become a problem...He didn't like the idea of monkeys so close to the camp. They were notorious for being a disturbance and he didn't want them scaring off any easy prey. Especially when they should be fattening up for the dry season. Still, they could be dangerous if left unchecked. "Not today, I think a storm is going to roll in tonight and I don't want to risk it. I'm sending out hunting patrols now in case we get rained in for a day or two." He said with a deep frown. It was likely judging by the thick clouds. "If you want to hunt or send someone to get more moss or feathers for bedding, be my guest. As long as everyone is in camp by the time the rains start. Other than that, we'll talk about it when the storm passes."

Mintsong slowly nodded her head. "I'm just glad you all are all right." She paused for a moment for speaking again. "Next time you gather herbs, I suggest taking a warrior with you or even a guard. The jungle is a unpredictable place. Something way worse could have went after you all!" "Of course, Mintsong, we will." Tortoisepaw murmured, dipping her head deeply in respect to the medicine cat. It really had been careless to go out alone yet, she knew that. They weren't even close to being warriors. At least it might have been acceptable. "Again, I'm sorry about the herbs." Tortoisepaw repeated before backing her way out of the den. She didn't want to cause more of a fuss than needed by taking up her time.

Twistedivy listened and dipped his head. Honestly, from something important to an apprentice's task? Part of him wanted to defy his brother and go out alone to see the monkeys. It was foolish, yet so easy to pull off. The White Fang would be watching, though. She would frown upon such rebellion. Besides, the mangled tom was beginning to understand something. With no children of his own yet, Twistedivy was quite technically the only heir Crocodileblood had. Not only that, but he also had reason to make attempts at the throne. But, he respected his brother and would do no such thing. Therefore, after standing there in thought for probably far too long, he murmured, "I'll see what nests need bedding."

((Okay so I think Vanillapaw, Porcupinepelt, and Cobwebfur are free. ))
Crocodileblood frowned at that but shrugged. He had suggested he assign someone else to do that but if he wanted to help out around camp he wasn't going to argue. "Alright, thank you, Twistedivy. Keep an eye on things while I'm out. If there's an emergency, send someone for me." he told his brother before leaving him to return to his patrol. He smiled sheepishly at Teaktuft before looking over his group. Duriantail, Aloeheart, and Tarantulapaw were all here so they were ready to go. "Alright, let's go hunt near the Temple Ruins." he told them as he made his way toward the camp entrance. He squeezed his massive shoulders out of the opening and scented the air. The rains were definitely coming soon. They would just have to catch what they could before everything went into hiding.
--
"Hm, hunting patrol it is..." Aloeheart murmured almost to herself. She glanced at Tarantula, thinking. This was her chance to show off how well she had been mentoring her apprentice. There was a guard and their leader right here. This was her chance to prove herself and for Tarantulapaw to prove himself too. His bristly attitude and disobedience were well known through out the clan and people were beginning to whisper. Honestly, she was surprised he hadn't dragged anyone into the arena for calling him out yet.
"Tarantulapaw, I'm giving you a hunting assessment. I want you to catch three pieces of prey. One of which, needs to be something...impressive." she paused and thought for a moment. "If you do...I will excuse you from cleaning duties for the next week." That should be enough of a reward for him.

The she-cat gave a small smirk at the older tom's words, rather enjoying his humor. It was nice to have someone older than her who wasn't so serious. It was comforting to know that you don't lose your joy as you grow older. "All right, it's settled then," the white tabby announced, her tail curling with delight. "Let's head out."
Orchidpool decided she would start her hunt as soon as they left the camp. Her senses became alert; ears pricked, eyes focused, muzzle raised to scent the air. Even though the she-cat was lithe and sneaky, her stark pelt often gave away her position when she hunted. It was quite frustrating to her; that's why she prefers to hunt at night. Due the large amounts of rain the jungle received, the undergrowth was quite dense and provided a decent place to mask herself. The she-cat glanced back at her apprentice, who looked quite content with what they had planned. The tom was a pretty good hunter and she was proud of him
A small rustling in the leaves caught the she-cat's attention, so she paused and went after it stealthily.

Cinnamonpaw bounded happily after the patrol, excited to finally be out of the camp and training as a group. He was a little disappointed about the hunt since he wouldn't be able to eat whatever he caught, but that didn't stop him. Being a competitive feline, he wanted to catch something before Cashewpaw, though he kept his plotting to himself. He didn't want to foiled. What he would do with his catch? Cinnamonpaw had that already figured out - he would either offer it to someone on the patrol or save it for the Clan later.
The ginger-brown feline watched as Orchidpool slid off to hunt. He wondered, would her apprentice follow after her. Feeling a little anxious, Cinnamonpaw cast a glance at Cloudchaser. "May I hunt?" he asked quietly, not wanting to appear rude if he just went right on.

"I just stumbled, that's all," the Siamese said sharply, straightening and moving along. Mallowsky did not enjoy making a fool of herself. She gave up on the whole "I don't care" stance and continued on, more focused and determined to not goof up again.
Soon her patrol came upon their destination. The small feline glanced at the sky, taking note of the position of the sun so she could keep track of time. "Split up here?" Mallowsky asked her group, wanting to know their opinion before they did anything.

... ↪ tekoa you could have marshfang join one of the hunting patrols that crocodileblood and teaktuft made or the moss gathering patrol that twistedivy might begrudgingly send out ★
... ↪ • Cloudchaser w/ Cinnamonpaw, Cashewpaw, Orchidpool -- Orchidpool and Cashewpaw had immediately started their hunt, obviously pretty hungry. Cloudchaser's ears perked when Cinnamonpaw asked to join in and he nodded. "Yes, yes," he started to say, but then the cacophony of noises became overwhelming the further into the jungle they got. "Humm, try to stay close though," the large white tom continued to warn.
Cloudchaser wanted to join in, but he was feeling self-conscious about his weight. Didn't mean he couldn't bury a catch or two and come back for them on their way home from the training session rather than eat it. "We'll meet at the clearing closest to the temple," he told his apprentice. Orchidpool and Cashewpaw were probably too far gone to hear. It wasn't as good or comfortable as a clearing further into the jungle, but the sounds were concerning and who knew when it would start raining.
--
• Duckthorn w/ Thymepurr -- His face scrunched up at that and he wrinkled his nose before letting his expression fall to normal again. "Uh, sure?" he scoffed, being difficult. Duckthorn snorted and inched closer to the stream so he could stare into it. Perhaps he did like the waters here under the jungle, preferably more than the coast where it was hot and gritty. By the river the soil was always soft to lay on—even during the dry season—and there was always shade.
Also, he didn't mind fishing or hunting on his own accord. He just hated being told to do so. Typically whenever he was able to slink away he always brought back a thing or two the clan could eat. Duckthorn still needed exercise or all his extra energy was lashed out onto others. Which would happen regardless. "It's a good spot, Thymepurr. You can keep coming back here." Once he said that a fish swam past and the instinctive, implusive tom dived in after it—making a splash.

Sure! The hunting patrols look pretty full already, Marsh could help gather moss haha. I'll post a starter for now ^.^)) Marshfang - campMarshfang regarded camp through spirited green eyes. The solid brown warrior hated being so stagnant, especially when a hunting patrol was already out catching prey for the clan. Her whiskers, hanging in messy corkscrews from her muzzle, twitched. Surely she could find something to do. Anything to be useful. Marshfang unsheathed her claws, their small curves cutting a fine score underfoot as she kneaded, lost in thought.
Her short, dark fur was cowlicked and sun-stained; unkempt in a last resort attempt to buffer against the heat. Sometimes puffing it out would somewhat help against the harsh Indonesian sun, but the humidity lightly stuck it to her stocky frame. Marshfang drew a paw over her ears, shooing a mosquito. The annoying bloodsuckers always targeted the scar tissue over her right ear. With a sigh, the mottled brown shecat lifted herself to her paws. I'll find some way to be useful.

Tarantulapaw wrinkled his nose. He was excited for this patrol. Leave it to Aloeheart to turn it into work. Though visibly irritated, the tom suprisingly said nothing and instead nodded. An assessment, huh? Well he'd show his mentor. His annoyance turned into determination. The fuzzy brown apprentice headed off into the wilderness rapidly.

{ t e a k t u f t } w/ patrol templeruins Teaktuft caught a glimpse of Crocodileblood's sheepish smile before giving a reassuring smile back. It seemed that he and Twistedivy had plans for something, though she had no idea because she was sending cats off to their assigned patrols in the meantime. She quickly padded behind Aloeheart, Duriantail, and Tarantulapaw, bringing up the rear of the patrol as they made their way to the camp's exit.
Once exiting the camp, the guard couldn't help but feel her whiskers twitch visibly at the scent of rain. Maybe a rain storm would break the humidity that clung to the clan. It would be nice to feel it on her pelt too. Her pale green eyes flickered from Aloeheart to Tarantulapaw, who was instructing her apprentice to start hunting as soon as possible. Hopefully neither of them felt pressured by having a guard and leader on the same patrol.
The brown-and-white tabby padded ahead after the apprentice bounded away to find prey. Hopefully the rain wouldn't risk their chances of a good hunt. coding by officialrainleafwcf

{ c a s h e w p a w } w/ orchidpool, cloudchaser, & cinnamonpaw Cashewpaw had kept up a steady pace with Orchidpool, Cloudchaser, and Cinnamonpaw for the most part until the reached part of the jungle where the mentors had suggested they do a small hunt then move on to sparring. He had hardly noticed Orchidpool diving into the undergrowth and following her own prey which left him to find his own. His gaze flickered back to Cinnamonpaw and Cloudchaser, who were behind and all he could really see were their blurry silhouettes. So much for having great eyesight.
With his maw raised to the air, it took the tom a few moments before he caught onto a familiar scent of mice. It didn't take him long to crouch down and make his way through the undergrowth, trying be as silent as possible. Should be somewhere around here, he thought, nose twitching but froze once he saw a small brown-furred rodent. Perfect!
The multi-colored apprentice kept his eyes on the still rodent which seemed to be distracted. He pressed his hind legs down carefully before springing upon the mouse which tried to escape but the sudden movement of Cashewpaw's maw biting into its neck silenced the mouse
"Not bad, Cashewpaw," he mused, holding the prey in his maw tightly. coding by officialrainleafwcf
