Chickenflight » In the middle of just sitting there, enjoying some peace of mind for once, Chickenflight had found himself entranced at the sight of a brown-winged moth. It fluttered its wings so softly in the humid air as if it couldn't care any less about what was happening in the world around it. It was as if the butterfly was, in itself, a small patch of serenity in the otherwise stressful world. Between Whitestar and the thing in the creek, RidgeClan was having a hard time. The last time any cat save for a few had seen the leader had been mere days after Woollycloud's warrior ceremony. That had been some moons ago. Every cat in the Clan was tense, or were on the verge of it. Yet here was this moth, so silent and so peaceful, in the middle of camp. The creature was blissfully unaware of the trouble brewing, yet Chickenflight didn't think of it as an ignorant animal. No, he thought of the moth as smarter than most even within this Clan. This creature knew not to worry, knew not to let the stress of life get to it. If only Chickenflight himself could be that way...
His thoughts were broken when a familiar voice caught his attention.
The black and white tomcat turned, his ears angled forward as his eyes landed on the form of Fadeheart. A welcoming smile graced the male's features. "Morning, Fadeheart!" He chirped. Out of the corner of his eye he watched the butterfly fly off, bound to ride the winds once more. Goodbye, little friend, the warrior thought before placing his attention back on his fellow warrior.
"Not that I know of, but knowing Tigerblaze he'll have some before the butterfly leaves camp," Chickenflight mewed, nodding toward the brown-winged creature as it fluttered up and up, having yet to officially leave the RidgeClan camp.
Whitestar » There was another rumble of hunger. It was an interesting feeling, an odd sensation. Food would be nice right about now, it really would. Perhaps a quail? Or maybe a turkey leg to gnaw on. Yes, that all sounded divine. Cardinal would suffice as well, even a small sparrow. Whitestar rather liked the taste of those winged beasts that chirped and hollered throughout the entire ridge. They were interested things, out there in that forbidden land beyond her den. Perhaps one day she would go out and find one or two or three. Perhaps she would just stretch out her legs and head outside...but no. Inside was comfortable. The nest was a nice place. The cat that stayed in her den with her would bring her a bird. She could trust the warrior to do as much.
And speaking of food and somebody entering.
Whitestar perked her ears up when a voice came to her. But did she know that voice? No, no, no, this wasn't from the cat that smelled eerily like herself. This wasn't her...her sister. Yes, her sister. Stormwatcher. This cat wasn't Stormwatcher.
The leader narrowed her eyes, stiffly getting all the way to her paws. A sharp step here and then a sharp step there brought her half way between her nest and the den's exit point. "I do not recall requesting an audience outside of Stormwatcher's presence," she called out firmly. While her movements were stiff and robotic, her voice was smooth as a stone, as gentle and free flowing as the creek's waters. "What brings you to my den, warrior?"

Trying her hardest not to sound similar to an apprentice on their first journey from camp, the young warrior forced her tone of voice into a calm one, despite the way her tail flicked from side to side in a show of nervousness. She reasoned that from within the depths of the den, her leader wouldn't be able to see how terrified she was. So if Oakblossom was simply able to make her voice sound unworried, she might just get out of this situation with some of her dignity in tact. Though it was becomming more and more worrisome with every word which left her leader's voice. Ducking her head politely, only to jerk it upright when she reminded herself the leader couldn't see her just yet. Oakblossom replied with a surprisingly level tone of voice.
"Its Oakblossom, Whitestar," she replied in a quiet tone of voice. "I thought you might be hungry so I brought you something to eat." She offered, ears twitching forward in a level of uncertainty but otherwise she managed to keep her legs from shaking which they seemed to be insistent on. "Though, if you want something other than vole, I'm sure I'll manage to find something you'd like better." She added quickly. Not wishing to add to the worries of her leader, who was already having enough trouble without the pretty warrior only adding further to them.

Ahh get ready for a garbage starter c': Windshear » { aspenpaw | ridgeclan camp | Sand }Windshear slipped inside the camp once more after a quick hunting trip he had gone on all by himself. He was carrying a few songbirds, and he dragged a rabbit by its ears behind him. He smelled of the pastures, which is where the large gray tabby had hunted. He placed his prey on the freshkill pile before flicking his tail. His green-yellow eyes look around slowly before landing on the apprentice den. He had yet to take Aspenpaw out on a hunt, but he also needed to give the feline a border patrol at some time. Maybe he could incorporate both in one small patrol. With a small nod to his own thoughts, the tabby carefully made his way over to the apprentice den, peering inside curiously. He wasn't even sure if the fawn tortoiseshell point was even in there.
Pausing, he frowned. Windshear didn't want to wake any of the other apprentices, considering that was on them if they got up, or their mentors. The gray tabby twitched his tail before speaking. "Aspenpaw? I wanted to get in some training today, so hurry up and come out. We can eat before we go too." The tabby mewed before stepping back and out of the den. He sat down, twitching his ears as Silentfrost and Firepaw exchanged words.
Windshear felt bad for the ginger tabby. His warrior ceremony was delayed by moons since Whitestar refused to hold anything revolving around the clan. He dipped his head respectfully to the two before turning his attention back to the apprentice den, waiting patiently for the feline to pad out and join him so the two could discuss their training for the day.

Whitestar » Hmm. Oakblossom.
That name meant nothing to her. Just another warrior trying to coax her out of her den or something of the sorts.
Food? That's where her mind jumped to before it could even finish processing thinking about Oakblossom and her appearance at her den's entrance. As if reminding the leader once more that she was hungry, her stomach heaved with yet another growl, this time louder and more angrier. She sure hoped this Oakblossom character brought her a bird of some sorts.
"Oh, Starshine," she was using the term as sick endearment, not as a warrior name, "a vole simply will not do. A sparrow would be nice, do not you think? Go along now," she mewed simply as if asking a young apprentice to continue their training. "We do not want to waste any more time on something as petty as a vole, now do we?"

Sorrelflank ; accompanied by Thunderblaze .. {{ @velveteenwolf }} {{ outside the warrior's den }}
Had Sorrelflank owned up to stepping on Thunderblaze's black tail which had awakened the tom, she wasn't willing to apologize. After all, it was his fault that he had put his tail there. Felines were moving in and out of the den like clockwork and if you weren't careful, someone's tail was bound to be stepped on. When the warrior emerged from the warrior's den not too long after she did, she realized she had an opportunity here. Since Thunderblaze was hanging around and in a sour mood, they might as well get a move on and find a patrol to join. Not that Sorrelflank was fond of being with grumpy felines, but he was her only option as of now.
The Abyssinian made her way over to the pitch black warrior, thin tail and head held high. "Morning, Thunderblaze," she greeted coolly. The green eyed feline rarely had good intentions for others as anything she did was in her favor, not theirs. "You were on the dusk patrol, right? I'm surprised to see that you're up so early. Did you sleep well?"

Never had Oakblossom been more thankful at the fact she hadn't caught a vole in recent days, her tail twitching from side to side as she listened to the request of her leader. Another warrior might have thought of the demands as obnoxious, but the sweet tempered young warrior thought nothing of it. Casting her gaze to the fresh kill pile, she thought her heart might well stop when she noticed that there were no birds immediately visible to her gaze. And panic laced through her veins, but she didn't care if she had to run out of camp and crush the nearest bird in sight. If it meant she could meet Whitestar's wishes, she would have done just about anything. "I'll try," she promised, wincing at how kit like her voice probably sounded, but she said nothing further as she bounded in the direction of the fresh kill pile.
Sifting through its offerings, it was relatively full but at first sight she could see nothing that fit the asks of the leader, and her panic only worsened but for now she persisted. Nosing through with determination, almost willing a sparrow or bird of some sort to appear in its contents. It took a while, but eventually she came across an especially plump woodpecker, though it wasn't a sparrow. She hoped it would suit her leader. Sniffing at it, despite having been found towards the bottom of the pile, it was still fresh and her heart soared with triumph at her findings. Lifting the animal from the ground, she turned back into the direction she'd come from, and bounded towards the leader's den once more.
"I managed to find a woodpecker, will this suit?" She asked again, a little more hopeful this time.
(I'm quite liking these two already XD)

A little better natured now he had blinked the sleep from his eyes and stretched the ache from his bones. "That I was," he said with a chuckling purr, continuing for a moment as he tried to make his pelt lie somewhat flat to his muscular frame. He finished pulling a burr from behind his hindquarters and straightened. Kneading his black paws into the ground underpaw for a moment, stretching out one final time as he replied with a sigh. "Cut painfully short, but otherwise I slept rather well," he replied with a grin lacing his expression. Tilting his head to one side, there was something about how Sorrelflank carried herself, but he chose not to question it for the sake of not causing arguments, which was something he frankly could not be bothered to deal with at a time as early as this. "Did you sleep well?" He asked in response, the question sounded genuine, not one made out of the need of formality.

Whitestar » Didn't Stormwatcher usually bring her food? Of course she did, she was the only warrior that was allowed to step inside her den, the only feline that knew not to disturb the peace that Whitestar had managed to build within her home. She could only wonder where her dear sister had went but dismissed the thought soon after. Perhaps she was out there rolling and falling beyond the den, gallivanting along with some other warriors as they tumbled and tripped. Stormwatcher was an odd one, wasn't she? Very odd, very odd.
Odd. Wasn't there another cat close to Whitestar that was odd? Odd...odd... Unusual was another word for 'odd'. Abnormal. Atypical. Those were all very nice words, extremely nice words. Exquisite words.
Woollycloud. What a strange yet familiar name. Whitestar rather liked the way it rolled in her mind. Woollycloud. Woollycloud. That was more than just a name now, yes, it was a name that belonged to a particular cat that also smelled similar to Whitestar herself. Her daughter. Yes, Whitestar had a daughter. She remembered the little white ball of fluff she had given birth to seasons ago, the way the little kitten had come into the world during a dreadful storm. The creek's water had rose and rose, yet somehow the camp remained safe. Everything was safe, even her kit. She cherished Woollycloud, but only Stormwatcher could be in her den. Only Stormwatcher. Woollycloud could stay outside of her den, could continue to trip and slip out there, but Stormwatcher was allowed to find stability in the leader's den.
These thoughts were broken to little pieces when that voice - Oakblossom - came to her once more. Whitestar shifted on her paws, tail-tip twitching. Woodpecker. Woodpecker. Woodpecker. That also brought memories rushing back to the molly, an image of herself bounding through the pastures with a black and white tomcat, asking him to sire a litter of kits for her. He had complied and now there was Woollycloud. Woollycloud and Woodpeckercall. A woodpecker was a bird, and a bird was what the white leader wanted.
After a moment of silence the leader spoke. "Excellent. Toss me the bird and your little game with the vole earlier will be forgiven." Yes, Whitestar would push aside the memory of the vole should the woodpecker be given to her. She would have food, a meal, and that would finally stop her stomach from creating such horrendous sounds.

Grateful when her leader agreed that this piece of prey would satisfy her wishes and wants, the warrior dropped the bird to the ground, and carefully pushed it into the den with an elegant paw. Ensuring it was pushed far enough into the den that the snowy shecat didn't need to go to too much effort in order to get to the piece of prey. She dipped her head, thankful that no grudges would be held over her offer of a petty vole. Heart still racing from the 'confrontation', but she was calming down enough that she felt a little less terrified of being within eight foxlengths of the leader den. Waiting to ensure that her leader could get to her prey easily enough, then she would leave Whitestar in peace.
"Is there anything else I can get you?" She asked kindly, her voice genuine in spite of the concern which made her tail flick.

Whitestar » This was good. Now that she had a meal everything was well once more. There was no need to worry or think about anything else other than the woodpecker that had been pushed into her den. The white feline walked over and picked the large bird up in her jaws before stepping stiffly back, sitting down and leaning forward to begin plucking the feathers off her meal.
She was just about to dig in when Oakblossom's voice entered her den yet again. Her sea foam green eyes narrowed. "Are you just going to stand outside my den all day?" The leader questioned, voice sharp. "You would make yourself useful if you leave, unless it is your intent to watch my den as if I need protecting. I am not a wounded eaglet, and should I need anything at all, Stormwatcher will tend to me," she replied swiftly and smoothly if not a bit tartly. Whitestar did not need Oakblossom's help. The prey was a generous offer, but anything beyond that and Whitestar could do without for now.
Then a question came to her which she allowed to slip freely off her tongue. "Are you perhaps standing around waiting for something? What is it that you want, Oakblossom, just remember, I am not here to play silly games."

Aspenpaw ; accompanied by Windshear .. {{ -` percy ´- .✫ 🌊 }} {{ apprentice's den, ridgeclan camp }}
Thankfully for Windshear, Aspenpaw was a light sleeper. He usually didn't fall into a deep slumber unless he was exhausted. At the sound of several voices overlapping each other, the feline's dark blue eyes opened instantly to see his mentor stepping in and back out of the den. It must be time to train, they thought, dark ears twitching as they rose out of their well kept moss nest. "Coming, Windshear!" they called out promptly.
As they made their way to the apprentice's den exit, they kept an eye on their paws in case there were any tails or paws sticking out of the many nests that were lined throughout. Once the fawn tortoiseshell point reached the exit, they scooted out and found themselves standing before their mentor. "Morning! I couldn't exactly hear you over Firepaw and Silentfrost," the apprentice explained, glancing at the other apprentice and mentor with a look of concern flickering in their blue eyes. "Do you think Firepaw will be okay? He should be a warrior by now..."
Firepaw's situation was detrimental and it was clear that some felines in RidgeClan were pained by it, but if it affected anyone the most, it was Firepaw and his mentor, Silentfrost. The two had worked hard for moons now and Aspenpaw could only imagine what it was like waiting with young apprentices when the ginger tom was supposed to reside in the warrior's den, not some cramped space meant for trainees.
"Anyways... What did you have planned for me today?" they meowed, gaze flickering back to the grey tabby sitting in front of him. "Whatever it is, Windshear, I can handle it!"

Flicking her ears at the sound of her leader's words, the warrior shrugged her shoulders uncaringly. Settling down in the sunny spot, if there was no one about to look after the snowy shecat, Oakblossom assumed that she might as well have done. Casting her gaze around camp, and failing to spot the familiar pelt of the leader's sister, the dark furred warrior replied with a soft tone of voice. "It wouldn't appear Stormchaser is about, and I think the stars were able to hear your stomach growling with hunger," she bit back the chuckle which nearly parted her lips, knowing rather well that if she laughed aloud that would likely only get her into further trouble. Ignoring the biting comment about the leader being similar to a helpless eaglet, trying to push away the thought that the two were at current rather similar. Wrapping her long tail around her slender frame, and laying it neatly across her dark furred paws. "I'd quite like for my leader to not starve to death, or at least allow camp some sleep without your belly growling," she added with a slight grin. Thankful that she wasn't out of the den to spot such a facial expression.

Sorrelflank ; accompanied by Thunderblaze .. {{ @velveteenwolf }} {{ outside the warrior's den }}
Thunderblaze was the complete opposite of Sorrelflank as far she could tell. He wasn't as grumpy as she believed he was which put a damper on her spirit, but she would find a way to deal with this... upbeat tom. Maybe his kindness could work for her too, though she wasn't all that sure. As her almond shaped eyes scoured the pitch black warrior, both of her ears twitched intentively while he spoke. He didn't seem too upset about her, rather someone, stepping on his tail early in the morning so she didn't have to question him about that for now. There was the possibiliy of him grumbling about it later anyways. "Good to hear, Thunderblaze," she responded, green eyes glimmering with cordiality.
Once he had asked how she slept, it took the Abyssinian several moments to respond. "I slept very well despite it being longer than usual," Sorrelflank mewed, her tongue lapping at her paws briefly. She despised sleeping in as she saw it to be lazy and useless. Why not use the energy one had and put it to good use? "Has Tigerblaze announced any patrols yet? I was looking to get out of camp for a bit, but I haven't seen him around."

Whitestar » Whitestar took a moment to eat her meal. The meat was tender, a young bird it must have been for the meat to be as tender as it was. Perhaps it had only been a hatchling this new-leaf, its life cut short by the sharp claws of a skilled hunter. But a cat must hunt to survive, there was no time for such pitying thoughts over a woodpecker.
Licking her maw clean of any stray feathers or blood, the battle-scarred feline glanced upward toward her den's exit once more. She flicked her tail back and forth like a snake. "You think me likely to starve to death? Are you perhaps trying to say something, Oakblossom?" If the leader weren't so reluctant to leave her nest she would have right then, would have stiffly marched out there to eye her warrior, to look at the other molly and wonder exactly what she was getting at. Despite the warrior being playful, Whitestar saw this as something else. Something that she wanted to stop before it got out of control.

FadeheartCamp -- Interacting with Chickenflight.Chickenflight's attention seemed to be caught by the butterfly and Fadeheart chuckled at his comment. It was unlike Tigerblaze to be late assigning patrols and the warrior agreed wholly with his denmate. There would be no way their deputy would start acting any different. He was doing his best to hold the Clan together in this difficult time. Fadeheart watched the butterfly move through the air lazily, sometimes swooping in a circle closer to the pair, only to swoop away quickly once again.
"Mind some company when you take the apprentices out today?" Fadeheart mewed, his attention returning to the conversation at paw. "I've been trying to teach Pebblepaw a couple of the more advanced moves and I just..." He trailed off and shook his head, gaze a mask of confusion, "Somehow my explanations and demonstrations are all wrong. Maybe some cats his own size would be easier to follow."

Chickenflight » A rather large smile came across the tomcat's face as he continued to watch the butterfly float around the camp. To imagine that something as simple as a caterpillar could turn into something so magnificent. Not that caterpillars were any less extraordinary, but knowing that a ground creature could turn into a creature of the air amazed Chickenflight to no end. Nature was truly amazing, wasn't it?
He was pulled away from his wandering thoughts when Fadeheart's voice grabbed his attention once more. That crooked smile of his remained on his face even as he spoke. A purr began to rumble in his chest as he thought about a dual-training session between his apprentice - well, apprentices - and Fadeheart's own. It sounded like a rather logic idea, something that would for sure prove to be beneficial. The two toms could even learn something useful by watching one another as well.
Chickenflight nodded as he agreed to the well-thought idea. "I think that would prove to be an excellent chance for Pebblepaw to learn those moves. Applepaw and Cherrypaw are bound to learn from this as well," he purred, the noise rumbling from deep within his throat. Of course, before he would act on this he would wait a little longer just in case the deputy needed either, or both, of the toms on patrols, but even if they were assigned to a patrol he would love to reschedule this training session for another time.

silentfrost
Silentfrost gave a quick squeak of surprise as a returning patrol warrior stepped on her fluffy tail. "Sorry," a deep rumble came as she quickly tucked her tail against her body, protecting the soft material. Her green eyes were open wide as being startled awake was not the preferred choice of awaking up. She flicked her ears as her body started to follow in an awaking pattern -- first her eyes, then her ears, then her nose, all twitching as the sleep fell away.
It was only moments later that she was leaving the warrior den, the small cloud-like molly making her way through the clearing of the camp. Her soft green eyes moved around the clearing, before landing upon a familiar ginger tabby tom. He looked down, as he always did. He should have been a warrior by now, even with his apprenticeship accident. His ear was the casualty of a fox fight, but he had learned to thrive with being deaf in one ear, as his sense heightened. She had the pleasure of watching him grow up into a powerful tomcat, immature at times as any young feline was but still, she softly purred thinking about it.
However, Whitestar had disappeared into herself, leaving her sister, Stormwatcher and Tigerblaze in charge of the clan. They were more supportive than their own clan leader, but the leader was the only one who could grace an apprentice with a warrior name, as it was a ceremony blessed by Starclan. As much as all of the clan respected Tigerblaze as a deputy and Stormwatcher as a leader's sister -- they had no power in the eyes of Starclan; therefore, no apprentice would be joining the ranks of the Ridgeclan warriors until Whitestar found herself again.
Silentfrost let out a disappointed sigh, scrambling herself out of her own dark thoughts. She was not a negative she-cat, but there was no doubt that this situation was quite negative. Her feather-like paws brought her up to Firepaw; a soft purr escaped her maw, "good morning, Firepaw."

FadeheartCamp -- Interacting with Chickenflight. The fluttering creature continued on its way, still moving gracefully in the air. Chickenflight seemed almost entranced and there was a sort of sweet amusement to the scene. When the tom turned to him, a dreamy smile still gracing his expression, Fadeheart couldn't help himself but to return the gesture. The gentleness of the warrior beside him was something he never really heard anyone else mention, but was sure they all appreciated it the same. He dipped his head gratefully once Chickenflight spoke.
"I sure hope so," he mewed with another chuckle, "Maybe you could teach me a thing or two as well!" StarClan knew he could use a couple of pointers. He was almost certain his explanation was much too convoluted for poor Pebblepaw to understand. Fadeheart shook his head to himself at the thought; sometimes interacting with others was something he just didn't seem to get.
"Have you seen Whitestar at all lately?" He brought the subject up as casually as he could manage. It was something cats seemed to only whisper about under their breath these days.

Chickenflight » Upon hearing that Fadeheart thought of this as something of a training session for him as well, Chickenflight felt a chuckle slip from his muzzle. It took a brave warrior to admit that he still needed training even outside of his apprentice days, took courage to admit to not being perfect in every aspect of the warrior world. For that Chickenflight found a newly ignited respected for the pointed warrior he was conversing with. The black and white tomcat himself was sub par in many aspects of the warrior life. Fighting he could do, hunting he could do, though hunting always came a bit hard for him. It pained him to kill other animals, but he knew his Clanmates needed to eat. The natural order of things was predator kill prey. As long as he thanked StarClan for the animal's life and told himself it was to keep his Clanmates strong and healthy, he could take down a mouse or two here and there. What the bi-colored tom truly excelled in was speed and climbing. He was swift on his paws and nimble in the canopies above. It was how he earned the name of 'flight', his speed and climbing skills making him seem as if he were flying through the woodland. For being named after a flightless bird, the tomcat truly could spread his wings and fly.
The purr rumbling in his chest only grew deeper as he responded, "We'll both teach each other some new tricks. It'll be a training lesson all around." And that was exciting to Chickenflight. He had always enjoyed soaking in new knowledge, even as a kit. He was like a sponge, receptive to anything new that he could learn and then taking it all in with rapt attention and dedication.
At the mentioning of the absent leader, Chickenflight's smile faded into a more serious expression. The tip of his tail twitched. He wasn't uncomfortable with the topic, no, but concern for the white molly now found itself in his heart and wedged inside his chest. He took in a deep breath as he shook his head. "I have not. Every now and then I can hear her voice as she speaks with Stormwatcher, but that's the most information I have. I...I do hope she's well." His voice had grown soft, worried. Whitestar was an amazing warrior, and she had been a mighty leader, powerful and sharp-witted. She had come to power after the death of Chickenflight's own mother, the late Nightstar, and the black and white tom fully respected Whitestar. Even now he wanted to see no ill-will befall the white molly, no, he just wanted her to be comfortable and to return to her Clan in her own time.

FadeheartThere was a tiny flash of regret as Chickenflight's reaction changed, his expression becoming more solemn. Fadeheart was certain that every cat in the Clan wished for Whitestar's health, that they hoped she would return to her duties sooner rather than later. His ear twitched; just moons ago, Whitestar was leading them a dignity and passion unrivaled. She was a spot of light in the dark wake of Nightstar's death. Whitestar held the Clan together and led them to a heightened glory, something Fadeheart admired her endlessly for, but... now she was nothing but a mere shell of her former self. In the past where she would have controlled situations and carried out everything on her own... Tigerblaze and Stormwatcher were being forced to step up and take over those tasks.
The tom's pale gaze flicked around the clearing, taking in the meager few warriors milling about. Without her leadership, some days were spent walking around aimlessly, especially when Tigerblaze had to take his attention elsewhere. He flicked his tail and turned back to his companion, finally giving a nod in response. "I truly hope that she's well too," he mewed, then dipped his head towards their leader's den. "I pray that StarClan give her what she needs to return fully to her position. Every cat here is surely missing her guidance by now."

Ahh, sorry it took so long to get these out. I had stuff to do yesterday. Firepaw » { Silentfrost | Ridgeclan Camp | appzy }Firepaw didn't care to listen in on Windshear and Aspenpaw chatting- he heard his name a few times and just twitched his ear in response, figuring they were just sympathetic since he hadn't been made a warrior just yet. With a sigh, the ginger tabby glanced up at his mentor when she eventually approached, his green eyes lighting up just a little. He always relied on the she-cat to never really be a downer, and to always lighten the mood. That's why, if he were honest, he was very proud to be her apprentice. He dipped his head out of respect for the white molly, his green eyes catching Silentfrost's with a curious look. "Good morning, Silentfrost. Are we hunting today? Battle practice? Border patrol?" He asked curiously.
Firepaw used to always be so... confound and quite- keeping to himself. But since he had grown from his early apprentice days, the ginger and white tabby just seemed to have brighten up. Well, despite the fox attack- after that, the tom had closed himself off and refused to talk to anyone but his family. Not even to his mentor. The ginger tom twitched his whiskers and curled his tail over his paws. He remembered how much he used to doubt himself- though he still kind of did- and now, he believed he could do anything he really wanted to, or set his mind to. Unless it was something huge, such as leading a clan.
Speaking of leader- Firepaw glanced at the leaders den, noticing Oakblossom was exchanging conversation with Whitestar. The ginger apprentice flattened his ear against his cranium before looking at his mentor, expression going from happy to angered as he got up and lashed his tail. "I shouldn't be treated like this because Whitestar only cares about herself. This isn't fair." He hissed, glaring at the leaders den again. "It's so selfish. She's blinded in one eye and apparently she can't lead her own clan anymore. Silentfrost, I don't want to be an apprentice forever. I've already had my assessment, and passed, but Whitestar refuses to stop being selfish and hold my ceremony." He lashed his tail and shook his head. Firepaw's expression suddenly changed to hurt and sadness. "Does she think I'm not good enough? Does Starclan believe I can't be a warrior?" He breathed, almost hopelessly, looking at Silentfrost for comfort and possibly for her to explain that he was a worthy warrior. Windshear » { Aspenpaw | Ridgeclan Camp | Sand }Windshear glanced at the warrior and the apprentice beside him before carefully guiding Aspenpaw away, not wanting to intrude on the two as it seemed the ginger tabby tom was growing worked up and upset. Windshear cared- of course he did. He just didn't want to interfere. He looked at his apprentice and purred, resting his muzzle on the felines head out of affection. "I believe he'll be fine. Whitestar just needs to get back on her paws, is all." He mewed before letting his attention shift to the fresh kill pile. He picked out a mouse and looked at the non-binary tortoiseshell in front of him.
Now, he had to figure out a plan for them to keep them busy today. "I was thinking we could hunt until sunhigh, and possibly do a border patrol. Or was could do battle practice. You can pick after hunting." Windshear mewed softly, sitting down to quickly gobble up his quick meal. He buried the bones and what he didn't eat on the mouse before getting back to his paws.
"We'll leave once you've eaten, Aspenpaw. Hopefully we'll get a lot done today." He purred. He enjoyed when the feline was excited to go out, it just proved that Windshear was doing something right. He looked around camp for a moment, hoping Tigerblaze wouldn't need him for any patrols before he took Aspenpaw out. His green gaze just seemed to hold alertness and curiosity as all the commotion in camp seemed to only grow larger. He hoped they would be able to slip out before every cat was awake and prowling around the camp.

Chickenflight » For a moment Chickenflight remained silent. He didn't want to mess up any of his words now that he and Fadeheart were speaking on a rather sore topic for a lot of their Clanmates. He was glad, though, to know that Fadeheart was of the same opinion - that he wanted Whitestar to be well and that hopefully she would return to her old self. The Clan needed their leader. Tigerblaze and Stormwatcher could only do so much under the guidance of StarClan.
"I wonder if StarClan has been trying to heal her mind," Chickenflight murmured after a moment. "They can heal the wounds a leader receives after being killed, and I wonder if they can heal a leader's mind. If so it must be a slower process than any other wound..." His tail twitched in thought as he ruminated on the idea that had just spilled from his maw. There was only so much that he could think of when it came to Whitestar becoming better, and he wanted to so desperately hold on to the hope that she would get better.

Also, call my Ross c': Tooth kinda sounds weird unless it's the whole "Toothless" or "T" name yknow?
