Lichenstone padded out of the warriors' den and just outside the entrance to stretch and yawn, waking a little late by accident. He gazed around the camp looking for Lionpaw and tilted his head in confusion when he couldn't see the apprentice. Ducked in the apprentice's den to check and found both his and Tigerpaw's nests empty. Straightening up his next thought was to look for the deputy if the two had been sent on patrol.
Cranefeather padded into camp early at dawn carrying a bunch of leaves and herbs in her mouth. She made a bee line for her den without looking around and not expecting any of her Clanmates to be awake yet. She ducked inside skittishly and set the herbs down. As she sat at the back of the den she sorted out all the herbs into their correct piles carefully. She glanced towards Flutterpaw's nest, not bothering to wake the apprentice yet.

{Burnheart is open} Burnheart woke up, his pelt covered in Moss, he shook his pelt the tiny bundle of loose moss fell on top of one of his den-mates, he held his laughter as he left the warrior den.

Tigerpaw -- BrambleClan - - - At his brother's words, the tabby tom's eyes sparkled with mischief. It wasn't often apprentices were sent out alone and it was even more unheard of for them to sneak away before their mentors were awake. "I bet I'm going to catch more than you," he mewed, following after Lionpaw as they snuck out of camp. Once in the free air, Tigerpaw unsheathed his claws and dug them into the earth. A heartbeat later, the apprentice was off. He raced away from his sandy brother, tail streaming behind him, and laughter bubbling in his chest.
Darkclaw -- MoonClan - - - Sunny eyes flashed with a momentary concern and the tom gently touched his tail tip to her shoulder. Maybe the dream was a tad more distressing than the cool facade she was so expertly wearing. Darkclaw brightened at the mention of a patrol and nodded his head eagerly. "A patrol sounds wonderful," he mewed, "An excellent way to start the day."
Flutterpaw -- AshClan - - - Despite her mentor's best intentions to stay silent, after several moments, the apprentice blinked open her eyes and glanced around blearily. The sound of shuffling leaves could be heard in the backmost corner, Cranefeather was sorting herbs as she did most mornings. Rising in her nest, Flutterpaw yawned and stretched before padding over slowly. "Are there any herbs to be taken out?" She spoke softly, something she learned early on her mentor preferred.
Mousestar -- WillowClan - - - With the rest of the Clan still sleeping in their nests, Mousestar was free to lay leisurely atop the High Branch. She stared down at the camp, watching idly for her Clan members to awaken and start their days. Her pale blue eyes still had sleep clinging to their edges and her tail swayed slowly in the air below her. The leader yawned and set her chin on one paw.

Autumnfur noticed Lichenstone padding around camp, as though he were looking for something, and she had a feeling she know what was wrong. Trotting up to him, the calico she cat frowned. “They are gone again, aren’t they?” She asked, suspecting she already knew the answer. Poor Lichenstone’s apprentice tended to get into trouble and his brother, her own apprentice, simply followed in his footsteps.
“Not a chance!” Lionpaw retorted, vowing to himself to catch more fish than his brother. Once they were out of camp, Tigerpaw shot off, leaving Lionpaw in the dust. “Hey wait up, mousebrain!” He yelled, laughing as he bounded after him. Once he caught up, he tackled his brother and sent them both rolling.
When Darkclaw agreed to the patrol, Silverstar smiled. “Perfect. Perhaps we should find at least one more cat...” she suggested, turning her head as she scanned the camp for warriors. “Is anyone else up yet?” She asked curiously, looking towards the warrior den.
Juniperfang was just about to sneak out of camp when she saw that Mousestar was awake, and was probably going to spot her at any moment...and she probably wouldn’t be enthusiastic about one of her warriors sneaking out alone. Looking from the leader to the camp exit and to Mousestar once more, she sighed and tuned towards the other she cat. “Goodmorning, Mousestar,” She said somewhat politely but her tone also betraying her annoyance with her morning plans being interrupted.

Shadowstar padded quietly towards the nursery, listening for any possible sounds of distress. His large paws tossed small clouds of dust into the air, but he hardly noticed as he walked, his thoughts on the queen in the nursery, and her only. He reached the entrance and, almost hesitantly, nudged his way through, meowing to make his presence known.
Lynxpaw sat quietly just outside the MoonClan camp, her tail wrapped around her paws and her eyes closed. To any cat looking on, she appeared to be resting, as if she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings. She was, of course. She wasn't foolish enough to sit in the open without paying attention to what was happening around her. Should any cat try to surprise her, she would hear them, and be able to protect herself.

BrambleClan -- Tigerpaw - - - The tabby tom raced ahead as fast as his paws could carry him, but it wasn't fast enough. Within moments, Lionpaw was bowling him over and the tom huffed as the air was knocked out of him. Tigerpaw batted at his brother with sheathed paws, hissing and giggling playfully. As the tussled, they rolled closer and closer to the nearby pool of water, but Tigerpaw was too busy to pay much attention.
MoonClan -- Darkclaw - - - "Erm..." Darkclaw mused at her question, following her gaze towards the warriors den. Usually no cat was awake this early unless they had been put on the dawn patrol. The black-furred tom's tail tip flicked lightly and he merely gave the leader a sheepish shrug in response. "We might need to wait a little while," he chuckled, "If they don't have to be up so early, they usually don't get up!"
WillowClan - - - The golden tabby lifted her head when the sound of her name came from below. There was something to the tone of voice that rubbed her fur the wrong way. Pale blue gaze narrowing, Mousestar glanced down to see Juniperfang looking up at her. "Good morning, Juniperfang," she mewed softly, tilting her head a bit to one side, "What has you awake this early?"

Cinderblossom slowly raised her head as she heard the large Tom enter the nursery and she smiled up at him, blinking her large eyes at her handsome mate. “Why goodmorning!” She purred, slowly rising to her feet so she could face him. “Did you sleep well?” The pretty she cat asked, standing to meet him as he walked in.
Lionpaw playfully bit his brother on the leg, careful not to hurt him and growled, but was quickly rolled over as his equally matched brother bowled him over. The two toms were locked in a ball of playful fighting when all the sudden, they no longer felt the solid ground beneath them. “W-whaaaaa!” Lionpaw yowled as he felt himself falling, and all of the sudden, he was enveloped in a rush of freezing water. His eyes widened as he struggled to paddle to the surface, gasping for air once he had reached the top of the water. “T-tigerpaw?! Where a-are you?” He gasped, treading water.
Silver star let out a thoughtful harrumph and turned her gaze to the camp entrance. Narrowing her eyes, she thought she spotted the vague silhouette of a cat. “Hold on, I think someone else may be up.” She mewed, rising to her feet and trotting over to the entrance. “Lynxpaw! How delightful that you are awake. Your mentor and I were just about to go on a morning patrol. Would you like to join us?” She asked calmly, smiling at the apprentice who at first had appeared to be asleep.
Juniperfang sat down below the leaders branch with a rough plop, and sighed, tracing marks in the dirt with her claws as she replied. “Oh nothing much. I was hoping to go out for a morning hunt...” she mewed, trailing off to see how the leader would respond. Perhaps if she was lucky, the golden tabby would agree to let her go by herself.

Shadowstar chest rumbled as he purred and nosed his mate's cheek, his bright green eyes shining in small light of the nursery. "I slept well," he responded in a deep meow, "did you? And our sweet bundles," he added in amusement, leaning down to press his nose to her swollen stomach. He sat back on his haunches happily.
Lynxpaw turned her head at the sound of a voice, and smiled. "Good morning Silverstar, Darkclaw! I'd love to join you," she responded as she stood, her brilliant blue eyes gleaming with happiness. Her tail tip twitched as she waited to begin moving, and her ears flicked back and forth.

BrambleClan -- Tigerpaw - - - Sure enough, the pair tumbled into the water and Lionpaw was ripped away from Tigerpaw's grasp in a split second. The young tom struggled against the current, trying to find his way back to the surface. It took a few moments, but soon, the dark tabby appeared down stream from his brother. Coughing and sputtering, Tigerpaw dragged himself from the water, the once brisk air now chilled him to the bone. "Lionpaw!" He called out hoarsely, glancing around frantically. When he caught sight of his brother, he raced back to the water's edge. "Can you get to the edge?"
MoonClan -- Darkclaw - - - Pushing himself to his paws, the warrior trotted after Silverstar, his expression brightening as he realized it was his apprentice. "How wonderful of you to be awake," Darkclaw mewed, his chest puffing up slightly with pride, "Good morning." He nodded to Silverstar and Lynxpaw, his tail flicking up happily. "Seems like this all worked out for the best then." It could've been any apprentice awake, but luckily it had been his own.
WillowClan -- Mousestar - - - "Oh?" The leader mewed, intrigued by the way her warrior was reacting. "You're more than welcome to go hunting," Mousestar mewed carefully, her tail tip twitching slightly, "But you will come back if you find trouble, of course?" It was phrased as more of a statement than a question. The WillowClan leader preferred her cats to go our in pairs, but didn't forbid the occasional lone hunt. Perhaps she would follow Juniperfang... Perhaps she should take time out of her days to check on all of her warriors' hunting skills.

Cinderblossom nodded, “I slept very well,” she purred, “although I wish you could join me. It’s quite lonely in here,” she teased, licking his ear as he nudged her belly. “The sweet bundles seem to be quite awake,” she told her mate with a laugh. She could still feel them wriggling inside her. “I have a feeling they will be coming any day now.” She added happily.
(Ok so for the sake of the plot, we need to have cats start finding their clanmates dead in order to stir up some tension. Since moon land seems to be the first to be sending out a patrol, I’m going to have them find one of their members dead near the brambleclan border, and they can maybe run into Lichtenstome, autumnfur, and their apprentices and accuse them of killing one of the moonclan cats (but it’s really the cougar #letthedramabegin))
Silverstar smiler and turned to call Darkclaw over. “It seems your apprentice is an early riser too, Darkclaw. I’ve decided she shall join us,” she mewed, before turning to Lynxpaw. The leader had never gotten to spend much time with the apprentice so she looked forward to getting to know her better. “Come, let’s get going. I wish to patrol the southern border.”

( Okay c: )
Darkclaw flicked his tail and nodded to the leader, smiling over at his apprentice. "Thank you for joining us, Lynxpaw." The dark tom headed off towards the camp's entrance, beginning to lead the way out. He cast a glance over his shoulder to make sure they were both following him. Darkclaw padded at a swift pace, "Are we patrolling the whole border?"

Lionpaw finally spotted his brother downstream, "I think so!" He yelled over the roaring of the river, and he began paddling furiously until he felt his feet graze the rocks of the bottom of the river, signalling that he was almost to shore. The soaking tom pushed against the bottom of the river and launched himself to shore, and shook his pelt. Shivering, he let out a half laugh, "Well. That was...fun," He said, before coughing up a bit of water.
Silverstar followed the lead of the dark tom, enjoying being a follower for a bit. She often allowed her warriors to lead things like this, even when she was in their midst, as she was always considering the future of the clan. One never knew when trouble could arise and the clan would need as many leaders as possible. And she wanted them to be ready. Shaking her head, she answered Darkclaw, "No. We will stick to the southern border for now. Once we reach the shore of the lake, we can head back to camp and let the afternoon patrol cover the northern border."
A small smile appeared on Juniperfang's face and the orange she-cat nodded respectfully to the leader, suddenly in a much better mood. "Thank you, Mousestar. And of course I will." She mewed, before springing to her feet and briskly leaving camp, heading towards the Willow Tree Groves.

Silentstar crawled out of the mess of brambles he used as his den and stretched his muscular limbs, taking a deep breath before surveying his clan. Seeing Autumnfur and Lichtenstone talking to one another, the leader strode over two the two warriors and nodded in greeting. Noticing their concerned faces, he narrowed his eyes. "Is everything alright?" The dark tabby tom asked, the tip of his tail flicking back in forth as he waited their answer.
Adderstrike began pacing AshClan's camp, searching for warriors he could send on patrols. Spotting Burningheart, he approached the tom and gave him a firm nod before speaking. "Burningheart, I'm adding you to the afternoon patrol with Thunderfoot and I. We shall leave after sunhigh," He told the brown tom.

"None of the herbs we have are rotten yet." Cranefeather replied, a little startled at Flutterpaw being awake but didn't turn to look at the apprentice as she continued sorting herbs. "I found some burdock leaves growing out of a pond so they'll need to dry out later, but the air smells like it might rain today, it'll have to wait."

"For the second time in a quarter moon. I bet they went fishing." Lichenstone almost purred a bit at the thought, since sneaking away to fish was what he always did as an apprentice. "I'll double check that they're not in camp then I'll go out to find them around the best fishing spots." He raised his nose to catch the scents of the two apprentices around camp but none were fresh enough to indicate they were still there. He lowered his head and nodded respectfully to Silentstar as the leader approached. "Tigerpaw and Lionpaw don't seem to be in camp."

Autumnfur nodded and watched as Lichenstone sniffed for the apprentices, but found nothing. When Silentstar approached, she grew slightly nervous. Though she was only minorly annoyed that the two apprentices had snuck off again, she knew Silentstar wouldn't take the matter lightly. Turning to face the dark tom, she added, "We were just going to look for them. We think they went fishing." She explained. The two brothers seemed to enjoy the activity, but she didn't like that they always went alone. Though fun, fishing was a risky way to hunt, especially for two cats so young

BrambleClan -- Tigerpaw - - - As his brother swam towards the shore, Tigerpaw flinched, his muscles tensed and ready to spring into action. If Lionpaw slipped or couldn't quite make it on his own, the tabby was ready to throw himself forward and grab his scruff. Luckily, the sandy cat made it to shore with wet plop. "Thank StarClan!" Tigerpaw exclaimed. When his brother started chuckling, the apprentice couldn't keep the smile off his face. "Mouse-brain," he muttered softly, "We could've drowned!"
MoonClan -- Darkclaw - - - At the head of the patrol, the black tom felt a sense of pride wash over himself once again. It seemed like a fairly wonderful day. Darkclaw nodded in response to Silverstar's words and continued off in the direction of the Southern border. He kept his eyes and ears alert, scenting the air every so often. As they got nearer to the border, the tom's brow furrowed slightly. "Do you smell that?"
WillowClan -- Mousestar - - - The golden tabby dipped her head to Juniperfang with a soft smile on her face. She watched her warrior hurriedly head out of the camp's entrance with no other words. Still debating, Mousestar remained on her branch for a moment until she finally decided she would follow her warriors. The leader hopped down from her perch and followed the she-cat's scent trail, her paw steps soft and quiet as she could make them.

AshClan -- Flutterpaw - - - "You can smell the rain?" The apprentice mewed incredulously. Lifting her nose to the air, Flutterpaw sniffed at it, trying to see if she had the power as well. Her face crinkled in confusion and her tail tip flicked back and forth, sniffing harder. "How can you smell it?" The expression on her face was rather goofy, but completely lost on her mentor who always seemed to be more interested in the herbs.

Lionpaw felt his ears get hot as he looked at his brother sheepishly, "...Sorry. I take full responsibility and claim my title as a mousebrain," He replied with a laugh, shaking out his pelt once more. "Ugh, I hate being wet. Do you want to still go fishing or would you rather head back?" the apprentice asked, wiggling his nose as he felt water drip down the tip. But as he wiggled his nose, he picked up a strange scent. "Tigerpaw, do you smell that? Something smells gross..."
Silverstar stopped walking when Darkclaw pointed out the smell that lingered in the air. Opening her mouth slightly as she sniffed the air, the leader felt her heart stop as she realized what the smell was. "Blood..." She said, her eyes wide. Not stopping to think, she bolted off in the direction of the Brambleclan-Moonclan border. The hair on Silverstar's pelt rose as she skidded to a stop. About ten feet before her was the mangled body of a cat, just off the shore of the river. Taking a deep breath, she slowly advanced, wincing as the pungent smell of blood and death pierced the air. When she was finally close enough to recognize the cat, anger welled within her. It was Bumbletail, one of her young and loyal warriors.
Juniperfang made quick time as she ran through the forest, not stopping until she reached the Willow Grove. Once she arrived, the she-cat slowed and enjoyed the soft breeze that blew the branches of the willows back and forth in a beautiful canopy of green. She could hear the birds that sang in the trees, and she licked her whiskers, dropping down into a crouch as she began stalking her prey.
