hey i think it looks pretty good! i think the bottom half of the arm on the right is a bit shorter compared to the one on the left though?

It looks good. You got the expression going on, a nice position of the character, and you are showing what the character is all about in one picture. Excellent. In animation school image should say what the character is. At least according to Pixar and DreamWorks. Just a disclaimer I don't draw. I have a degree in arts and humanities, friends who work in Disney animation, and I'm surrounded by TONS of artists. So the advise is from art history classes I took for my AA degree of different techniques historical artists did on their works and which ones specifically & tips from other artists. Human hands are one of the hardest things to draw. Between females and males the human body are different. Men tend to be bolder and larger than women whereas woman's hands are normally slender and have a little bit more tip with their nails. Another advice about hands is you can draw a hand drawing butts. Here are pictures:
